This book had a good amount of info for those of us wanting to move from teaching into educational administration, however it was also extremely wordy and conceptually, extremely redundant. I took notes on this book for a graduate level class and found I had to keep myself from rewriting the same key concepts and ideas over and over again. Also, the sentences were frequently long and could have been edited to be much more concise. Overall, though, I did find the book a useful read, especially chapter 8 which outlined different conversations an administrator could have with a school faculty to help improve teaching practice schoolwide.

If this topic is new to you, then Danielson provides important concepts to be considered and employed. The focus of this book is limited to professional conversations based on classroom observations. This is one of two books I ever recall not finishing, although I did skim the last 20 pages.

Read this book for an online course. The book was set up well for online discussions and journal entries.
