That is IT. I'm done with Ziglar. I remember many years ago listening to recordings of his on topics of motivation or sales and enjoying them. For decades now, he's been incapable of anything but Christian Crazy Nutbar stuff. I've tried to pick out the stuff I like by age, description and reviews and always fail. I'm going to just admit that I'll never rediscover the Ziglar that meant something to me.

very motivational and positive. We tend to forget the basic points that go so far. I've always liked Zig Z. and glad I found this audiobook.

Zig Ziglar’s Staying Up, Up, Up in a Down, Down World is a motivational guide focused on maintaining a positive attitude, developing strong character, and embracing personal growth.

The book emphasizes hope as a catalyst for change, the importance of gratitude, and the power of attitude in shaping one’s life. Success is not determined by external circumstances but by how one responds to challenges. Discipline, persistence, and faith are key to overcoming adversity.

Ziglar highlights the role of character in long-term success, stressing that integrity, trust, and loyalty build strong relationships and careers. He encourages continuous learning and self-improvement, as adaptability is crucial in a changing world.

He also underscores the value of kindness, generosity, and service, stating that helping others ultimately leads to personal fulfillment. A balanced life—incorporating faith, hard work, and strategic time management—ensures long-term success and happiness.

Ultimately, the book teaches that success is an inside job, and those who cultivate a positive mindset, strong values, and a heart for service will thrive despite life’s ups and downs.

Zig Ziglar is one of my favorite speakers and writers. He is so transparent and relates those things that made a difference in his life and success in a palatable way. I love the way he calls out behavior without it being offensive, but more as a loving observer.

This book can benefit any one of any age.

Some kind of motivational or self help book. It's not so much for business or sales. Everything is presented through christian point of view with bible verses.

Not a clear format, better titled as "Ziglar Thoughts on Our World" circa 2000 time frame. For non-Christians, the bible references maybe much. I preferred having those as an additional reference to lookup myself. Overall, this would be an awkward or tough read/listen for all but a few devotees or seekers.

Well firstly let me say I love Zig Ziglar (RIP) and his work has had a massive positive impact on the way my mind works

This audio however seemed all over the place ( content WAS good) but nowhere his near nicely flowing recordings where he grips your attention in his unique teaching style

This covered all sorts of topics however jumping from one thing to the next with no real connective flow which can (in normal circumstances) let you listen to Zig for hours on end with sincere enjoyment ...

Perhaps this was meant to be listened too in bite size chunks, one verse at a time vs where I let go continuously as I do like to listen to recordings like this whilst getting on with my daily tasks...

To Our Continued Success!

Zig Ziglar

str.

(Al in Brenda Taylor)

str.

I must admit I was not very impressed by this book. I certainly had much higher hopes when I checked it out from the library. The stories and anecdotes he shares are mildly amusing at best but I wouldn't consider them very inspirational. He tries to link each story he shares to a verse in the Bible, but I found the scriptures he chose rarely fit well into the message. I must be honest I did not even make it to the end of the book. I will be looking elsewhere for a book to provide the motivation I was looking for.

I have read many of Ziglar's books and they have always served the purpose of keeping the spirits up and focused on work and life at hand. He has been one of my favorite speaker-writers and this book has been a different type, a pure play motivational book with lots of Biblical reference to fit with the stories, which may be off putting for others.
This book has been one that has provided diminishing returns after every reading hence the low ratings although I have had many readings over the two decades. He has had much better works to his name.

Good information for the most part. Peiced together, isn't really a flowing boook, it throws quotes, scriptures and alternative ways of being at you left and right. Like i said, good info, it's just you'll find the same stuff in Over the Top which is a much, much better book.

Christian propaganda mixed with Ziglar's unique and useful wisdom. Not a word on the perverseness that the blind faith he proposes as a way of everyday life entails

Not the usual genre I pick. Some stories were good and got me thinking. But overall to me it was boring
