The New York Times Bestselling Romance

People come into our lives. Some stay, and many go. Some build us up, while most tear us down. They become our friends, our enemies, our lovers, our tormentors. Christian Davison came into mine, and I knew I’d never be the same.

To Elizabeth Ayers, New York City had always been a dream. She’s worked her entire young life to make it here.

Groomed to one day take over his father’s law firm, attending Columbia University was Christian Davison’s only option.

Neither wanted anything more until they sat across from each other at a café table after being paired as study partners. Christian wants her, but Elizabeth knows better than to give into their intense attraction. Yet there is little she can do to stay away.

★★★★! Lost To You, book 0.5 of 2. College freshmen & study partners fight their attraction!

“The man would own me with one passing touch, and I was certain that’s exactly what it would be. Passing.”

Books in series should be read in order:
Part 0.5: Lost To You
Book 1: Take This Regret
Book 2: If Forever Comes

Lost To Your (part 0.5) is about Columbia University freshmen Christian Davison and Elizabeth Ayers who meet after being paired as American Government study partners. They are instantly attracted to each other.

Too handsome for his own good, Christian is on a reprieve from his controlling father, left to play the field until it’s time to take over his father’s real-estate law empire.

Elizabeth, from a single parent home having worked tirelessly and accepting every scholarship she could get, is not at school to play. Beside she has very little experience when it comes to boys.

So they settle in as study partners helping each other and over time become the closest of friends. But their attraction doesn’t stop and with friendship stronger feelings flow freely.

Story follows Christian and Elizabeth for part of their first year in college as they get to know each other fight their attraction. Will they be able to resist?

Eight words to describe Christian Davison: Charming, noble, endearing, private, considerate, ambitious, strong and possessive.

photo TTRPre he BS by sb_zpszzikp6bo.gif

Eight words to describe Elizabeth Ayers: Sweet, naïve, innocent, shy, loyal, smart, focused and easygoing.

Lost To You, is a beautiful coming-of-age tale of friendship and love, told from dual POVs. Aside from a few inconsistencies I enjoyed every moment of their journey. It ends in a perfect place only for their story to be continued in book 1, Take This Regret.

Beautifully told! Excellent character development! Sizzling sexual tension! The series spans years and follow their friendship and love. It promises angst and hints of an epic love!

“There were a rare few in this world who could stop me in my tracks, but it was only Elizabeth who could bring me to my knees.”

ITS LIVE ON AMAZON GUYS!!!!

*happy sigh* I loved this!! Absolutely fantastic!

I have to say that between this beautiful novella and the heart-wrenching yet uplifting novel “Take This Regret“, Christian and Elizabeth’s journey remains one of my all-time favorites love stories.

This book is the prequel story to Take This Regret that tells the story of Christian and Elizabeth meeting and falling in love with each other.

Overall, its the story of young love, a mistake, a regret, and a second chance at love but just the way its written, the words have a way of reaching right into your heart and not letting go.

I truly love stories that aren’t perfect – where the characters make mistakes, learn from them, trip and fall down but make it back up even stronger than before.

For those of you who have not yet read this book, I would actually advise reading Take This Regret first. Despite this being a prequel to it, I personally loved knowing where Christian and Elizabeth’s story went before reading this – it somehow gave it a lot more meaning. So, if you haven’t yet read Take This Regret, I would suggest starting there. Its on my exclusive 6-star book list. That book touched my heart on so many levels, I can’t even begin to explain it.

That being said, you could also easily start with this book on its own. It does work either way :)

I really want to emphasize how much I LOVE AL Jackson’s writing style. Like seriously. With all my heart. I opened the first page of this book and literally just breathed this huge deep calming happy sigh because I just KNEW I was about to start a BEAUTIFUL book. There is just something about the way she writes that just projects the most intense emotions right onto you from the page. Its an all consuming experience and I love every minute of reading her books.

This story basically follows Elizabeth and Christian - young, in school and falling so sweetly in love. It was just adorable beyond all reason to watch them slowly give into their intense feelings for each other! It was perfectly paced, made my heart flutter and had me grinning for pages on end.

“I was in love with Christian. Completely.
There was nothing I could do about it, no way to take it back. It was there, strong, interwoven and beating with my heart.”

But its not all happy – there are a lot of tension that we begin to see the root of here that end up building to the events at the beginning of Take This Regret. We get incredible insight into Christian and you begin to understand his later choices more. The tension is largely external but its part of what shaped the characters into the people they were and influenced their decisions.

The story is told in alternating POVs so we really get the complete picture and a deep understanding of what each character was going through. Honestly, my heart went out to Elizabeth (who, incidentally, is one of my favorite heroines) and my heart went out to Christian (who you really just can’t help but fall for). I love them both so much.

Take This Regret is a second-chance love story so we know going into this read that something happens to tear them apart so there is also a measure of dread when reading because you *know* what is going to happen. But you should know that this book ends on a HAPPY note!!! It was really the perfect place to end it and the book left me with a warm fuzzy feeling … and also the intense desire to go and re-read TTR.

This isn’t a full length book… I’d describe it more as a “book-like novella”. It only took me a few hours to read but was long enough that I had the time to really connect to the story.

I can’t recommend this highly enough!! With all my heart, I love this story <3

Happy reading!

A huge Thank You to the author for giving me an ARC to review.

Teaser snippet from Lost TO You

“So how’s your math class going?” Christian wiped a napkin over his mouth, sat back in his chair with a satisfied sigh as he pushed his plate away. Completely casual, he appeared to be unaware of the chaos he created in me.

“Okay, thanks to you.”

A smirk pulled at his mouth.

“What would you do without me, Elizabeth?”

“Oh, I don’t know, find another cute boy to help me with math,” I said, anticipating his reaction if I teased him a little.

For a flash, his eyes narrowed, then a dangerous grin spread across his face.

“So I’m just dispensable, huh? Easily replaced?” He hunched and lowered, pressed his chest into the table to meet me at eye level, this slow playfulness coming across him. “How about I let you fail next time?”

“Well how about I feed you the wrong answers when we study for our next government test?” I countered.

He faked a disbelieving laugh, a gentle ribbing that twisted its way straight to my heart. He was so cute like this, like a harmless boy and not the man who made me fearful, not the one who urged me to hold onto my affections, careful not to let them go.

“You’re going to feed me the wrong answers, huh? You?” he challenged. The entire meal I’d felt his leg stretched under the table, reaching, giving in to casual brushes, then receding as if they hadn’t happened.

Now Christian abruptly extended his leg, wove it between my legs, direct and bold. My breath caught. It was the closest we’d ever come to an embrace.

I averted my gaze, but couldn’t for long because I could feel him staring at me.

His voice dropped. “You, sweet Elizabeth, the most innocent girl I know, is going to feed me the wrong answers? I bet you’ve never even told a lie.”

Heat flooded my face.

He was taunting me, prodding. Is that what he really thought of me? Innocent? But honestly, I guess I was. Well maybe not innocent. . .just inexperienced. I had no idea how to play Christian’s games, no idea of what the girls he surrounded himself with were like, although I could only imagine. It had to be my greatest disadvantage. Vulnerability oozed from my consciousness, and I shifted in discomfort.

Christian could devour me whole.

His expression shifted as he edged even closer, his voice a whisper, “Just how innocent are you, Elizabeth?”

Oh Lord! Amazing doesn't begin to cover it. Beautiful. Heartbreaking. Passionate...that's a little more like it.

Lost To You is an incredible look into the beginnings of Christian and Elizabeth, I'd been so excited to know how they began, but I hadn't been expecting this story A.L. Jackson had for us.

I fell in love with Christian all over again, but in a completely different way. I loved his younger, arrogant self, the way he cherished his friendship with Elizabeth, and the way he came to the crashing realization that he was in love with her.

Elizabeth...you have to applaud her, I mean seriously. She worked so hard to get where she was, and she wasn't going to let a man like Christian stop her from achieving her goals, no matter what he made her feel. I loved that while Elizabeth was sweet, and innocent, she wasn't naive and doesn't play the damsel.

And A.L. Jackson....oh my word, I can't begin to describe what she makes you feel in this book. She has a talent for bringing out emotions, and I could literally feel every one of them throughout the book. The love, the passion, the adoration and even the heartbreak gripped me. (like...literally. I was sitting in Starbucks clutching at my chest during the heartbreak)

Sometimes, with prequels, I feel like the original story overshadows the prequel during your reading. And I'll admit, because A.L. Jackson's books are SO strong, I was worried this would happen. I can assure you it does not! Never once was I like OH BUT THIS HAPPENS LATER! I'm already thinking this because I know that this happens in Take This Regret. *shakes head* Not. Once. Lost To You stands up on it's own and takes forefront to everything you already know about Christian and Elizabeth. But let me tell you, the ending...which is beautiful (that's putting it mildly) is the perfect set-up for Take This Regret.

If you love A.L. Jackson's work, I can assure you this will be a treat for you. If you haven't read any of her work...we need to educate you...like right now.

THIS REVIEW WAS POSTED AT ANGIE'S DREAMY READS

5 HEART WARMING AMAZING STARS

Sigh...YES she did it again, A.L Jackson made me cry!! This is the prequel to Take this Regret and I swear I cried while reading the prequel :/ I mean seriously WHO cries/bawls while reading a happy, fall in love prequel??!! This girl does....lol. I’m constantly in awe of AL’s writing. She has such a beautiful and eloquent way of making you feel every emotion and thought going through her characters heads. Her use of words and way of describing stuff is so incredible and really her pages ooze raw emotion. Very few authors that I have read can write like she can. It’s an INCREDIBLE gift. I know when I go to read an A.L. Jackson book I’m going to get a full emotional and wonderful journey, one that never disappoints me. She knocked this prequel out of the park!!!

Lost to You takes us through the meeting and beginning of Christian and Elizabeth's relationship. It’s a sweet story of how they fell in love. It’s filled with passion and excitement and tears...lol (for me; lots of tears). Christian's flaws shine through in this book giving you a glimpse into some of the warning signs Elizabeth saw in the beginning of their friendship/relationship that would later translate into the demise and issues they had in Take this Regret (Take this Regret is a gut wrenching book that is packed with so much angst and gripping emotion it left me hung over for days.) Christian and Elizabeth meet up for a study session in a coffee shop and the instant attraction is immediate. Christian is eighteen and very cocky and Elizabeth is young and has an innocence to her that I fell in love with. I don’t want to give too many details away because it is a prequel but basically they meet, sparks fly...Elizabeth is smart enough to realize right off the bat that going for Christian and getting involved with him would spell T.R.O.U.B.L.E. There’s some angst and drama that goes as you watch them fall in love (swoon, swoon, swoon)!!

Honestly the whole thing is FANTASTIC. I loved it.

If you haven’t read Take this Regret yet I would encourage you to read it first. I don’t think it really matters which order you read the books in but I think you would get a better understanding of Christian and Elizabeth if you read the main book first and then came back and saw where it all started. I know as soon as I finished Lost to you I wanted to re-read Take this Regret right away and keep myself immersed in Christian and Elizabeth's story as well as A.L’s amazing writing. There’s just something about the way that women writes.

Overall these two characters I hold dear to my heart. Their journey is long and heartbreaking but as they say TRUE LOVE can stand the test of time and that’s what keeps me the hopeless romantic that I am coming back for stories like this. There is nothing better than young love and a second chance love and this prequel in my opinion was beautiful and perfectly written. I HIGHLY recommend this and Take this Regret as well as A.L's other novels Pulled and When we Collide. They are all breathtaking reads.

This makes me think of Christian and Elizabeth (sigh ;) )

‘Lost to You’ is a prequel novella to ‘Take This Regret’ and even though it’s been over 11 years ago, it’s an unforgettable read for me (mostly because the heroine made me ragey). I liked seeing where Christian and Elizabeth got their start. I love the narrator, but for some reason I couldn’t really differentiate between her male and female chapters, so it made the book harder to listen to.

“I’m going to love you forever, Elizabeth Ayers.”
I looked up at the man who now held everything, my trust, my future, the nature of my heart. Reaching up, I ran my fingers through the thickness of his black hair. “Don’t ever leave me, Christian.”
Christian frowned, his blue eyes sincere as he leaned forward to whisper at my forehead. “I couldn’t.”

(A. L. Jackson. “Lost to You.”)

LOST TO YOU, was such an adoring book. Elizabeth is a good girl while Christian is a bad boy, I've always loved books that had a little hate and love and friendships so this book was just perfect, I can read a million of those in a day and not get bored. Especially with LOST TO YOU, which deserves 5 LOVELY STARS!!!!

Fantastic & Beautiful ~
A Must Read for Fans of Take This Regret!!!

Lost To You is the prequel to A.L. Jackson’s book Take This Regret. In my opinion, if you haven’t read Take This Regret yet, read this prequel first. This was one of the best if not best novella/prequel that I have read to date. I just loved how A.L. Jackson told the story of Christian and Elizabeth’s journey through friendship into a true modern day love story.

****I wish I could have read this book first, it made Take This Regret so much more.****

A.L. Jackson’s writing is absolutely brilliant. She shares with the reader both povs throughout the story. There was a beauty found in their feelings for one another. I couldn’t get enough of how Christian saw Elizabeth. They were both so young and found something so incredible in one another.

”From the moment I saw her, I knew something about her was different. I just never imagine it would change my life.” ~Christian

”But Christian was none of those things. He was complicated, both selfish and kind, thoughtful and mindless, generous with a tendency toward greed.
And he was anything but plain. This beautiful man stole my breath with a simple look and had me shaking with the mere brush of his hand.
Once, Christian had been a mistake I couldn't afford. Now, he's become someone I didn't want to live without.”
~Elizabeth

description

I was lost in the writing and tried to slow my reading pace down repeatedly so I could savor the beauty of this book.

Now go and get lost in Christian and Elizabeth’s story. You won't regret it!

This was a good start to the series, I am curious to see what happens to Christian and Elizabeth now that they have finally gotten together. I have to say that I really disliked Christian's parents, I had hoped that at least one of them would be a good parent but sadly NO :(

This is the first book I have read by A.L. Jackson but I have a few other books of her on my TBR shelf and I just added the rest of this series so I know this will not be the last of her work that I read. :)

Where is the story? The author kept going on and on about Elizabeth's and Christians feelings for each other but there was no drama. Even when he left her or when his father ousted her and when they get together. I don't get how everyone raves about this book. It lacked any pull of emotion from me. I want to feel they struggle but it wasn't there.

As 2018 was getting to a close, I still needed one book to finish my reading challenge. A short book was what I needed. Luckily I found this short novella sitting and waiting ready to be read on my kindle.
No offense to the book or the author, A. L. Jackson, but I didn’t expect much of it. I just wanted to finish my reading challenge.

I was honestly surprised at how great Lost To You actually was! There were so many feels, so many emotions, and so much love. Elizabeth and Christian’s story was probably a typical New Adult romance but I loved it so much! I’m a real sucker for great romances and great feels and their story came at the perfect time. I really needed something like that.

As much I loved the story, I couldn’t help but have an issue with Elizabeth’s and Christian’s way of acting and behaving. Their were both freshman at Columbia University and 18 years old, but they acted as if they were in their mid-twenties at least. In my opinion, their love story would’ve been more believable, if Jackson had changed their age.
I also couldn't help but notice very many typos throughout the whole novella. As this is the novella's 3rd edition since its release in 2013, I would have expected the typos to be fully erased by now.
This and the age issue is the reason and I can only give Lost To You 4 Stars.

This was only 0.5?? 😱 I need book #1 pronto!! And please let it be with Elizabeth and Christian!! 😍

Once again, A.L. Jackson has captured my heart with Elizabeth and Christian's love story. I really enjoyed learning how their story begain. Knowing what heartbreak and triumph lay ahead for them only added to the experience reading this book gave me. If you haven't read "Take This Regret", start with that one eventhouh "Lost to You" is a prequel. You also get a better look at what makes Christian who he is. I highly recommend both "Take This Regret" and "Lost to You". I think you will be very impressed with how powerful your emotions are while reading them.

This was my first book by AL Jackson, and it won't be my last. I definitely want to continue this series, and to try her other books as well.

Christian and Elizabeth have an undeniable attraction to each other, one they're both fighting. Even with them being just friends, the connection between them is awesome, and I enjoyed their moments together.

I was waiting for the inevitable moment that they would finally move past the just friends stage, and when things really started happen, boy did they happen. Although, nothing was too crazy until that ending. And that ending? Man! I need to read the next book ASAP!

In this prequel to Take This Regret we learn how Christian and Elizabeth meet..

I wish I read this before Take this regret but it doesn't matter.. I love Christian all the same..

Studying in New York at Columbia, Christian meets Elizabeth as they are paired together as study partners.

From the moment he sees her... He is taken by her.. Sitting in a coffee shop she is all he sees..

But Elizabeth is not one to fall for him charm... Christian is a player... And Elizabeth knows it..

This makes him want her more.. But they become friends.. Best friends..
They spend all their time together, learning about each other,.

Christian is from a wealthy family... With hard and cold parents...Elizabeth is from a poor family where her mom was a single mother working to make ends meet.
Two people from two different worlds...

Elizabeth soon realizes she likes him more then a friend... Trying to control her feelings she tells herself.. Not giving in to her feelings. She tells him she can't see him anymore...

What I was opposed to was giving myself to someone like him. This man would own me with one passing touch, and I was certain that's exactly what it would be. Passing.

Christian is devastated without Elizabeth... He misses her his best friend, his world...

He begs her to meet his parents for Thanksgiving dinner with him.
When his parents insult her.. He tells them off and she leaves.

This is when he realizes the truth...

“It slammed into me so hard it nearly knocked me from my feet. At the same time, it felt completely natural. Inevitable. Simple.
I loved her.
My eyes dropped closed, savoring the truth soaking my body, my nerves thrilling in excitement while my heat beat with a steady content.
I loved her.”

"He gazed at me as if I were the center of his world. There was nothing I could have done to stop this when I realized he’d become mine. “I’m going to love you forever, Elizabeth Ayers.”"

"I looked up at the man who now held everything, my trust, my future, the nature of my heart. Reaching up, I ran my fingers through the thickness of his black hair. “Don’t ever leave me, Christian.”

"Christian frowned, his blue eyes sincere as he leaned forward to whisper at my forehead. “I couldn’t.”

Will this love last forever? Read take this regret to find out!

This was a nice story. I didn't read the other books yet so for me I was new to the couple. At least now when I read the others I will now know their story. Elizabeth and Christian meet at college. Of course they are completely different. They start off as being friends. However, that doesn't go real well considering they had the hots for each right away. The book is basically them trying to admit to each other that they are in love. Finally it happens and all is well for now.

This was a typical slow burn romance. Not my fav but it was pretty good. Easy to read. It does end in a cliffy so make sure you read the other books in the series. I liked Elizabeth but I did not care for Christian. I repeatedly forgot his name. Typical rich boy with horrible parents.

Do you ever have those times where you just don’t feel like reading? I’ve had a lot of work this week and a lot going on and was having a tough time focusing on anything. I decided that a short novella was the only thing I was up to reading, even though I knew it wasn’t fair for me to read this story when my heart wasn’t in it. I fully expected to be a bit blasé about it. Well, that is just not possible with A.L. Jackson. Wow, she knows how to write.

Despite the stresses of life and my total apathy toward reading this week, I got sucked right in. I loved Take this Regret, so reading where it all began was so much fun. I always knew I liked and respected Elizabeth, but I was surprised how much I fell in love with Christian. I loved how Elizabeth saw the real Christian, not the superficial playboy he showed to the world. She brought out a softness in him that his parents had spent a childhood trying to squash. The fact that he gave in to that softness made me love him all the more. And, I need to add that their first time together (yes, I mean together) had butterflies rolling around my belly and my eyes even teared up a few times.

I finished this story with a wistful sigh and ear to ear grin, completely forgetting all the crap that was rolling around in my head when I started. That is why I love to read. Who needs anti stress pills? Just pick up a book. LOL Anyway, I really truly recommend this book, and Take this Regret, to everyone who loves a romance that leaves you feeling all mushy inside. I will be reading a lot more from A.L Jackson.

1.5 stars, cause yikes.

I did not realize this book was initially published in 2013. Based on what I like and don't like in romances, I very cautiously read anything written before 2015ish, as in I seriously do my research before picking them up to be fair. This is just a personal thing that I have realized and now take as a precaution for myself because I seriously do not like/think it is unfair to pick up books I suspect I won't enjoy. However, this book tricked me!! It was republished for the 3rd time in 2018 and that was the publishing date I saw when I picked up this free book off amazon.

So moving on to specifics of why I didn't like this ... just let me intro this with a quote, or as I will refer to it, ex #1 of why this was a no:
"That wasn't going to happen. She has to be the most disgusting slut I knew"
Above, I quote just one instance of the MCs talking about how disgusting every other girl in the whole state of New York is compared to our disenfranchised, naive, innocent, wants to save the world but judges everyone who lives their lives differently than her, heroine. This type of romance is just seriously not my cup of tea. It's your classic, man whore who falls in love with the innocent girl at first sight because she is just soooooo different from any girl you would ever see at a *gasp* party.

Before I get too snarky sounding, I do want to seriously recognize that this is likely a product of its "time" in the romance world, and for that reason, I can't rip on it too harshly. I am not saying that all "older" books are bad ... in fact, many of my favorite romance novels were published before this arbitrary 2015 date I have set as a warning alarm for myself. I just know have fallen into the trap too many times of picking up a book that so many people loved and very fastly realizing it is dated in terms of what I like/dislike in the romance books I chose to pick up. For me, this was just bad and not something I enjoyed reading at all.

The worst part of this whole experience is that I already freaking bought the next book in this series!!! and after page 2o, I knew it was a huge waste of money on my part. I tried to return the ebook but am too late :( so because I am stubborn as all hell, I will give this series one more chance and hope that the groveling book 2 promises to deliver makes up for some of the stuff I already know I am not going to enjoy. Maybe these characters were purposefully terrible in book 1 so that the development would be amazing in book 2?? I'm not sure, but I am going to force myself to go into it open-mindedly.

So ya, as I am sure you can tell at this point, this was not close to a new favorite for me but looks like I will be picking up book 2 regardless :////

Christian Davison is the kind of guy Elizabeth's Ayers should stay away from : playboy, arrogant, rich, bad boy. But for reasons she couldn't decipher, she was magnetically drawn to him through their study sessions and Friday night bondings.

Christian wasn't used to not getting what he wants. So when Elizabeth gave him the brush-off during their first meeting, he was determined to get into her good graces and make her change her mind about him.

Until they both got lost to each other's charms.

I didn't know what to expect from this book when I got it for my Kindle. As I read and savored the pages, the characters warmed up to me, the story became realistic and my meanderings burst into emotions. This is what reckless love is all about. This is what relentless love results to. This is how rebellious love may end up.

I liked the flow of this story, the writing was good, and the build up was strong and enticing. The preview to Take This Regret book was included here, and suddenly I'm dying to know so much more about Christian's and Elizabeth's impending doom. Gotta read this really soon!

“Lost to You” is one of the best short stories I've ever read. Christian and Elizabeth’s love story is so sweet and tender that my emotions got the best of me and tears fell. Having already read “Take This Regret” didn’t diminish one single moment in this beautiful prequel -- but only enriched the reading experience by taking readers back to the moment the magic first sparked between two young college students.

Because it’s always my preference, I was so happy to have the dual POVs allowing readers to capture and experience the more intimate details of each character’s individual personality, thoughts and emotions.

An absolutely incredible story by an author who deserves high praise for this flawlessly written gem. I look forward to reading many more great stories from the talented A.L. Jackson.

Lost to You is a beautiful, heart-stopping love story with a bit of heart-break thrown in the mix that tells the story of how Christian and Elizabeth came to be. You will sigh happily, swoon, smile, cry and get pissed off. What a great range of emotions to keep your face glued to your screen.

I was lucky enough to be given the ARC to this book to review and I can tell you that you won’t be disappointed. I posted on my Facebook page throughout and tortured and teased those chatting with me. A.L. Jackson even called me a #TwitterTease! Sorry, but how could I be quiet when reading this book? Impossible, as you will soon find out when you pick it up to read. I apologize now for your lack of sleep.

This prequel to Take This Regret begins when Christian and Elizabeth’s meet during their first semester of Columbus University. They are in the same American Government class and are picked to be study partners. The connection is immediate and will have you smiling from ear to ear. A happy squeal escaped my lips once or twice for sure.

Elizabeth’s guard was immediately up when met her new study partner because she doesn’t trust the looks, smirks or words that fell out of his mouth. She knows the type of guy he is and wants none of it! (Shoo go away). Elizabeth worked hard to get to Columbia and needs to stay focused on her grades in order to maintain the grants, scholarships and student loans. No need to muck it up with a boy who only wants one thing.

Christian walks into the café and is instantly taken with Elizabeth. He tries to try his typical antics that work on all the girls who will immediately drop their panties for him but soon realizes that Elizabeth is different. She deserves more and he wants to give her more. But how much more and is he capable of it? Resolved to not hurt her he decides to try and focus on a friendship.

Favorite quotes and excerpts from the book:

“There was no way I could allow myself to get lost in this guy, and by the thoughts that smile had left swirling through my head—that stomach-flipping, heart-lurching, earth-shattering smile—I knew just how easily I could.”

“See.” This time I nudged his foot with mine. “You’re going to learn to trust me.”

“Oh God. Men should not be that pretty.”

“Ice skating? Are you joking, Elizabeth? You come all the way to New York City, and the one thing you’re excited to do is go ice skating? You have to be the biggest nerd I’ve ever met, “I teased. Her face puckered in offense, before her mouth dropped open with it. It was cute. Really cute. “Nerd,” I mouthed, unable to stop myself from provoking her more.”

“How did he make me feel the most insecure I’d ever felt in my entire life, yet manage to make me feel the safest in his presence?”

“Just how innocent are you, Elizabeth?”

“Do you have any idea how many times I wanted to do that? This fucking stairwell has been the bane of my existence for the last four months?”
(by A.L. Jackson)

So the “friendship” begins (AHH)! Study, study, study, talk, talk, talk, blah, blah, blah (except it’s SOOO NOT blah…it makes your heart happy). The whole time I’m thinking “come on”! A.L. Jackson does a fantastic job with her own teasing and she makes it easy to fall for Christian and Elizabeth (I know most of you all probably already love them from Take This Regret) but for those of us who haven’t read it yet (note to self: move TTR up to #1 on my TBR pile) you will fall in love with them!

Now things aren’t all flowers, blue skies and butterflies. Christian can be a “stupid boy” and I thought he needed a good slap on the side of the head to wake his ass up! Hello McFly! Things happen: misunderstandings, family meetings, heartache and tears fall. Will they be able to maintain that strong friendship?

Lost in You is written in the POV of both Christian and Elizabeth. You can a glimpse into their thoughts, feelings and love. I just smile when I think about this book. I loved it so and so will you. Find out how it all began!! You won’t be disappointed!

I read Take This Regret last year and that was one of my favorite romance novels about "second chances". When I heard about Lost To You, I was really psyched because I really wanted to know how their relationship started. So, thank you Ms. Jackson for this wonderful prequel!

Elizabeth Ayers is an 18 year old freshman student of Columbia University. She was from San Diego and was raised by a single mother with her 2 sisters. She have always dreamed of moving to New York that's why she worked hard to be accepted in Columbia. Now that she's in New York, she have to maintain her grades to keep her scholarships. She signed up to find a study partner for her American Government class ---and that's how she met Christian.

Christian Davison's life was mapped out since he was a little boy. He went to Columbia because his father went there and he is expected to take over his dad's firm when the old man retires. When he met Elizabeth for the first time, he was immediately drawn to her. However, when she became his study partner and learned more about her, he knew that she's different. For him, Elizabeth is not just beautiful, she's also smart, kind and innocent. Christian new that he couldn't take advantage of her like he usually do with other woman he wanted. So, he settled for friendship instead.

The two became fast friends and they were inseparable. As they spend more time together, the attraction between them intesified. Will they give in to their feelings and risk their friendship? or will they continue denying the obvious and pretend that they can be just friends?
"He’d use me. Destroy me. Not because he wanted to, but just because that’s who he was."
I loved it! The writing, as usual, was brilliant. Though it was short, I really felt the character's emotions. Elizabeth and Christian's bittersweet love story took me in an emotional roller coaster ride. After reading Lost To You, I now have a better understanding of the main characters' struggles in Take This Regret. I think i'm going to re-read TTR soon... I can't get enough of their story!
“Don’t ever leave me, Christian.”

Christian frowned, his blue eyes sincere as he leaned forward to whisper at my forehead. “I couldn’t.”

I highly recommend this book for NA contemporary romance readers. If you haven't read any AL Jackson book yet, please pick this one OR Take This Regret! I promise, you will not be disappointed.

PS. I wish the couple in the cover have clothes on, LOL! The cover is giving people ideas that the book is an erotica, when in fact it isn't.

Everyone says to read Take This Regret first, but I'm kinda glad I didn't. Honestly, I'm not sure how I would have responded to the characters with the amount of pain and confusion that one starts with if I hadn't had the foundation first.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I know most people say to read this one after Take This Regret, but I'm not sure I agree.
