I was drawn to tarot cards from the first moment I set eyes on my first deck as a young child. The images were fascinating and haunting. When I realized that the cards were used for divination, that only added to their appeal. When I borrowed books from the library, which were scarce, I could hardly make any sense of the cards' meanings. It was frustrating because I so wanted to understand them. At least a dozen times, I started to try to learn the cards and stopped in sheer frustration.
Through people's reviews, I bought this book. Wow! Thanks reviewers for steering me to this book. The information was presented in a straight forward, no nonsense manner. The exercises are confidence builders and really helped me build a foundational understanding of the cards through the images and not the memorizing the word meanings. There is no sense of self-discovery if one is busy rifling through a tarot book looking for the card meanings and then try to stitch everything together like a poorly conceived quilt. It is then a big mish-mash. I now understand that the card spread to be like a master painting where every element is in its correct place. Just step back to take a look at it. It will all make sense.
My advice to everyone. Throw out your other books. This is the one!
I like his teaching style so much that I just purchased his new book, Advanced Tarot Secrets. If you need more help, he has tons of videos and podcast on line-- for FREE!

I'm really enjoying this book.The intuitive way is the easiest and fastest way to learn the tarot.Tryed other books, I'm not great at memorization so I didn't get far. But with Dusty's intuitive method I am having good results.

Yes, this really is the easiest way to learn the Tarot. This is basically a workbook that puts the power and responsibility in your own hands. There is information on the Tarot, along with recommendations for a beginning deck. I’m appreciative because the deck I have just isn’t working for me.
There are numerous exercises, spreads, and lots of instruction on each card in the deck. The first exercises are designed to get you looking at your cards, and Dusty White puts it on you to decode their meaning. What it means to you is what is important, because that will work more consistently than rote memorizing when doing readings in the future. I actually had to meditate on that for a few days before I understood it.
The first spread mentioned is “The Hardest Spread – EVER!!” This is easy to cast, but super-duper hard to interpret. It uses the entire deck, and requires time spent meditating on your question. But the spread? Just toss your cards up and see where they fall. I found it’s placement silly and in tune with Dusty’s sense of humor.
Which brings me to the other thing I enjoyed in this workbook, the humor Dusty brought in even as a teaching tool. I literally laughed a lot going through this, and I’m drawn to the instruction books that keep me awake, aren’t you?
This book is exactly what I was looking for in a Tarot Workbook. I truly look forward to going through this at a slower pace and really working through…everything! Thanks so much Dusty, this gets title of “Most Useful Yule Gift Ever!”

I keep saying it to every reader friend I have until the point I see them giving in and buying the book. This book got a grip on me, turned my way of reading the tarot around and changed my little reader life for the better! The best tarot course there is out there in my opinion. It's written with so much humor, (seriously, this dude is hilarious!) and it actually lets you do stuff with a 30-days exercise plan. It lets you experience and find your own style of reading instead of mindlessly staring yourself blind on keywords. His free tarot lessons (look them up, really!) made me purchase this book and his second tarot book, Advanced Tarot Secrets, was the immediate next step in my course. This guy is the best teacher you can find on tarot out there, in my opinion!

Great for learning beyond your little white book!
I just started elks ring about tarot and it is a bit overwhelming. I kinda learned some of the the cards old keyword and meaning but this book helps you understand the cards on a more personal level. You hells you create a personal meaning tot he cards and how to read them like a book instead did keywords. It also helps knowing that you really can’t read the cards incorrectly. I recommend this book for anyone just starting or even a seasoned tarot reader!

Any interest in Tarot cards must be matched with this book. Simple format, easy to follow exercises, and just plain fun to boot. You won't find a better learning tool out there short of hiring Dusty himself to teach you!

Is an excellent introduction to Tarot reading for any person that wanted to read Tarot but was afraid of not being able to learn how to do it. The brilliance of this book is in the simple approach the author take to interpret the cards. There is no excuse in not learning the Tarot now!

Superior book for understanding how to learn to read tarot, and then actually doing it!
The approach that Dusty uses in his book is absolutely the best, hands down. It allows for bad habits that have been acquired to be easily corrected without even realizing it! If you just let go, don't question and follow along, before you know it you'll have an understanding that makes it so easy to be able to start reading the cards.
A definite must have for any serious tarot student or master - you cannot ignore the logic offered in this book.

All Knowledge is Good Knowledge
This was a fantastic read with many great exercises for building a relationship with your tarot deck. The writing itself was hilarious. I like that emphasis was placed on personal interpretation as opposed to "this is the only way cards can be read." Knowledge only enhances intuition in my book.

Would be the right book for the right person. It just didn't reside with me. Maybe it would've been better if I started here, but I'd been at it for some time already when I came across this book. All in all, a good approach. Also, the author is clearly very open to being a resource to anyone who wants to learn. 👍

If you really want to learn the tarot, BUY THIS BOOK. It not only includes descriptions of the cards, as all tarot books do, it provides lesson plans and exercises to learn to interpret the cards without robotic memorization. It’s simply the most effective, well-developed method you can find outside of a live teacher.

The biggest downside of the book is that it downplays traditional interpretations of cards and says "find out your own meanings!", or worse, "your opinion on the cards is just as valid as those of A.E. Waite or all those so-called experts!", which I definitely don't agree with -- if you're not well read in numerology, kabballah, hermeticism, etc, it's best not to try to invent stuff that contradicts with what brighter and more educated people have said.
However, they do have nice exercises you can do to familiarize with the cards -- although imo they're unnecessary.
They also have a nice appendix connecting Tarot with numerology, kabballah, and other stuff and their section on the meaning of the cards is very good.

Simply one of the best instriductions to the topic of Tarot.
This book is not a simple collection of meanings to use when trying to piece together a reding with your newly Amazon-acquired deck. This book intends to teach you to red, not with your mind and eyes, but with your intuition, your imaginations and your manifestation abilities.
Designed as a training program, you'll learn the basics of everything tarot related, but in a way that assures you will LEARN, not memorize the concepts. One of the best things of the author, is how he just leads you to believe in yourself, in your own perception, helping you develop a unique style.

I have many books on tarot, but Mr. White's The Easiest Way to Learn Tarot Ever!! is by far my favorite one. The style of writing is laid back, humorous, and easy to follow; not stiff and boring. The book doesn't try to explain every single symbol of the cards; instead, he emphasizes that you use your own intuition to be a reader of the cards, which I feel is where the real power of the tarot lies, not remembering a bunch of keywords (imo, just because you know all the text book meanings does not mean you will be a good reader.) The many exercises helps you to dig deep within yourself so you can become an intuitive reader--to really understand the tarot. Mr. White even has a free special website for those who've bought the book and invites students to personally correspond with him regarding any tarot questions you might have. How many other authors do that! The Easiest Way to Learn Tarot Ever!! is a must have whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro.

I've read some Tarot books and this was literally the easiest way to learn Tarot ever!
The exercises are very simple and straightforward and you don't have to memorize anything.
The writing is really colloquial and enjoyable.
I really recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn Tarot.
I must add one drawback. The exercises are made to help you learn the minor arcana first, so the examples include just minor arcana cards. Then, you must do the exercises all over again, but including the mayor arcana cards. The problem is that there is no example of the mayor arcana cards in use.
Despite this, the book deserves 5 stars or even more.

I have been reading Tarot for over 25 years and what I especially liked about this book is the intuitive and easy approach to reading the cards. If I had this book when I started out, I reckon that things would have flowed more and also that there would be even more Tarot readers out there.
It is a large book, but most of it is about your interaction and also images of cards. Any Tarot deck can be used and the friendly tone of the book inspires a playfulness which can and will benefit the learner. I can wholeheartedly give this book a high recommendation and thank you Dusty.

I purchased this book based on 100's of reviews here, and on other websites, and I was happy to see the book is true to it's title. If you really want to learn tarot, not by memorizing a bunch of old dry terms for each card, but by your own intuition, get this book! It's a workbook. WRITE IN IT! Mess it up! Learning tarot is fun! Just buy this book! (Your inner self knows you want it!)
