Book one of the Maha Vishnu Trilogy, The Code of Manavas, is set some two million years past ad 2050, when earth as we know it ceased to exist, and so did mankind. A new race, the Manavas, now exists on Bhoomi, the erstwhile Earth, which is divided into two cities—Madhavpur and Ayudhpur. In the quiet and peaceful city of Madhavpur, a reclusive Krishna is busy with an immense task. He has to prepare a new abode for the Manavas before an impending apocalypse destroys them. He knows something that nobody else does—the Manavas are running out of time faster than they can imagine, and there are no inhabitable planets to escape to. To make matters worse, there is someone in Madhavpur who wants to destroy Krishna and subjugate each Manava. The Manavas, it seems, are doomed. Yet Krishna knows there is a slim chance of survival for the Manavas, although there is a huge price to be paid for it. Will the various factions of the Manavas unite for the greater good? Will Krishna, who saved them during the turn of the last Yuga, be able to save them now? What will be the price to pay? Enter the mythical world of Maha Vishnu and get swept up in a fast-paced suspenseful narrative.
Arpit Bakshi has studied electrical engineering and has an MBA in finance from the University of RPI, Troy, New York. He now works for a prominent Indian bank. Arpit had initially wanted to pursue a career in theoretical physics, but ended up opting for engineering (as most students of science in India tend to do). Since his childhood, two things have never failed to amaze him—the vast expanse of the cosmos; and the unfathomable depth of Indian mythology and spirituality. He believes that one should never stop learning and it is his love for science that has gravitated him towards writing this mythology-inspired science fiction. Arpit is based in Gurgaon, India.
"The Code of Manavas" was on my wishlist for almost 3 months and by the time I decided to go for it, I found the book was off-the-shelf. I directly inquired author (Arpit Bakshi) for the same, he told me there was a good reason behind out of stock situation. Actually, the efforts and brilliance of Arpit's work were able to catch notice of well-known publishers. His book was going to be published by them and Arpit had promised me that he would get back once it would be out. Almost after a year, I got July release mail from Rupa publications and I found the book in the list. I instantly inquired Arpit for the same. He confirmed it. The new look of the cover was even more interesting than the previous one. So how could I not go for the book this time? In short, I got my hands on this book after a wait of almost 1 and a half year, so I took the book almost immediately.
So far I have discussed only my fanatics about the book. So let me give a basic plot of the book. In the year 2050, the earth we know got into oblivion kind of situation. I would say a Pralay. Only a few thousand humans survived. They called themselves as Manavas and they took an oath to follow codes of Manavas. These Manavas were able to defeat aging. They survived million years (same guys not their progeny). But change is always constant in nature. After a million years they are at the edge of next possible Pralay. Krishna is the only ray of hope for the citizen of Madhavpur (one of the two cities exists). Same Krishna saved Manavas and made them practically immortal during last Pralay. The savior Krishna himself was in dilemma and having many questions on top of extinction threat. They were being attacked by some unknown party discretely. Krishna wanted to solve both mysteries, he ventured into a restricted area with an adventurous lady. Read the book to know more. Sorry, Arpit if you think I have shared much but I think no spoilers were touched here.
Let's start with good points 1) To the point narration - Straight narration style. No words out of place. Every event, character, scene is relevant to the story. 2) Easy to follow language usage. 3) Amalgamation of high-fi sci-fi topics with spirituality 4) Awesome cover art 5) The naming of characters - Found it unique and relevant to the storyline 6) On top of all, kudos to the author's imagination
Coming to point of improvements 1) The good point (narration style) is also accountable for too plain narration. It is super-duper fast once any event occurred and normal once things are normal. Maybe people like the reverse. I like to read more about those special events. 2) Though the story has twist and turns. The author has started two-three such incidents which have garnered a good amount of eagerness. But it was not able to satisfy my interest after reading. For example entry to another city, invasion of intruders. I would not have mind reading 50-100 pages more if he has elaborated further because I didn't find a single boring page in the book.
Don't worry, the book is still wonderful even after giving improvement points.
The code of manavas is a book set in 2050 .All the humans have ceased to exist and only a few human survive who has managed to genetically develop themselves and a now call Manavas. They have defeated disease and aging . They have managed to survive for a million of years. The book also refers to the Hindu mythological era calculation system according to which the Kalyug has passed causing destruction and near end of the humankind. However is after a peaceful existence of a million years these Manavas are facing again a complete destruction which might lead to their extinction Krishna who is the protagonist and one who stop the destruction previous time is again looking for some solution for this unknown terror . The book was very interesting to read it has a good narration the language as easy and simple to follow. There is a beautiful amalgamation of science and spirituality along with the major Hindu mythological references overall it is a good book for someone who is slightly familiar with the Hindu mythology otherwise there is lot of concepts which they might not understand. It is a good book is someone still wants to get into Hindu mythology and read about it. I highly recommended for its innovation and uniqueness
The Code Of Manavas is the first book in the Maha Vishnu Trilogy.
Genre : Indian Mythology / Science Fiction
First of all, I was thrilled to try out this book since this book contains a rare combo of Indian Mythology and Science Fiction. Most Indian Mythology books are simply mythology itself or mythology + fantasy.
This book follows Krishna, a scientist who belongs to the race of Manavas, who are the descendants of Humans, who have ceased to exist. The Manavas are immune to death and diseases, thanks to their technology.
The plot and storyline are really engaging. Literally they have to find a new planet since the earth ( Bhoomi) can no longer support them. So they are in a quest which is headed by Krishna, to find a new sustainable planet to live.
What I liked is the tension of the plot. It's fast paced and engaging. It will really keep you guessing until the end. The storyline is unique and a breath of fresh air. Considering all these, the book should have been a 4 stars for me but here me out!
What I didn't like the most is the Writing. Yes, the writing interrupted my enjoyment a lot.
One of my Bookish Pet Peeves ( things I don't like in a book) is the lack of world building. I strongly believe that what in a book works for me is the correct amount of description in the beginning chapters.
This book kinda was less descriptive where I wanted to know what was happening and also it gave me descriptions of what I didn't care about. I will give you some examples.
1. The book doesn't have descriptions on how the people and the places look like. C'mon this is a dystopian society. There should be some portrayal of how the city/place looks like when we know that it's gonna die soon.
2.The only descriptions were about Krishna, the protagonist. More than one time he is been described of wearing a yellow traditional cloth like thing ( I don't know the name). But not his friends or co worker's clothing is mentioned. And I couldn't understand why he was wearing dresses like Lord Krishna himself. I thought humans didn't wear such things, then why are our successors wearing them. If there is a reason, then it's not described very well.
3. In some sentences, brackets were used to add some more info/words which I found annoying and it could have been replaced by comas (,). That would have been less distracting. I just didn't know why! I will give you an example.
Here, this a description of a view of moon
" Rounded by the resetting of its molten surface, the moon (with its lowered orbit) had grown bigger and brighter (in appearance). "
I just didn't fancy that brackets in between.
Even then, this was a solid read and I can understand why this book is loved. This book is definitely worth trying if you are ok with some minute details.
Enthralling is what I would Say!!! The Code of Manavas is a smooth and beautiful blend of Science and Mythology. First 40 or so pages of the book were dragging very slowly, but once past that hurdle, the book was simply captivating and kept you HOOKED to the very last page!
Review The Code of Manavas by Arpit Bakshi is part 1 of the Vishnu Trilogy. This is a story set in Madhavpur and Ayudhpur; the only cities that exist on Bhoomi (The erstwhile Earth). Its 2 million past the year 2050, and the people here are not the ordinary humans but a new race of humans known as Manavas. Kali-Yuga has ended and the Swarnim-Yuga of Manavas is in imminent danger from a threat from the inside of the trusted people of Krishna, to usurp the Manava Clan for power revenge and greed and Nature itself. Nature has depleted its resources and taking its revenge, because of Humans meddling with Nature, their Greed, and Selfishness.
The Saviour; Past and the present The Protagonist Krishna is a scientist and the sole reason of humans A.K.A Manavas survival after the Apocalypse of The Earth. The Founder of Bhoomidian, an organic compound which is keeping Bhoomi Manavas intelligent, free of old age and illness. But here is a catch!!! Bhoomidian has an adverse effect on Bhoomi’s geological system.
Like in Dwaparyuga, Krishna is doing his utmost to save the Manavas in Swarnim Yuga. Will Krishna be able to save Manavas?
Praise for the Author Author Arpit Bakshi has done a very good job of naming the characters after many names of Krishna and Radha. Krishna, Mohan, Shyam, Radhika, Meera, Vallabha and many more… The spell Author cast on his readers is as musical and sweet as Krishna’s flute. He has done thorough research in Science and Mythology. And the concoction we get of these 2 poles apart genres is simply mind-blowing, it leaves you for craving more.
The book and the narration Language is very easy to understand. Scientific terms used in the book are nicely explained and makes the whole experience of reading very thrilling. The book is very fast paced. The Code of Manavas leaves you in Cliffhanger, wanting more – craving more.
Why I recommend it! Oh! It’s a must must read. And I assure you, that you won’t regret a bit. WAITING FOR THE SECOND PART OF THE BOOOOK!!!!
Krishna and his legends. We all know at least one of the mythological stories about him. It's the one in future(𝕿𝖎𝖒𝖊 𝖎𝖘 𝖗𝖊𝖑𝖆𝖙𝖎𝖛𝖊). But what is not myth is climate change and global warming. After knowing about it all since 1900 we still continue to ignore it like it's nothing.
Our protagonist here is Krishna. A genius scientist equipped with cutting edge technical resources of his time. Krishna has discovered an element known as Bhoomidium which made humans(us) into evolutionized Manavas. But there are unknown evils who are no less in pushing earth to the brink of destruction. Manavas have very little time in hand to save themselves. In between Krishna along with his friend discovers one more interesting thing. Read the book to know more.
The book is the technological adoption of mythological characters. Author has narrated the story in so perfect way as if the reader with no tech background can as well easily understand. Slow paced beginning is unstoppable after getting in pace. Enjoyed reading it. Highly recommended.
I thank @kp_reviews and @author_arpit for the review copy.
As you might be aware of, till now that mythology is my go to genre. If a book is a mytho in anyways I'll pick it up and read it. And similarly this book "The code of manavas" seems to be a mythology because of the cover but it is of a complete different genre i.e., sci-fi.
The book sets in Swarnim Yuga which is the era after the Kali Yuga. Krishna, the protagonist of the book is facing a couple of problems. Primarily, the continuous depletion of the Bhoomidium levels was bothering him secondly, there was a saboteur at work who was constantly vandalizing Krishna's plans. Bhoomidium was very essential to maintain the race of Manavas. Because of this thing Manavas are much more rational, intelligent and calmer. Assuming a catastrophe in future, Krishna with the help of some unknown sources unraveled a new world called Prithvi and creates a life source on it. He was planning to migrate before the cataclysm but some unwanted things happened.
Initially I was liking the book, the setting was beautiful, the description of the scenes was mind blowing, character of Krishna was very chirpy, writing style was surreal. I mean everything was just on point as per my liking but after chapter 4, it just went down the hill.
It was started getting monotonous and a bit boring as well. Additionally, the plot was not making sense to me anymore. I was hoping alot from this book but page by page it started requiring me some efforts to read it further. It is definitely not a page turner and I felt like taking breaks while reading it. The narrative was getting slow beat by beat and was too technical at times.
This book belongs to Sci-fi genre with a hint of mythology. But I won't consider this book as a mythology because there was nothing in context of it except the name of the characters.
Personally, Sci-fi is not my genre. I don't read this specific genre much or like the books based on it. Similar thing happened with this one. This book is definitely not for me. Or for anyone who is not a big fan of Sci-fi.
In a nutshell, I won't recommend this book. But if this book is not for me it doesn't mean that it is not for anyone. I am sure that people who love this genre will love this book too. It was just a boring, monotonous, slow and a gibberish book for me.
The book is set in the future and begins with the description of an advanced group of people called Manavas who have evolved from humans with the help of a mysterious element, Bhoomodium. Bhoomodium increases the cognitive efficacy of the people and also renders them immortal but it has other consequences that they discover as time progresses. The author's research on cosmic phenomenon and scientific facts regarding brain functioning is apparent throughout the book. The Krishna in the Swarnim Yuga and the Krishna that we all know from the Dwapara Yuga have been connected to each other in a variety of interesting angles but I wish that they had been explored more. While the first couple of chapters were engaging, the book started to veer off into expected tangents as the story progressed. The introduction of a tragic love story and a partial love triangle seemed unnecessary seeing that it did not play any role in plot development. It seemed half-hearted with the introduction of the characters of Vallabha and Meera who was created just to satisfy the author's need to introduce female characters into the story. The lack of representation of women as lead characters or even as council members irked me but what really upset me was how the other women were depicted. The so-called 'guide' who knows the lay of the land ends up twisting her ankle and having to be carried by the man, she does not notice that a Leopard is stalking her even though it is her job to collect samples and must always be aware of her surroundings. She is then again rescued by the 'hero' of the story. The woman who claims to be strong and is outdoorsy falls off the boat at the beginning of the journey and needs to doze and rest while the man who hardly ever ventures out of his lab gets them to their destination. A very obvious 'damsel in distress rescued by the brilliant man' theme was apparent throughout the book. The women were all portrayed as having only romance on their minds with both Vallabha and Radhika needing validation of their feelings from Krishna. The book was slow in some parts but skipped over details in others. The sentence flow did not seem consistent, almost like it was edited by multiple people at multiple places and it was not brought together in the end. The plot was pretty much see-through throughout the book and none of the characters were particularly likable to me.
Krishna is a Chief Scientific advisor of the council and is working to discover the new place to save the new race called Manavas from the upcoming adversity. The book has been set some million years past AD 2050 when Earth has ceased to subsist. The race of Manavas now exists on Bhoomi residing in only two territories naming Madhavpur and Ayudhpur. Initially, I thought this book has nothing to do with Lord Krishna and his stories and only his name has been used to make a modern sci-fi novel. But, later in the book after around a hundred pages, the reference to Lord Krishna and his times came into the picture. The entry of the hermit named Gopaldas made all the difference. There is the unique thing in the characters’ names that all of them has been named on Lord Krishna’s other names and also, female characters on the names of his beloved. The book is a modern interpretation of science and technology with the mix of imagination and mythological tales.
What was Good • The plot is very much distinct. The story and the idea of the book is phenomenal and exceptional. • The book has the magnificent blend of science, creativity and mythological characters which is rare to be written. • During initial reading, I made up my mind to rate this book 3.5 stars but the second half of the book changed my perception. It was engaging, appealing and winning. The second half of the book made up for the disinterest which was felt during the first part of the book. And now I really want to read the second installment in the series.
What wasn’t Good • During the first fifty sixty pages, I had no idea what the book was all about and where it was heading. I felt as if the book is going nowhere and just reporting all the scientific terms with no proper story. It was only after around a hundred pages, that the book started to make sense and the plot came into the picture. • The first half of the book is quite dull owing to use of too many scientific terms as if the whole scientific jargons have been put up only in the first half of the novel because the second part was deprived of it. The author should have balanced the use of scientific knowledge in the book thus avoiding one part being heavier with the terms.
Why to read this book The book is an impressive mix of Science and fantasy with the fitting tinge of Mythology which is very rare to be written. This book will definitely be loved by Science and mythology fiction readers.

The Code Of Manavas is an introduction to our world but in a new form. We have now entered the Swarnim Yuga after the Kali Yuga after the 2050s. The modern man has been upgraded to Manavas with more abilities than the man of kaliyuga. However, Krishna, a focused man, along with his colleagues is still finding a new habitat for the Manavas due to the problems faced by Bhoomi.
The title does go with the book.
The language is complicated. The structure of the book is good but the writing style is twisted and the author has played with words. Though this upgrades the book from 'any kind of' book, the words used are too strong.
The book has everything in it, all emotions, duties, hardships and suspense that makes a sci-fi plus mythology interesting. The concept of a new Yuga has has given way to a new world but in my opinion, the book cannot be read by everyone due to its technical approach. Though the concept of this book is pretty easy to understand, the language does make it complicated. In the end, I would like to recommend the book to the sci-fi lovers and to the people who want to explore something new.
I received this book as part of The Book Genie Review Program.
There are few things that I absolutely loved in this book.
First is connecting the events, characters, incidents and places with story of Lord Krishna that happened in Mahabharat with the modern touch. Second is this fictional world created by the author. Every little detail is very well explained. Even the minor characters are given a strong backstory.
I also loved the how the book ended. The last few chapters are very well-written. The beginning is a little slow. It might take a little time to get the grip of the story.
I received this book as part of The Book Genie Review Program.
The summary is enough to give you a gist of the story so I'd spare you the plot details and jump straight to my feedback.
But first I want to take a moment to say that how beautiful the cover is. It's fascinating and gives you an idea that you're going to read about Hindu mythology but you'll be surprised to know that it's not the case, at least, not completely.
This book is a blend of mythology and science fiction. A rare and almost contradictory mix if you ask me and a risky one too, only when not executed properly and I'm so glad that the author didn't disappoint us, the readers, as the execution is not just brilliant it also gives you a satisfactory product of creative imagination of the author mixed with the vivid narration and enthralling plot.
We have been told, time and time again that everytime there was an apocalypse bound to happen to wipe the trace of humanity from the face of the universe, An avatar of God saved us. We are all well aware that one of the Avatar's of Lord Vishnu; The protector of universe, is Krishna.
The protagonist of our story, the saviour of the world, Krishna resembles Lord Krishna in many ways except that he's a scientist who may be the last hope to save the world once again as tragedy strikes.
I loved the fact that author used several names of Lord Krishna and other mythological characters that were associated with him. The resemblance between the protagonist and Lord Krishna was captivating and I was wondering if it's a way of foreshadowing the characters fate.
The narrative of the book, the symbolic imagery is vivid and takes your imagination to next level. I was enchanted by the writing style and the emotional turmoil of our protagonist was something I could relate to though the characterisation was weak at points.
I was hooked from the start there was nothing that I found distracting. I felt that the pace at the start was a little slow but it was to give the readers an insight on what is coming next, The pace becomes fast afterwards but the transition was smooth so I have nothing to complain about.
The language is easy and the scientific terms you might find confusing are explained properly. I also loved that the author provided us a glossary at the end of the book. Brownie points for being thoughtful.
The cliffhanger had me dying from anticipation so I'd like to request the author to release the second book ASAP.
The first thing that caught my attention was the fact that it was a mythological science-fiction! Can’t say I have read or even heard of many of those! Lord Krishna being my absolute favorite mythological character just deepened my interest.. Was I really going to pass an opportunity to read Lord Krishna tinkering with science.. some two million years later..Nah.. I think not! 😛
So, I had to pick this book up!
I found the beginning slow and difficult to grasp with all the new terms and unprecedented setting.. Thank the lord for the glossary at the end of the book.. 😀 The story gradually picks up pace and becomes an absolute page turner. Surprises kept pouring in and I honestly did not know what to expect. I mean there was this dinosaur fight where Krishna and two other people are in that realistic simulation in the nascent Prithvi!! The brachiosaurus and T-Rex fight was my one of the favorite parts of the book. The language is good and I liked the way it was written. The mythological references thrown in here and there were fun to read too.
That being said I had a few issues with the book as well. The time-space is quite scattered. Since it takes us across millions of years and multiple planets at their different stages, some kind of chapter indicators might have made the reading easier. Apart from that, I would like to see some strong female representation as well. The very few women who appear in the story.. the apparently modern and strong women are also mildly portrayed as ‘the damsel in distress’ who needs the man’s validation..
Overall, ‘The Code of Manavas’ was a good debut and is definitely worth a read. Kudos to the author for the concept. I am going to come back to this series when the next book is out.. for the unanswered questions and as I said before, can’t stay away from Krishna tinkering with science! 😛
Code of Manavas is a Sci-fi fiction. It's a story where the Manavas are running out of time faster than they can imagine and there are no inhabitable planets to escape to. Where Krishna has to prepare a new abode for the Manavas before an impending apocalypse destroys them. many more
The Storyline of the book is completely Different. The plot of the book is magnificent. it is unique and distinct from other stories. The narration of the story is apt.
The language of the book is straightforward, although at some places jargons used by the writer made it bit difficult to read. The writing style of the author is Lucid. The story is good but then changing Plots makes the story more perplexing.
The characters that the author made have been satisfactory, despite the fact that there were some characters which had been not polished. Again too many characters made me more confused.
The pace of the book is slow. The flow of the story is smooth. There are twists and turns in the story but It was hard for me to hook up with the story. With each chapter, it was getting difficult to complete the book.
This book has Drama, Twists, Mystery which makes this book an interesting read for those who love reading Sci-fi Fiction.
Can we, for once, marvel at the fact that this is the first review there is of this book on Goodreads?
"I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review."
"When the sole purpose of existence becomes existence itself, does it not defy the very purpose of higher living?" - Arpit Bakshi, The Code of Manavas
I particularly liked this line from the book. It had a deeper meaning to it that a lot of humans these days need to see. What I mean is that nowadays, all that we're busy in is using our smartphones and chatting, passing on commentary of nonsensical issues. This really gets me thinking exactly what are we doing with ourselves?
Nonetheless, philosophy apart, The Code of Manavas is the first book of the Maha Vishnu Trilogy, written by Arpit Bakshi, that revolves around a possible human living at a time when humans are immortal. However, no one can be immortal without consequences, and that is the major theme of the novel.
What I liked about the book was how each character was named after a different name of Kanha. Krishna, Gopal, Vasudevan, Shyam, Mohan—everyone was there. Why they presented different character traits was beyond me, sadly. I mean, they should have similar character traits, shouldn't they? After all, they are the same person. But according to the story, they weren't and that was a nice touch done by the author.
Throughout the major part of the book, I was concerned whether Krishna was genuine about his claims with others or was he deliberately lying, as in could he really not understand what was going on or was that all a hoax? There was some lack of words during those few pages where he had to explain his project to others. On the other hand, Radhika seemed to be a rather underdeveloped character. What she wants, what she needs, what she does—they didn't co-relate half the time. Or maybe she was just queer that way.
The point-of-view rapidly changed form one character to other, but strangely, I barely noticed it. I was busy reading and liking the book as it was. Besides, the word meanwhile added a lot more meaning to the change in point-of-view.
Another thing that I really liked about the book was how I could actually feel each emotion as I turned through the pages. It was as if, I was connected to the book in a way that I did not expect. Perhaps, that is a clear indication of how smooth and great Bakshi's writing was. The plot of the book was also rather intriguing.
In a nutshell, it was a great book and I cannot wait to read the next installment of the trilogy! If you're new to the genre of fantasy and science fiction, then you should probably try it out.
Book's name: The code of manavas Author's name: Arpit Bakshi Publisher: Rupa publications My ratings: 3.5/5
This book was the first of its kind I read. Mythology mixed with science - fiction. I really enjoyed reading this different genre but detailed explanation of detailed technological aspects made it a drag and laborious read.
The protagonist of the story Krishna lives in Madhavpur and is keen on saving the lives of his fellow manavas( a better species of humans who are living on Bhoomi since millions of years) which is under threat. He realized that Bhoomi will no longer support life so he decided to search for another which they can accommodate. He found a planet named Prithvi which has similar environmental conditions as theirs and so he decided to research whether that planet will support life. As he is busy in his research another threat lurks in the street of Madhavpur. Someone from inside his council is planning his and his whole community's fall. The rest of the story is about how he manages to find the deceiver and deal with him with the help of his most trusted friend Mohan and his uncle Shyam along with the help from his neighbor city Ayudhpur. What happens when they decide to move on to new planet Prithvi is worth reading. The last plot twist left me in complete shock. I would really love to find out more about the story in the sequel of the book.
The book's cover was beautiful. It might attract the readers. It has a beautiful picture of Lord Krishna giving an idea about the mythological genre. The title also fits the theme of the novel.
The Code of Manavas is an amazing Sci-fi book which gives the reader the experiences of reading fantasy, science, mythology and thriller all together in one go! It is the first part in the Maha Vishnu Trilogy. The story is set in future, where the Swarnim Yuga has started marking the end of Kali Yuga. It is about Krishna, our protagonist, who discovers an element BHOOMIDIUM, which is instrumental in transforming the Modern Man into highly advanced Manavas! Basically, this element is the lifeline on Bhoomi (the erstwhile earth) ! Now, the real story unfolds! The levels of this element are depleting day by day, and our scientist Krishna has got the new mission for finding the safest abode for the then Manavas! But as usual, there's a villain in the story who wants to destroy Krishna and subjugate each Manava! So, what will happen to this new race? Will Krishna be able to find a safe place in time? Will this mark the end of Swarnim Yuga? To unfold the suspense, read the book! So, the story takes the pick up from here and keeps you totally gripped till the very cliffhanging end. What is the genre of the book? Is it mythology? Is it scifi? It is a thriller? Kind readers, it is the perfect fusion of the above stated genres! With a fast-paced and a suspenseful narration, the author has created a fresh, brilliant and a mythology cum technical layout to astonish the reader! I personally enjoyed the BHOOMIDIUM concept and it is really genius of the author. The writing style is perfect in all the ways! The story is set in far future, but it never seemed to be lacking anything! As if the author time-travelled to the future, noted down everything, came back in the present and wrote the book! The plot is really intriguing and technical! Secondly, the character development is moderately well written. The most important thing is the storytelling knack of the author which keeps the reader glued to the book! The details, are just apt for the layout. The books flows with ease, with the least disruption. The use of technical terms never broke the flow! The cover art is marvellous and the title apt for the theme. The way he has managed to creatively fuse mythology and technology is really commendable! Definitely a page-turner! The end is extremely intriguing and leaves you with a cliffhanger! Also at the end, a glossary has been provided to help you with all the technical tes! I am really anticipating to read the sequel in this series to unfold the cliffhanger! Overall, i really enjoyed this refreshing read!

Book : The Code of Manavas Author: Arpit Bakshi Favourite quote: When the sole purpose of existence becomes existence itself, does it not defy the very purpose of higher living. Review: This is the first part of the trilogy in which the plot is set in future after the end of kalyuga. Now a new race of manavas exist on bhoomi which is divided into Madhavpur and Ayudhpur who are now facing extinction. So how does our protagonist Krishna save them from extinction. Read on to find out.... The book has an interesting approach set in the far future makes you intrigued right from the first chapter. The choice of vocabulary is endearing. Plot was great and well built over time. Characterisation was good I kind of loved how all the names connected our history and future. The story flows well but the pace drops in the middle but it quickly recovers. So my advice is don’t give up on the story too soon stick with it too the end and you won’t be disappointed.
💗The cover of the book is beautiful and title of the book is relevant to the story. The author has sucessfully formed a great combination of mythology with sci fi. The storyline is fresh and I really liked the book. Overall the book was really good read and I enjoyed reading it.💗 💗The uniqueness of the book is all the main male characters has the names of Lord Krishna and female have names of his beloved.💗 💗The author has left story on such a heartbreaking note that I am eagerly waiting for the sequel to see how things turn out. Looking forward to the next book in the trilogy. 💗 Recommended to everyone esp. sci fi as well as mythology lovers.

Arpit's writing really stands out as something fantastic. The plot and characters are well thought out. Though the book was a bit long, the action never felt contrived. Every page was full of succinct descriptions, and dialogues that never felt strained.
The Code of Manavas is the first book of the Maha Vishnu Trilogy, written by Arpit Bakshi. He does it in style like a Veteran in a sci-fi meets religion creates codes. Fantasy is the skin of the novel and hence, an exit from the same old, same heard myths. 👀✨ @Arpitbaxi 's Code of Manavas is an extension of the genre which is so much popular in India and it can be here only, because of the minions of stories which occupy our ancestral cosmic sky. Madhavpur and Ayudhpur are the two cities which will be etched in your memories as another story which gestures at infinity. 🌏
I read the book in parts, took a while to get into the zone due to my ascent in these genres, I have learnt that you read this book like to are savouring a complex dish. If immortality is your thing, this is her daddy. 😄😉 This is the historics of a world you didn't happen to know, which has impacted a lot of impressions so much so, getting to know a hundred characters doesn't seem like a tall task. Read it if you will, it won't disappoint you. Your fears will be relinquished with the skilled writing and editing. @rupa_publications does an amazing job again with the cover, presentation and overall ethos wise!
Title: The Code of Manavas ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Author: Arpit Bakshi
Thank you @author_arpit for sending me ur book in return of an honest review and here it is.
My Review: The storyline is about the future, two million years past AD 2050. The Kali-yuga has transformed into Swarnim yuga and Bhoomi (the erstwhile earth) has been inherited by the new successor - the Manavas. Despite being the epitome of human evolution, they are still facing the problems caused by the humans 2 million years ago. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The main character in the story is our beloved Krishna who is working hard to protect the Manavas from destruction. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And in between his effort and what happened next there lies so many difficulties to deal with and also to make the matter worse there is someone among them who wants to destroy Krishna and all the Manavas. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To know what happens next? Will Krishna be able to save Manavas? What will be the price to pay? Who is that foe among friends who want to destroy Krishna and manavas, you should pick the book. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌸The most lovely part of the book is the narration, the way the story has been told is gorgeous. 🌸It's a science fiction with the flavour of mythology and that makes this book technologically and spiritually unique. 🌸The way Krishna has been described and presented is so beautiful, I didn't imagine him as a god while reading because it was too real. The whole story revolves around Krishna and his efforts to save manavas. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌸The language is simple not that complex but few words are there which are scientific but the author has defined all those terms at the end of the book. 🌸long read, so while reading patience will be the key. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌸The end will make you crave for the second part of the book. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌸Highly recommended to the people who are into science fiction and mythology, well everyone should read this book because the way the author has imagined all the things about the future and connected it with Lord Vishnu is incredible.
I was eyeing on this book for a while now. And finally i got to read it. First of all let's start from the title. The title is perfectly matched with the story. Then the cover. Isn't it pretty?? Yeah, i liked the cover. You can think that this book is about mythology. But let me tell you this is not. It's a mixture of sci-fi and mythology. The author blends these two genres amazingly. The mythological characters are shown as scientists in the story. Krishna whom we know as Lord, is a scientist and he is saving the world in some scientific manner. Characterization could have been much better. There are some scientific terms which you can find difficult, but don't worry there's a glossary of all those terms at the end of the book. The pace of the story is slow. It's a long read, so you have to keep patience. The language is simple, not so difficult. The storyline of this book is a bit dragged. I felt bore in the first half of the story. But in the last few pages i was hooked up. And after finishing it, now I'm craving for the second part of the book. I'll recommend this book to them who like reading sci-fi. Yeah, this is a must read. I received this book as part of the bookgenie review programme(http://www.thebookgeniepr.wordpress.com/)

The code of Manavas" is the first book of the Maha Vishnu trilogy, written by Arpit Bakshi is a mythological cum sci-fi fiction which revolves around a new world of Manavas,a new race of human being, surviving after the apocalypse of the earth on Bhoomi which was invented by great scientist Krishna(protagonist).Due to krishna's unique invention ,they were Immortal, wise, free of old age and illness. But somewhere Krishna noticed, Manavas were in danger because something went wrong with his invention which was looming another apocalypse.so he tried to find a possibility for survival. The beauty of Arpit Bakshi writing lies in his intricately designed plot. Storyline is unconventional. Reader likes me who is not into this genre, was bit hard to digest at first . 😆.This book is more of sci-fi with little bit tinge of mythological background makes the book compelling . Pages were little bit dragging till 60-80 ,after that it was an unputdownable reading experience. All the characters were well developed . Pace of the book was slow but smooth . Twists & turns in the story , specially among characters was taken the story to an another level. Scientific researchs, conspiracy theories which author blended beautifully with the story. Glossary at the end , made the book informative(specially for those who are not into sci-fi)overall it was an interesting read . ✍️ I would, recommend it to those who love reading sci-fi fiction. And if this genre doesn't excite you , skip this book.
"Perfection almost always brings along isolation was what Krishna had learned early in his youth, from days when his newly discovered genius brought him some rapid recognition." I like the thought; it is so practical and apt nowadays.
The code of Manavas is the first book of the Maha Vishnu Trilogy. This science fiction is set in past AD 2050 when Kali-Yuga has transformed into Swarnim-Yuga and the earth, which is named as boomi (in the book) is inherited by new heirs called, ‘Manavas’ who are divided in two territory Madhavpur and Ayudhpur. This science fiction also revolves around protagonist Krishna, who is the chief scientist who has the responsibility to save the new race by escaping to a new planet.
The book is the right blend of science, mythology and creative fiction. The narration of the story is good as the language is simple and understandable. But again to many characters in the book make it little slow as at times it is hard to remember all the names. Overall, I can say it was good read for me and I hope you will also enjoy reading this book if you are science fiction lover.
This is my first sci-fi book and I loved it. I never expected this to be soo captivating. The story is from the cities of Madhavpur and Ayudhpur, set in millions of year past 2050. The people of these cities were known as Manavas and they aren't ordinary humans. The plot is after the Pralay and those who were left who follow the code of Manavas and they fought against aging. I just loved the author's narration. It was spot on. The language was easy. Author's inagination is vivid with good twists and turns. I felt the plot was unique and detailed.
I liked the pace of the book, the way it develops. From a slow paced book to a fast paced one. The characters are realistic and are named after different names of Krishna: Mohan, Shyam, Vitthal, Narayan, with different character traits. The scenes have been described in detail and were easy to visualize.
