This book wasn't difficult to read or understand, I liken it to reading a Confession of Faith, but much longer. Or reading a very short Systematic Theology. Regardless, this work is very comprehensible and a benefit to those who might want to get into reading the older Systematics without being stuck reading a giant book by Calvin or one of his contemporaries.

He has many good discussions within the book about the covenant of works, the covenant of grace, original sin, man's Depravity, angels, God, creation, the 10 commandments, and many other topics each of which he quotes much Scripture to defend his ideas. He also advises his readers to read what Calvin says about a subject so that they may receive a better understanding of what he is writing about.
