As a woman, you have a built-in ability to be charming. You deliver a look or you use a certain tone of voice and you're able to work your way with men. In an instant, you can melt a man's heart.
When you meet a man you're attracted to, you turn on that charm, you deliver a coy smile, you walk away and he's hooked. Yet, when it comes to texting, you're all thumbs. You're anxious and you feel incompetent. You lose all confidence.
As a result, you text instinctively, like a woman, which is the natural thing for you to do. You can quickly get emotional and frustrated when he doesn't respond as soon as you would like. You might bomb him with texts, getting more worried with each one.
All this emotion, anger and frustration is normal. Your flirting skills have evolved over millions of years. Flirting comes as naturally to you as flight to a bird. When you're standing face-to-face with a man, you're good but when you're facing the tiny screen on your phone, you're perplexed.
That's because you expect him to respond like your girlfriends do.
Guy's don't! We never evolved!
Inside Text Him This Not That is not just how to formulate a great text but how to understand the male mind. This is as much about learning how his mind works as it is about learning how to formulate texts he can't resist. "As a woman, you have a built-in ability to be charming... yet when it comes to texting, you're all thumbs."
The goal of this book is to teach women, from a man's perspective, what you're doing wrong when texting a new guy and what you should be texting. There's dating advice mingled throughout, but overall, I felt like the book was a tad repetitive. There were a lot of good points, especially regarding the quantity of texts and when to NOT text him back and just let it go. I confess that in the past I have been guilty of a few of the no-no's mentioned. Texting is such a difficult thing to grasp in dating. How much is too much? Is this okay to say? Why isn't he texting back? and so on. This book, however, feels more like an essay and there are a lot of plug-ins for his other books. It's a quick read with some good tips and information, but I felt like it was lacking something.
Would've given 5 stars however redundancies existed throughout the book (which is hilarious since men prefer less) and it lacked many of the complexities faced in actual online dating world today. Otherwise, a very insightful read to understanding the male brain relative to texting in the online dating world!
Examples throughout the book are on-par but could be expanded by relating to more in-depth modern day situations! For instance, how to handle men pushing sexting (and nudes) as well as men asking trap questions like: what are you looking for (in a relationship sense), why are you single, how many men have you been with, do you have children, are you an animal lover, are you open-minded (aka ethical non-monogamy), are you vanilla (aka sexually uninhibited), etc. I think a female perspective on this would be helpful. As well more topics could be developed on what not to say such as: refrain from mentioning (or comparing) other men, exes or serious topics like marriage. Maybe even address more topics not to discuss that are too personal in nature as well!

It's interesting to see things from a male perspective. Some of the things mentioned, I am guilty of and breaking old habits is key to changing things.
Amazingly insightful viewpoint of the male side of communication. It very much does help to understand the differences in the way men and women think and learn to find common ground.Speaking for any female like me who has struggled with feeling like I'm never going to understand why men do what they do this has been an eye opening extremely helpful guide and I will definitely use many of these techniques going forward.I was given a copy of this book for an honest review namaste

I won this as a goodreads giveway. I'm not in the dating pool or looking (just so that's clear). I do however have adult children and their friends who I like to give my two cents about how I would have handled or written a text. So I thought it would be great to win this book and get another perspective. I found it informative and I will certainly pass on some of the pointers when asked.
