An action-packed box From perilous Guadalcanal to the jungles of the Solomons, the soldiers of the 164th Regiment face enemies on all sides during the height of World War II. If you like gritty WWII action, you'll love the 164th Regiment Series Boxset.
Glatte's characters are well drawn and complex. His settings are historically accurate, and his books always show a grasp of American military culture. There are some minor errors, such as the use of Navy nomenclature rather than Army ("brig" instead of "stockade," "boot camp" instead of "Basic Training") ,but they don't detract from his storytelling. In short, The 164th Regiment novels are truly page-turners.
The reader really gets attached to the characters and they are were well developed in the stories. Although, they were a work of historical fiction ; the novels give a goid portal of the island hooping that occurred during World War II. I also want to thank all the veterans that are out there that fought for the Allied Forces in WWII !
These fictionalized war stories tell about the US Army’s part in the Pacific Campaign. These were well written, the characters are very interesting and the adventure is exciting. Well worth the time.
I enjoyed reading the series of books. I could not put the books down. Chris Glatte descriptions of battles and the jungle make seem like you are there.
