Welcome to Everlasting, Maine, where there's no such thing as normal.
As a centaur, Deputy Jake Majoy (Deputy March), is immortal and has seen and done a lot in his five hundred years. Enough to know that Everlasting feels like home. It’s been perfect for him to fade away and blend in, as the town is anything but normal—and they protect their own. So, when a newcomer ends up in their midst, at the same time magical items go missing around town, it’s his duty to step in to restore law and order. But the pull he feels to the woman is anything but part of the job.
Kelsey Gibbons has (literally) followed all the signs leading to the tiny town of Everlasting, Maine. When her arrival coincides with an uptick in crime, it becomes very clear that the chaos has only just begun. And when a hunky man in uniform shows up on the scene, it’s all she can do to focus on finding answers.
Can she and Jake beat the clock and the evil that has come back to town?

It's always a sweet treat to come back to Everlasting and this time its even sweeter, with the find of Deputy Jake Majoy who is this centaur who is falling over all himself when he meets and falls head over heels for Kelsey. Kelsey just turned 25 and her life just turned upside down. She didn’t have a job or family but she receives a locket in the mail and a bus ticket to Everlasting Maine. Kelsey figures she has nothing to lose since she has nothing holding her back. So when she is in town and Deputy Jake sees her thru a window and feels the fire burning thru him …and its all for her. Well you know how this is gonna go. This is a fantastic installment that has great characters, fabulous plot, villains who needed to be taken care of and good guys who were oh so much more and awesome steaminess between Kelsey and Jake. I loved the intrigue, suspense, steaminess and passion. I enjoyed the secondary characters and previous characters who show up. I cant wait to see what comes next in this series.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
Wow! Just Wow! I absolutely loved this terrific paranormal cozy mystery. I was hooked from beginning to end.
What can I say? I laughed and I cried, really didn't want to put it down and spent all day and most of the night reading it, (chores? what chores? they'll still be there tomorrow, and who needs sleep anyway?). 'Total Eclipse of the Hunt' by Mandy Roth, one of my all-time favourite authors, is the fifth and latest book in the multi-author Happily Everlasting series of stand alone Paranormal Cozy Mysteries with clean romance. If you're not familiar with Cozy Mysteries, and this is your introduction to the wonderful world of multi-genre, clean 'who-dun-it's' for the mystery buff with an open mind and a sense of humour, you really couldn't find a better book to start with. Suitable for all ages, it's filled with terrific characters, most of which have appeared in the previous books in the series, is laugh out loud funny and comes complete with a heart-warming, gentle romance and a happily ever after which left me with a smile on my face and a desperate need to read more in this terrific series.
Kesley Gibbons is all alone in the world, she has no family, no friends, no-one who'd even notice is she disappeared so it was something of a surprise when she got a present on her 25th birthday. She'd never had one before, and this one was really something else. It came with a one-way bus ticket to the town of Everlasting, Maine, a place she'd never heard of and really wasn't interested in seeing, until her life in Boston disintegrated in less than a week and she had nowhere else to go. It looked quaint and friendly so she found a place to stay, packed what little she had and got on the bus....
Jake Majoy, better known as Deputy March thanks to Sheriff Bull's calendar, five hundred year old were-centaur and former big city Detective was having a frustrating day which was about to get a whole lot worse. Investigating a theft from Hunted Treasures he sees a woman who has an instant impact on both his human and were sides. He really didn't understand why he was turning into a born again clumsy teenager with a tongue tied in knots. Until Wilbur Messing told him, but that couldn't be right. His senses told him Kelsey was human, and he'd given up on ever finding his mate a century ago, about the same time he didn't do what was ordered and became an outcast from his clan. And then...
Nope, not giving spoilers. This terrific book that had me hooked from beginning to end, I cried for Kesley and the life she's had, but she's getting by. I loved the bumbling version of a dumb-struck Jake and was glad for both of them, became gravely suspicious of knitting, which I've done all my life and never had that effect on anyone, hated the evil witches, laughed at Petey, Hugh, Carl, Mrs Mays, others and I absolutely loved this book. The town of Everlasting, carefully created by four exceptional award winning authors, is a wonderful, wacky and magical place filled with equally wonderful, wacky and magical characters. All the books in the series can be read as stand alones, and in any order, but I think, if you want to read all of them, you'd get more out of each book if you read them in order and watch the town and the characters grow and interact. I've loved them all, but this is the best so far and I really can't wait to read the next one. I'd give it a hundred stars if I could, it's on my list of books to rescue if the house was burning down and I've put it in the re-read pile where I'm pretty sure it will stay no matter how many times I read it. It really is that good! I just have one question - Who or what is Barney Fife?
A paranormal cozy mystery romance. Part of the Everlasting series, a town of paranormals.
A bit humorous in the situations and characters. Adorable hero and heroine on their reactions to each other and their instant attraction. Good wins over evil in a rainbow of magic and gathering of friends.
“Holy guacamole, I’m like a rainbow wizard or something!”
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Total Eclipse of The Hunt is Mandy Roth’s second novel in the multi-authored, Happily Everlasting series. The series takes place in the town of Everlasting, Maine. Kelsey Gibbons is a loner who lives a quiet life. As an orphan bounced around from foster home to foster home Kelsey is used to being alone and depending only on herself. But when a mysterious package shows up on her doorstep on her 25th birthday, her world is shaken up and she ends up on a wild adventure, in a town she has never heard of.
Deputy Jake Majoy, has lived in Everlasting, Maine for some time now. He’s settled, he likes his job, his friends and enjoys his calm existence. He is not looking to change that anytime soon and he especially is not looking for a girlfriend to complicate things. But when things start coming up missing when a new girl arrives in town, he’s thrown into an investigation that threatens to upset his entire state of being.
I loved, loved this book. It really gave me that warm, fuzzy feeling. It was so sweet and heart wrenching. Kelsey is sweet, kind and brave and it’s sad that she’s been all alone her whole life. Jake is a good guy, who was shunned for doing the right thing, but who still maintained his pride. It was so heartwarming to see these two find each other, come together and not be alone anymore. And of course it was fun to see the antics of the other hilarious characters from previous stories; Hugh and Penelope, Curt, Sigmund, and Petey, Jolene and Wilbur, Polly and Anna. They were all present and causing as much trouble if not more as before. I love this series, the stories are so real, feels like a place you want to visit. I certainly can’t wait to read more happily ever afters for my favorite characters, hopefully Curt or Sigmund or Wilbur or even Leopold. It will be interesting to see who’s next to find love in the town of Everlasting.
This series keeps blowing me away. This book totally eclipsed my heart. I was so excited that one of the calendar cops got a book I never expected that in a million years! I loved all the characters and enjoyed seeing some returns of past ones. The heroines reactions to meeting Petey at the beginning were so funny. I just love Mandy Roth’s writing, she always makes me laugh.
This is the third book in the Happily Everlasting series and the second consecutive contribution by author Mandy M, Roth. I think Ms. Roth will forgive me if I say this series is not meant to be what the intellectuals call “Great Literature.” I don’t think anyone will be forcing high school or college lit. students to read these books some day in the future unless it’s a writing class and they need an example of writing that is light, fun and a quick read. It’s okay but I quite honestly didn’t care for it as much as her first book Once Hunted Twice Shy. In this book the lead male from the last book Hugh Lupine and his BFF Curt in their limited appearances act like overgrown adolescents. The Petey character goes from a quirky but wise and loving borderline alcoholic favorite uncle character to someone who is certifiable. I mean Petey has totally lost touch with reality in this story. There’s not the humor found in Once Hunted with Hugh substituting ridiculous words for swear words. And the idea that once Kelsey our heroine sees the rundown dilapidated and virtually uninhabitable cabin that Petey and Polly completely misrepresented when she agreed to rent it from them, there is no way in hell anyone would have agreed to stay in it even rent free. And, we’re almost halfway through the story before Jake even meets Kelsey. He then has the same reaction to Kelsey that Hugh had when he first laid eyes on Penelope. Not that that is a bad thing. It’s always a fun moment when one of these shifters meets his fated mate and is completely overwhelmed by unfamiliar feelings of desire, possessiveness and protectiveness. In truth Jake’s reaction the first time he lays eyes on Kelsey may be the funniest moments in this story. What this story lacks in humor it does make up for in suspense and action that Once Hunted lacked. Kelsey’s life is in danger from an evil coven of witches intent on regaining their once great magical powers and she is the key to their plan.
This series is just amazing! Mandy M Roth has done it again!
It grabs you from the very first page and keeps a tight grip till the very end. If you love your PNR and Mandy M Roth books, then your gonna absolutely fall head over heals in love with Everlasting. This book like the first four is a clean PNR so it leaves all the naughty bits for your imagination.
I'm not gonna go in depth about the book cause I will end up giving away too many spoilers, and ruin all the fun for you. And fun this book is, it's fast paced and full of laugh aloud moments, and of course a mystery of who done it, which keeps you guessing. it certainly had me guessing wrong.
This book is all about Deputy March (Jake) and Kelsey. On her 25th birthday Kelsey receives an extraordinary present, and a bus ticket to a place she had never heard of, Everlasting. With everything that has happened she decides to leave her comfort zone and take a chance on Everlasting..
Deputy March is a centure shifter, outcast by his own he has kept on moving, not staying in one place for too long, but Everlasting seems to be different. He had long ago giving up all hope of ever finding that one woman who would complete him, his mate.
Can Jake and Kelsey defeat the baddies and find their HEA? well... your gonna have to read to find out. Evil?? yes I am. lol, and laugh out loud you will.
I. can't wait to read the next books in this series. If I could give this more than five stars allowed I certainly would. It is a must read. Each book in the series is a standalone, but I do strongly suggest you read in title order.
Crystal balls, moon necklaces, and magic, seriously are these people for real?
Total Eclipse of the Hunt by Mandy M. Roth is supernaturally cute cozy mystery. The little town of Everlasting, Maine is so cool. The characters that the four authors have come up with are freaking great. I enjoy the reoccurring roles of the other town folk.
And Love hits them like a brick, well Jake anyway.
Kelsey Gibbons is our female lead. She is a foster kid from Boston and truly felt like she didn’t fit in with anyone in Boston. Friends are something that Kelsey really didn't have, and she doesn’t have a lot of personal possessions. Yet, she has this really sweet personality and bravery (even if she thinks it a recent acquisition). Kelsey got a job at the antique store helping out Penelope and Wilbur when she meets Jake for the first time the instant attraction is scary and also invigorating.
Jake Majoy (Deputy March) is about to find his purpose. When Jake sees Kelsey for the first time he can’t seem to control anything, he trips over the gumball machine outside Wilbur’s shop, a few times before making it inside where he is still tripping of the antique furniture. It was endearing to see Jake so out of his normal character around Kelsey.
There are some new characters like Leopold whom we don’t really get to know that well. Then there is Mr. Reyes, and Ellsworth the bus driver. However, we also have some of our other townsfolk like High, Curt, Buster, Petey, Polly and her pet lobster Herman.
There are some pretty funny things going on and there is, of course, the mystery. Wilbur’s hunting cabin never looked better. Naked men running around in the woods. Then there is the rainbow shooting magic. I love that! Oh and don’t forget the black magic and the evil Babcock family. Happy endings are the best.
I truly enjoyed Total Eclipse of the Hunt. My rating is 4 stars. I highly recommend this series to other paranormal cozy lovers.
If you haven’t read the first book, you can check out my review Dead Man Talking.

I liked Kelsey and Jake. They had smokin' hot chemistry and the author did a great job with their relationship. It was fun seeing Deputy March getting his story told. He caught my interest in a previous book. I would have loved to see Deputy August get his comeuppance.
The mystery was interesting and different. I was a little surprised since I kept expecting somebody else to be the bad guy. I had a sneaking suspicion about who was involved in some way but the author did a good job throwing out false clues and red herrings.
This book fit in perfectly with the rest of the books. The side characters stayed true to form and the world was developed more. There were a couple of books in this series that didn't fit in. It was easy to see that those authors aren't as familiar with the paranormal cozy mystery (with a dash for romance) genre.
I found it odd that some of the books seem to exist in a different universe. The main characters from those books are never mentioned and the side characters barely show up. I would have thought that the authors would have compared notes more to make the world more seamless. I really enjoyed the books (like this one) where the old familiar faces made appearances. It's a small town. It's odd that the MC from book 1 was never heard from again. Seeing the characters from the previous books show up in this one made it feel even more familiar and like a true small town.
I'm going to miss the antics of Polly, Petey, and Wil. They quickly became favorites! I'll also miss the friendship of Hugh, Curt, Jackson, and Jake. Anna, Penelope, and Kelsey will live on fondly in my mind along with their "mates".
Yay! My favourite little oddball town is back with a bang!
This time around one of Sheriff Bull's calender hotties is getting his HEA. Deputy March (Jake Majoy) has been alone for a loooong time. He had given up hope on finding his mate and has been ostracised from his small clan of shifters, the Centaurs, for refusing to carry out a draconian punishment. As the police officers of the paranormal, Jake transitions into being the deputy in Everlasting.
Kelsey has also been alone for most of her life. A foster kid, she has pulled herself up and made a life for herself But when she receives a necklace from an unknown source her life starts to tank. Now jobless, homeless and almost penniless, she takes the bus to Everlasting. It must be the pace to go...she has seen omens and signs everywhere with the name on it!
She soon makes herself at home and even manages to survive meeting Petey! She gets a job working with Wilbur and Penelope and can't help but stare at the hottie of a deputy when he is nearby. But for such an attractive guy, he surely gets tongue ties when he is near her.
But Kelsey has a big secret to unearth, one she is not even aware of. She may even just find the family and friends she has always longed for.
Petey, Polly and Herman are again back and crashing the story and almost stealing the limelight. Jake is sweet, sexy and strong and Kelsey is just needing a break! Loved the bickering between Curt and Hugh, they have such a bromance! Lots of twists and turns and the bad guy may not be who you think!
A delightful and cozy story from the brilliant mind of Mandy Roth. I was given this book as an ARC in exchange of an honest review. With this being the second story from Mandy in the Happily Everlasting series I must say I am growing to love this place and the people in it. When a young girl named Kelsey receives a strange package and a one way ticket to Everlasting she one two minds to go or stay put. Kelsey is a point in her life being she really has no friends or family to hold her back she decides to go after all she has nothing to loose even if nothing good comes of this she'll move on like she always has. Little does she know Everlasting has plans that will forever change her life. Deputy Jake Majoy or better known as Deputy March due to him being Mr. March on some calendar was hanging out at the local garage while his SUV was being look at. Jake's kind was rare, he was shun from the very ones he called family and friends due to action he would not take because he knew it was wrong to do so. So when the bus that pass through town (YES the same one with Kelsey) arrives bringing both a blast from the past something he sooner wish never happened he once again Jake with a little help from some friends must take action to prevent it from repeating itself all over again. Also on that bus was the very person he thought that couldn't ever exist, well she may have never existed if it wasn't for him. But the fates had other plans for Jake and Kelsey they just don't know it yet. And with the help of Everlasting and it's people they just might find out what.
The unusual, quaint town of Everlasting is back with all our favorites townies! In the newest installment Jake Majoy, aka Deputy March, is the latest to find his HE!
When a beautiful stranger shows up in town Jake is instantly drawn to her. A man who has been around for a long time, this all alpha male finds his finesse has deserted him around Kelsey. He is experiencing some serious open mouth insert hoof syndrome whenever Kelsey is near. When mysterious thefts occur around the same time as Kelsey’s arrival, making her a suspect, Jake must solve these cases quickly to clear his lady’s name. Once he clears Kelsey’s name, he can move on to more important things, like why he’s gone all awkward around her.
Kelsey Gibbons has had a recent stint with bad luck, when a mysterious necklace and ticket to a fresh start shows up she takes the opportunity. Kelsey is instantly falls for the charm and interesting locals in Everlasting. She especially has her eyes on the hunky Deputy March, now if only the man would stop looking at her like a suspect for the newest crimewave. As more mysterious occurrences happen and dangers arise, Kelsey discovers the keys to unlock her past and finds out she has a colorful family history. Can Jake help protect her from the fate that awaits her?
This book was fun read, full of Mandy’s signature humor. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review and I couldn't put it down!
This book was a complete surprise as it was not really announced in advance, so I considered it a special gift. Additionally, this was probably my favourite book so far. It was sweet, with a lot of suspense and it made me laugh. Jake aka Deputy March is the main male protagonist and familiar from previous books. Kelsey, the main female character, is new to Everlasting and her reactions are hilarious at times. I am not a huge fan of love at first sight but this one was done masterfully and the story is delightful. Some of the familiar side characters are prominently featured, Hugh, Curt, Penelope, Wilber, Petey and Jolene. We also meet a new interesting character, which I hope will be featured in future books. The story is interesting and I couldn't put it down. The villains were oh so evil! and so sneaky, they made the story even better. I absolutely adore this series. The book can be read as standalone but the suggested reading order is: Dead Man Talking (The Happily Everlasting Series, #1), Once Hunted, Twice Shy (The Happily Everlasting Series, #2), Fooled Around and Spelled In Love (The Happily Everlasting Series, #3), Witchful Thinking (The Happily Everlasting Series, #4), Total Eclipse of The Hunt (The Happily Everlasting Series, #5) and Curses and Cupcakes (The Happily Everlasting Series #6).
Welcome back once again to Everlasting, Maine. The quirky little town where strange is normal. Deputy Jake Majoy, (Deputy March) is the next victim of a bit of match making. Kelsey Gibbons is new to Everlasting. On her 25th Birthday she recieves a gift from an unknown person along with a bus ticket to Everlasting. Her arrival drops her in town just as some mysterious thefts start taking place, magical items are missing. We are reunited with all the loveable charactors we met in the previous books and get to know more about a couple of them. What happens when Deputy hottie/ Centaur finds himself interested in the newbie, but she is also the first suspect in the thefts. He has to do all he can to not only solve the thefts but protect the woman he has fallen head over hooves for. This series has become one of my absolute favorite. The town of loveable although some are a bit different people are simply adorable. Everyone who ends up living there actually belong somehow. They are all there for a reason and they all just fit like a silly, loveable puzzle. *I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*
Deputy March (okay, okay, I know that's not his name, but the beefcake calendar thing is kinda funny and I just can't resist) gets his turn to find his lady love when Kelsey ends up in Everlasting. Seeing how it's Everlasting they're in, things go a little sideways for a while, but that doesn't stop these two from finding their HEA.
So. Our centaur deputy is...well, is just sort of is. He's not unhappy at his job (even though some of his fellow deputies aren't all that competent) and he's pleased to have found a place in quirky Everlasting. Seeing Kelsey for the first time turns him into an accident-prone, tongue-tied goof, but Kelsey digs him anyway.
The bad news? There are people in Everlasting with a not-so-friendly agenda when it comes to Kelsey and she's doesn't realize it. That said, Jake and the other residents (Wil, Jolene, Petey, and such) rally around her to keep her safe. Which is good since, you know, she's Jake's special someone and good guys should always end up with their special someone.
A little magical danger, some unexpected family, a few familiar faces, and one horrible, HORRIBLE cabin that Kelsey somehow manages to make work. Everlasting is fun and dangerous and I like it.
I love this town and Captain Petey is a card, I never know what to expect from him. Kelsey is a young woman who received a mysterious gift of a pendant and a bus ticket to Everlasting. She fights the draw of the pendant but keeps it with her she had no intention of traveling to Everlasting but her life takes a bad turn of luck and she has no where else to go. Deputy Jake Majoy otherwise known as Deputy March for her picture in the calendar for charity. He is a centaur who came to Everlasting after being driven from his herd for not completing a mission. He just saw no reason to kill a young witch just because she could turn evil. Captain Petey rents Kelsey Wilber's ol hunting cabin where he held Deputy March prisoner to keep his young granddaughter from being arrested for murder.
I love the twists and turns that Ms. Roth uses in this story bringing together the innocent Kelsey who has no clue she is a witch and the centaur who saved her mother those many years ago. I cannot wait to see who gets matched next. I voluntarily read an advance copy and was not compensated in any way for this opinion. Judge it for yourself if you enjoy a variety of supernatural characters who find their forever mates.
This is book #5 in the Everlasting series. I loved it so much I hated to put it down, even though I needed to sleep-LOL. Picked it right back up and finished it this AM and LOVED IT!! It starts off with the heroine, Kelsey, getting a mysterious package at home that included a bus ticket to Everlasting. All of a sudden her life, what there was of it, was pulled out from under her and there was no reason not to go and see what this turn in her life was all about. Back in Everlasting, Deputy Jake Majoy (or Deputy March as he is known around town) is getting grilled left and right by the well-meaning women in town trying to find him a match. All it took was a trip to Wil's antique shop and seeing his newest employee through the window and he was stumbling around like a teenager again, not like a 500 year old centaur. But, all is not well in Everlasting nor with the true reason that Kelsey was sent to town. What does she find out about her heritage that has her wanting to run? Or stay, as she feels an undeniable connection to Jake. Will Jake be able to get to her in time when trouble does come calling? They get some help from an unusual source as well. Take a trip to Everlasting. I promise you will not be disappointed!! Can't wait for the future stories to be told!
Kelsie didn't have family, no real friends, just a job and her little-rented home. When she lost her job, got evicted and received a necklace and a bus ticket, she figured why not. It was different from the big city but she came to like it and people there. Especially one certain deputy. She really liked Will, an older man who brought her to her new place—although new was far from reality. The stories he told her were fantastic. People who were really more, like vampires, werewolves and so much more. She's in for quite a surprise to find out about the real Everlasting and the people in it. Jake has finally realized who Kelsie is to him when they realize she is in danger. Is she going to accept the truth about them all so they can help protect her? And what about Jake's feelings for her? How can she accept what he is? Another fun ride in Everlasting with all the characters we've grown to know and love and some bad guys who needed to be taken care of. Just hope the good guys win out. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
Love the town of Everlasting This is another self-contained story placed in the town of Everlasting. The series has been created by four very talented authors. In this story by Mandy M. Roth, you have the story of Kelsey Gibbons. Kelsey was giving a present on her twenty-fifth birthday by an anonymous person containing a pendant and a bus ticket to Everlasting. She hadn’t planned on going but stuff in life happened and, so she picked up her life and headed out to Everlasting. Now Everlasting is a place full of magic and all sorts of strange things. Kelsey believing herself human, not knowing about or believing any of said strange things were real. Then there is the hunky Deputy Jake Majoy (March) who is an immortal centaur. At five hundred years old, Jake has long since stop believing he would ever find his mate. The one person made just for him, to love for eternity. That is until he meets Kelsey and becomes a bumbling, tongue tied person. This is such a great story to read. Full of action and adventure that’s very entertaining to read. I highly recommend this book to read.
Another fun magical story in this Enchanting Series. This story written by Mandy Roth, involves a very hunky policeman, (Deputy March) centaur Shifter, and a shy lost soul (Kelsey Gibbons). Kelsey has been a shy wallflower all her life when at 25 she gets a mysterious package with a pendant and bus ticket to Everlasting, Maine. Deciding it’s time to become a part of the world she accepts the adventure and heads to the strange town. It is said Everlasting calls to those who need to be there, and somehow Kelsey knows this is where her future lies. Deputy Jake Majory (Deputy March) is a rare centaur Shifter who has come to Evelasting where his shifting abilities are not unique and he can contribute as a detective/cop for the police department. Another enjoyable exciting endearing story in a magical town that includes many of the places and characters we’ve come to know and love from the other stories. A sweet heartwarming story about self-discovery, bravery, acceptance mixed with mystery, danger, lots of humor and of course romance, These stories are amazing entertaining fun reads, I hope there will be many more Evelasting Romance/Mysteries to come.
What can i say??? Wow just Wow!!! I absolutely loved this book and i have to say this series just gets better and better. I laughed and i cried and i wanted this book to never end! Mandy M roth Never disappoints and it seems that these cozy paranormal mysteries suit her perfectly!
I was really looking forward to another trip to Everlasting, Maine, so I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the next installment came out. In this story, Kelsey Gibbons is cleverly maneuvered into moving from Boston to the small town of Everlasting. A product of the foster care system, she has always wanted to belong somewhere. Jake Majoy, aka Deputy March, is a five hundred year old centaur, one of the last of his kind. He too has found a home in Everlasting, but is flabbergasted to find his mate working in Wilbur Messing's antique store. Something evil has followed Kelsey here though, and once again the residents of this unique town will have to band together to save the town.
If anything, this story is even better than Ms. Roth's first one. I am totally hooked on these stories and can't wait to see what the next author has to add. I love the town and it's inhabitants. Their stories are both action packed and full of humor and romance. Any town that has a witch who takes her pet lobster for walks around town will definitely have me coming back for more.
Title: Total Eclipse of The Hunt: A Cozy Paranormal Mystery Author: Mandy M Roth Characters: Deputy March (Jake) and Kelsey Review: Everlasting, Maine is one of the most dangerous places you’ve never heard of. The body count is huge for such a small town. Still, I would by a ticket to go there in a heartbeat. The people there are sweet, funny, and just a little strange. Kelsey arrives in Everlasting because someone secretly gave her a bus ticket and everything else in her life went bad, so uses the ticket. The minute Deputy March…um, Jake Majoy, sees her, he becomes a clumsy fool. Bubble gum machines are not safe around him. Captain Petey may have become my new favorite character. But, still have a soft spot for Polly. When they discover someone is out to kill Kelsey, he’ll stop at nothing to keep her safe. Really enjoyed this book. I love the series. Am actually re-reading it now. I can’t wait for next book. I received an ARC for an honest review.
It's always a treat to come back to Everlasting. I got reacquainted with such previous characters as Petey and Hugh and involved myself in the life of new ones. This time around we find Deputy Jake Majoy, the ostracized centaur, falling all over himself when he meets Kelsey. One will never look at gumball machines the same way again. Kelsey has been sent to Everlasting under mysterious circumstances. Within the span of a short time she had lost her job and her apartment. She had to find her courage and backbone when life threw her into a barrel of rotten apples. So when she got the mysterious gift of a free bus ticket and an intriguing necklace she figures "What the heck"? She has nothing to loose so off she goes. Little does Kelsey realize what lies ahead for her and the residents of Everlasting. Fate, life or whatever both Jake and Kelsey come to discover that their lives are entwined by deeds from the past. For my honest review I was given an ARC of this story.
Kelsey's life has been turned upside down. She turned 25 and within a week she is fired from her job, evicted from her apartment and her account is frozen at school. What else can she do but go to Everlasting, Maine a place she has never heard of before her birthday. Her life has kicked her down but she has pulled herself has determined to make the best of it.
Jake Majoy or as we better know him Deputy March is 500 years old and believes there is no one out there for him. Jolene knows better and says she will set him up with his future mate. Little does he know a theft will have him bump right in to her.
Mandy does an amazing job of making us fall more in love with this small town. Even though the death toll is high, I would still love to live there, there is never a dull moment. Just when you think you have everything figured out she adds a spin to it that you did not see coming. I cannot wait to see where she takes us next.
I have read and enjoyed all the books so far released in this series. I did receive this as an ARC and admit that I'm a huge fan of Mandy Roth's other works. All that to say, I love this book. This is actually now in my top 5 favorite books and will be re-read multiple times. I will try to review this without spoilers as you definately want to read this yourself.
I was so glad to see the characters created in Once Hunted, Twice Shy again. I found myself continuing to wish Wilbur were my grandfather. Jake was so adorable once he was smitten. I was enchanted with Kelsey from the beginning and found myself rooting for her at every swipe of the page. "Going to get her brave on" is now my favorite saying. Where the story takes the mystery man had me figuratively jumping up and down and cheering. And Petey; how could anyone not love him?
I cannot wait to see more books in this series by Mrs. Roth.
Kelsey Gibbon got a pendant on her 25th birthday and a ticket to everlasting Maine from a mystery person. Since she had no family, grow up in foster home, lost her apartment and couldn't go to school. She ended up arrivingoing at everlasting on a bus.
Deputy jake Mojoy aka deputy March is an immoral centaur working at everlasting's police department. When a rock (stone of truth) and a ring goes missing things start getting strange, well stranger then it's normally and now they have a huge problem but it's always crazy in Everlasting. OMG I loved this story. The characters are great and so well written. There is mystery, humor, and action. It keeps you guessing to the end and then you will not want it to end, don't miss it, in fact don't miss the whole series it's awesome. Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
Kelsey life conspired to send her to Everlasting, where she ended up meeting her true love.
What I enjoyed: * I really liked Kelsey. She's been on her own her whole life and when everything in her current life turns against her, she is brave enough to take a mysterious bus ticket to a new town. * Jake seems to be a good match for Kelsey, even if he is a 500 year old immortal centaur. * The crazy residents of Everlasting are great. I can't believe Petey rented out that horrible hunting cabin. *
What could have been better: * The whole evil plot was a bit strange
I really enjoyed this story by Ms. Roth. There is no steam so it is different than her other worlds but this is her second story in this series and I enjoyed this more than the first. I really liked Jake. He is practically the last of his kind and 5 centuries old but meeting Kelsey leaves him as tongue tied as a teenager and just as clumsy. But when it counted Jake was the man he needed to be. And Kelsey was having a string of bad luck. But the signs were clear. She needed to be in Everlasting. I love that Everlasting starting healing the hurts of her past. She would be noticed here and as she meets more of the townsfolk she learns more than she expected. This story is well written and enjoyable. I laughed several times out loud at the antics of the townsfolk and cannot wait to return to this town.
Love, love, love this book! Funny, quirky, and mysterious. What more could you want? I did not want to put this book down and was either on the edge of my seat or laughing the entire book. There was not a slow point in the book. All of our favorite characters are back and up to their predictable selves. Kelsey follows the "signs" to Everlasting and is drawn to Deputy March, oh I mean Jake. She makes friends and enemies she didn't know she has have found her. Throw in she doesn't know she is a witch but those around her knows oh and her mate is a very rare centaure. Mix all of that together and you get another kick tail book from Mandy Roth.
