PUSHING BRILLIANCE

He didn’t do it.
He really didn't.
But proving it,
will be a killer.

Imagine Harrison Ford's THE FUGITIVE meets Tom Clancy's HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER.

Framed for murder and on the run, former Olympic biathlete Kyle Achilles is also in the crosshairs of assassins' guns. Why? He has no idea. He's fighting blind against two master strategists and one extraordinary invention--known as Brillyanc.

Achilles' only ally is the other prime suspect, a beautiful Russian mathematician who is either the best or worst person to ever enter his life. Katya was engaged to Achilles' brother -- before he died.

Chasing clues while dodging bullets, Achilles and Katya race around the globe, uncovering a conspiracy conceived in Moscow, born in Silicon Valley, and destined to demolish both the White House and the Kremlin. Along the way a lost soul finds purpose, a broken heart confronts forbidden love, and America gains a new hero.

Packed with heart-stopping surprises, paced by razor-sharp plotting, and populated with richly rendered characters, Pushing Brilliance will leave you breathless and longing for more.

THE LIES OF SPIES

The American president sent him...
The Russian president caught him...
The free world is counting on him...
But he doesn't remember.

Imagine Robert Ludlum’s THE BOURNE IDENTITY meets Lee Child’s PERSONAL.

Journey beneath the diplomatic veneer of international politics and beyond the reach of conventional military operations into the epicenter of clandestine affairs — where diplomats dance and spies collide in wars that never make the news.

For the next step in its expansionist agenda, the Kremlin devises a covert coup far more devastating than Bin Laden’s most dangerous dream. With the American economy in his crosshairs, Russian President Vladimir Korovin picks suitable pawns and pulls sizable levers, initiating the boldest gambit the world has ever seen.
Halfway around the world, the White House develops a plan for derailing Russian aggression. A way-off-the-books, high-risk, high-reward plan. American President William Silver identifies the perfect person for his impossible former CIA operative Kyle Achilles.
With their plans in place and their spies undercover, each president is confident that he has outplayed the other — until everything goes wrong.

The Lies of Spies will keep you guessing from first page to last with the suspenseful twists and unpredictable turns readers expect from Tim Tigner. Don’t pick it up at night if you plan to work in the morning.

Tim Tigner

Tim began his career in Soviet Counterintelligence with the US Army Special Forces, the Green Berets. That was back in the Cold War days when, “We learned Russian so you didn't have to,” something he did at the Presidio of Monterey alongside Recon Marines and Navy SEALs.

With the fall of the Berlin Wall, Tim switched from espionage to arbitrage. Armed with a Wharton MBA rather than a Colt M16, he moved to Moscow in the midst of Perestroika. There, he led prominent multinational medical companies, worked with cosmonauts on the MIR Space Station (from Earth, alas), chaired the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, and helped write Russia’s first law on healthcare.

Moving to Brussels during the formation of the EU, Tim ran Europe, Middle East, and Africa for a Johnson & Johnson company and traveled like a character in a Robert Ludlum novel. He eventually landed in Silicon Valley, where he launched new medical technologies as a startup CEO.

In his free time, Tim has climbed the peaks of Mount Olympus, went hang gliding from the cliffs of Rio de Janeiro, and ballooned over Belgium. He earned scuba certification in Turkey, learned to ski in Slovenia, and ran the Serengeti with a Maasai warrior. He acted on stage in Portugal, taught negotiations in Germany, and chaired a healthcare conference in Holland. Tim studied psychology in France, radiology in England, and philosophy in Greece. He has enjoyed ballet at the Bolshoi, the opera on Lake Como, and the symphony in Vienna. He’s been a marathoner, paratrooper, triathlete, and yogi.

Intent on combining his creativity with his experience, Tim began writing thrillers in 1996 from an apartment overlooking Moscow’s Gorky Park. Twenty years later, his passion for creative writing continues to grow every day. His home office now overlooks a vineyard in Northern California.

Tim grew up in the Midwest, and graduated from Hanover College with a BA in Philosophy and Mathematics. After military service and work as a financial analyst and foreign-exchange trader, he earned an MBA in Finance and an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.

PUSHING BRILLIANCE
WOW! This was the last Tigner novel for me left unread. So I REALLY tried to drag it out for as long as possible. But if you really like a fast-paced plot, interesting techno thrillers, with a kick-ass protagonist, it is VERY HARD to not just sit down and read it in 1-2 days. Tigner's military background as a Special Forces -trained specialist well versed in Russian and Soviet counter-intelligence, and his civilian experience working in the post-Soviet Moscow with prominent multinational medical companies, and finally extensive experience working in silicon-valley as a CEO of a start-up launching new medical technologies is ALL evident in a most skilled plot with fascinatingly possible medical technologies and targeted bio-weapons. Like any good movie hero, the protagonist is bigger than life, and the "bad guys" are very evil. The personal combat series are very believable for a "not-too-old" CIA-trained biathlete. As someone who has written non-fiction medical books, I am frustrated by reviews who complain about "small print." Tigner I am confident has NOTHING to do with the selection of the cover-art nor the size of the text. I agree with thoughtful comparisons of Kyle Achilles with Brad Thor's Scot Harvath, and Steve Berry's Cotton Malone, Nelson DeMille's John Corey, and Brian Haig's Sean Drummond. Tim Tigner is "Brillyan(t)". Can't wait to see the movie. Also would really like to hear this as an AudioBook with either Dick Hill or Scott Brick. (less)

LIES OF SPIES
WOW! Tim Tigner just keeps getting better and better. And the fact that the author is a Special Forcesw trained Soviet Counterintellengence "expert" make the current geopolitical situation appropriate foundation for an white-knuckle military techno-thriller whose plot COULD be taken from current headlines. Tigner certainly does know how to pace his plot and develop his characters. This book is very hard to put down. Indeed I was fortunate to be "on vacation" in the Rocky Mountains and had the luxury of finishing this book in just two days. This book has it ALL! Spies, counter-spies, espionage, moles, non-stop action, etc etc etc. The protagonist is appropriate named Kyle ACHILLES, a mildly flawed great hero with military training and experience as a biathlete, all BEFORE he became a free climber. I agree with other readers who feel that KYLE ACHILLES needs to be a movie star. The opnly question is who to play Kyle Achilles. This book and this auithor is recommended HIGHLY to all those readers who devour Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, and Brian Haig.

Tim Tigner and his hero, Kyle Achilles - together the two are unstoppable

Tim Tigner writes the most thrilling books. He doesn't have a bad writing bone in his body. His hero, Kyle Achilles, is a true action hero; a modern man, tough as nails but with a good heart. I love reading about him and turn over the pages as if my life depended on it, instead of it being Kyle's life on the line.
I could wax lyrical for hours but why don't you just go and read Tim's books for yourself? Thrills, chills and spills guaranteed!

Excellent, un-put-down-able!

I read both books in a matter of three days, that's how excellent they were. There's everything you could wish for in a thriller, action, international intrigue, romance and even a little humor, plus very likeable protagonists. I am very picky about protagonists, I have to really like them in order to empathize with them and enjoy the story, so I was quite pleased with Kyle, Katya, Zoya and Max in The Lies of Spies. I am looking forward to my next Tim Tigner read.

Eat your heart out, Mr. Bond

I hope there is a real life Achilles out there, protecting us. In the meantime, I have been hooked on Mr. Tigner's writing starting with Time. I am anticipating an exciting Fall as I follow more of Achille's adventures.

Good spy novels

Tigner is great at letting the reader inside the reasoning and responses of his characters rather than just describing the action. The story moves and there is plenty of action and plot twists.

Well written with more than a few interesting turns. This was my 3rd read in the series. Thank the author for limiting the number of difficult to remember difficult Russian names.
