Rate this book
This book is a gentle introduction to Python for students and research scholars in science and engineering and also for anyone who finds it fascinating to do computation. Concepts are explained in lucid language with necessary details, Python scripts and graphical demonstrations. The reader requires no prior knowledge of programming. The chapters are classified under Core Python, Computation with external packages (NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, SymPy, Pandas), Applications in Science (Numerical Methods), and Special Applications (Quantum and Statistical Mechanics) followed by some additional topics. The material in this book took shape from the regular courses taught for UG and PG students at the department and a course on Computational Physics in Python delivered at Ashoka University, New Delhi. Various suggestions and ideas are incorporated that emerged from numerous workshops and seminars on Python Computing in last few years in and around Kolkata.
