Description:- The Obstacle is the Way: The Ancient Art of Turning Adversity to Advantage We give up too easily. With a simple change of attitude, what seem like insurmountable obstacles become once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. Ryan Holiday, who dropped out of college at nineteen to serve as an apprentice to bestselling 'modern Machiavelli' Robert Greene and is now a media consultant for billion-dollar brands, draws on the philosophy of the Stoics to guide you in every situation, showing that what blocks our path actually opens one that is new and better. If the competition threatens you, it's time to be fearless, to display your courage. An impossible deadline becomes a chance to show how dedicated you are. Ego is the Enemy: The Fight to Master Our Greatest Opponent As in The Obstacle is the Way, Ryan Holiday delivers practical and inspiring philosophy, this time exploring a powerful concept that runs back centuries, across borders and schools of thought: ego. Ego is our biggest enemy. Early in our careers, it can prevent us from learning and developing our talents. When we taste success, ego can blind us to our own faults, alienate us from others and lead to our downfall. In failure, ego is devastating and makes recovery all the more difficult. It is only by identifying our ego, speaking to its desires, and systematically disarming it that we can create our best work.Organised into bite-sized observations featuring characters and narratives that illustrate themes and life lessons designed to resonate, uplift and inspire, Ego is the Enemy shows how you can be humble in your aspirations, gracious in your success and resilient in your failures.

Book: ego is the enemy
Author: Ryan holiday
Introduction:
Today I'd like to share my notes of Ego is the Enemy. It's a brilliant book written by Ryan Holiday. No matter where you are in life, you'll have to fight your ego in order to succeed.
Ego is the enemy, without a doubt. Reading this book will make you feel uncomfortable, and even angry sometimes. Ryan Holiday shares powerful stories of how ego ruins individuals, lives, organizations, and civilizations.
Ego is your biggest enemy in work, relationships, and life. Fight it or you'll fail
Summary:
In this provocative book, Ryan Holiday shows us how the ego can get in the way of success, satisfaction, and true happiness. When we let our ego get the best of us, it can lead to self-sabotage, and it often makes it harder for us to listen, learn, and grow.
Ego is the Enemy offers a powerful antidote to the ego trap by demonstrating how great historical figures—from Napoleon to John D. Rockefeller to Serena Williams—have let their egos get the best of them and how, in contrast, history’s greatest achievers were able to use ego to their advantage

Conclusion:
The first conclusion is that you must not fool yourself—and you are the easiest person to fool.— RICHARD FEYNMAN
The ego we see most commonly goes by a more casual definition: an unhealthy belief in our own importance. Arrogance. Self-centered ambition.
We think something else is to blame for our problems (most often, other people).
We can’t improve the world if we don’t understand it or ourselves. We can’t take or receive feedback if we are incapable of or uninterested in hearing from outside sources
Ego is its own worst enemy. It hurts the ones we love too. Our families and friends suffer for it.
As you become successful in your own field, your responsibilities may begin to change. Days become less and less about doing and more and more about making decisions. Such is the nature of leadership
