Empyrea, an island in the Andromeda galaxy belonging to planet Vathura is serene. Everywhere your eyes turn, you will feast on the lovely birds singing their heart out in the lush green vegetation. Osiris Mysterio ruled the regions of Empyrea with his brother Tyrant Seth and their children Pitheceus Babi, Kraity Wadjet, and Horus Mysterio.
5000 years ago, the ancient Egyptians were the only humans to receive the invitation to enter Empyrea. They gladly on-boarded into a Pegasus chariot and took their journey to Empyrea. Their journey is indescribable. Empyrea by itself was like a fairy-tale garden, an ocean of flowers and exotic trees.
As the Egyptians went further inside Empyrea, they saw its netherworld. They had mixed feelings when they saw the triangle-shaped tombs and the bizarre headhunting people. Empyrea also had blood-curdling creatures like the deadly dinosaurs, gigantic snakes, furious apes, ruthless rhino's, massive mastodons, and many other creepy creatures. This showed the power of the Empyrean Army and that no other army could survive their wrath.
Emperor Osiris and the kings ruled Empyrea with powerful Scepters. With those powers, they were not only considered as kings but also worshipped as Lords. With the help of their scepter, the Lords had the crucial power to transform themselves into giant creatures.
While departing from Empyrea, Egyptians were gifted with a shortcut portal to earth and some people and creatures of Empyrea to build the Empramids in Egypt. Overwhelmed with happiness, they took the shortcut door and returned to Egypt.
However, the happiness was short-lived in Empyrea. The Empire of Empyrea was betrayed for ruling earth avariciously. Somehow the Emperor of Empyrea locked the shortcut portal and asked the Egyptians to safeguard it. The Egyptians, on the other hand, failed to safeguard the portal. And some gangsters accidentally opened the shortcut door in 2017 A.D, entered Empyrea, and inadvertently got access to the Lord scepters.
So, now the Earthians were left with no choice but to battle against the merciless predators and headhunting people in their heroic journey. Their ultimate fate lay in an empire beyond imagination. They would take their stand against the powerful lords, who brutally led their people to war against planet Earth.
Did the gangsters protect the earth from danger or left the other world to accomplish their tyrant rule on Earth? Explore the world of Empyrea to unravel the truth behind this mystery.
I have seen this book first time on Amazon in their suggestions. Later on, I saw this book's review by DDS on her blog and that made me more curious. So the book reached to our wishlist I would like to thank DDS for coordination and arranging the review copy in exchange for an honest review. I have received this book in the first week of April. And I have done reading the book by end of the April, but unfortunately during May vacations (yes we get 21 days of paid vacation in May). I forgot to update the review of the book. So I would like to apologize to the author and DDS for delaying the review.
Talking about the review, let's take storyline first. The story started with excavator restoring and clearing Pyramids and items within. During which she came upon interesting sets of scrolls. These scrolls talked about the link between ancient Egypt and Planet Vathura (and its island Empyrea). Then the story goes back and past & present. The things excavated from Pyramid were stolen by a thief. This is where action and thriller enter the story when thief solved the puzzle found in stolen materials which open portal to planet Vathura. Things became interesting when this guy found Scepter which can grant unparalleled powers to its wielders. Check out the book to know more.
There are some points of improvements that I would like to discuss first 1) Font size - I think if you have written a lengthy book then split it into volumes or publish it as one, but don't decrease font size to this level. I had to literally train my mind to read such small text with little line spacing. 2) As long as the story continues with the environment or setting it is okay. But don't overdo it. At some places, I found surrounding information in excess.
Coming to positive points 1) You might have seen Ravana movie (Abhishek & Aishwarya starring) which is remembered for its awesome cinematography. The same way you will remember this book for its illustrious surrounding descriptions. 2) A true fantasy genre book. It contains aliens, past, future, space travel, black and white magic, animals, dinosaurs, etc. 3) Light read and fast-paced story. You will keep turning pages once tempo sets (which is true for 70% of the book) 4) Nice colorful cover design.
The book starts with an Offbeat with the central protagonist named Hannah, who's on an exciting journey of unlocking wonders of nature such a pyramids. The fun part being - apparently she's an archaeologist. Plot is quite good. Things go well. However, everything starts crumbling down when she founds out that she has to save the pyramid. Only to be revealed later, she finds out that its the other way around. The planet Earth needs to saved from the pyramid instead. So what happens now? Will she accomplish in her journey? Will she saved the earth & the pyramid? What does fate have in store for her?
Characterisation is good. The book is way too long. Often it becomes monotonous at loose ends. One needs to be patient enough to finish it. Its a blend with science, history, archaeology & fantasy. So the readers will enjoy it as the story proceeds. Cover is beautiful, it has been designed really well. Title is apt & goes with the plot in hand. Language is simple, good & easy to understand! Narration is okay. A good onetime read.

I read this novel in the Kindle version. This is a debut fantasy novel written by the author Vignesh Ravichandran, this wonderful journey happens in the Andromeda Galaxy with lovely fantasy creatures. And, to my surprise, I found many of my childhood favorite characters like Dinosaurs, Anaconda, and mighty Kong. Its a complete set of happiness if you want to move out from your daily stress and live in the other world. Overall a very good fantasy story.

Book Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRTwl... My Take I received the international copy of " Scepters of Empyrea " Vignesh Ravichandran as a friendly gesture. I am not much into fantasy fiction but the cover and blurb attracted me to it and I started reading it. Soon ,I became so engrossed in it that I read it in every free minute i could spare and once i finished it I exhaled the breath I didn't realised I was holding. The story is of Empyrea, an island in the Andromeda galaxy belonging to planet Vathura. The story starts where we found an archeologist Hannah , accidentally found the pyramid which contains the mortal remains and possessions of king Djoser. Among them she found the key of Andromeda galaxy too which she ignored unintentionally. In process of collecting and preserving and transporting the antiques and valuables she came across one papyrus letter, stating " We are more thankful to your father for saving out Kemet, for sure we will keep the key of Empyrea safe and help you in finding the "... rest of the part missing. She rummaged scroll after scroll and finally found the one with details of Empyrea. The description of Empyrea was so beautifully described in detail that it made her and me both fall in love with Empyrea. She was more then intrigued to find more but soon all the possessions was transported to Miami for an exhibition cum fundraiser for autistic children. Here the gangster looted all the treasure and not only found the key of Empyrea, but also solve the puzzle which was necessary for entering Empyrea. while trying to escape from interpol and swat team accidentally they fall in the trap of destiny and entered Empyrea unaware that they are no more on Earth but on another planet. The villain fought with creatures of Empyrea , struggled for survival and accidentally get the Scepters which hold the power and turned them I to lords of Empyrea . The evil older lords also came in scene and rest was history . The fight between evil and good took place in which the good emerged as winner. The Empyrea after 5000 years get back his lords and Scepters finally get their rightful and brave owners. All through the story the different incidents keep us hooked . What's going to happen next kept me glued. The fight scenes ,the descriptions and the different species are portrayed beautifully. The thing I loved most is the beautiful illustration all through the book. The different sketches of species an mostly the beautiful sketches of nature makes the book all the more interesting. This book is a must read for all the fantasy lover and non fantasy lover too because if you want to experience your first ride in a fantasy world, this is just the ride for you guys.
Fantasy, Fantasy and Fantasy is what you will see in this novel. As the title suggest it is indeed a journey to a different world. A memory you gonna have when you finish the book will be beyond your imagination. It’s really a big book. Quiet easily will get you into the book as it ticks most possible pointers for a good fantasy book.

I came across the fact that this book took 7 long years for the author to finish. That effort was very much seen inside the book. This book has a plot, has a story , has thriller, has nail biting events and even N number of illustrations.
I had always thought the scene illustrations in a book would be a threat to readers imagination and creativeness. But this book had other plans. The illustrations were pretty much enormous and it was hard to believe that would it be possible like that? . It was cinematic through out the book. While reading this you will definitely feel the traces of few movies you had admired and loved.
The book can be splitted into three part of Empyrea as like Past, present and future.
The past part was almost the description of Empyrea which was quiet astonishing with the nature and beings. you will almost feel like travelling to Empyrea. The future is full of action and revenge and this is the part which takes the whole limelight from all. The stage is set for you to enjoy the full action thriller war sequence.
Coming to the present part is where I felt bored or the story became too lean with similar kind of descriptive as past Empyrea. The Empyrea description through the eyes of four human lords. Although it had many important facts for the story line, the similar and repeated description part could have been avoided.
The other fact which is little disappointing is the human characters( this is purely from social point of view, my view) who were criminals and assassins in earth becomes so good in Empyrea just like that and become great lords. May be the human characters could have been little inspiring as in Earth too.
The Illustrations and description are the ultimate plus for this book. If you are fantasy lover and you wish to experience a cinema experience while reading a book then this book will not disappoint you.
Glad to see many Indian fantasy authors. Let’s bring it on more and more .
The Cover: A white ape humongous in size and a small but equally confident looking green man facing it with calm... To be honest, I did not pay attention to the cover until I entered the fantasy world and then obviously went back to it to refer and verify what I read and imagined. So yes, I do like the cover page. It does not spill any beans and is relevant with the theme.
How did I like the book:
In the minimum words possible, I would call this book as an absolute page turner. Treasure hunt, pyramids, life beyond pyramids, puzzles, Serpents, Dinosaurs, Gorillas, Mammoths, White magic, Dark Magic, modern day action, laughter, tears... Name an element of Hollywood movie and it's there.
I would not say that it was a perfect read - I noticed some typo's here and there mostly related to tenses (The author moved to and fro in present and past tenses a lot) which did break down the enthusiasm. Although a parts were a little predictable, but yet, there was a smooth blend of two worlds!!!
I could not stop laughing at the mention of Thunder god - Thor!!! Seriously, there was no need of taking a cue from Avengers! Then, who would ever imagine a call from bank for a credit card when you are fighting for your life!!!
The language of the book felt simple and easy to go along. I also liked the narration style - the fantasy world was all alive right in front of my eyes while reading it. Yes, It's a thick book and I did skimmed through a few pages - specially the war part, But I am still impressed and really liked it. The little illustrations also helped me relate to the imagination as a reader. Only if they were as in number as portrayed in the trailer! But then, I did admire the ones which were there.
Truly I am pleasantly surprised at the fact that it's Mr. Vignesh Ravichandran's debut novel. Would I recommend it to anyone? Definite yes to any fantasy lover.
PS: I wanted to give 3.5 stars (0.5 stars minus for the typos, grammatical errors), but then since I did enjoy it, I preferred to get the author an upper hand... :)
The book ‘Scepters of Empyrea ‘ by Vignesh Ravichandran . This his debut novel which is a fantasy fiction take you through some unbelievable and nerve wracking illustrations .
The cover of the book gives you a glimpse of war between human and inhuman creatures which is admired by many people in the form of some great movies . According to me it could be more better .
The concept and the story line was very wonderful and captivating as it tells you a story of around 5000 years ago when Egyptian was the only human to receive invitation to enter Empyrea an island in the Neverland . There is a beautiful description about the island Empyrea which virtually takes you on a journey to Empyrea’s happy and blessed environment . The story moves around Hannah a 32 year archeologist wants to save the pyramid from Earth’s disaster but later what she find was something unexpected .
The first part of the story gives you eye soothing and calming visuals . But eventually the story gets slow paced and honestly I got bored but the plot and concept of the story hooked me to read it till end . Surely the final part of the story is like the climax of any movie which takes you on adventurous journey .
The narration was eminent and language was understandable . Development of characters throughout the story was noteworthy. The hard work and efforts of 7 long years by the author is clearly presented in the story which was inspired by his dreams .
Definitely the book was quite long and it will take a hell out of patience to read it till end and I feel some part in the story should be removed so that it does not become long and boring .
People who love fantasy fiction will definitely love and admire the work of author and I will surely wait for the author next work .
The book starts with a beautiful description of a far off land in the Andromeda Galaxy known as EMPYREA. The author has so beautifully described the land of Empyrea with pretty flowers, exotic trees and the weird, creepy wildlife that it makes the reader feel to be a part of the story itself.
As the story unfolds, it is depicted that only Egyptians of all the people on Earth are allowed to enter the bizarre world of Empyrea. When they do visit, their experience is indescribable! The Egyptians are fascinated by the weird and creepy Flora and Fauna of Empyrea, However they're unaware of what awaits them further.
The Emperor of Empyrea offers the Egyptians a secret way to return to their land but also sends some of his own scepters along.
Now, the question arises if the Empyreal scepters will be able to conquer the Earth or if the Egyptians will be able to save their land from these Invaders from another galaxy!
Despite being a long read, the story narration and language keeps the reader's attention intact till the very end. The suspense of what will happen next, keeps the reader going. Loved the concept of this story, provided a nice break from the romance and sitcom stories. Kudos to the author!
I am surprised by the concept woven to build this story. Very different. We don't come across any such books all the time when history fiction is amalgamated with such a intriguing story. Tge story telling is good and narration is nice. Simple language is used making it a familiar read. It is little long but gripping. Sometimes I felt bored but tolerated that because of tye gripping concept. Something about story 5000 years ago, Ancient Egyptians were the only humans to receive the invitation to enter Empyrea. They gladly on-boarded into a Pegasus chariot and took their journey to Empyrea. Their journey is indescribable. Empyrea by itself was like a fairy-tale garden, an ocean of flowers and exotic trees. . How the story builds and develops page to page is nice to make yourself read it and again puck it up if you're not reading it in one go
The story starts with Hannah who was exploring the step pyramid in Egypt, she discovers more secrets about the pharaohs and about the other world who helped the egyptians to build the pyramids. This book mainly features the other world named Empyrea situated in the Andromeda Galaxy.
Author has taken us totally into a fantasy world, the creativity of the author has to be appreciated and i read at the book back cover that the author took 7years to complete this novel, the dedication level has given a wonderful book. Some of the novel highlights were the prehistoric creatures and the secret powers of the rulers of Empyrea. I loved the final chapters as it takes us to the battlefield to live with it.
I would say this is one of the most unknown book due to lack in advertisement or popularity.
The best place for fantasy and adventure lovers. A wonderful, mesmerizing page turner. It felt more like I was living through the phenominal characters and the era. Such great plot and such great narration. The Picturisation of the plot is something wonderful and it has been depicted wonderfully. A dream of a reader is a book that dwells in the imagination and this is one such book. The characters are wonderful and outstanding. Wonderful and appreciable work by the author. It was a really good fantasy book. The cover is beautiful and the title is apt. The simpleness of language and how easy it is understand is one point that makes the book more outstanding. An outstanding page Turner by the author.
The book "Scepters of Empyrea" is a best story around fantasy and adventure lovers. The story starts with Hannah, who is an 32 year old American archeologist. She is obsessed with saving a Step Pyramids and story involves as they put togather a group of archaeologists and start to save the step pyramid. They need to save them from getting destroyed due to earthly causes, like earthquakes. But they find out the something unexpected. Now, they are to save earth from the danger through the pyramid. You have to read the book to find out the danger and what happens next. The book is a stunning and mesmerizing page turner. It felt more like I was witnessing the whole story in a form of movie, playing right in front of my eyes, very alive. The plot and narration was amazing. A dream of a reader is a book that dwells in the imagination and this is one such book. The characters are wonderfully developed with precision. I applaud Author for a stunning and appreciable work. It was a really good fantasy read. The cover and title are beautifuland apt for the story. The language is simple and easy to understand.
The story revolves around Hannah, an archaeologist. It has an interesting plot where she aims to save the pyramid but later finds out that the Earth needs to saved from the pyramid instead. Now what are her findings and whether she succeeds to save the earth or not is something you'll find only after reading the book.
The plot is interesting but I seriously would have happier had it been a bit shorter. The story is too long as per my patience. The characters are well developed and the language is quite clear.
The cover gives you the feeling of fantasy so I must say it has been well designed. The title too is very unique. If you love fantasy and are also okay with long reads, I think you can go for it.
Name of the book - Sceptres of Empyrea: A Journey to the Andromeda Galaxy
Name of the author - Vignesh Ravichandran
Sceptres of Empyrea : A Journey to the Andromeda Galaxy is a story of 5000 years ago by Vignesh Ravichandrani. This book is a historical fiction with an alluring cover and great storyline. The style of the narration in the fiction is simple. 5000 years ago Egyptians were the only humans to receive invitation to the Empyrea. The Empyrea itself is a magical garden and oceans of flowers with unnaturalized trees. The fiction is about the protagonist, Hannah who is an archaeologist, and later she founds out that the Earth needs to be saved. The language is lucid and easy to understand. To find out how Hannah save the Earth one should read this book.
One of my friends gifted this paperback edition of this to me on my birthday. It made me sink into the world of happiness from that moment. It was also adventures to fight against the Dinosaurs and Snakes. I also loved the character Kraity, it was wonderfully written by the author. I like to be a queen like her with the shape-shifting transformation power like her.
The book is beautiful fantasy fiction. The plot is unique and narration is well penned. Cover is breathtaking. Characters are well developed and language is fluid. The story is about Hannah the archeologist whose main objective is to save the pyramid. But later she founds that it is the Earth tht needs to be saved. Does she succeed in her mission? Read to find out. The book has a deeper philosophical meaning. A must go fantasy read
This book is awesome for all the people who love fantasy . I just started to read this and I can't stop myself from flipping pages, from the start only you could imagine yourself in this kind of world and as the journey goes by you get too immersed in the book . Read it and pack yourself cause the journey is long. Well done.
Scepters of Empyrea reveals a mesmerizing story about the exotic and beautiful Empyrea located in the Andromeda galaxy. Reading this book is like going through an adventure of space travel, Egyptian mysterious history, gangster robbery, and power struggles. It is a great book to read!
Author has a very nice imaginative storyline and the plot is also very interesting, however the writing style of the author can be more engaging. Overall a decent read, little slow but ok read.
I was surprised when I realized that this is a debut novel. The writing and plot development does the justice to the interesting blurb.
An archaeologist comes across/discovers something which will destroy us, the entire plot is us following her from this point. What happens next? Well you have to read to find out.
The world building is done beautifully. Nice mix of adventure and a vibe of enchantment. One pitfall for me as a reader was that the pace got a little dry at some places, which is something that turns me off especially in an ebook.
Book cover & Title is beautiful. It gives the idea of the story. It is a fantasy novel. The story revolves around 5000 year ago. It does everything a fantasy novel should do.The first thing that strikes you about this book is the superb narrative, with a bold and moving story that evolves as more details of events become clear. Author described everything amazingly with details. Moving the story with such description results in almost 600 pages, from almost the start there is hardly any let-up. But still I think It could have been little bit shorter. That much long book could quite easily become tiresome, but it doesn't. This is partly a result of the quality of the writing, but it's also how the author posits the events. I struggled to bond with any of the characters in the book, and while I'm sure it would have helped me enjoy the book more if I had, it didn't stop me from liking it. I can see the thought put into each of them and the author does a credible job of making each feel real.
The plot is interesting and enough to keep you hooked, while the pace is simply relentless but little bit slow at some point, building some almost tangiable feelings of tension and the ending is nothing short of spectacular. The writing is superb, the author has a confidence you don't often find in a debut novel, with a real flare for descriptive verse, immersive and irrepressible.
