It was a little confusing at times, forcing me to read back a few pages to see if I missed a tiny detail. And I feel like a lot of important dialogue was left out in favour of less important things. However, this book has a lot of growth and twists. I can't wait to see what the finale holds!
Continue Cassi's journey on Arcadia in Book 3 of the Starfire Wars. Total Score: 5/5
Reviewer: Teresa Fallen Angel
Summary: Cassi is about to find out that everything she thought about her life is about to change. Cassie’s connection with Javin is going to be challenged in ways she never expected. There are secrets on Arcadia that it’s own people have no memory of. The danger from Earth continues to accelerate allowing those individuals who are willing to take advantage of the situation to maintain their own power.
This book took off where book to ended taking the reader or listener to the audible book on an unexpected and intricate journey. I for one can’t wait to find out how this series will conclude.
It felt like this third book in the series really moved along. Cassi learns a lot more about the Starfire and has to deal with the fallout from certain choices. There was some good character development and the story moved along quite a bit. It's interesting watching Cassi decide who she wants to be and what choices she wants to make.
The violence wasn't graphic, but there was a pretty high body count on this one. Also, I'm hoping in the next book there's more insight into what makes the main bad person behave as they do.
The ending was a little bit of a rougher cliffhanger than the previous books. I'm anxious for the final book in the series.
I’m just having a really hard time with these. Every time I put the book away, even for like an hour, I forget what’s going on. It’s almost like there’s too much happening and I can’t retain it because it’s there and then it’s on to something next every ten pages or so. I’m also having a hard time visualizing the world and buying into the fact that this girl is everything important to the entire world. And now the star fire is really AI? Again, some new “twist” every other chapter. It’s a lot to keep up with and I’m over it.
The writing is good but everything else is just falling flat for me but I keep reading just to get to the end.

In this third book of The Starfire Wars series so much is happening. Cassie learns so much more about the Starfire. But Ms Penner turns and twists this story in so many ways you can get so tangled you’ll never get straight again. A very imaginative story with wonderful characters and great descriptions of the worlds surrounding them. The ending was spectacular and surprising. I never would have thought it possible. At the same time it was very sad and heartbreaking. I can’t wait for the next book to find out what happens next.
Parallax first page starts of directly following the cliffhanger from book two, Dark Matter. Once again we are drawn into the world created by Mrs. Penner. The story has grown more complex as more things are being revealed allowing us readers the opportunity to start understanding the reasoning behind the struggles Cassi & our other characters faced. Parallax sets the stage as it prepares us for the final book, the much anticipated conclusion of a unique series. Bring on Zenith💫
In my review of book 2, I expressed frustration not knowing more about the Starfire crystals. It’s as if the author knew we would want to know more because she finally explains more about the crystals in this book. However, the explanations seemed to make up a good chunk of the book which was annoying. Also, some of the scenes and past situations don’t make any sense with what we know now. I don’t think the book was written very well but I am still planning to read the next one as I’m curious how this all ends.
Nonstop action! Cassi discovers more about the Starfire and her ability to use it. Will she be able to help the aggressive Alku become peaceful again? They come up with a plan to portal to Earth and convince the world Senate and other powerful people that the Alku are peaceful and that the Starfire shouldn’t be mined. Her father portals at the end of the book - what will be the outcome? Hammond is about to begin mining again - can she be stopped? Note that I read an ARC copy of this book.
A quick read. I'm enjoying the story, however, I'm not thrilled that each book ends on a cliffhanger and then have to wait till the next book comes out. Despite my actual interest in this story, I like the world the author has built, I gave this book 3 stars because it is lacking some depth and development. I do intend to read the next, 4th in the series, book "Zenith" as I must follow Cassi's journey to conclusion.
~I received this as an advanced reader's copy by the author for my honest review~ I actually was thinking about this series just a few days before the email containing my copy of the book arrived! I devoured it within a few days and the ending caught me by surprise! Really quite a few points in the book were shocking and I was expecting them. Poor Cassi is dealing with a lot of stress and pressure but keeps holding up! I cannot wait for the next book!
Just when I thought I understood what was happening and that Cassi was taking charge of all the crazy, I get slapped with more crazy and it's a whirlwind of emotions and excitement! This series is getting better and better. The storyline is incredible, the characters are growing and becoming more and the world building is so intense, you can't help but be captivated!
Cassi's journey continues in this third book to offer a great reading experience. She has really learned a lot and now has difficult choices ahead of her. I really enjoyed the book and recommend the series. It is well written and offers a really interesting storyline.
This book you find Cassi is utter dispear at loosing her connection with Javin. Despite her dower moods she works to over come her loss and works with her friends to fix the plethora of problems that have been created.
It was a fund journey and I can't wait for the next book.
This is the third book in the Starfire Wars series and picks right up where book three left off and the narrator does a wonderful job keeping you pulled in and works every single twist and turn perfectly. The characters are so great and the descriptions of the worlds that they are in make it easy for you to believe you are able to see them in your head
I loved this third entry in the Starfire Wars. It harkens back to the first book on quality where number 2 had slipped a bit. This exciting and thought-provoking. The narrator was perfect. I'm ready to listen to the next book!
I received a free audio version from the publisher; all opinions are my own.
I haven’t reviewed before this book but it has definitely been a surprise series. Was recommended by my kindle unlimited and I have not been disappointed.
Real rating is more like a 3.25.... not sure how I feel about this one. I have mixed feelings... First I did like all the cool tech mentioned in this book! The Connects (which is like a communication device), the fact that the famed Starfire is actually super advanced nanotech. All the mission impossible situations were pretty cool. What I didn't like was Cassie's never ending need of being with Javen. Like I get that they're a couple and you know we all need a little romance but she would repeatedly focus on him and be pining after him. Always thinking about him, needing his presence and whatnot. Like girl we need you to focus! You have a planet to save! And she was always trying to keep secrets and not share her "burdens" only to have that backfire....the ending was a good cliffhanger, though so I'll probably read the last book.
