Zed and Kara are delivering a message to the seven dwarves when they discover one of their number is missing. Not only that, but Snow White arrives and shows them the remains of a letter she received that seems to indicate the missing dwarf was kidnapped! Snow White is getting married tomorrow. Can Zed and Kara find the missing dwarf before the wedding is ruined?
This provided a very humorous new look at Snow White's Evil Queen stepmother. She's more needy than sinister. (Her issues are quite funny.) The mystery is a different one too than what might first be suspected. Readers will be challenged to figure out what is really going on before Zed, Kara, and Snow White. It's more a comedy of errors and jumping to conclusions than anything nasty going on. So it is the perfect read for those looking for a light-hearted post-fairy tale mystery adventure.

This was another fun installment from the Once Upon a Fairy Tale series. We have enjoyed watching these two solve multiple mysteries.
In this story, the friends have to solve what happened to the dwarf. Of course my 6 year old knew that part of the note was ruined and likely caused the confusion, she still wasn't able to fully predict what had happened.
These are fun and easy chapter books. I'm hoping we can get a few more from the Scholastic Book Club next year. They are a great intro to chapter books for young readers because the chapters are pretty short and there are lots of pictures to go with the story. My 6 year old is graduating Kindergarten this week but reading at the end of 2nd grade level, so we will be starting simple chapter books on her own this summer.

When one dwarf goes missing and Snow White receives what appears to be a threatening ransom note, everyone is convinced that the Evil Queen has ill intentions for Snow White and her prince's upcoming nuptials. Kara and Zed are on the case to follow the clues and track down the missing dwarf.
