Mason and Shane are pregnant with the first of the next generation of Buchanans. Shane is taking it all in stride, while Mason is losing his mind. And, while Mason is losing his mind, Aiden, Gabriel, and Michael are...
Aiden's holding a grudge that Denise let Gabriel and Justice get pregnant before they did.. Gabriel's trying to force Justice into early maternity leave... Michael's driving Sophia crazy because he just found out she's pregnant...
There's not much to add to my bio, I'm pretty boring...LOL. My favorite thing is to read and, last year, I decided to trade in some of those reading hours and try my hand at writing. The experience has been one of the best things I could have ever embarked upon. It's turned into a hobby that is fun and thoroughly enjoyable. When I'm not reading or writing, I'm spending time with my family or friends.
One positive: It was super nice to read a little more about these characters that have come to mean a lot over the past couple of days. I enjoyed reading about their happiness.
One negative: I’m so tired of reading about how perfect Shane is. She’s sweet and she’s pure, that’s enough, damn.
This is a follow up novella, sort of an extended epilogue for The Buchanan Brothers series.
I had mixed feelings on this series. I loved some of the characters (Justice, is by far my favorite character in the series), while I found some lacking (I found both Shane and Denise to be rather dull). Still, I wanted to read this and see what was going on with the Buchanans. (okay, mostly just Gabe and Justice)
This story opens with one of the next generation of Buchanans turning twenty-one. We find out that there are a lot of new Buchanans. I didn't really understand why we needed this opening, since, as far as I know we aren't getting a next generation series. Basically, we just learn how many kids each couple had and our narrator, Mason and Shane's oldest, tells us how much in love all of his aunts and uncles, along with his parents are.
The story then goes back and we get a chapter from each of the previous four books main characters, starting with Mason and Shane. Shane is pregnant with their first child. From there we get a glimpse into each couple's life.
This novella is basically a love letter to the character of Shane, so, if like me she's not your favorite, it's a bit annoying. The Buchanan men still drop everything for her (seriously, Aiden is in the middle of nearly having sex with his wife, ignores Mason's phone call, but when Shane's ringtone hits his phone, he immediately has to answer it. He basically says "I'd do anything for Shane." and Denise is just like "of course").
Nope.
This is repeated with Gabe and Michael. They pretty much say how Shane is "special" (seriously, I got so sick of hearing that throughout this series) and she is the most important person in their family.
Denise, Justice, and Sophia, at this point really should have walked away.
I was hoping for a Happily Ever After for everyone, rather than Denise, Justice and Sophia playing second fiddle to the all mighty, "special" Shane.
It kind of undercuts the romance between the other couples when the men are acting like their sister in law is way more important than their wives.
It is, essentially, why I didn't give any of the previous books a higher rating, and why I don't think this novella is worth more than one star.
start with the perspective of a second generation Buchanan, if you’re not ending with a lead in to a new book spinoff series?!? What a tease! Lol
This was sweet to see. But I was already over all of them except for Michael, who was my favorite. I liked that he got such special recognition in a few ways in this book. I wish there was more Buchanan books to come. I was really interested in the characters of this series and I’m glad I found this collection and read it.
I loved this extended epilogue for the Buchanan series. The only thing I found annoying was how all the brothers put Shane on a pedestal, the way they talked about her gave me the impression that she was more important to them that their own wives 😒 ~*~ °Epilogue: around 21 years later Mason and Shane had 5 children Aiden and Denise had 6 children Gabriel and Justice had 4 children Michael and Sophia had 5 children

“I stared at my wife, and the woman still took my breath away, five years later. Shane stole my heart and soul the first time I ever laid eyes on her. And she definitely stole my motherfucking sanity along with the other two”
I definitely enjoyed this more than all the other books! I’m a sucker for “epilogues” and an extra book serving as an extended epilogue!? me likey!
I love that we get a short little book as our HEA this was a great way to finish the series. I want more Buchanan's maybe a series on the kiddos? Please i am begging!!!!!
This series is at its end, and I’m really going to miss it a lot, and this story makes it that much harder to get over this book. This too short, novella is an extended epilogue, and it fulfils every happy ending epilogue that was missing in the individual books.
Mason and Shane are gearing up for their baby’s arrival, with Mason’s craziness and Shane’s sweetness. The entire scene of her water breaking was hilarious! It was the sweetest thing I’d ever seen. Mason Buchanan in a panic.
Aiden is still going crazy over Gabriel baby being 2 months older than his, and Dibtab ignoring his craziness. “You’re also nuts, so your opinion doesn’t hold much value in the real world.” I wanted a little girl so damn badly. I wanted 17 trillion little girls with dark brown ringlets, light caramel complexions and smiles that lit up my entire world.
Gabriel giving Justice all the time and attention and love that he missed out on in these past few years. “I don’t care what you say, or how much you claim to be over the fact that I was such a dick, I’ll never stop making it up to you.”
And Micheal, my absolute favorite baby, driving Sophia crazy every day, while making her feel his love and annihilating her insecurities. They way he decides to glue himself to her belly, is epic and so very like Micheal. “I have no problem with it, at all. However, you still can’t just be attached to my stomach, Michael.” “I don’t turn you on half as much as you turn me on, baby. And I can’t wait until Pebble grows and grows and I can see you waddling around beautifully pregnant.”
The birth scene and the naming and the little surprise in the end. OMG, I shed a tear. Sigh. I’m going to miss these folks.
