We all know that Questions that directly ask “What is the Input of that process” or what is the Tool and Technique of that process?” are very few. But the number of Scenario Based questions are nearly 80% of the entire exams. These Scenario based questions are hard because it becomes difficult to understand from the scenario which process is being discussed or described or which process has been missed out or which process comes next. This is where having a mastery on the ITTOs come in handy. By knowing which Tools & Techniques or Inputs or Outputs is resident of which process, it helps you determine, very easily, the processes in context in the given scenario thus helping you answer the question with ease and confidence.
Ok! Let me give you an example right away.
“You are a Project Manager working on a project for developing a viable E-drive torque product for the new generation of Electrical Cars. The trial samples are under review and load testing, where some alarming omissions from checklists, used for development stage, have come to light. The detailed report is mentioned in the standard Quality Control Measurements. What should the Project Manager do next?”
The real challenge is to figure out if this scenario is talking about Scope Validation or Control Quality or Control Scope or Mange Quality. Confusing …. right?
Ok, let me change that for you in a jiffy.
Two of the most important outputs of the process Control Quality are Quality Control Measurements and Verified Deliverables. The output Quality Control Measurements becomes INPUT to only one process and that is Manage Quality and is a feedback to the prevention activities. Now with this information, read the question again. See, the answer is so simple.
Yes! The very next thing the PM has to do is go back to Manage Quality and strengthen Checklist. Now just imagine if you were armed to the teeth with such ITTO patterns. And well, that’s what this book is all about.
