Jacob Michaels...er...Rob Wagner lays in the muck at the edge of the woods, heart in his throat, breath coming in gasps, whispers filling his ears. A wolf howl sounds in the distance. Running for his life, Rob does everything he can to escape the visions and whispers...but some creatures are faster. By the time morning comes, a person will be dead and Rob will be unsure of whether or not he is responsible. With the help of Lucas, Rob has to quickly find out what exactly is going on--if they could just keep their hands off of each other. There is also the nagging feeling that Rob and Lucas can't trust their memories. Nor are they sure that they actually remember everything as it has happened. Things get even more complicated when Sheriff Dennard lets on that he knows who Rob really is. Throw a werewolf pack and its Alpha into the mix, a horde of paparazzi, Kobolds who can't decide who they are loyal to, and odd flashes of memories and dreams, and Rob can't help but want to give up.Most importantly...what is down in the cellar? If Rob figures that out...can life ever be the same? Or will everything start to get back to normal?
Chase Connor spends his days writing about the people who live (loudly and rent-free) in his head when he’s not busy being enthusiastic about naps and Pad Thai. Chase started his writing career as a confused gay teen looking for an escape from reality. Ten years later, one of the books he wrote during those years, Just A Dumb Surfer Dude: A Gay Coming-of-Age Tale, was published independently. Chase has numerous projects in various stages of completion lined up for publishing. Chase is a multi-genre author, but always with a healthy dollop of gay.
Another great episode to this wonderful series. The supernatural mysteries continue with parts of Rob's backstory revealed. Lucas is deepened and the romance intensifies. Oma is at her finest with some hilarious lines and a shotgun. Here we meet new characters/enemies that increase the conflict. We're left with more intrigue and unanswered questions at the end. It'll be great to see what happens and what else is revealed in future books.
Okay, so this had a bit more but still I feel like the things are trickled out not only slowly but also reluctantly. It is a tad bit aggravating, if I may be honest. I’m hoping we get the rest of the story/mystery in the next book! 🤞
I genuinely feel this series gets better with every book. To say I am addicted to these books is a huge understatement. I can't seem to get enough of them. I read all three stories in less than 2 days, if that tells you anything.
You know when you're at the top of a roller coaster? You're getting ready to drop... and then...woosh!...you go racing down at full speed! Well, that is exactly how this book starts. The beginning is incredibly fast paced. You are immediately dropped down right into the middle of all the mystery, adventure, and action that is happening in Point Worth. And -- in case you are wondering -- it starts exactly where book #2 ('Jacob Michaels Is Not Crazy') ends.
Rob (Jacob's real name) is once again just trying to understand and wrap his head around all the strange events that have recently happened (and actually keep happening) around him. He also begins to have weird visions. Or are they memories? Just dreams? He's not sure what is going on, but the questions keep piling up with very few answers in sight.
Amidst all the adventure, Rob's romance with Lucas deepens and...wow! Do I ever love these two together. They are so smitten with each other and have a hard time keeping their hands off each other. Mmmmm....it's just YUM!
However as their feelings for each other intensify, they are faced with all the weird things that keep happening almost every time they turn around. Rob is also still trying to figure out his own identity. Is Jacob completely gone? Is he just Rob? He continues to be frustrated and confused and is desperate for some answers.
And, of course, there is Oma (the grandmother). Even though I love all the characters in the book, I have to say Oma is hands down my favorite. I love how she speaks without hesitation or reservation. She just says whatever she wants -- it's hysterical, entertaining, and somehow very addicting to hear her rant, yell, and bicker with anyone and everyone. Yet even though she doesn't censor her mouth (at all), she's completely lovable.
Just like in the last book, I don't feel there's much of the storyline I can get into without spoiling anything. Just know that it is intense and some parts are very fast-paced. There are so many twists and turns, at times it might seem hard to catch your breath. It is definitely a page-turner -- my curiosity kept me turning the pages almost faster than I could read the story.
Chase Connor is a talented story-teller, and he is gifted at keeping your attention and holding it for the duration of the book. He expertly weaves the story and, before you know it, you are completely engrossed and almost desperate to find out what happens next.
So, needless to say, I'm obsessed with this series. And -- in case you are wondering -- this book ends with the MOTHER of all cliffhangers!!! Grrr. I mean, what am I supposed to do now? When does the next book come out? Hmm. Not happy at all with having to wait.
*Sigh* It appears I'll have to be patient. Wait. I know -- I'll spend the time while I'm waiting figuring out how to get a Kobold of my own. I really want one. Scratch that -- I really NEED one. If you could see the state of my house right now...

Thoughts: 1.) Any book that dives into the supernatural should always have mystery, revelations and secrets that fuel the story. That being said, when the Story involves an ongoing series or set number of books, some mysteries, secrets and revelations need to be revealed to build upon the story, characters and for each individual book itself as a payoff or run the risk of losing the reader's interest or losing threads of a plot point.
This is the third book in the Jacob Michaels is series (A Point Worth Paranormal Romance )
This book was frustrating I get that there's a mystery about what happened to both Rob and Lucas when they where teenagers and I don't really get WHY werewolves are even in this series because they really serve no purpose none that can see at this moment anyway . It's clear to me that something terrible happened back than that both Rob and Lucas had to have their memories altered looking forward to finally finding out what that is and getting to the bottom of this mystery .
Another great book in the series. They just keep getting better!
The dialogue between the characters is superb, and each character stands out in their own right. Sometimes you really dislike his grandma, but that's the intention of the writer. Most of the time, however, her banter is excellent and hilarious. I have not stopped laughing throughout this whole book.
And I'm so invested in the relationship between Rob and Lucas. They have stolen my heart.
And that cliffhanger!!! I'm about to dive straight into book 4 because I can't wait to find out what happens.
As we delve farther into what Jacob or Rob is dealing with back home in Point Worth, there are more questions and more mysteries. I love how this series is progressing. It's a slow unpacking that just gets more intriguing with each page. New characters are introduced at the same time that history is unraveling.
This series has me hooked and I'm loving each story more and more as I dive further into each. On to the next!
From one cliff hanger to the next, Chase Connor is unfolding the story like a burlesque striptease. Three books in and the fans haven't even come out yet, but I've salivating and panting for more. There's so much happening in this book and mere hints at possible answers. CC is quickly becoming a new favorite author.
The 3rd book of Chase Connors Point Worth series is another winner. There is a maturity to the book that seemed to be missing, and I'm glad it's there. I am really enjoying this journey. I hope that Rob finds what he is looking for, without losing himself again.
This has been a great series so far and book 3 did not disappoint. The evolution of the series and Rob and Lucas have been great. The next book now...please!!!
Things are starting to make sense but at the same time his world is suddenly bigger then what he thought. Rob is about to face his past is it a good thing probably not but you probably know Rob by now.
There's probably nothing I can say about this series that hasn't already been said. So I'll just say I'm enjoying this series immensely and I look forward to the next book.
This series gets better and better with each book. We're finding out more about Lucas and Rob's past, their relationship is deepening, and the paranormal stakes are being raised with each new outing. Be warned that this series is being published in serial form, so each book ends on a nail-biting cliffhanger that will make you anxious for the next installment. There is also strong language and spicy sex scenes if that's not your thing, but they are integral to the characters and story and by no means gratuitous. By turns funny, scary, steamy, sweet, and wise, sometimes all at the same moment, these books are a fun and, at times, surprisingly emotional thrill ride from a talented storyteller.
I don't think that I can express in words how much I love this book and the whole series...sadly my review can't in the form of an interpretive dance, so I'll just gush. I love Lucas, and my love grows with every new book. Oma is my spirit animal. I want to be just like her when I grow up. And there was a plot twist that I didn't see coming, but that has me so impatient for the next installment! In conclusion, I love this book, a lot. Note: there are some vaguely described sex scenes and tons of cursing.
