She keeps her heart locked up tight

Putting yourself out there? Getting close to others? No, thanks, I’ll pass. It’s safer to keep to yourself. I’ve learned that lesson the hard way. So when I accidentally tell the muscled hunk I’ve been secretly drooling over all semester how I really feel about him, it’s not like I meant for him to take an interest in me. I don’t want a boyfriend. Not even when it turns out he’s so much more than just brawn.

My goal for so long has been simple - get into grad school. And when I get a dream TA position at the beginning of the new semester that will help me achieve just that, I’ll have to forget about him now that he’s my student. Easy, right?

He wants her to let go of all that control

I can’t get her out of my head - the shy, sexy brunette that’s trying so hard to keep me at a distance. I can be patient, though. Anything to break through that reserve and get under her shields. But just when I thought I’ve succeeded, she’s off-limits. Say hello to my new TA. Even though I’m hot for teacher, there’s no way she would risk this opportunity. Right?

** ARC kindly provided by the author for an honest review. **

Allie Winters is a new author to me. So what about a story about a TA and his student who were already over before they started? I was looking forward to reading it.

Overall I enjoyed it. I appreciated Charlotte awkwardness and secretive personality. A girl who needed a little push to show her true colors, someone who loved to talk about books and passionate about it. Fun, sweet and not that uptight girl she seemed to be.

Luke was one of a kind. Determined, focused on his studies, very charming. I adored how he pushed Charlotte a bit in her bubble of comfort. To really make her feelings shown even if it was a bit difficult firsthand. Le freaking sigh…

I adored Charlotte and Luke’s interactions and they had such a beautiful chemistry.

However, it took me awhile to appreciate the story. The beginning was a bit dragged out, Charlotte on and off reactions gave me whiplash. One step forward, three steps backwards. I guess it ruined the dynamic a little. Some parts were coming a little late to the story, and probably if things came out a little sooner it would have avoided “unnecessary” length and heaviness.

The second part was so much better, a bit disturbing from the beginning but a great u-turn. It felt less hesitant, building this slow burn side that I adored. The lines were totally blurred and it was more bold, smoking hot and more passionate. To finally let go.

It brought a great balance in comparison to the beginning when the author was settling the pace and the story.

It was a very promising debut novel. The writing was good, and the topics raised felt real and readers could definitely relate to. It has a great blend of sweetness, fun, swoony moments and sexy ones. Luke was definitely a keeper!!

Spanish:

¿Sigue siendo cierto?"

Todos esos cambios que de la noche a la mañana se forman, pero al menos se pone picante con unas escenas muy sexys y otras un tanto divertidas.

English:
"Let Go" by Allie Winters is the first book in the "Suncoast University" series. Also is the first book I have read by this author. It' s a new adult romance in a university world. It' s very sweet and changes into a forbidden romance.

Charlotte sits next to the sexy and muscular guy all semester until she can't contain herself and expresses her feelings to him. Luke can't get that shy young woman out of his head either, and his love affair begins, but after the Christmas holidays, everything changes and gets complicated after how well he was doing.

This book is divided into two parts that make the course of history change its meaning. Charlotte has a crush on Luke, and from my own experience, it's very complicated to have that person sitting next to you. From there, everyone faces their feelings and exposes them.

“Will you be my New Year’s Kiss? he asks quietly. He looks series, like the answer really matters to him, and his hands grip me tighter around the waist.
“Yes” I blurt out, acting purely on instint.

I loved that first part where both characters get to know each other and slowly get to have something. But then everything changes become more complicated that makes the book more addictive, and you can't stop reading.

“We're not going down that road. I'm not losing you again. You told me you loved me. Is that still true?"

All those changes that happen overnight, but at least it gets hot with some very sexy and some funny scenes.

I received this book in exchange for a review.

Luke Richard's is my new favorite book boyfriend! Omg how cute is he!?!?! Sits in the front row of classes because he knows he wont pay attention if he has how many rows of other people to watch, and is going to school to be a physical therapist... sounds like a great guy! 😉 every girl has eyes on him... one in particular is Charlotte... shes the goody two shoes who has had her heart broken one too many times and keeps to herself except with her roommate and BFF Becca.
Charlotte is going for a lit degree and she needed an elective class to fill her schedule. Shes watches her golden boy from afar all semester but one fateful night at a Halloween party that her roomie and her boyfriend host, she let's loose and cant keep her hands off this hunk when he starts dancing with her... little does she know until she turns around that it's her golden boy!

Ever since that night, they've gotten close and talked more and just when she thinks she can open herself up again, she becomes his TA! Luke is the the best book boyfriend as he continues to pin for Charlotte and wont let her down easy... so freaking adorable!!

I got this as an ARC from the author and this is a first read of hers for me.

I have to say this blurb had be itching to read this book! It sounded so good. Gotta love a forbidden love story.

Charlotte I just loved her. She was so sweet and shy. Having her heart broken by her stupid ex boyfriend she was done with guys. Well all except her crush she looks at from afar everyday. She knows nothing about him but that he is very smart, always sits in the front of the class, giving her the best opportunities to just look at him. When she is late to her test she sits right down not thinking and gets to work. Little did she know he was sitting next to her. Everything about him distract her from her test.

Luke is just taking his test and he notices this beautiful brunette come stumbling into the class late for the test. She is side tracked by her big smile that just seems to light up the room. Then she comes and sits down next to him. What is he supposed to do with her vanilla scent making his mind race, he had to know who she was. She tried to wait it out as long as he could to get a chance to talk to her but he needed to get to his next class and she seemed to be taking her time with the test. Then he runs into her at a friends party but what happens next he had no clue would happen.
Can they make it work out or is it just too hard to overcome everything?

I loved everything about Luke and Charlotte’s story. How he was with her just melted my heart. How she was always in her head and didn’t know how to forget her past. Ughh just an amazing story! I am looking forward to book 2 and hope I get more of them in it hehe!!

This book was a good read. Once I got into I really enjoyed it. By chapter 3 I was hooked and laughing. Charlotte found herself in some embarrassing situations.
The chemistry between the two is off the charts.
This was an amazing first book by a new author and I can't wait to read her next book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 STARS

This debut novel by new to me Allie Winters was such an enjoyable read. I loved the dynamics between Luke and Charlotte. Although Charlotte admired Luke from afar, yet also was avoiding everything she thought Luke represented, I respected Luke's continued pursuance regardless of her hang-ups.

The angst from the forbidden aspect of their relationship added that extra excitement. I recommend picking up this MUST read romance. Let Go by Allie Winters will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ELITE!!!

Allie is a new to me author. This is a really good debut book. It was well written and easy to read. This first part of the book was a little slow to begin and didn't really fit the blurb. The second part was excellent and fit it perfectly. I loved Luke! Charlotte was a ok but I didn't feel about her as I did with Luke.
Overall this is a great book and I will definitely read more from this author

Charlotte is your seemingly quiet, driven and beautiful bookworm who often stumbles over her words and believes she is embarrassing herself. I found her endearing and completely relate to her quirkiness.
Luke is so much more than he seems! Gorgeous, motivated and completely understanding and enthralled with Charlotte. Compassionate, smart, kind, not bad on the eyes either...what more could a girl ask for?
Their chemistry is off the charts from the beginning and feeling it mounting throughout the book was intense and I loved it. I was so invested in their love story and that’s solely due to Allie’s incredible writing and these loveable characters she created.
A respectful, passionate and steamy relationship! Luke never pushed Charlotte and was continuously supportive of her and her goals, and even though things got in the way at times he never begrudged her that. I love the level of respect and intimacy these two had!
I devoured this book so quickly and I will definitely be going back for rereads. I cannot fault Allie’s writing style or the flow of the book. I only put it down to work and sleep!

This has to be one of the most beautiful books that I have written. Charlotte is awkward, shy, relationship shy and super smart. Having been burnt before, she isn’t looking for a relationship with anyone, but she doesn’t take on board Luke Richards, a guy who she has been secretly obsessing about in one of her Uni classes. Luke is kind, sweet, sexy and also working towards his own career goals. When these two meet, first as acquaintances, then friends you are on the sidelines watching the relationship build as Charlotte and Luke come to terms with how they fit together. But like in most love stories, it isn’t smooth sailing and due to unforeseen circumstances things have to go on the back-burner between the two for a while, but that doesn’t mean forever as we find out in the book.

This was a lovely and well written book. I really enjoyed Charlotte’s awkwardness and how sweet Luke was. At times the relationship was awkward due to communication and circumstances but it never felt too far-fetched. The story is definitely a slow burn but there are some amazingly hot scenes throughout the book that make it all worthwhile. The two characters also have really good banter which makes you smile throughout the book and just makes it an easy read.

As a first book by this author, it is definitely worth a read, especially if you like sweet, HEA books. Additional characters are interesting and I can’t wait to read about Luke’s cousin, Samantha in the next book in this series: Watch me which comes out soon.

ARC received for a fair and honest review.

A slow burn romance that will have your heart singing by the turn of the last page. Luke started as Charlotte’s class crush. Thanks to a Halloween party they finally meet. Unbeknownst to her he had his eye on her as well. This is when the push and pull begins.

Still going through a bad relationship, she was gun shy to start anything with Luke. Luke is a strong, smart guy who isn’t willing to let something he wants go. He fights for what he wants. He finally was making a break through and then Charlotte finally gets her dream job as a teaching assistant. Unfortunately, Luke is a student in the class. Big snag but Luke finds ways to still say present in her life outside of school. Guy is a master of strategy. I loved seeing him win the girl and getting her to finally Let Go.

I really enjoyed this book. Usually this type of genre isn't my thing, but something about it kept me reading and i am glad i did, the chemistry between Charlotte and Luke was electrifying and i enjoyed the fact that this author showed a vulnerable side to this charecter it made it more relatable and Luke being the out of reach man finally into the cute quirky girl. First by this author and so glad i got to read this story 😊

Heat Factor: Steamy, steamy, steamy.

Character Chemistry: She’s a future English professor, and he’s a future physical therapist. So you better believe there’s chemistry mentally AND physically.

Plot: A young English major gets beyond distracted by her classmate only to discover it’s very mutual. Things progress beautifully until the romance has to be put on hold for professional reasons. The young couple has to figure out what their future holds…and if they can wait that long.

Overall: THIS BOOK NEEDS TO BE READ BY ALL YOUNG WOMEN. Period.

It’s a bold statement, but I’m saying it again–young women need more books like this. Young women should read books like this.

I fell in love with this book. The main characters are genuinely likeable. Charlotte is smart, responsible, and put together–she’s also an English major and like every English major I’ve ever met, she’s spunky and curious. Luke is gorgeous and ambitious. He’s a good friend and he has a good head on his shoulders. He knows what he wants and he knows it’s worth working for. So when they fall in love, you can’t HELP but cheer them on.

That’s why it’s good–why it’s important is a little deeper. I loved that Charlotte and Luke don’t play games, and that the author doesn’t set up elaborate misunderstandings for the couple to stumble through. They have a healthy relationship. Luke respects Charlotte’s boundaries. They communicate about their needs and they don’t pressure each other or lash out when they don’t get what they want. Luke fully supports Charlotte’s ambitions, and Charlotte appreciates Luke’s sensitivity without treating him like he’s some kind of saint for being a good guy. This stuff matters–and when it’s done in a way that is flat-out sexy and engaging? So incredible.

Here’s my favorite example: Charlotte and Luke can’t pursue a physical relationship while Charlotte is employed in a teaching position at the college. He writes a VERY sexy little short story for her, and she writes one back. When he loses her sexy story at the college library, I expected her to ditch him angrily and for him to work his way into her good graces. Instead, she gets upset but helps him look–and then after talking to him, easily forgives him and moves on. She doesn’t bring it back up and throw it in his face or cry and rage at him. Relationships should look like this–they should be melt-your-pants-off sexy, loving, kind, forgiving, and supportive. Young women should know that you can have relationships that look like that.

This review might make it seem like this is a vanilla, proper, preachy book–but it’s not. Men who respect women ARE sexy, and women who are comfortable with their own sexuality? That’s about as sexy as it can get. Throw in Allie Winters’ excellent writing and some secondary characters I hope to see more of, and you’ve got yourself a hot book.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. We disclose this in accordance with 16 CFR §255.

HOLY HELL!!! FORBIDDEN LOVERS ROMANCE FOR THE WIN!!! I don’t know what I expected from this book, but my expectations were exceeded immensely.

Continuous Thought Loop While Reading: couple goals. couple goals. couple goals.

Wow. I’ve never fallen in love with a couple so quickly. Charlotte and Luke are the ultimate GOALS couple. Allie Winters really knew what she was doing when she wrote this book.

We meet Charlotte, an awkward introvert, who loves reading more than social interaction (sounds painfully familiar), when she professes her obsession …not love… with a handsome man who sits in the front row of her Psychology class in college. She stares at the back of this guys head every class period for months. Like true stalker style. I love it. She doesn’t even know his name, but is drawn to him like no one she’s ever met. Then…BAM. He shows up at a Halloween party her roommate, Becca, and her boyfriend Josh are throwing. Apparently Josh is friends with our mystery man, Luke. Because of course he is, right? Luke and Charlotte have a run-in at the party and then the fun REALLY begins.

Being completely truthful with you guys, Charlotte is my favorite type of female lead. She is uncomfortable in her own skin and puts her foot in her mouth all the time. She reacts on instinct, only later realizing that she could have handled situations better. The best thing about leading ladies like this, is that they come into themselves during the story. She finds confidence and strength. These women sometimes find this power through their male counterpart (those stories are a total eye roll), sometimes they find it by overcoming something holding them back in their past, and sometimes they find it through their own bravery; taking the bull by the horns and owning their mistakes. This story contains all three and it’s PURE MAGIC. We get to experience Charlotte taking risks she never would have before meeting Luke. She takes it upon herself to open doors out of her own volition. She keeps her head on straight and knows what she wants out of life. She makes sacrifices that hurt her in the moment, but only help her grow in the long run. Charlotte is incredibly admirable. Can’t you tell how much I love her? 🙂 A unique and fascinating character that I wish I could meet in real life.

Luke is a whole other ball game. He is out of this world perfect. He doesn’t realize the effect he has on women. I can’t even begin to describe him. I’m over here drooling just thinking about him. AH. Just imagine your ideal man – that’s Luke. He takes the time necessary to with Charlotte to get her comfortable around him. He comes up with extraordinary ( and HOTT) ways to get her to open up to him. Ladies. Charlotte and Luke’s love is unreal. He professes his love to her in a moment of emotional explosion that had me sobbing in bed. Gah! This whole book is a perfectly poised and beautifully executed gem. I’m so in love. 5 stars goes out to you, Allie Winters.

Let Go and stop going through the motions - don't alot of us do that? Remember to live a little & embrace those special moments is what we have to remember! This book a good reminder to do just that.

This is a perfect book for those off to college or just started dating (or had a hard time dating). Perfect glimpse in what to look for & what to run from lol!

Charlotte's focused on her educational goals and when she dies take a chance dates a loser that breaks her heart (yeah we all saw that coming & all should prepare for it). Raised by a single mom she had to grow up fast and responsible with no siblings to share the load.

She meets up with a gentleman with focused goals & driven too. He is hot & laid back. Luke has taken notice of her and wants her but notices she is gun shy. Their story goes through trials & tribulations but a real test jeopardize the relationship that just begin or the career breaker opportunity.......

That is not all, not just a college romance but "love letters" will steam up your glasses. I mean you are not going to want to miss those... "Let Go" has new meaning 😉

A great book - grab 2 copies one for you & another as a gift. Share with someone you care about so they chose the one worth investing their heart in.

Original review: A Novel Glimpse

Note: This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased opinion.

I had a hard time melding all of my thoughts for Let Go into a review, so I’m going to be breaking things down by the good, the bad, and the confusing. Here we go!

The good:

*Let Go is Allie Winters’ debut novel. Her writing was good. What happened in Let It Go felt like something that could happen in real life. The descriptions were great and she was able to blend both seriousness and humor into one story. It was filled with awkward moments that were priceless. I can imagine that over time Allie Winters’ writing is really going to shine.
*Charlotte and Luke’s relationship was cute. I liked them together. She was kind of weird and uptight, and he was more relaxed and fun. Luke balanced Charlotte out in a lot of great ways.

The bad:

*Let Go started out slow. The first couple of chapters are Charlotte’s thoughts and stuff that happens to her without any real interactions from Luke. I found Charlotte annoying in those first couple of chapters. It wasn’t until Luke and Charlotte actually interacted that I became invested. It would have been nice if that would have happened in the first chapter.

The confusing:

*This felt almost like two books in one. When you read the blurb, it sounds like a student – TA romance. I actually forgot all about that part of the blurb because the first 44% was Charlotte and Luke building up to a relationship. Then at 44% the student – TA thing popped up. It was slighting jarring.
*The switch at 44% also brought with it a different feel to the book. The only way I can think to describe it is that Charlotte’s character quickly changed a bit. She was more awkward in the first part. In the second she became more mature and adventurous. It’s not that I didn’t like this Charlotte, I just wasn’t completely sold on the change.

Back to the good:

*Luke was the character who shined. He was the constant in this book. His feelings and thoughts never wavered. I liked how pure his intentions were and how he pushed Charlotte a bit.
*Looking back on the entire book, I can say I really enjoyed Luke and Charlotte’s relationship. There were so many funny and entertaining things that happened or were said. Like I said before, it was cute.

Overall, I would say I enjoyed reading this book despite feeling a little thrown off by some of it. My favorite thing about it was how humorous and close to real life it was.

I was gifted an Arc. Overall it was a great read. The back and forth of the romance between Charlotte and Luke threw me off a bit but the ending was wonderful. :) Charlotte took indecisiveness to a whole new level but Luke stayed “faithful” in his love for her.

If you love college romance this book is for you.

Great start to a new series!!!

Luke and Charlotte are college students who share a class together. They are both aware of the other, but neither have actually met until one night at a party. Ever since that night Charlotte has been telling herself Luke is off limits, but Luke wants her.

When the new semester rolls around and they find out that Charlotte is the TA for one of Luke’s classes, they realize being together isn’t an option. However as the semester chugs along it gets harder for them to deny their attraction. The question they have to ask is, are they willing to risk what they want for each other?

This is the first book I’ve read by Allie Winters and I have to say I enjoyed it immensely!! I loved watching the attraction blossom between Luke and Charlotte and how they overcame obstacles. Luke is the hero we all want. He is swoon worthy to say the least. This was a great book and I can’t wait for the next book to release!

A very good read

Let Go is the first book that I have read by Allie Winters, with that said I really enjoyed it. To some it may have had a lot of back and forth for a book, but for me it was like reading about myself. I was just like Charlotte more than I’d like to admit however I never found a Luke but I understood the hot and cold of Charlotte. I really didn’t expect Luke to be such an understanding guy, come on handsome, sexy, smart, and patient that’s not a combination you get often. And Allie the green folder ummm is it hot in here lol I was not expecting that to be in there but it was awesomely hot lol. Overall I loved the book can’t wait to read more of you books

This book is full of wonderful characters but Luke just takes it to a whole other level. Charlotte is a shy, timid woman who has been hurt by men leaving her unwilling to open up to just about anyone. Feeling like she is missing out on the greater things in life she opens up to Luke who she has been checking out all semester. To her surprise she finds not only does she find him physically appealing but she actually likes him, trusts him. Luke helps Charlotte open up and the too slowly discover just how much chemistry they actually have. With a few hiccups along the way the eventually get their HEA.

Feel good story

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, read it start to finish without stopping. The FMC Charlotte is relatable, keeps too ok herself, and is awkward and sometimes embarrassing in a very real way - not over the top like you find in some books. I laughed, I cringed along with her, and felt her excitement and hurt. And I just loved Luke... I like a good alpha-hole as much as the next girl, but it’s nice to read about the sweet, good guy (that likes a bit of dirty talk) every now and again, and he was just swoon-worthy perfection. I’d definitely recommend and will be reading more by this author.

Let Go is a slightly different approach to the forbidden lovers trope. Charlotte is a teachers assistant and happens to have super hunky student Luke in her class. I really liked that the teacher was the female lead, because usually it is the male lead as the "authority figure". Charlotte and Luke are both likeable characters and they have some great chemistry. I think Let Go is a good blend of contemporary, emotional, forbidden/friends to lovers romance. I look forward to reading book 2 in the Suncoast University series!

I loved this book. I especially loved the chemistry between the main characters. I really liked the anticipation of the two of them getting together, waiting for it to happen. This book had me laughing throughout with some of Charlotte’s awkward moments and swooning at Luke’s devotion to her. He’s really the ultimate book boyfriend. Wish I had a boyfriend like him. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Let go by Allie Winters is such a cute and intriguing story. It’s a true love story about insecurities, forbidden love situation, forgiveness and finally loves conquers all. I loved both characters and was really rooting for them. Can I get a boyfriend like that😂can’t wait to read Allie Winter’s new book.

DNF at 16%

I didn’t like the dialogue or the situations in this book – they felt unnatural and over the top. For example, Charlotte is late for an exam, so she doesn’t pay much attention when she rushes in, but she realises that she sat next to the guy she’s been staring at every lecture. She finds him so attractive that it makes it impossible for her to concentrate on her exam.

I didn’t like the interactions between Charlotte and Luke the other times they met, and I just didn’t care to read more about them.

Since I’ve liked some books by this author, I might try others in the future.

This book is filled with passion, support, friendship and self discovery!!

Luke and Charlotte have always noticed each other..... from afar until Halloween night when things get heated!

I loved the fact Luke knew and understood Charlotte's need and encouraged her to pursue her dreams. Even when that meant she couldn't be with him! He loved her even when he didn't realise it!

*1.5 ⭐️

So Charlotte and Luke met in Psych class. Charlotte has been crushing on Luke before she caught his eyes during an exam. They wanted to take things slow and agreed on it on New Year’s Eve, but when the new semester starts they find out that Charlotte is the new teaching assistant for Luke in Intro to Lit class; and since they can’t pursue a romantic relationship due to ethical reasons, they decided to wait it out and see what happens.

- what I thought:

eh. It’s not bad; it was just NOT good. Pretty mediocre. I personally didn’t feel the chemistry or the steam.

This was such a cute, funny and in some parts steamy book. It gives you all the feels. I absolutely loved the start of Luke and Charlotte, the Halloween party had me in tears laughing. All the awkwardness in the beginning with the two characters turned in to magic once they put their true feeling out in the open. It was kind of an amazing roller coaster to watch everything unfold. The next book is Samantha and I can’t wait for it.

Charlotte is not one to lose control. She learned from a few exes that its best to keep her guard up. Then Luke happened. The hot guy from her class who happens to be a friend of her roommate's best friend's boyfriend promising his presence around her often. When they start a small affair before she finds out she is his TA when the problems arise. Can these two forbidden lovers be together?

I loved this story; it was detailed, and the best word I can say is HOT. The characters were real and relatable. I loved Charlotte. She was so fun in an innocent way that I found myself relating to her on a lot of things. Luke was also fun to learn and follow.

Overall, I found myself sucked into the pages of this story. I was engulfed in the chemistry between Charlotte and Luke. The writing was excellent, and the story was real and fun. I loved it all. From beginning to end, I was hooked.

With a real and funny feel, overall I enjoyed this book even though it felt a bit disjointed at times.
