Friends and life. Life and friends. The two are so tightly interwoven it's impossible to imagine one being remotely worthwhile without the other. As Bradley Trevor Greive points out, "There are very few truly solitary creatures on this planet. And most of them have serious personal hygiene issues." What makes friends so special? What does our choice of friends say about us? What sparks the best friendships and keeps them burning? In Friends to the The True Value of Friendship, BTG uses his trademark witty narrative illustrated with irresistible animal photos to explore the daily magic we experience through our friends. Best described as a cross between his famously successful Dear Mom and The Blue Day Book, Friends to the End examines themes such as why we can't live without friends, how great friendships grow from humble beginnings, how to identify different types of friendship, what to do when good friends turn bad, and why it's all so worthwhile. "When I think back to all the really great or the horrendously bad times in my life," says BTG, "I can't help but think about how my friends made the former all the more enjoyable and the latter at least survivable. I want this book to help people appreciate friendship for all it is and all it can be."Friends to the End promises to have the same cultural impact achieved by his previous books. His modern classics The Blue Day Book and Dear Mom have been New York Times best-sellers and made the author a household name in more than 35 countries. BTG's seven previous volumes have sold more than seven million copies worldwide.

Den här lånade jag på biblioteket. En jättefin presentbok med varm och charmig humor och viktiga budskap. Boken kan jag definitivt tänka mig att köpa till en nära vän.
This beautiful little book about friends is an inspiring collection of animal pictures that correspond with the true value of friendship: what does and what does not make a good friend. It also explains why we all need alone time, but not too much. It explains how some friendships last a lifetime while others due to life changes depart from our lives. I would recommend this book to all but especially to young adolescents and animal lovers.
This was a quick, easy read that deals with the dynamics of friendship. The photographs are black and white and of different animals doing different things and are absolutely adorable. The captions are clever and more than a few made me smile.
I have just one friend outside of my family and she checked a lot of the boxes. I appreciate her anyway, but this made me appreciate her even more. It also made me appreciate my familial friends more.
A meditation on friendship, paired with animal pictures! These types of books are always fun to read. This book might make a good gift for a friend, to say how much you appreciate them, or just a short read for those looking to reflect on the friends they have and have had in their lives.
This is a sweet book about friendship given to me by a friend. The photos and sentiments are lovely and I recommend this book to give to your very best friends. It will make them happy. :)
This one has a different style of photos - the black & white with artificial color strategically added. It's enjoyable, as always, and has some really great photos in it.
Short and sweet insight on what having and being a friend truly means with cute animal pictures. Not particularly ground-breaking, but heart-warming all the same!
These little books are hit or miss for me. I know they're supposed to be little coffee table books, but sometimes they're boring or the pictures don't really go with the words. This one was really cute, though, and I think they did a great job of finding pictures that correlate in some way with the "story" the book tells. It's a fun fast read and great for anyone who likes books that are mostly cute photographs.
Love it. I received this book from a friend, and it's one of the best book I've ever read. I laughed, I cried, I thought, I recalled many moments I shared with my friend. Images add additional value (mostly emotionally) to words which you read. Simple words but often you do not need complicated words to describe many feelings. Often one word is much better than a long complex sentence. I've read it partially almost every day. Every time I open it, it influences me in different ways.
Hehe, this little book was a cute early Christmas present from a friend. It is loaded with funny and adorable pictures of all kinds of animal friends, odd and cute. Each picture helps continue the small story told in its captions. I really got a laugh out of this one.
Read this little gem some time back, and as usual, love the animal photos, and the cute little comments that come with each. Well worth a read..a light, relaxing, refreshingly inspirational series of books.
My main attachment to this particular book is sentimental, more than a regard for the quality of the writing. Greive is certainly a master of photograph-selection, and for those with a penchant for cheesy expressiveness (and I am, much of the time), it holds a poetic charm.
"By far the worst thing about friends is having them leave. Whether they move to another city or country, this is the saddest of goodbyes, especially if we know we have seen them for the very last time." - Bradley Trevor Greive
I think I like this book mostly for the emotion it brings...I read this a short time after a good friend passed away and it was somehow comforting to me, not to mention that the pictures always seem to bring a smile to my face.
I loved this book! Made me laugh out loud and wish I had a friend to share it with/give it to! :D therefore, I only gave it four stars... because I have yet to find out who this friend is for me and vice versa! ;)
A good friend gave me this uplifting book. I love the pictures and the sentiments they convey. This is an enormously delightful book and makes a great gift.
I love this book. Simple story about the importance of friends and friendship...accompanied with fantastically adorable, and sometimes just plain silly, photos. My students loved it!
I love critters, so the photos just plain make me laugh, or feel happy cause they're beautiful. I have to reread it though to remember all the many ways we show how much we value true friendships.
