The clock is ticking! June 5. The day another disaster strikes Shido’s high school. Transferring into his class is a new student, Kurumi, who immediately makes the jaw-dropping confession that she’s…a Spirit. With a twisted sense of justice and homicidal tendencies, she seems to buzz with impish glee whenever she destroys a piece of the world and its human populace. As tensions mount, Shido is instructed to do the one thing that will placate her—ridiculously enough, taking Kurumi out on a date and making her fall head over heels for him!

So in this novel we are introduced to a new character, well in reality, we get to know about two new characters, since Mana was only at the epilogue of the previous volume.

So two new female characters. One is the biological sister of Shidou and the other is a spirit, which is for the first time in this series, an evil spirit, who replenishes her spent "spirit energy", by absorbing the life force of normal people.

The main event in this book is revelation of Kururi's true character to Shidou and his decision how to deal with it. The volume ends with a cliffhanger, so be prepare to start reading the next book as soon as possible.

Nevertheless, the time it took us to the "main event" of the book, we were force to read about Shidou's triple date and boring school days. That's why such a low score.

Shido Itsuka's life already was a mess. Now his younger biological sister Mana Takamiya and a new spirit Kurumi Tokisaki arrive. His dating and family life becomes a lot more complicated, especially since Kurumi is unlike any other spirits Shido has met before. Volume 3 is mostly familiar, a bit of cringe with some of the tropes taken too far, and entertaining comedy (those same dating game tropes). Things take a bit more serious tone near the end. Besides the occasional cringe, I do wish there was a name list at the start and I could do without the cliff-hanger ending. Eagerly looking forward to the next volume.

Events were quite confusing but if you perceive things quickly you may be able to define Kurumi's abilities which transcend time. Explained thing thoroughly in an reader-friendly manner, giving readers more time to use their imagination.

I mean really, the last thing you want to read at the end of a book when the pivotal encounter is revealed—to be continued… WTF!?!?! Up until that point, there’s a lot entertaining about Shido and these supernatural hijinks.
