Grey is a talented write no doubt but BABY!!!! These novellas are where she shiiineeeesssss!!!! I’m saaayyyyyying why was this story so good!!!
She’s emotionally impaired after the unexpected death of her best friend. The grief is crippling and Nami doesn’t know how to pull herself from the dark hole that she’s in. She finds comfort there and is ok with drowning in deep sorrow because life simply isn’t worth living without her ride or die by her side.
To pass the time, she works for an app that offers assistance to those in need and when she comes face to face with York who is willing to help her based off shared grief that he’s also experiencing Nami begins to feel more alive than she ever thought possible!
York refused to allow the hand he was dealt to impair him and now that his path has crossed with Nami’s, he finally gets the happiness he’s longs for was well!
Read the book!! Periodt!!!! You will not be disappointed!!! The energy is BIG and exactly what you’d expect from Grey!
Listen I love an original storyline and Grey did that!
Tsunami is emotionally impaired after losing her best friend unexpectedly. Despite the turmoil she is going through she is volunteering to help differently abled people in an app. As fate would have it she meets York, who happens to feel and hear her pain and wants to help. He too has had a recent loss and can relate to her pain.
Something about York, made you feel like BIG should be in front of his name. The BDE was rolling off this man, even though his energy was also quiet and safe. His immediate willingness to care for her and help her find happiness was everything. He seemed to be so in tune with Nami and it helped her being her guard down, even if just a little.
This was so short, but the feelings between them were BIG.
This was a fast paced connection with York and Tsunami thanks to a chance encounter and him wanting to make her feel better while she is grieving the death of her friend. Now some might find the choices that she made questionable in such a short period of time but I just told myself this is a fictional book and it is possible for something like that to happen in real life with some people. I thought once they were in the same room together there was definitely chemistry and I am curious to see where this ends up in the next book. I will say while it is not important to the storyline, I would have liked to know what York did professionally or where he got the money for his house and the things in it.
I’m sorry but Grey Huffington can do no wrong in my eyes. Every word she write imma eat up!!!!
This was soft, subtle and sweet. Two people grieving in different wats meet and make magic. I think York was exactly what Nami needed in this time of grief to push her forward and make her want to keep going. York deserves someone who’s going to cater to him and I think Nami is that. This was short but still gave me all the feels. I’m here for it 1000%
This was actually a beautiful story. It was my first time reading a book with a blind MC. I felt every emotion in this novella. Well written as per usual
This was absolutely stunning. It caught my attention and I had to see how it played out. York is all man even with being visually impaired. He can hold his own that was evident. He recognized that Tsunami needed a friend because he was grieving just like she was.
5 FCKING ⭐️ ”tonight, i wanted to see her. tonight, i needed to see her” 🥹😩😩.
when i say i wish this was 10x longer i mean that!! this book had such a unique yet interesting way of introducing nami & york to each other i was IMMEDIATELY hooked 🔥.
york became one of my favorites in less than 80 pages that should say a lot about what type of man he is, and the type of pressure he appliedddd!!
if i knew grey huffington got down like THIS i would’ve BEENNNN started reading her catalog. i’m about to dive into part 2 right now because i definitely didn’t get enough.
Tsunami(Nami) and York were introduced in this book. Nami just lost her BFF monts ago and was barely making it. While working she received a call from York, who she assisted on a call. He told her to give him a call and that led to them seeing each other and spending a night together. I loved me some York, he knew what he wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it. Nami wasnt sure what she wanted. This was a great introduction to York and Nami and I cant wait to see what's next!!!
I'm attempting to log books I've read since 2022 so apologies if I clog your feed!
Honestly I didn't really like the blind/vi rep in this one but unfortunately can't remember enough of the book to give a proper critique.

So I had to find this book under “as we learn” not as we lay. Another quick read, about strangers basically falling for each other within 24 hours, ignoring the differences. Could I be this intimate with a stranger this fast? Maybe not. But I root for the book babes to get their issue, one date is enough in the urban romance world. Downloading the second to this series right now.
I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble York and Nami will get themselves into, it’s starting off great! I can tell that York is all Alpha and not for the games. Short and sweet and I need more.
This was a short but I’ve always enjoyed Greys shorts. Nami and York story was amazing. I love that through trauma they met and it was love at first meeting. It was definitely the vibes for me. I can’t wait to explore book 2.
First Grey Huffington read and it sure won’t be my last. 5 🌟 easily. From the dedication, this was going to be emotional novella. York is a man of his word and his disability never held him back. They connected like magnets and it was everything and more.
Loved it just as much as the first installment!! Tsunami and York’s story was new and fresh! The perfect little short! This was my first book by Grey and I’m ready to explore more!!
I did think the premise of this book was intriguing. It starts off briefly mentioning the main character Tsnumani struggling to cope with the death of her best friend. From here, I wanted to continue to read on in order to explore Tsunami's grief, how she was coping with it and how she was beginning to overcome it. Although I didn't feel I was able to do so in this novel- however I think I read online that there is a book 2 to this.
Her introduction to York was done in a unique way but I felt as though the quickness in his interest in her felt very unconvincing, especially over an app. Initially, his disability did seem to bring an a different angle to this book (e.g. relying on different senses, e.g. body language, sounds etc) but it did feel to me York was just interested in her sexually and although he "pulled out all the stops", arranging dinner for her, "I want to help you through this grief" and stressed to her that they didn't have to have sex, I think that was his plan all along during that night. His character felt forceful and blunt to me and not really the endearing persona that this novel tried to portray him to be.
Of course both Tsnumani and York are grown characters and naturally they found themselves sexually attracted to each other- but there was more time spent on sex rather than focusing on grief which is what brought them together. But I understand that this is a novella, centered in a day, and ultimately a sexually charged novel so my expectations definitely need to be taken into context.
Interestingly, I did at one point reading the novel think that she was fantasising and this was a way for her to cope emotionally with the death and expected that to be the case when I got to the end of the novel.
I also thought that the writing was a bit overdone- I think there was a lot of focus on telling rather than showing along with words that seemed awkwardly placed in sentences. I also think the sex scenes could have been written a more tastefully- "soiled his boxers" and "he milked me like a cow" were off putting for me.
Overall, the premise of this novella did draw me in but unfortunately it didn't keep me invested.
So, this is my first Grey Huffington book...I have heard a lot about this author and I opted to start with a series I never heard anything about. I should have done more research regarding how big the book was because I bought a physical copy and was very disappointed with the length vs. the price of the book but I won't judge the book by just that. The storyline was interesting and different. I would never have put that together but hey, things happen. I do want to say, I could have used a bit more character development as it pertains to whom the FMC was grieving and what happened (I mean, I am nosey). I can appreciate keeping it cute and brief (but sometimes I want just a small synopsis of what happened; but I will give into account that this may have been a real/personal experience of the author and they wanted to keep that portion private while still paying homage to their friend...I respect it). Anyway, everything happened so quickly, I am no prude so some of it isn't foreign but living in today's world not sure it would happen quite like this, but listen...crazier things have happened. I am sure!
