Rate this book
What does the last T on the Triple T Token stand for? Where did it come from? What did Arcade’s mom do with the token when she had it? And why does Arcade have it now? All the questions about the mysterious and powerful Triple T Token will finally be answered. Arcade and the Dazzling Truth Detector is the fourth and final book in the humorous and imaginative Coin Slot Chronicles series by New York Times bestselling author, former NFL running back, and Dancing with the Stars champion Rashad Jennings.

Arcade and Zoe Livingston have been on a quest for truth ever since the mysterious lady gave Arcade the token, said, “Happy Travels,” then vanished. Now, Arcade has just one wish on his twelfth birthday: to experience the ests of life.

From the highest, lowest, deepest, coldest, and hottest places on Earth; to some of the greatest, most influential moments in history—Arcade will get his wish and much more than he could ever dream as the Triple T Token takes him and Zoe back in time and to the top (and bottom!) of the world. It’s a whirlwind journey of self-discovery in some of the most exciting and unusual places on the planet.

So hang on tight, because these final Arcade adventures are filled with magic elevator rides you’ll never ever forget.

Written and designed for reluctant readers, with shorter chapters and meaningful illustrations throughout the book. Arcade and the Dazzling Truth Detector teaches children ages 8 and up:

How to create goals and the importance of dreaming big
The importance of generosity, compassion, patience, and forgiveness

Oh, this is the LAST book? Oops.

Well, too late, I already started reading. Haha.

On that: Having finished reading, I can't say I would recommend this as your first stop in the series. It's not that it's impenetrable, so much as this feels like a long epilogue to a series that already completed: there's only a hint of a plot in this volume, broken up by a LOT of mini-adventures a la The Magic School Bus and references to things that happened earlier. I can only assume that, though, having not read the other books to vouch for them.

Unsorted comments:
- Why, yes, I picked this book up because the main character is named Arcade, and I just had to see where it was going with that, like with Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians.
- The "present" day is written in past tense, while the time travel sections (to the PAST) are written in present tense... Curious decision.
- I have to roll my eyes at the way historical figures act when they see contemporary children (particularly minorities) witnessing major events like it's a party.
- RIP Elena's Greece books :(
- Why doesn't he wear sports glasses for a game where large balls could slam into his face... (I'd HAVE to imagine his folks could afford that)
- (Yay, adoption!)
- Quote of the century!!
"Bookworms should never have to explain why they are reading a certain book. Read what you're curious about and what brings you joy." - Katrin
I don't know if that's necessarily worth the price of entry, though, at least by itself. The series is no doubt much better and payoff greater when read in chronological order.

Recommended... for fans of the rest of the series. Kind of hard (but not impossible) to pick up at the end like this; I imagine it would be like starting with Bastille vs. the Evil Librarians (although, that would be even harder to pick up first, I think).

It's almost Arcade Livingston's twelfth birthday, and his next adventures with the Triple T Token will take him, his older sister Zoe, and more of their young crew back in time and around the world. And this journey of self-discovery will bring Arcade some major answers about the mysterious token in Arcade and the Dazzling Truth Detector by author Rashad Jennings.

Well! I'd say that this middle grade ChristFic fantasy series has saved the best for last with the fourth and final book in The Coin Slot Chronicles.

Oh, it isn't a technically perfect read, as it has some incorrect punctuation and the wrong verb tenses in the narration here and there. I'm not sure if all of the slang really reflects how kids actually speak nowadays. And it would've been more interesting if, as it is in the characters' trips to countries like Greece and Iceland, their stop to Africa could have been more specific, country wise.

Still, just like in the rest of the Coin Slot books, this novel has a good mix of action and wise food for thought, of laugh-out-loud comedy and touching moments. Seriously, I got teary twice while reading this, and I found the climax and the big finish to be amazing. I literally applauded at the end.

I'll confess it makes me a little sad to have finally finished the series. It would be well worth it to read the books over again and to revisit these great characters sometime. Just wow!

Wow! Great End to a Fabulous Series

I am so sad this series is over, but what an ending! I loved the entire series, from beginning to end. Mr. Jennings did not disappoint with this last book. Finally, all the questions about Arcade's token are answered, and things are settled with the annoying Badger brothers. Is that how they spell their name? I have no idea because I listened to the story; I didn't read it. But I did buy the books for my son, so I guess I could check. 🤔

These books are fantastic for teaching children lessons about truth, kindness, compassion, responsibility, and many other wonderful qualities. If you're a parent looking for a great series of books for your child that teaches them morals while entertaining them with a fascinating story, then look no further.

I loved this series so much that I listened to them on my own then bought the books for my son. And I think we'll be reading them together. Enjoy!

A great way to end the series...Truth. Growth for all the characters and Arcade finally finds the his place with the Token. Having a connection with ones past is so important to their present and future.

There are so many teaching points for young readers. Stepping out on faith, trusting others, standing firm to your beliefs and putting others first just to name a few.
