This series was recommended to me by my sister, who read it in high school. It was kind of like those books that you know are really terrible, but you just can't quit reading it because there's something about it that seems remotely interesting. I believed the overall idea of the series was good with Stacey having these premonition dreams, but the characters were very weird and sometimes lacking development along with the writing seeming as if it came from a bad fanfiction in some places. The word choice was very repetitive, but there were also really good parts to the books, and the mystery and suspense is what had me unable to put the books down, because I just HAD to find out what happened. I just wish in book 4 that it hadn't been so confusing to read. The Point of View kept switching back and forth in between Stacey and "Shell" aka Jacob, but the transitions were always abrupt and confusing, and hard to follow early in the book. Despite everything "wrong" with the series, I'll probably end up rereading it.

This series is basically Gossip Girl with witchcraft and murder. I like Gossip Girl, the TV show, but it’s not something I want to read. Witchcraft and murder I want to read about.

I finished the first and second book because for a long time I only had the second and third book. When I finally found the books I needed to complete the series, it seemed like such a waste not to read them all. I did not finish book three, and I don’t plan to finish the series.

Each book in the series is a cookie cutter of the last. She introduces a couple new characters, but they are the same stories with different symptoms of the same problem: figuring out who is going to kill who and how with witchcraft and home remedies she learned from her grandmother.

Even in one individual book, the character goes through the same thing over and over in different locations and it gets tiring to read.

There’s a pro to the big con. Stolarz writes a mean drum roll (reference I took from How I Met Your Mother’s Victoria) to a kiss: the anticipation, the tension.

My first spooky book, and it did get a little spooky back in the day. It really was a lovely series. Nothing too over the top. No love triangles. Just spooky mysteries riddled with witchcraft and friendship.

‘Blue is for Nightmares’ is in one person perspective about this girl named Stacey (main character) and her friends; Drea, Amber, Pj, Chad, and Donovan. Stacey is a basic teenager, worrying about grades, looks, and boys, but she also practices Wicca. Stacey is having premonitions in her dreams, but they turn into nightmares. Now she’s having them about her best friend, Drea. Stacey dreams that someone is going to kill Drea. So Stacey has to put together all the foreshadowing and figure out who is going to try and kill Drea before it is too late. Stacey performs the Wicca to help her premonitions come clearer so she can get the facts straight and save Drea. But in the process, she might lose others.

I think ‘Blue is for Nightmares’ is a great book. It’s based in a teenage girl’s life and the mood changes very frequently. The tone changes frequently as well. I would recommend this book for women because it’s from a girl’s point of view and they would understand it more. I would best describe this as a horror, mystery novel. This novel is very suspenseful. I loved this novel, it made me want to read it forever. Though, the only part I didn’t like was that it ended. If only it went on forever.

Stacey has been having nightmares. But these aren’t your everyday monster-under-the-bed dreams; these are premonitions. She’s had these before, and the result was the death of a girl named Maura. Now, she’s trying everything she can because the next victim could be her best friend Drea.

What is very helpful is that Stacey is a witch. She performs a wide variety of spells in order to make her nightmares clearer and to find out who is after Drea. She, Drea, and their friend Amber form a pact to make sure they’re safe. But nothing seems to be safe anymore.

It’s very hard to guess who’s after Drea. Stacey has many suspicions, but they keep on shifting as she learns new information. What’s most frustrating to Stacey, though, is that she’s dreamt all of it. She just can’t remember.

I really enjoyed reading this novel. The magic involved was unique in that it wasn’t just “Harry Potter” magic. Stacey isn’t a witch like Hermione; she performs spells using candles, herbs, and oils, not magic wands. I found this refreshing and unique. I also enjoyed the suspense throughout the entire novel. The twists and turns always kept me guessing. I recommend this to all magic book lovers, because I loved it myself.

The Blue Is For Nightmares Series is one of my favorite series, because it is very exciting and I always wonder what will happen next. It is also very suspensful, which I love, especially if you read this book at night! If you read this book, you will become addicted to finding out what will happen next! The events that happen are always shocking and unpredictable, so as I said, you are always excited to find out what will happen next. I love all the characters, and I feel like I would be good friends with them if they were real. Some of the characters are very funny and sarcastic, and others are interesting in general, lovable, and easy to relate to. This book is extremely fascinating, and it made me very interested in learning more about Wicca (since the protagonist of this book, Stacey, practices Wicca). I learned a lot about Wicca from this series. This entire series is super exciting, suspensful, interesting, fascinating, captivating, addictive, romantic, and AMAZING! I highly recommend this book, and the entire series.

The main character Stacey recently attended a boarding school with her best friend Drea as a roommate. Stacey's been having random nightmares that make her wet her bed often. The nightmares caused Stacey to think that Drea might be in danger. And Stacey's been trying to think of ways to protect her when one day in the woods, Drea was kidnapped by a mysterious person.

Blue is for nightmare is a book full of magic mixed in with an interesting mystery. Reading this can really give you the goosebumps. It can be horifying at some parts of the book. The author writes in a form that makes you try to find out who the suspect is and makes you aim at the wrong character as the suspect. And eventually, you would be surprised to find out who it is at the end of the book.

I remember reading White is for Magic back in college and I remember liking it. So I decided to get the box set and I gotta say, it wasn't all I hoped it would be. Granted I devoured some of the books in one sitting, the others kind of dragged a bit for my taste.

I think the most I took out of the books was the need to have a lavender satchel in my pillowcase when I slept and a better understanding of Wicca. Apart from that, the characters weren't very relatable. Still, it's a pretty entertaining read if you're bored.

I absolutely love this book series, Laurie Faria Stolarz has to be one of my favorite authors. I started this collection back in highschool and it has remained one of my top favorites ever since. The plot, characters and series of events is so intoxicating, I honestly can never put these books down. I remember having the hardest time going to bed at night because I wanted to know what would happen next. The suspense is nerve racking (in a good way) and I constantly recommend these books to friends.

This is a young adult fantasy collection that I read during my daughter's Middle School years. It is very well written and entertaining. I mostly enjoyed the first three books Blue is For Nightmares, White is for Magic and Silver is for Secrets. Red is for Remembrance was perhaps not as good as the prior trilogy but it tied the ending well. Overall it is a smart series that goes beyond the romantic and fantastic worlds of young people into a more complex character who is discovering her identity and accepting her nature and present reality.

AHHH! I LOVE this series! I actually found "Blue" while looking for a book to read for a homework project back in 10th grade! I've bought all 4 books and re-read the first 2 this past Christmas break. I stayed up nearly the whole night reading and finished in about a day, I couldn't put it down until my eyes just wouldn't hold out anymore. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good mystery or young adult books.

This series was AMAZING! I laughed, cried, and panicked as Stacey, Drea, Amber, Chad, P.J., and Jacob went through all of these! I would recommend them though, to older aged readers- I'd say 13-16 maybe..... some language and themes aren't always appropriate, but what can you expect from a high school/collage themed book?

This series is a great read. It's a cute story and would recommend it to those who enjoy a fun cute interesting and mysterious book. There were parts in it where I was on edge when I was reading it, especially in the end, and it always kept you guessing. There were parts that were scary too, and I was like "OMGGGG WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN?!?! AGH" and it's a great mystery story.

This series overall is good! Stacey is a witch that uses her spells in order to see how to save the ones she loves. She dives deep into their dreams to reveal hints about the danger. Each color in the books resembles something very important and with her friends help they are able to save many people. There is love in this book and friendships and that last forever.

Read all four of these novels over a span of a few years, somewhere in between junior high and the beginning half of high school. They were recommended to me by an old friend who knew I loved spooky stories, and while I didn't find them terribly memorable, I'll admit that they're fun for young-adult readers, especially those who are into romantic teen witch murder mysteries.

A quick read, reminiscent of Christopher Pike, but updated to present-day. I flew through this well-told story, eager to solve the riddle(s) and understand the meaning(s). Enough creepiness to keep you awake until the end; but, not so much that you can't sleep when it's over.

what i learned from this book so far is that you should find close friends who you can tell your darkest secrets to and let them know if you know that somthing bad is going to happen to them before it happens never hide things that you know are going to hurt others or yourself...

Bought this whole series (but there is a fifth out I haven't read yet) and loved them. Kind of teen age books so the romance parts are a little juvenile...which is ok with me. I liked the "magic" parts because it's not too far fetched. Like light fantasy.

One of my first YA supernatural romance series that had me hooked from the get-go. Every time I just look at Red is for Remembrance (last novel) I feel weightless. If you love psychics, murder mysteries, and the Touch novels. Please sink into this.
