Glam Van mobile beauty salon owner Molly Casey-Locks has a lot on her mind. A parking lot, to be exact.

Thanks to greedy real estate developer Veronica Corsello, Molly and her clan of trucky-preneurs are facing eviction from the corner lot in downtown San Cosmas, California, where they have parked and served the community for three glorious years. Molly’s not moving without a fight, and if one more person reminds her that her business should be “mobile,” she is going to give them a really bad haircut.

But when Corsello turns up dead behind Glam Van, and Molly’s millennial niece, Mia, is the prime suspect, aunt and niece set out to find the real killer. Between cuts and colors, the pair soon discovers that picturesque San Cosmas has secrets of its own. Now they must get to the root of the lies before Detective Liam Moat—that Boy Scout with biceps—makes Mia his most wanted for all the wrong reasons.

Sophie 2 lives on the West Coast, where she walks among the trees and grows vegetables in her garden.

The Sophies are natural-born brunettes but won’t say how much is now gray. Both are huge fans of bees.

Fresh and fun like the latest hairstyle!
Sophie Sharp brings a clever new hook to the world of cozy mysteries—a mobile hair salon, The Glam Van. This fun and well-paced novel introduces us to Molly and her niece Mia, a pair of wonderfully adventurous souls who step into a murder investigation taking risks with their relationships, their lives and their livelihoods. The intrigue and twists will keep you turning the pages, and Sophie Sharp’s humor will have you chuckling along the way. Like all the best cozies, Curl up and Die leaves me excited to see what trouble Molly and Mia will stumble into next—and hoping it involves more of Detective Dreamboat!

Ever have that fantasy in which you catch the killer and solve the big murder mystery? This light and fun read may be the closest I get, as I related to Molly and her niece, Mia—regular gals and amateur sleuths—who bumbled their way through the clues in this delightful first novel in the “Glam Van Mystery” series. I enjoyed getting to know all the quirky characters (and their hairstyles) in their charming small town, and I laughed out loud at some of the clever hair-related asides, such as “…the situation was getting messier than a home perm and color kit.” Ha!

I’m excited to follow along as Molly and Mia develop their detecting skills in the next installment. And while I suspect most readers will look forward to getting to know “Detective Dreamboat” a bit better, I’m kinda crushing on Uncle Doug, Molly’s husband, who has a gift for baking sweet treats. Yum!
