A very short read ( most of the book's pages are regional lists of birds, not the how-to). What is there for the wannabe birder is to the point and actionable--perfect for me, who is just starting out. Helpful how to!

Short & sweet. I'm glad I came across it early in trying birding as a hobby. It's a great compliment & a much shorter read than Peterson's Birding By Impression. It is essentially advocating the same method but a couple decades before Peterson's BBI came out.
