After saying goodbye to his life on earth, he never expected to find a brand new world still awaiting for him.
One where immortals flew through the clouds and ancient evils hid below the surface.
One where fables, myths and legends filled every corner.
One where he could finally start anew.
Now, however, John is about to learn a valuable lesson, for any place humanity rules will always be the same - a domain where sin and ambition can only be tamed by power.
Will he have the strength to walk this road on his own or will he be unable to heal the old wounds hidden deep within his heart?
Find out by reading The Idle System
This Book contains a story of self-discovery, ambition and revenge. Inspired by classical LitRPG and Xianxia, it's a new take on the genres. Containing romance without harem elements,The Idle System isn't a novel for the weak of heart, but one for those enamored with planetary-levels of destruction. If the aforementioned tropes are to your taste, don't hesitate to buy this bundle.
This volume contains the first four novels in The Idle System series: The New Journey, The Rogues, The Birth and The Sins, all of which are available separately.
I absolutely loved these books. The first book took a little while to get into, as there was a lot of backstory and mechanics explanation, but once it got rolling? Hoo boy. If you enjoy a good OP MC you’ll absolutely love this, but with how the game mechanics work it doesn’t feel unbelievable. Especially if you’re a sucker for idle games like I am.
A very well written and thought out book with lots of dips character-building and much more and it wasn't just a single book it was all for so I'm hoping there's more in the near future but at present I definitely enjoyed the entire four book series and waiting for more was definitely a page-turner
This series felt like it was written for tweens/teens if that was the authors intent then I think they did just fine. There were too many times through out the books where the John needed something to work perfectly or needed some type of skill and you know what it just happened. John is very goal driven but he starts off with a lot of advantages and it feels like every single chapter he just gains more. Even his relationships with other characters is barely hindered by any of his actions, even if it really should bother them. While there.are many fights which are described admirably there is a real lack of strife and hardship in all of these books.
Love the idea and think the characters are great. The overall story feels rushed (but it kind of has to else this would be a 50 book series due to the nature of the system lol).
Aside from a few grammar choices (things hitting the floor when it's outside, using BANG! For every big hit, etc) I really enjoy the series and look forward to finishing it!
The system it uses is unique and I always look forward to seeing what's next!
Overall this is a decent read, but sometimes the complex details of the leveling just become way too much detail. A very significant part of this book is spent on that aspect and it really makes the pacing too slow and, often, tedious.
This could use a bit more professional editing as well due to the number of incorrect word usage. One of the most consistently incorrect is the past tense of lay - as in, to lay down to sleep. The word "lied" is incorrect.
But there were many, many enjoyable parts so it was worth the read. I am definitely considering purchasing other books in this series.
Didn't finish I got through the first book and part of the second. In the afterword of the first book, he states that he had the main character concentrate on advancement to the exclusion of all else. This makes for a very boring book. The second book seemed like more of the same, so I quit at that point. I enjoyed the fact that it had a different magic system, although the MC was way overpowered.
Excellent series read this whole set in 2 days. I don't understand why anyone would think the main character is over powered for a Slider. He is smart and resourceful as is his partner.
