Poorly Edited and Too Much Missing

I have read about book summaries of other people’s books that some people publish on booksellers. I hadn't read any, so I was curious what they would be like. Unfortunately, I don't think this is the best example of what a book summary is or should be. I was first put off by the table of contents. Instead of listing the chapter titles, each chapter and part listed shows the book name and subtitle. Yes, I got to see that over and over again, as these were also used as the chapter titles within the summary itself. So, do we actually see anywhere what the chapter and part sections are named? Yes, the first word or phrase of those sections and chapters is the title, separated from the rest of their first sentence by a comma. That was a little tedious.

I found this summary itself to be poorly written with some strange phrasing that lengthened the word count but added little to the summary and sometimes made following the flow of ideas somewhat tortured. There were definitely issues with grammar, punctuation, and usage, including not having both required commas around an interrupter plus other random comma issues. Clearly, too, the science in the original book is very complex, so it doesn't summarize well. Important details are necessarily left out, making it sometimes hard to follow.

I also found it odd—although perhaps on reflection not as much as I would think—that the authors seem to be using this as a marketing ploy. In the front of the book, they offer a free download not related to the book (on mindset) that is clearly meant to gather email addresses. For what purpose? I have no clue—why would a book summarizer need your email address—but my guess is nothing good. And, yes, it is one of those books that asks for a review in the middle of the book; I hate that.

In short, you will most likely be disappointed by the summary and should just probably check out the actual book.

I received a free copy of this summary, but that did not affect my review.

the author does a good job of summarizing the original book. Great theories and great info about the aging and why we don't have to age.

WOW!! If Interested in this Subject-- a "Must" Buy

As other reviewers have written, the author does a good job summarizing the original book in a very readable and understandable way. I am very pleased.

Very In- Depth!

This book is way more than a summary. It is in-depth and provide detail that I do not normally see in summary books.

Very well done!
