New Patterns of Management

The Academy of Management honored New Patterns of Management as one of the five outstanding books on management for 1961-1962. These awards were sponsored under a grant by the McKinsey Foundation for Management Research. The winners were selected from over 350 business books. This book was recognized as advancing the actual practice of management in industry, commerce, and other institutions, and for facilitating such practice to meet constantly higher professional standards. New Patterns of Management was also named the winner of the fourth annual Publications Award of the Organization Development Council as the 'best work published during 1961 on the subject of organization,' and the James A. Hamilton Hospital Administrators Book Award for the 'outstanding on administration published in 1961.'
