DOUBLE JEOPARDY IN CLANTICK

Doctor Evans has been kidnapped by a gang of owlhoots by the name of the Vermilion Gang. Arthur Vermilion was shoot during a bank robbery and his brother Jimmy he leader was making sure his brother was healing. Sheriff Ben Stillman was informed by Crystal and her husband Toby, that they saw Doc Evans riding between two men and they were stretches out heading toward an abandoned ranch.
Jacob Henry Battle a paid regulator for the Cattle Association has arrived in Clantick, Montana for what reason? Jacob Henry Battle was sentenced to thirty years in Deer Lodge, state prison back he was nothing but a killer who needed to be put down. Anyway he's out on parole, but the real reason per the Warden, was Battle was dying from "consumption," which Warden felt there wasn't any need keeping him jailed it would benefit the prison and the state would save money. .So they kicked him loose. This man murdered the other two marshals who were with SherIff Stillman when he was a U.S.Marshal they captured Battle.
Since Jacob Henry Battle was released it was all about REVENGE for the time he spent in that "Hell
Hole," where he suffered and got sick because the Warden didn't always provide heat for the prisoners. We all know that it gets mighty mighty cold in those states bordering Canada, surprisingly they didn't get frostbite.
Sheriff Ben Stillman is suffering from the bullet thats lodged in his back close to his spine. It's causing him all kinds of neurological problems. It's affecting his left side, he feels a paralysis a tightening sensation, he actually loses the use of arms and his knees buckle on him. You'll know this is a serious problem, especially in the kind of work Sheriff Ben Stillman is in.
Well, this Jacob Henry Battle has handcuffed Sheriff Ben to a wood stove and told Ben what he was going to do to his wife and son Ben Junior. Ben could hardly walk but he made it back, almost blowed the lungs of the horse he was riding back to Clantick, but he made it. Jacob Henry Battle died with a surprised look, as Fay held her son, and her pistol pointed at Jacob Henry Battle..his coughing days are over..

I have been fortunate enough to enjoy most of the Ben Stillman stories but this one is definitely an eye opener with no holds barred. Ben is my mind of guy, who believes in justice over law enforcement. A man of few worldwide find himself in a pickle and needed the assistance of an unknown friend to over come the worst predicament of his career!

Definitely another five star masterpiece by Mr. Brandvold, who never ceAses to amaze me with his uncanny descriptiveness of each and every endeavors his character selections. These outstanding storylines successfully portrays compassion and camaraderie to the nth degree. If you love a little suspenseful episodes, the get a big glass full of your favorite beverage, lean back in your favorite recliner and let the trip of your lifetime.
Too, there is a little romancing, involving the good Doctor and his harem, that certainly breaks the suspenseful episodes of Ben and crew. Definitely recommend this compassionate storytelling masterpiece to all readers, regardless of your normal genre, as on will enjoy following Ben and his colleagues throughout their many escapades of taming the owlhoots of Clantick! Anyway, it definitely behooves you to enjoy another outstanding episode of Ben and crew!😁

A PB. Montana Western Action Adventure (OMITB) (ASBSW - 11)

PB. has penned a Montana western action adventure titled, "Once More Into The Breech) which begins with the young town free wheeling bachelor having to find that he has gotten the Judge's daughter pregnant. This causes an uproar and Ben Stillman arrest him to keep him safe, but the Judge wants to hang him. While this is going on the good Doctor's wedding has been planned and ready to go. A gang of outlaws robs the bank during the wedding which adds to the towns uproar. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

I was sure we were going to lose a favorite character in this novel. Lots of unanswered questions at the end of this book. I certainly didn't guess the storyline.

Good but not as good as the previous Stillman books

Maybe its just me, but this book left way too many lose ends. I realize that it's a set up for more sequels, but it leave too many situations hanging & unanswered! I won't go into detail so I don't ruin it for those who have not read it yet but it's a little disappointing
