I was thinking to myself, I no longer want to start any new series. Just finish what I have already begun, plenty of novels (and manga). Annnd then I decide well, I just want to read one more chapter of Tower of God after already reading a few a couple of days ago and thinking “meh”.
Well, it was a bad decision. I couldn’t stop reading.
One would think with the anime airing now, I’d be more reasonable and watch the anime instead. Well, I just finished watching two episodes... after reading 3 volumes of the manga... crazy, right?
I noticed however that they aren’t exactly the same. Lathel is called “Rachel”, I have no idea why. Is it a translation mistake? But why would a world full of strange names have a familiar one? Anywho, I’m probably being too skeptical because I watched animated episodes of volumes I just read and of course, I would notice the difference whereas if I watched the anime after a while I wouldn’t have had.
I can understand why it became so popular and I believe it deserves the hype!

It's the best thing I've ever read. The complex plot and characters makes this story even more interesting. This manhwa is full of different looking players (regulars) and each floor is unique. There are human, reptiles, monsters, humanoids, etc.
The story starts with Baam entering the tower. Tower is the world itself to its inhabitants, meaning that people in there doesn't know about surounding world. The tower is extremely huge. You can get to the next floor just after you finish some kind of test(fight with a beast or other imposible mission). So this is similar to a rpg game. It's difficult to survive in the Tower but everyone wants to reach the top because there every dream can come true. Regulars must fight between themself, then in few minutes become friends. They fight, have fun, train and always must be prepared for the new chalenge, because test managers don't give boring and simple tests, and sometimes even have ulterior motives. Life in the tower is harsh but very interesting to the readers.
Basically, this story revolves around Baam, but you might end up knowing more about his friends or enemies than him. Characters aren't very simple. The author creates quite around bunch. We learn about their motives, feelings. I like that characters here aren't just good or bad. For example, Baam is such a good kid, but on the second floor he was prepared to kill without hesitation just to advance to the next test. Of course, someone might be more evil than good, but we get to see something different in them too. While reading part 1, I was really interested in everyones motives (to climb the tower).
The end of part 1 has such a good clifhanger. My rection was: No ...WTF?.. NO...NO...no?.. right?..no... The story would lack something without such moments. The second part start was a bit dull for me. I've gave it another chance. And it gets better. After the sudden appearance of Urek Mazino I fell in love for good. Now I'm so hooked up... It's my personal drug.

PT Uma série verdadeiramente intrigante.
O Bam tem de subir a Torre de Deus para encontrar a Rachel. Cada nível da Torre apresenta um novo desafio, que o põe à prova tanto física como emocionalmente.
Pelo caminho, cruza-se com outros que têm o mesmo objetivo. Alguns tornam-se aliados, outros acabam por ser rivais. É um pouco como um Battle Royale vertical, onde a sobrevivência e a ambição andam de mãos dadas.
O que torna esta história tão viciante é o constante sentido de mistério. Apetece sempre virar a página seguinte para descobrir o que está para vir. A verdadeira natureza da Torre — e o que espera no topo — continua envolta em mistério.
Estou genuinamente curioso para ver onde esta jornada nos leva.

Not gonna lie, the anime intrigued me enough to try and give this webtoon original a try and I gotta say so far it’s been a great decision. I can tell animation and story wise at least in the first season they’ve kept more or less close to the story pages I’ve been reading, but I gotta give it to the artist because the still drawn pictures are done so well, I genuinely almost feel it’s intended emotion on the page as well. I’m excited to read more and see where this story takes me especially once I get past what the mangas gone through so far

در فرصتی مناسب نقد جامع تری از برج خدا مینویسم اما
...
چه خواسته ای دارید ؟ ثروت؟ قدرت؟ افتخار؟ انتقام؟ یا چیزی فراتر از همه ی این ها؟ در آخرین طبقه ی برج هر آنچه را بطلبید، در اختیار خواهید داشت.
بام برای یافتن دوست خود "راشل" به برج آمده است. اما برج نشینان از او چه خواهند خواست؟ حقیقت برج چیست؟
این مانهوا به راحتی تمام معیار هایِ متداول در سایر کمیک هایِ شرقی را به چالش می کشه و همه ی آنها را در حد کمال خود، در قالب یک دیالکتیک درست و با انسجامی مثال زدنی در کنار هم قرار می ده.
اگر قرار باشه صحبت در موردِ برج خدا را شروع کنم، قطعا صحبت خودم را با این جمله شروع می کنم، جمله ای که تجلی اش را می شه در لحظه لحظه ی این دنیا دید. در جایی از داستان رلو، کسی که آزمون سد شینسو را از قانون گذار ها می گرفت، به بام می گه:
فکر نمی کنی که خدا خیلی بی رحمه؟ وقتی که دنیا را برایِ اولین بار بهمون نشون می ده، این حس را برامون به وجود می یاره که توی این دنیای بزرگ تونستیم همه چیز داشته باشیم، اما با یه نمایش ناگهانی بهت می گه که : « این حد توئه»
رلو-لو
واقعا بعضی وقت ها کلمات نمی تونن حق یه مطلبی را بیان کنند، اینم از همون موارده. در توضیح این که چقدر این حرف درسته و در چه جای درستی بیان شده، واقعا چیزی نمی شه گفت.
واژه به واژه این حرف را می شه در سرگذشت میا دید. کسی که به خاطر مشکلاتی که داره، دست به هر کاری می زنه .وقتی که فکر می کنه همه چی داره به خوبی تموم می شه، ناگهان دنیا رویِ واقعی خودش را به دنیای کودکانه اش نشون می ده و در یک آن زندگی براش تموم می شه و این همون جایی هست که خدایِ دنیای برج خدا به نیا می گه : « این حد توئه».
و وقتی که بیشتر به این اتفاق نگاه می کنیم، شاید به خودمون بگیم که : « نیا های دنیایِ ما هم کم نیستن»
» ما آدمای معمولی هستیم که در شرایط غیر معمول قرار گرفتیم».
انسان موجود پیچیده ای است. تا وقتی شرایط بر وفق مراد ما آدما باشه، همه مون خوبیم. ولی بعضی وقت ها که در موقعیت هایِ مختلف قرار می گیریم، احساساتمون به فراخور موقعیتی که در آن هستیم، بر انگیخته می شن. عصیان، عشق، ناراحتی، شوق و...، در حقیقت یکی از مهم ترین شیوه های شخصیت پردازی، قرار دادن انسان در شرایط مختلفه که باعث می شه زوایای شخصیتی شون به بهترین شکل به مخاطب القا بشه.
برج خدا کلکسیونی بی نظیر از احساسات انسان هاست. اگه اشتباه نکنم در مسابقه قایم باشک، آندروسی به بام می گه : « یه روزی شاید مجبور بشی برایِ محافظت از دوستات به بقیه صدمه بزنی» ، و ما می بینیم بامی که حتی حاضر نبود به دشمنش صدمه ای بزنه، برای محافظت از همین دوستانش چطور به دیگران صدمه می زنه( ابتدای آزمون طبقه بیستم)
یکی دیگه از مواردی که شاید بد نباشه به صورت گذرا بهش اشاره ای بکنم، باور پذیر بودن شخصیت هاش.
شخصیت ها به شدت باور پذیرن، بذارید این طور بگم که همگی آنها از جنس انسان اند. من کمتر مانگایِ شونن ای را دیدم که چنین شرایطی داشته باشه، شاید فقط «حمله تایتان» را در این زمینه بتوان مثال زد.
من مانگای وان پیس رو بارها خوندم ، لوفی شخصیت بسیار دوست داشتنیه، اما علی رغم دوست داشتنی بودنش، باور پذیر نیست. ما نمونه ی مشابه لوفی را نمی توانیم و نخواهیم توانست در دنیایِ انسان ها پیدا کنیم. جنسش، از جنس آدم های واقعی نیست.
اما در برج خدا آدما باور پذیرن. هیچ کدوم بی عیب و نقص نیستن. کون اگرو اگنیس، یک نابغه است، اما این نبوغ از حد خودش نمی گذره، او هم در زندگیش با شکست هایِ اساسی رو به رو می شه و رو دست می خوره.
یه نکته حاشیه ای هم درباره ی کون بگم. توضیح این که کون چقدر شخصیت درست و فوق العاده ای است، در یکی دو خط نمی گنجه، برای همین هم فعلا به بیان همین تک نکته اکتفا می کنم.
چشم هایِ کون در دنیایِ مانگا و مانهوا زیباست، اما بی بدیل نیست. نماهای نزدیکی که سیو از چشم هایِ شاهین وارد کون نشون می ده، کاملا تداعی گر نگاه هایِ خاص گیریفیس است. چشم شاهینی که ماورای این دنیا را نشانه می ره. به آینده نگاه می کنه، به آینده ای که پر از آرزوهایِ بزرگ است.
برج خدا مانهوایی از "سیو" که هفتگی به صورت وب تون منتشر میشه.

I have to say , this manhwa reminds me of Hunter x hunter .... but the more it goes the more i think it could become even better... in fact it is becoming my favorite title to read , and believe me , i got almost 20years of experience…. yea i m a geek ;)
when i started it i was very suspicious about it... some friend told me : its amazing , you should read it !
so i was ok , i ll give it a try..the art the feel was a litte weird to my taste , its pure its very clean ... but i kept going the few first chapters, especially since eventhough strange i thought it was actually interesting and really nice, blur effect , vibrante colorful art with few lines make the art outstanding. It accentuate the very visual experience this manhwa is ...
But where this manhwa becomes a masterpiece is the deepness , smartness and great epic shounen like plot.
You would think : some people climbing a tower ! it s probably not more than that ... cant be too complexe....
Well STOP right there ! this manhwa actually make you want to stay on WIKItowerofgod , just to actually get in the bottom of things ! Slave in utero ( the author) implemented a very complexe system in the tower , with many legends , twists and people that actually play part in the story making it one of the most joyful and interesting story ive read in a long time ... all that with always the looming tower pressuring all the characters to grow and become stronger ... Yes the heroes become More "powerful" ( its kinda of a shounen) but in a smart way also , a lot of how they grow is like one piece or hxh , they are able to be better in their respective roles , in the way they fight , they use their abilities and how they use shinsoo ...
in short its beautiful , its badass , its packed of SMART action and power , its one of the best plot and interesting world ive seen to date ... ( nothing like all those School life manga) , it make sense , its full of very interesting characters and this manhwa holds a fare share of WTF twist , that make the story even more interesting ... if you are looking for a title to read , u wont be disapointed.. that is only if you are able to pass the test and climb the ladder .... we might meet at the top of the tower ;)

so i was ok , i ll give it a try..the art the feel was a litte weird to my taste , its pure its very clean ... but i kept going the few first chapters, especially since eventhough strange i thought it was actually interesting and really nice, blur effect , vibrante colorful art with few lines make the art outstanding. It accentuate the very visual experience this manhwa is ...
But where this manhwa becomes a masterpiece is the deepness , smartness and great epic shounen like plot.
You would think : some people climbing a tower ! it s probably not more than that ... cant be too complexe....
Well STOP right there ! this manhwa actually make you want to stay on WIKItowerofgod , just to actually get in the bottom of things ! Slave in utero ( the author) implemented a very complexe system in the tower , with many legends , twists and people that actually play part in the story making it one of the most joyful and interesting story ive read in a long time ... all that with always the looming tower pressuring all the characters to grow and become stronger ... Yes the heroes become More "powerful" ( its kinda of a shounen) but in a smart way also , a lot of how they grow is like one piece or hxh , they are able to be better in their respective roles , in the way they fight , they use their abilities and how they use shinsoo ...
in short its beautiful , its badass , its packed of SMART action and power , its one of the best plot and interesting world ive seen to date ... ( nothing like all those School life manga) , it make sense , its full of very interesting characters and this manhwa holds a fare share of WTF twist , that make the story even more interesting ... if you are looking for a title to read , u wont be disapointed.. that is only if you are able to pass the test and climb the ladder .... we might meet at the top of the tower ;)

Objetivamente hablando, este primer volumen no es de 5 estrellas, la historia es muy introductoria y no deja de mejorar conforme avanza, pero le tengo mucho cariño a Tower of God así que, con la carga sentimental que tengo, le pongo 5 estrellas.
En este primer tomo nos encontramos a Bam, quien acaba de entrar a la torre en búsqueda de su amiga Rachel.
No sabemos con exactitud qué es la torre, dónde estaba Bam antes de la torre ni cómo se maneja este mundo, ya que aquí vamos descubriendo cómo funcionan las cosas conforme avanza la historia.
Lo que sí sabemos es que para encontrar a Rachel, tiene que subir la torre, y para subirla debe pasar una prueba en cada piso de la torre.
En su segunda prueba, conoce a Khun Agüero Agnis y a Rak, con quienes tendrá que hacer equipo si quiere seguir subiendo en la torre.

No hare una reseña tan extensa hablando sobre el primer tomo.
Lo compre ayer y esuve debatiendome entre este y Tokyo Revengers hasta que una amiga me dijo que mejor este.
En esta serie, conocemos a Bam. Que es un chico que ingresa a la torre intentando buscar a su mejor amiga y tiene que pasar una prueba para poder seguir subiendo, aunque esa prueba esta amañada y con ayuda de dos personas (no recuerdo sus nombres) pasa la prueba.
En la segunda prueba, conoce a Khun, el que creo sera su mejor amigo y tienen que formar equipo para pasar la siguiente prueba.
Sinceramente, habia visto mucho este webtoon en la app pero nunca lo habia empezado, ya sea porque no me llamaba la atencion u porque tenia otros empezados.
Al principio, no entendi pero conforme vas avanzando, vas entendiendo algunas cosas y otras que te generan aun mas dudas, le dare 4 estrellas y a esperar a que Panini traiga el 2do tomo.

3.5 rounded up, mostly for interesting use of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland themes. Bam is, essentially, a reverse Alice, chasing her up a tower rather than down a hole, and the nonsensical world of the eponymous Tower is every bit as strange as Wonderland. While we're not sure what Bam's status as an Irregular will truly mean going forward (right now he's mostly coasting on it), the references to Alice, the White Rabbit, the March Hare, and the Red Queen are all fascinatingly sprinkled throughout the story, and everyone does seem truly mad. Can Bam go about among mad people? He may not have a choice if he ever wants to see Rachel again, but going through this Wonderland is going to take more than an ability to play croquet if he's going to survive.

It was the best manga I've ever read .it was a little boring at first but in the end it turned upside down and turned to a real fun and entertaining manga so i really loved it and want to start the second volume right now. 😁

Finally got to read Tower of God, another webtoon that recently got published. This is about a tower that people are trying to conquer. On every floor, they have to pass a test in order to move on. Our main character is trying to find someone that entered the tower. It’s a very fast paced story and I got through this first volume quickly.
I’m going to give it four stars. I like the story and the characters, but I’m finding it a little hard to follow. The dialogue is sometimes in weird places and it gets a little confusing. The art is really good, which is really what makes or breaks a graphic novel. I will most likely continue. I love graphic novel series and I want to read more of them.

Now this was a surprise. I don't usually read webcomics, and I don't think I had read a Korean webtoon ever, but I heard about Tower of God from a friend and its premise seemed interesting enough. It was that - and much more. A great story, with great characters, very intelligently written. I am off to binge read the second season now. Can't imagine I'll take long to catch up!

At the beginning, nothing is clear. why they taking the test where all this characters came from. but if you manage to read till the end. you will see things differently and enjoy it even more. i really like BAM. and khun.

I love this series so much! And im glad there will be an english physical release because this was such a well written story with many layers to it. I'm a fan of the world building with the Tower as a setting and you need to beat each levels to go up the tower and its so clever! Love all the characters in here especially Bam, Khun and Rak, my favourite trio and I love em so much. The series focused on friendship too and also being with people you trust is a step for Bam and Im happy for him. Highly recommended if you love fantasy, games and action, this is one of the best webtoon out there. The anime was great too!

A classic eastern action comic. The McGuffin is somewhat obscure, but in the end it's a level upon level of power-ups for a growing set of characters.
It is fun and addictive, but I don't think I'll remember much of it in the future. Reminds me of Fairy Tail, Vol. 1 and Naruto, Vol. 01: Uzumaki Naruto and The Hunger Games but with more swearing.

A minha estreia a ler manwha (também conhecido por manga coreana) e tenho a dizer que apesar de ser diferente das mangas a que estou habituada a ler (quer pelo modo de ler, quer pela história), a verdade é que gostei muito.
A história do Bam tem bastante potencial e fiquei super intrigada com os testes pelos quais irá passar na Torre 👀 sinto que é uma história que esconde muitos segredos e adoro isso. É algo dark e intensa e repleta de ação.
Como é início e ainda não tive uma "boa" apresentação e contextualização do mundo, não consigo dar uma maior cotação à história...mas acredito que isto poderá ficar espectacular e que poderá eventualmente arrebatar o meu coração. Estou ansiosa pelos próximos volumes.

For one, I would opt anything that Webtoon offers BLINDLY. I was so sure I would love this series.
I love the artwork and the art sequence. However, for such a story I would like to have more action oriented scenes more than more dialogue scenes. I feel like I am asking for too much. So I will keep quiet.
Make me love this series more with the upcoming volumes.
