Rate this book
This is the era of Jungle-Raaj in Bihar - the dark age of increasing anarchy and lawlessness in the state.
Control over law and order has long since passed from the hands of the administration to caste-based gangs and organized crime syndicates enjoying political patronage. Kidnapping has become one of the flourishing businesses of the state, while every other industry has dwindled down and the development plank has gone on a pause mode, on account of Rangdari, which is yet another booming business apart from contract killing, smuggling, illegal tree cutting, and vehicle snatching. Migration to other states is at peak: not only of big businessmen, but also of lowly laborers. And those who can’t leave the state are either sucked into the crime world or are forced to live under fear. Albeit the local newspapers everyday sketch the sordid saga of the state, the execrable condition is not likely to improve by any means in the near future.

Digambar Babu, a middle-aged man of a small town Motihari (the place of Mahatma Gandhi's Champaran Satyagrah), is dejected and dismayed for his family falling apart, and so sets himself on a mission to make amends for the mistakes he has done in the past. Shakuntala Devi, his wife, infuriated at herself for having devoted her whole life selflessly and arduously for her ungrateful family, wants to make up for the injustice she has done to herself, by living the rest of her life selfishly. Sarvesh, their asthmatic son, whose first marriage perished about a decade ago, is still struggling with both his career and his married life, and Nisha, their daughter, is married to someone whom she thinks she will never be able to love. The biggest threat to the already troubled family is Nisha’s ex-lover Kanhaiya Tiwari, who is the youngest corporator of the town, and has sworn to ruin the family.
Shyam, Nisha’s husband, who is ‘the absorber of the emotions’, in keeping with his fluidity, writhes in pain but transforms time and again, in order to win his wife’s heart, while Savita, Sarvesh’s current wife, colludes with Kanhaiya Tiwari in his evil intent, in order to have all the strings of the family in her hands. Benighted in Sodom, they weave their web of Karma, and fabricate their fates, but the biggest sufferer in the ruthless game of dominance and survival are the innocent children of the family.

The story tries to draw parallels between Digambar Babu’s disarrayed family and the disordered town.

The novel is inspired from the real events happened in the town during 90’s era of jungle-raaj.

The book is based upon the real-life incident may thing could you Goosebumps, this book is special because when I read this book you will felt like yes God has given me less problem than other as well thanks for having so good family.

However, this is the story of the family.
The family main person name is Digambar Babu trying best for keeping his love one happy
Whatever he had made faults in the past could not ruin the present, whereas his wife is unconditionally grown her family, now became something different because of her past incident and injustice towards her.
His daughter married now want to away from his husband she doesn't love him whereas he loves her so much, her ex-boyfriend trying to ruin her family because he has the power of politics,

I really enjoyed reading it as I began to like the stories that are filled with drama and action. It’s the drama or we can say dark story. It is about the family of Digambar Babu. The story is setup in 90s and set in the area of Bihar so it was something new read for me. Like I have watched series and movies based on this but for the very first time I am reading book based on this. I liked how the title is very related to the story like how the “Karma” word in the title gives justice to the story.
If we see generally, I loved the plot and concept. It’s different and unique. I liked the narration style. I loved the twists and turns portrayed. I liked the language and vocabulary used. I was feeling like watching a movie whole the time and I would definitely like to see a movie based on it. Overall good one. I really enjoyed reading it.

#qotd Do you believe in the equation, "as you sow, so shall you reap"?
#qotdindia Do you believe in the "Law of Karma"?

#aotd Yes I thoroughly believe that WHATEVER WE PUT INTO THE UNIVERSE WILL COME BACK TO US. It is like a web, which noone can escape.

Genre: fiction
Format: kindle
Published in Oct.2019
Written by Anurag Shrivastava.
It has 10 chapters, 189 pages & is priced at INR 99/-.

Tagline:
DIVERGING FROM SINGULARITY,
BEING BECAME IN PLURALITY;
ENTRAPPED IN THE WEB OF KARMA,
PIVOTED TO THE VOID.

🕷️ The novel is inspired from the real events happened in the town of Motihari during 90's era of Jungle Raaj.

🕸️ On one side, that execrable condition of affairs (control over law & order has passed from the hands of the admin to caste- based gangs) in Bihar is explained.

🕷️ And on the other hand, the story begins..with a dejected & dismayed middle- aged man (from the town of Mahatma Gandhi Champaran Satyagrah) Digambar Babu.

🕸️ The story revolves around him, his frustrated wife Shakuntala Devi, his son Sarvesh who is struggling with his 2nd marriage & career, his daughter Nisha who is not happy with her husband Shyam & still thinks about her ex Kanhaiya Tiwari (youngest corporator of the town), Sarvesh's 2nd wife Savita, his 1st wife, his children and how Savita & Kanhaiya collude for their respective evil motives...

🕷️THE STORY TRIES TO DRAW PARALLELS BETWEEN DIGAMBAR BABU'S DISARRAYED FAMILY & THE DISORDERED TOWN.

🕸️ My inferences:
👍 The language is pretty simple;
👍 Story telling is very effective
👍 & Engaging;
👎 There is use of vernacular lang. at instances which is kind-of foul at times although it may add to 'the effect' of the script;
👍 It is knowledgeable, for instance I got to know about Indigo plants, Mahatma Gandhi & his Satyagrah;
👎 It is slightly dark at places with adult content;
👍 There is a refreshing breather of poetry at a point.
👍 The cover is perfect wrt the context & intriguing;
👍 Title is apt & gives way to the crux of the read;
👍 The narration is very descriptive but the plot is so engaging, you won't be able to leave the book & will continue & read on.
I finished the book in 1 sitting although it took me more time than I had expected.

It enlightens us in a perfectly weaved story with the Laws of Life & the various emotions different individuals go through playing various roles in their life, our deeds, its effects & how eventually a human being, when he nears The End realises that, everything is but, a BIG ZERO.

Book Review : The Web Of karma
Author : Anuragh Srivastava
Pages : 292
Rating : 5/5
Cover : 4/5

About the book :

The book is written in a old history that is in 90.. The book is well depicted the characters which brings to light how the people lived during that times.
There were character's with the name kanahiya, who was the villain in the story and no more believe's in love and marriage. There are other characters Shankuntala Devi, Nisha, Dhyan, Savitri on whom the book is based.
The starting of the story brings out family issues which were relatable as now also we see in our homes.
Druga mandir was also show in the book which gave it a quite religious and cultural look of those times.
The whole book is a amalgamation of pure Hindi words written in English language which made it more clear and easy to understand for the Indian readers as they would be able to connect to it.
The book is a crime thriller where we see the author has talked about

“Champaran Satyagrah by Mahatma Gandhi"
It made it clear that the Author has done deep research on the topic and tried to give a fiction touch in the end. I liked the plot of the story as it was something soothing to read.
The war within is a chapter that changed my perspective towards the book and brought new light to the story.
I liked the whole story as a whole and there was nothing which I could not able to understand. The story has a free flow of information.

About the cover : The cover is exactly related to the topic. It has been designed very well.

Things I liked :
🤗 It has Sanskri touch throughout the story.
🤗 It has a pinch of mystery and the tittle is well explained.
🤗 It brought the essence of karma that each one should do good deeds.

Recommended to :

Everyone who love to read something fiction on karma.

Well... It's deep... very deep... and an important book to read...
Let's start with the cover of the book - the very first glance at the cover tells you that it's going to be a dark book, dealing with karma of people associated with each other... But the most attractive part of the book that I feel are the two lines as a subtitle written below the the main title, which goes like this:
"Diverging from singularity, being became in plurality;
Entrapped in the web of karma, pivoted to the void."
If you understand the two lines, you realize how deep they are... That's the essence of the existence of humanity and that's the main theme of the book.
Another thing in the cover, which caught my attention was a man standing in a circle entrapped in the karmic web looking at the stars... At first I couldn't understand that, but when I went through the book, I came across a line: "Zero is the ultimate truth, wherein the universe resides chaotically." That's when I understood the meaning of that circle representing zero wherein a man's world resides chaotically.
When you finish the book, you realize that the cover encompasses everything the author want to convey through his characters and the plot..
Now let's come to the plot: solid, fully-packed, engaging, gripping, and very close to reality...
Setting: Those who are from Bihar and have lived there during the jungle raaj, know that it's cent percent real.
Characters: beautifully sketched, and round all of them... With great depth... All the major characters...
Prose: Beautiful and poetic...
Craft and Structure: beautiful with all the curves with "almost" right curvatures at right places...
Philosophy: I agree with all of them... What I loved the most was:
"Neither this one, nor that one, truth is the entire spectrum;
The wholeness how can I see, unless the I-ness ceases to be."

I recommend it to everyone... Don't miss it...

When a book or a topic is about Karma, I instantly get interested in it. Because it is fun to read the stories and makes me believe in Karma even more than I ever believed. However, now I have realized that not every book on Karma is a funny one and this book made me feel so. This book is an interesting one I give it 4 stars out of 5. Here is my review of it:-

The story is based in Bihar during the 90s which was infamous for its Jungle-Raj. One of the best things that I loved about this book is that it is a beautiful combination of multiple characters and stories. While most of the books that have multiple stories end up in a confusion and make the readers go baffled, this was not the case with this book. The stories have been connected in an amazing manner with Karma playing the major part in the lives of almost every character. The characterization has been done in an amazing way to make the readers glued to the book.

More than the plot, I liked the way the characters have been described in this book and how smoothly they flow with the storyline. So, I did not want to break my flow of reading this book. There was a good amount of suspense in the book as well as I wanted to read how Karma will play a role now! I did not like the title of this book much and believe that it could have been a more catchy one. Also, the cover is quite simple and was a bit unattractive for me.

If you enjoy reading books on Karma, you can go for this one.

The Web of Karma written by Anurag Shrivastava is a crime thriller. This is a dark tale where lawless Bihar in the ’90s was used by the author as the setting for the story. This is the accurate book to provide you with a glance of Jungle-Raj if you haven't lived in that period.
The story revolves around Digambar Babu's family. His wife, Shakuntala Devi, how cruelly destroys her own son's marital life because of her jealousy with her daughter-in-law. She wanted to dominate her family and her son after marriage. The family has sinned and has been cursed by Digambar Babu himself.
The book has not only a single story but also multiple stories seamlessly and flawlessly intertwined with each other. The author's remarks on the caste system and views of human being on considering themselves superior should be applauded.
The stories the author has improved are very rational. I could sense the incidents are happening in my visionary while reading the book. Characters are very genuine. The readers can attach to all of them.
I would like to see the story on any of the OTT platforms sooner or later. The film adaptation is a must preferred.
I came to be very sentimental at the end of the book. In the whole story, Karma itself played an important role.

“Such a huge price one has to pay for peace in this life! The whole town sleeps under fear.” the story of kidnapping of Doctor Saran introduces us by holding our hands with that period of Bihar where smuggling , trafficking reached at its top form and people of Bihar considered all those criminal activities as the way of their business. Local MLA and the whole political system was corrupted and involved in such activities. Caste problem was one of the greatest reasons for this. Everyone to make their life secured and to be constant in the competition to live their desired life drunken hooligans and goondas created a fear in people's hearts. Where Saran's son was abducted and all doctors started to protest for that and stopped all their works at that time blood strained cloth of Saran's son came to him with the order to withdraw all protests .By turning the pages of the book more exciting circumstances come forward where Bihar was standing at that time.
Author has shown an utmost brevity by showing the real characters of politics and society of that time. Excitement and thrill in every page obliged a reader to complete this story in one seating. And overall how the beginning and climax of the story keep the full essence of adventure that is really appreciable .

I’m not sure where to begin. There is aam absolute lot that went on in this story. People from Bihar would surely relate to the events during the 90’s era of jungle raaj to a whole new level, in every way that matters the most. This should be made into a web series, I’m certain people would like this. ‘The whole town sleeps under fear’ and as you plunge deeper in to the story, the line makes much more sense. I loved that particular last entry of Shyam in his diary, it was very classy. How unkind words and bullying can travel with a person throughout, is something everyone needs to get straight through their skull. The anguish and self loathing are two bigger things that could drive a person over the edge, effortlessly and surely. And of the Down’s syndrome, society has a tendency to snatch normalcy out of people. Worse, if they are specially challenged. The struggle is very much real.
I rate it 3/5

Sooner or later, everyone sits in the banquet of consequences.

You may have heard a quote, "Jungle does not have any rules, except for one Survival".
The story is based on true incidents of the 90's era, Jungle Raj in Bihar. The Jungle-Raj was the era where humans treated other humans as animals. Murder, kidnapping, and extortion were the sources of income for most of the powerful people. The entire state was running without law and order.

The story is about Digambar babu and his disturbed family. Everyone has a different story and different perspective, but all of them are bound to their fates and karma has a plan for them all.

The story is precisely written with a political dilemma. There are so many characters in the book, but the author had tried to balance them all. The narration is clear and impressive. The title and title are suitable for the storyline. Overall a good read book.

The Web Of Karma by Anurag Shrivastava is a book that delivers and oozes flawlessness. With story interwoven by the characters present in the book, it produces a story like no other.
Book is set in the 90s of Bihar when uncouth was prevalent and intellect, obsolete. All characters take a reasonable stand and hence readers can't feel disconnected from the book for one second.
Story and characters are relatable and once started, one just can't leave it before finishing it fully. Oddly enough, ending left me craving and wanting for more... but, alas, like all things, it too had to end.
Narration is impressive and choice of words are commendable. Overall, this book is one I would undoubtedly suggest anyone to read who wishes to spend his time reading a good book.

This is the era of Jungle-Raaj in Bihar - the dark age of increasing anarchy and lawlessness in the state.
Control over law and order has long since passed from the hands of the administration to caste-based gangs and organized crime syndicates enjoying political patronage.

This book is incredibly crafted - in plot, in structure, in language, in emotion. Karma is defined as the effect of any act or otherwise it is the law of cause & effect, regulating ones future life ; inevitable retribution. This novel is really a eye-opener for all readers!
Shakuntala Devi is not able to control her jealousy and so she came to a conclusion where her son's life was all messed up! Just loved the book and could totally relate to the 90s.

"An Emotional Journey"
A rich tale depicting a troubled family which endures in the dark age of Jungle Raaj in Bihar...
The family has sinned and has been cursed by someone who instead ought to have taken the reins of the family in his hands and lead it out of the pernicious pitfall.
The biggest threat to the already troubled family is the youngest corporator of the town who has sworn to ruin the family.

The travails of the family is graphically depicted here. The madness of the jungle-raaj, the hooliganism of the state... It's all emotionally draining...
I got very emotional at the end of the book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This is based on the real-life incidents in Bihar during the era of Jungle-Raaj.
The plot is set up in a typical town of Bihar, Motihari in the '90s. When the hypocrisy and anti-social activities were at its peak
The author crafted emotions like love, hatred, commitment, anger, betrayal etc in a wonderful way. Every member of the family is indulged in some cases which are highly criticized by society.

Each character is given an equal and perfect important role. The story is lucid and based on the deeds of a typical family.
The karma of their choices leads them and their closed ones into dilemmas where they are apparently stuck forever.
It was a page-turner.
A good crime thriller to read

Perfect read.

The web of karma
BY:- Anurag shrivastava
.
Some books unfolds true nature of this world.
Those who sinned will suffer one day....
.
Everyone busy with their own life. Who want to talk about others and why should we interfare about others. But it is quite necessary to observe the life. What will we do affects us and our surroundings. Every person is connected by faith. So if you want to read that type of cartoon web of karma opens a different world for you.....
.
A man unsatisfied with his life and makes target his wife for his frustration and suffering from loneliness.
A boy is bullied in his school and missing now. What will be the reason behind this and how it to effect their life ?
Everyone accuses Hariom mentally disturbed but is he really in this state or it is something else ?? Why Digambar babu is in trouble ?
Can loving someone affects other ?
All are connected and all will reap what they sow. But what will happen and what they do these all above questions can be found in the web of karma.
It is a mixture of history, fiction and some modern story telling style. As we can find that it is inspired by true events so that it reflects the harsh character of humans and society. It's reflects the vast picture of bihar and it's people. Story not revolve around only one person but every character is perfectly portrayed and has its own place. And nice thing is that each part is incomplete without other.
Book consentaneously touches deep facts lies between system. Caste, domestic violence, gender discrimination and many more. It is a combo of such type of demeanor.
.
The most sensational title I have ever read. This is perfectly reverent to the story but the content and plot is little lengthy and somewhere unworthy. Bur overall the connection of events and story is fabulous and appreciable.
.
For cover, I don't like it because it is quite not linked with the content of this book. My opinion is that it can be more attractive and representing the story type.
But overall the concept and formation of this book is perfect.
.
Recommending all book lovers because it is a realistic type of book and invokes sentiments in the reader.

Karma is defined as the effect of any act or otherwise it is the law of cause & effect, regulating ones future life ; inevitable retribution.
Karma is basically the idea of 'what goes around comes around' whether it is negative or positive.

"Web of Karma" is a gripping story that narrates the political & family's day to day life & the true events of 90's time.
The story begins with the desperation of a father to get his son back who is kidnapped in a lawless town where people are migrating to other state as kidnapping is growing every single day.
Digambar Babu, head of the family is unhappy to see the walls building among his family members. His wife, Shakuntala Devi shows herself as a typical mother in law who often has a problem to everything but her enmity reaches an extent where she becomes a cause for her son's broken marriage.
Sarvesh, trying to correct the mistakes he committed in his first marriage ends up doing the new mistakes again which makes him regret later.
Nisha, who is deeply in love with kanhaiya is forced to marry Shyam and curse her family for her situation but as time pass, she realize that Shyam is the ideal husband and father that one could get.
When it comes to the character Kanhaiya, he is from a political background and his narration is made in almost every chapter. He has a so called lost love and egoistic person who oath to destroy the family for which Nisha, Sarvesh's daughter & wife becomes the victims.

It is very brilliant attempt of Author to pen down every character in different chapter and narrating through their point of view.
The book also conveys that even though karma punishes for the sinful once, the innocent ones are not spared.
I could find Shyam's character as mature once.
The self love is brought out well through Shobha & Sarvesh's first wife which is inspiring too.
The story has so much for it's readers.
The last chapter provides complete justice and it's definitely a worthy read.

My suggestion : If you think your mistakes will get punished then grab this book to know how Karma brought a realization to everyone.

Book Title: The Web of Karma
Author: Anurag Srivastav
Format: Kindle

Book Title:
The title of the book ' The Web of Karma ' is complex and mysterious.

Book Cover:
The cover image of the book is a digital art of a man standing on the ground watching the sky with beautiful galaxies over.

About the book:
The novel is inspired by the real events happened in the town during the 90’s era of jungle-raaj.

My review:
‘The Web of Karma’ by Anurag Shrivastava is a book about the Jungle Raj era in the state of Bihar during the 90's. Jungle-raj refers to a criminalized nexus of politicians, government officials, businessmen, and other entities. This criminalized nexus is responsible for illegal activities to be committed a sustained fashion, sometimes openly, and mostly with the use of violent intimidation. In Bihar, jungle-raj means enormous corruption, kidnapping, and crime

With great narration, the author has given a chance to the readers to get deeper inside the era where the rate of crime was shooting drastically. The story starts with Dr.Sharan's son being kidnapped and he is clueless about what happened and what must be done next. From this point, the story takes an ample number of turns where the readers experience a real roller coaster of incidents and events.

With many characters and subplots that are inspired by real incidents, one can feel how people got affected by such crimes. The author's narrative at some places gave chills in the spine visualizing how cruel the people were. It is very clear that the author has researched very well and provided factful incidents.

Characters:
Every character is relatable and written realistically.

Narration:
A very gripping and engaging narration is found.

Language & Grammar:
With clear and easy language, the book is readable for a reader of any age group who can understand the ground reality.

My Final Verdict:
A bold book with thrilling narration

Book Title:4/5
Book Cover: 4/5
Plot: 4/5
Characters: 4/5

🤷📓
Why read this book?
If you love Rowdy Bihar based story with a spice of drama, thriller, history and philosophy then you must give this a try.
📓📓
A story depicts the harsh and terror state of Bihar through narration of Digambar Babu family. Digambar Babu who never paid attention to his family resulting it to his family break apart, his wife Shakuntala Devi who regrets selflessly giving attention to her family who never appreciated her selflessness so she wants to leave all and be selfish, his son Sarvesh, whose marriage and career both are failure, his daughter, Nisha doesn't seem to be fall for her husband Shyam who is trying his best to make her fall for him. Now with all this mess Nisha's ex-lover comes where all the issues come up who has sworn to ruin the family while Sarvesh's wife supports his evil intents. And throughout the story you will see how karma plays a role and how small small incidents lead to major changes in their lives.
💜🔥
The novel is inspired from the real events happened in the town during 90’s era of jungle-raaj.' The whole town sleeps under fear ' as you read this lines feel more real and scarier. Since it is inspired by the real events it's narration is based in the dark age whe anarchy and crime is present largely in the state. Everything is caste based from crime to politics. Crime like contract killing, smuggling, illegal tree cutting, vehicle snatching, kidnapping, etc is just considered as business and Rangdari(extortion) is this one element of crime world that works everywhere. With all this crime in the state migration to the other state is at peak. The state doesn't show any signs of improvement day by day the crime and terror in the state keeps increasing!!!
😇😇
All the emotions, depiction of cruelty and crimes and all the family drama and the spice of philosophy from Shyam made the read quite interesting!!!!

Digambar Babu, a middle-aged man of a small town Motihari (the place of Mahatma Gandhi's Champaran Satyagrah), is dejected and dismayed for his family falling apart, and so sets himself on a mission to make amends for the mistakes he has done in the past. Sarvesh, their asthmatic son, whose first marriage perished about a decade ago, is still struggling with both his career and his married life, and Nisha, their daughter, is married to someone whom she thinks she will never be able to love.

You might think the book is as simple as the blurb is, well that's not true. The book is a product of experience and amazing writing skills. Yeah, it's different, it's complex but it's all worth it. It's a full length novel where a lot of real life things are happening here and there and everything is about karma, karma can return and karma can ditch as well. The best part of the entire book are the characters, the heavenly characters who have a firm base and roots deep into the ongoing scenarios in the book. The background, where the entire story takes place is at first Motihari, thought the book is completely unpredictable I was continuously trying to get things clear in my mind where on the other hand the stories were parallell running at the same time.
.
The book focused on other important issues like illegal tree cutting, smuggling, kidnapping and all sorts of evil in the society that were happening write in the 90s where the entire story is based. The book has that desi crime taste which actually has existed in our country and still exists. No doubt, its fast paced and a lot of effort has been taken to bring it out this way on paper. It's rough, unique and I certainly felt like watching a movie myself. Shakuntala Devi, is one of those character who is always calm and thinks she can be nothing or no women can be nothing without a male partner. The disordered village and the male dominnt society makes it a remarkable read in terms of writing. I definitely loved it. Highly recommended.

‘Fraid am I race to top:
Failed I would rather be,
And be degage bystander,
To treasure the beauty thereof’

This book is not related to anyone's protagonist you will find while reading it. It has a different protagonist. The story tries to draw parallels Digambar Babu’s disarrayed family and the disordered town. The novel is inspired by the real events happened in the town during the 90’s era of jungle-raaj. Digambar Babu, a middle-aged man of a small town Motihari is dejected and dismayed for his family falling apart, and so sets himself on a mission to make amends to make amends for the mistakes he had done in the past. Shakuntala Devi, his wife, infuriated at herself has devoted her whole life selflessly and arduously for her ungrateful family, wants to make up for the injustice she had done to herself, by living the rest of her life selfishly

My favorite stanza’s from ‘The War Within’
Fluidity!
Strength it is in itself.
A solid breaks,
Or reduces to flakes.
A fluid writhes in pain,
Transforms time and again,
For the harmony to remain
Strength it demands.

There was a time when I was low;
Was mad at God that He didn’t know:
What I do like and what I wish for,
And what are the things that I do abhor.
I e’er prayed to Him for a lover so true;
But his veiled plans I could never construe;
Now I realize He already knew;
So sent me princess, who has come through.
Oh, my darling angel, God blessed me with you;
Words can’t express, so much I love you.
Look in to my heart, you will find you;
And all I do see is you and only you.

Book Name- The Web Of Karma
Author- Anurag Shrivastava
Review- The Web Of Karma is a novel based on true events of 90s. Based on true events is the real catch of the book as it dwells more interest in readers to know about it. The story line revolves around those times of jungle raj where law and order was no more a threat to the evil. In backward areas such thing still exists and more crimes scenes are developed at such places. Kidnappings, Killing, cutting trees and all such crimes are filling the newspapers where the characters Shakuntala Devi after devoting her entire life to her family realizes that injustice done by her to herself. It is completely correct that one shouldn’t forget one’s own identity while filling duties in relations but it indeed I wrong to rectify the mistakes my torturing the innocent ones. Same was the case with Shakuntala Devi who knowingly and unknowingly filled her soul with envy and burnt her sons happy married life. She took decisions on behalf of her children, married them against their choices and will and the consequences were to be faced by the innocent souls as well! There is a lot to learn from this story as we can stop ourselves immediately as we realize that we’re repeating the mistakes done by these characters and stop ourselves from ruining not only ours but the lives connected to ours. I realized how Karma works through the true incidents mentioned in the book and am really amazed how our past takes a toll over our life and how we are served what we deserve. A must read for current times where envy is taking over gratitude. The title of the book is really amazing and real life incidents mentioned in it teaches important life lessons!

"Web of Karma" is an eye-opening book for all the readers.
In the initial chapter, Political issues are brought out as mentioned in the description.
Shakuntala Devi, unable to control her jealousy ends up ruining her son's life.
Nisha, daughter of Shakuntala Devi, always supports her mother but get devasted when she doesn't get the same support from her mother in her love life.
Kanhaya, a spoiled guy involved in politics who has no faith in love, ex-boyfriend of Nisha as well but continues his affairs even after Nisha gets separated from him. His character is negative and he is not the right man for any girl.
As in the 90's era the book has shown that the husband is the ultimate right choice & not the lover.
Shyam, Nisha's husband is a sensitive & humble person.

There are still other characters that seem to be protogonist.
The author has given equal importantance to each character irrespective of their age.
The book conveys that Karma never forgets anyone & no matter whether we regret or not all our sins will get punished.
There is flaw in each character and Karma haunts everyone.
The book is a long read but definitely it must be read by everyone.

Language is easy to understand.
The book cover, title totally relates to the storyline.
The character are well plotted.
The naming of each chapter is well done.
Since it is based on True events, the book can relate to large number of readers.
Highly recommended to everyone.

The Web of Karma
Author: Anurag Shrivastava
Pages: 291

‘The Web of Karma’ by Anurag Shrivastava is a tale set in Bihar during the 90’s where we get to have a glimpse of what the conditions were during that time. As the book starts we get to see that Dr. Sharan’s son has been kidnapped and he is helpless with what he can do about it. We get to how conditions have changed there was a time when all was good in the state and now the conditions have deteriorated.

The book is arranged in such a manner that the readers will find it interesting how one story is linked to another. The characters are very well written and they are totally relatable. All the emotions that we see the characters are going through are so relatable. We can surely find someone around us whom we can relate to the characters. Each character has his/her own trait and they all have their guilts and moments which they are contemplating with.

The language is simple and lucid and the readers will find it very easy to read. The book cover and title very much suits the story. As the book is based on true events, readers might surely connect to the book very well.

The plot is very well thought and we get to see how Karma plays an important part in everybody’s life. The readers will surely love the plot and find a little different than the usual stories that we normally get to read.

Overall, I loved the book and would surely recommend it to all.

Book- The Web of Karma
Author- Anurag Shrivastava
Type-Fiction
Format- E Book (Kindle)
Rating-4/5

The Web of Karma by Anurag Shrivastava is a beautiful book based on real incidents. Story has a natural message hidden in it- Nobody gets a tree laden with sweet mangoes if he sows seed of Babul (a thorny plant0 i.e. what you do, you will get its result. It is truly said that one should engage in act without bothering about the results of the action.

Story in this book is revolved around few family members i.e. mother, daughter, son, daughter’s husband and daughter’s ex boyfriend. A number of incidents happens, a number of betrayal takes place, a number of commitments broken, a number of times support was given among the members in different different scenarios.
Book is full of emotions including. love, hatred, commitment, anger, betrayal etc.

Through this book, author endeavour to bestow the message about how “karma” works (to be read as “may work”) and has been successful in accomplishing it.

Things I liked were-
1. Language of the book was easy and comfortable.
2. Emotions were stunningly portrayed.
3. Characterization was flawless.
4. Plot was well developed and executed. Story revolved around different kind of relationships.
5. Book cover was nice.
6. Title of the book is apt.
7. Narration style was mature.

There was nothing which I disliked in this book. Overall it was a very good read and I recommend this book for all the fiction lovers.

This is a dark tale set in the backdrop of anarchical Bihar of 90’s, and if you haven't lived in the Jungle-Raj, this is the perfect book to give you a glimpse of that era.
What I liked the most about this book is its structure: it has lots of it. It’s not a single story about a protagonist and the other characters around it, while it's multiple stories interwoven with each other beautifully and seamlessly in order to etch a beautiful spectrum. If you think you're going to find a single protagonist in this book, you're wrong. Every major character is a protagonist, or rather say the plot is the protagonist, or even better to say: “Karma” is the protagonist, and all the characters weave their web of Karma and fabricate their fates.
Another thing what I loved about the book is its characters – beautifully sketched. You dive in to the psychology of each character and come out contented. No major character is flat. There’s a journey of each character and you'll be able to relate to each character.
There's yet another great thing about the book is its gorgeous prose and its poetries. I totally loved it.
The only negative point of the book, where the author has a scope of improvement, is that a few things ended suddenly, it could have been stretched a bit longer, to sketch a perfect arc.
Anyways, overall the book is great.

This book follows the reality of the 90s era in Bihar. The story is about the jungle raaj that prevailed in Bihar at that time. The lawlessness and chaos that was seen and experienced by the people of that state. The state was no more governed by law and logic, but by caste. Caste based groups started administrating. Business and development was on a downward graph while kidnapping and contract killing became the new business. The state was drowned in the criminal activities and the public lived in the worst environment. This story is in a great way connected with the concept of Karma. The characters are nicely sketched and their lives are well connected with the concept of Karma as well. I really enjoyed the plot and the way the narration made the story so smooth and easy to read. Dark themes or controversial topics tend to bore reader, but this book is not one of them. You will enjoy the storyline and plot without feeling heavy because of the theme. The unique idea of adding Karma in playing the characters and the story is wonderful. The suspense of the book is never lost and that is a great thing. The title does catch a certain aspect of the story, but does not convey the real meaning of the book. The tile is also very vague. It is showing no relation to the story for me.
Overall, I rated this book a 4/5 ⭐️
