I've been wanting to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator for a while. I would look at different videos and the like, but I would always get bored and click off of them.
This book came up in my recommendations on Amazon. I debated with myself if I should buy it, but ultimately I did.
I am using Affinity Designer and the author was using Gravit Designer. Despite that, it wasn't too hard to figure the corresponding tools. Occasionally, I would google when he mentioned something that I couldn't find in my program, but I just clicked around a bit for the most part.
This book is really simple and informative. I learned a lot from it.

Chuckled aloud a few times
This book was informative and funny! Great review for design beginners. I really appreciated the author’s sense of humor, which made it east to follow.

While informative, it has not been updated with current information. The main program the author refers to has since been bought by corel. It is now no longer free to use.
