Persinger, a neuropsychologist, has devoted his career to environmental effects on human consciousness, focusing especially on altered states of consciousness and on the supposed experiences of UFOs & nonhuman intelligences. An academic researcher, his work deserves serious consideration particularly in light of the military and police applications of electromagnetic field propagation.

Although I can't agree with all of his conclusions, I find a scientist like Persinger a great thinker. He is willing to address unconventional questions without belittling those who believe improbable things. Further comments on his book may be found on my blog: Sects and Violence in the Ancient World.
