Note: I received this novel in advance via complimentary scene-a-day email subscription.
Whoa. This novel took so many unexpected pivots; there is no way to predict what will happen or how it will end, right up to the last chapter. The plot is original, the characters are authentic, the mystery is suspenseful, and the humor is delightful. I always looked forward to the next scene, and I would recommend this book to young adults and older adults looking for a fun, interesting, easy, suspenseful read.

Readers’ Comments “Cool book. I liked Madison a lot; She had the right mix of innocence and grit. The story is interesting too. I want to be a journalist myself so this was sort of up my street. I'd read another book by this author.” Female reader, aged 16 “I guess it's every reporter's dream to find the biggest story ever, but in this book possibly Madison has discovered more than she wanted! This is a fast paced thriller with interesting characters and a complex plot. I felt the author knew how to keep young adults gripped by his storytelling by not having too much lengthy description. There's plenty of dialogue in this story too which I like.” Male reader, aged 15 “I think the author is really good at writing speech. It sounds really authentic and I wish I could write that way. When I write speech all my characters sound like robots. I read this book in a week and I'm glad I did.” Female reader, aged 15 “I liked all the twists in the plot. As I read it, every chapter seemed to get better and better. I like books that end in an exciting way, and this did.” Male reader, aged 15
To Sum It Up: ‘A fast-paced young adult thriller packed full of twists and turns. A FINALIST and highly recommended.’ The Wishing Shelf Book Awards
I actually read this book scene by scene over quarantine. The author sent out one scene a day to your email. It was one of the firsts things I did every morning. I think I’m going to reread it now so that I can see how different it is to flow through it instead of waiting eagerly til the next morning for the next part to come.
