The most important part of our body is — The Brain. The brain controls and gives messages to other body parts to work accordingly. If the brain stops working, our existence doesn't matter.

Abhijeet Satani through his novel, 'A Simple Approach To Neuroscience' details us about the brain. It studies the brains and its different parts. The author has penned down the basic understanding about the brain, its structure with some illustrated diagrams in an elementary language which will not baffle us, and we understand each and concept tactfully. With a simple portrayal, the author gives us the knowledge that each of us should know, even if we are not from a medical background. If you are eager to know more about your brain, you must definitely pick this book up.

Basics of neuroscience

This book consists of some helpful insights and information related to our brain and neuroscience.
There are 18 chapters, related to imaging process, visualization, brain, etc.
The things I like in this book are :- the explanations are given in points, which are helpful to avoid boredom and the diagrams can help us to retain the things more & also for long term.

The wonderful self help line, which I've found in this book beyond information is:
"Without a brain, you might look good, but all you could do is run for public office".

Recommended for : neuroscience students, or those who wants to understand the functions of brain.

Picked up this book as I wanted a break from fiction. It certainly did not disappoint me!

Despite years of efforts trying to understand human brain, certain functionalities and complexities are unexplored. This fascinates me.

Apart from the medical jargon, this book covers all essential information about brain and it's components in an easily understandable manner. Short read but an informative one.

A simple approach to Neuroscience by Abhijeet Satani Book Review: The Brain is the most complex part in the body structure of an human being. It is the most crucial organ, without which we are nothing not a robot, not an AI but simply nothing. In fact, the AI is also inspired from the intricacies of the human brain. The brain dictates all the stimulus for the functions the body has to perform that is, everything starts from the brain, both practically and theoretically. The brain is the organiser of the nervous system and is in itself such a complex creation that scientists all over the world have yet not discovered the full potentialities and components of the brain. Most of us know that the brain has two sides the left and the right and it is the grey matter that is believed to having been stored everything including our most treasured memory. Anything related to brain is a part of neuroscience and is handled with utmost dedication because it is delicate apart from being complex. This book has approached the study of brain that is the neuroscience in the most easiest of the ways possible. The book has explained concepts from the central nervous system to the meninges to the cell structure in brain to the dura matter and also the cerebrum and the cerebellum. To justify the easiest approach of this work, in the very beginning this book had quoted Bernard Shaw in his most appropriate statements that brain is in itself a fat so how can one reduce fat from their diet? The work also talks about sleep mechanism that gets induced from the brain and is essentially to keep the brain working steadily. A healthy brain is ultimately the success of an healthy body and I gathered this knowledge after finishing the book. To know more about the brain, to explore it's sections, to know how to keep it working the way it has to all should read this book. It will remind us of our basic biology lessons which we tend to forget. The best book in the world of non-fiction medical science reads, this book is helpful for people engaged in different fields of their life.

Neuroscience: any or all of the sciences, such as neurochemistry and experimental psychology, which deal with the structure or function of the nervous system and brain.

This book is a masterpiece of brain. The author has beautifully explained each and every part of brain in detail. Photographs and diagrams made the understanding more interesting and logical. The language is simple and easy to understand but not recommended to the beginners as this book is based on the scientific concepts. This book is highly recommended to the science students and the students who are appearing or who are planning to appear for the MBBS degree. It is very interesting to understand and to learn new concepts about our brain which most of us are unaware of.. I been from arts background was very curious to learn about brain and I literally learned a lot a lot.

Sometimes the things most worth doing can cost us our lives. Craig Leibfreid finds this out first hand in the adventure-memoir RIVER CLASS. Whether at the hands of the river, or by psychedelic drugs, Craig goes through life wide-eyed and white-knuckled searching for that someone who can tame him.

After graduating high school, Craig begins experimenting with psychedelic drugs, and around that time he falls in love with long-time friend, Natalie. They take a vacation to Great Britain together, but after their return, Craig and Natalie part ways as they attend separate colleges. Craig begins searching for the next high. Before long, Craig experiences the sport of whitewater kayaking and is hooked for

life. After a near-death experience on the river, Craig becomes president of the Whitewater Paddling Club of West Virginia University. There he meets Katie Jones, a black-haired beauty from West Virginia, and takes Craig for a ride that almost costs him his life.

The cover of this book is simple and sober the title is different from the rest the rest and the language used by the author is simple and easy to understand.

"There is no scientific study more vital to man  than the study of his own brain. Our entire view of universe depends on it "

-Francis Craig

As the title suggests itself, the book is all about Neuroscience and its simple approach towards brain science. The human brain is the most complex organ and arguably the most complex thing on earth. The book is an introduction to those young minds who are eager to know about Neuroscience.

Written in a clear-lucid language this book will guide you with step-by-step methods and will definitely be able to quench your thirst in Neuroscience as a beginner .

'Simple approach to Neuroscience' by Abhijeet Satani has been a very informative read for me. I believe if you're interested in this field and want to pursue an upper hand knowledge before jumping on the actual text book then this book will be very useful to fill your basic knowledge and even your only a science enthusiasts without a proper science background, this book will only add up to your mastery

Now coming back to the book, this book is consistent with 18 chapters and starts with anatomy of the brain and ends with explaining Neuroethics and in between the book deals with various topics like Vision, Movement, Stress, Dyslexia and much more. There are diagrams and illustrations that are portrayed which will assist you to visualize. However, there are few medical terms which might look a bit scary and difficult to grasp at first sight but the explanations are so well described therefore, the difficulty won't stick for long.

The title is absolutely apt for the book. The cover page is suitable. Writing style is quite engaging and the concept is splendidly demonstrated. I'll rate the book 4 / 5.

P.S. Chapter 12 is my favorite ❤

As a doctor in the making, I can assure whoever is reading this book that it is well researched & written. Even if you aren't a science student you can understand everything about the brain because of the way the author has described everything. The book is strewn with so many pictures. The book explains the Anatomy, Physiology, Radiology of the brain. It's like every subject part that was related to the brain was combined to be written into this book. It was perfect. I read through it super fast. I can tell you that as a student who was & is interested in the workings of the brain & struggled with understanding it. Even a highschooler can understand the knowledge in this book. I think it would be a great help for medicos. And anyone who is interested in the workings of the human brain can read it.

As we all know, Human Brain is the most complex as well as the most beautiful machine in the Human body. Yes I call it a machine, as after reading this book I realized how complicated its wiring is, but Abhijeet Satani has simplified this complex structure so well in this book that every person can read and understand it. This book not only deals with the parts of brain, but also the disorders caused by any medical condition.

My personal favorite portion was chapter 12 that deals with stress, as it is the most talked about topic nowadays causing depression, anxiety, etc. It was a delight to read how brain tackles situations like stress and fear, and it made me more aware that stress, anxiety and depression does affect a person in many different ways.

“A simple approach to neuroscience” is the perfect book especially for the NEET aspirants as well as new medicos who are starting their journey in the medical world, to understand the human brain and nervous system easily. As the book is divided into 18 chapters, covering most of the basics as each chapter dealing with one portion at a time makes the understanding all the more easy. It is a good read and really very helpful and worth buying. A Simple Approach to Neuroscience Abhijeet Satani

"Neuroscience is by far the most exciting branch of science because the brain is the most fascinating object in the universe. Every human brain is different-the brain makes each human unique and defines who he or she is."

Talking about the author first the author is naturally inclined towards neuroscience in particular and what's better than opting to publish a book on the topic you love the most. The author is researching on the nervous system and so is this book influenced by the thoughts of author.

Being a non biology student I thought it may be difficult for me to comprehend this book but when I went on with it,I never felt out of the world.

We all have some or the other time thought that infinite organism in the world, billions of humans in the world yet everyone has his/her unique ability to do everything. Well there comes neuroscience. The author has amazingly started with the deep anatomy of brain and the neural networks. The explanation is really beautiful as it is accompanied by the diagrams and makes it easy to understand. Then the author moves on and talks abiut the neurons and the reflexes of brain. Then comes the tougher issues in daily life, the author discusses Neuroplasticity, dyslexia and much more.

This book is an amazing read for the folks who love to read about the nervous system.

I do read a few health & medical science related books every year – focussed on neuroscience, gut health, longevity, yoga, mindfulness etc. This time I chose a book which explains the workings of the brain in detail without getting much into how we can maintain brain health.

The book starts with how the brain is organized – which I would reckon would be largely known to most readers. There are subsequently further details, all of which was interesting. For instance – 1/3 rd of our approximately 20,000 genes are active in the brain. The brain development starts almost immediately after conception and the brain engages in a stupendous rate of neuron building. The further chapters have details on – the effect of drugs; how the brain processes pain; visual pathway from eyes to the brain; our actions and the brain; impact of abnormalities leading to conditions like Parkinsons, Dyslexia etc; frontal lobe development providing us reasoning powers into our 20s (and hence making teens susceptible to rashness/poor decisions); Neuroplasticity - ability of the brain to repair itself; short term vs long term memory; brain function during sleep and various imaging tests available today.

The language could have been more conversational with more examples. Nevertheless, the material is crisp and no page is wasted.

My rating: 3.75 / 5.

This book is about the investigation of the mind and its different aspects.

It begins from talking about the fundamental science subjects like Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry of the cerebrum then it advances to its applied parts of these subjects to mind imaging procedures and neuroethics.

The creator has introduced this mind boggling field of neuroscience to the overall population such that a layman can comprehend with basic clarifications, undifferentiated from models and very much represented charts to clarify the content. The creator to a degree is effective in his approach. But there are sure slip-ups in my view in regards to certain points like Thalamus and representation of ventricles.

At first everybody can comprehend this book from beginning section if the peruser is of science foundation. Some other time when the book begins to pass regarding the matter appropriately a peruser from non-science foundation may have to check the significance of specific terms.

The brain is one of the most complicated human organs and its study is even tougher, but this book has covered every possible part with a detailed study and easy English making it easier to learn and read about it.
Every chapter contains a step by step reading making it start from the very beginning and then going through the detailed study. Even the diseases and terms that we use in common conversation have been wonderfully explained.

This book is good for both purpose if someone wants to read for the study purpose as well as for someone who just wants it for the information or reading for self. While there might be a few terms that might sound difficult for the non-science background but still the way they are explained and the majority of time accompanied with a picture, illustration portable, with detailed description has made it easier to be always thorough with the topic.
