When Zoey and her friends wake up to a morning call for recruits to save Earth from an attack by their enemies, the Xoliners, they didn't expect two things; 1) to be picked out for the mission, and 2) to find out a bitter piece of truth about their origin that sets their lives and everybody else's on edge. But that's not it, the world is going down the drain, and they might be the only hope left.
Eman is a beautiful writer, capable of making her reader live through her story not just read it. Not all writers are capable of making such thrilling and amazing stories that the reader just dies to know what happens on the next page and then goes into an eternal loop of “one more page.” But Eman did it like a pro :)
I can’t express enough my admiration for this book.. it has a special place in my heart actually.. the way of writing is amazing..also it is a good choice if you need a book to start reading in English❤️
Amazing book, I didn't feel the time while reading. it has a wonderful aura and I love imagination in it Give it 1000000000000/10 it's really good and I recommend you to read it ❤
TROAC is a mystery novel that tells the story of a team of four school friends with superhuman abilities tasked with saving the human race from an impending alien invasion.
The story is interesting enough to keep the audience turning the pages, but still simple so as to not overwhelm the reader with too many details. Its best main target audience would be children or teenagers on account of the simple yet exciting premise and flow of events, in addition to the easy-to-understand language. The author, Eman Nabil, relies a lot on using subtle humor and lighthearted dialogue to ease the tension of an otherwise nerve-racking tale. The writing style greatly resembles that of R.L. Stine, where the situations are never vulgar or offensive but still nevertheless evoke a sense of urgency and caution in the reader's mind. Most characters in the book have well defined personalities, distinct from all the others, allowing the reader to properly visualize them and somewhat expect their actions and responses throughout the story. The world and atmosphere of TROAC is completely shrouded in an air of mystery, with otherworldly concepts and elements being introduced with every page, unfolding the plot slowly without giving all of it away at once. One thing that absolutely has to be commended about this book is Eman's ability to arouse a feeling of nostalgia and homeliness all through out the chapters of this story through the clever use of the young characters' perceptions of their surroundings, descriptions of their emotions, and deep yearning desires.
While TROAC definitely shows great promise and is a fantastic debut for the author, it also shows its flaws quite early on. Although most characters are important to the story and contribute a lot to its consistency, there are a few protruding outliers that either seemed important at first, then were quickly written out/killed off, or were seemingly insignificant but were somehow vital to the plot, introduced as a sort of Deus Ex Machina. The first few chapters are kind of difficult to get through. They were quite slow with nothing significant taking place or being revealed. It isn't until almost halfway through the book where the "hook" finally takes place. The plot itself, while simple at first, sometimes leans on being more mysterious and complex than it needs to be, with unexplained plot devices being presented out of nowhere, before backing off and expecting the reader to forget about the unanswered questions.
However, I still think this book is worth your time. The positives far outnumber the negatives, especially considering this is a debut novel. I would definitely recommend giving TROAC a shot, and am excited to read future novels by Eman, maybe even a sequel, since this book's ending definitely left me wanting to learn more about this universe and the future of its characters ❤️
