Tripping Again is a legal thriller—kinda, sorta—transporting readers to a time when rock and roll thundered and baby boomers shook a nation. For attorney John Crocker, it's the only way to make amends for a lifetime of deceit.John Crocker is determined to reconnect with a woman he met at an epic rock concert 50 years earlier, but he’s lost his mind, literally. He's left a lucrative law career and is driving across the country in an ancient VW Microbus with a nearly blind dog and a wickedly clever imaginary friend. Along the way, he realizes that redemption is earned one highway stop at a time, and the cost of forgiveness is higher than he could have ever imagined.
Dan Lee Rogers is an excellent writer. I was caught up quickly with the story and the mystery. His descriptions of the area and what he sees as he moves through his adventure is excellent and I was enjoying the experience. He is descriptive without being overly wordy. Dan has described his characters and made them people I would like to know more about. His knowledge and experience of the legal world was enlightening and a bit scary regarding the pollution of our environment and those people who manipulate for greed...makes one stop and think "What can I do to help?"
Read this novel while on vacation in the Caribbean. I have to say it was my constant companion through the entire trip. Supremely easy to read, fun fluid story with a couple of unexpected plot twists that really were a proper reward for putting in the time. I greatly enjoyed the characters and especially McDoggins who will forever hold a special place among fictional canines for me. Highly recommend this book to others.
12/10! Wow, hard to put down. Story about a corporate litigating attorney who has spent his career helping a large corporation (who’s products are environmentally harmful and have killed people) win cases dishonestly against the innocent victims. After experiencing a moral epiphany (ie, developing a conscience) he sets off on a life-changing journey across country. Thoroughly enjoyable and thought-provoking! A very unique, often funny, sometimes sad but excellent book.
First actual book I have read since my deployment to Afghanistan back in 2011/2012. Truly loved the book! It kept me "wanting more" the whole time. The ending was beyond more than I could have imagined. It really gave me a love for reading again. I really hope the next book I choose keeps that love as well.
