Finally we get more stories with Liv and Tula!
One of the few ranges left right now that can get me to instantly listen.

This set was not quite the breathless thriller we had the last couple of times.
This time, it takes it's time and the threat works in the background, slowly encroaching.
Yes, it was pretty clear to me from the start where this was headed (and it ended in a cliffhanger that was even lampshaded several times before, which I though was quite clever).
But it was the journey that mattered and the way the threat took hold and surprised Liv from behind.

I still like this range.
For me, it is a fresher take at some tried and tested old plots and thankfully, not a screaming Dalek in sight. I am so sick and tired of Daleks. Urgh.
Yes, the stories themselves are not extremely original, and the underlying storyline about AI and robots taking over a world is not something we have never heard before.
But it is the way it is presented.
A haunting thriller, building up underlying threat, raising some goosebumps here and there, and it just lives and breathes through it's characters.
The two leads just carry this.
They have some deep chemistry and it is totally believable that these two are real life sisters.
During this story, we get plots and counter plots, we get identity theft, shady politicians, creepy corporate types, terrorists, rogue AI, nicely packed into the story of two sisters trying to get along with each other, living together and trying to make it through a normal working day.
I especially liked the third story, which has a nice "real-time soap opera" vibe to it. That was really clever.
So yes.
This continues to be one of my favorite ranges and in my opinion one of the best ranges BF is currently running.
Writing and performance are amazing.
