Marriages can be fragile, shattered, broken, destroyed...

Holly Gallagher hoped she would find love. That she’d have a happy life, unlike her parents.

Those hopes are dashed when her family arranges for her to marry.

She prays that she won’t end up like her mother. Bitter. Twisted. Evil.

That is until she realises who she’s marrying. A monster.

Romero Bianchi has given his life to the Famiglia. He doesn’t love and he certainly doesn’t do attachments.

Everything he’s done is for the family. Nothing was going to ever change that.

Until Holly.

She breaks his resolve, piece by piece. She weaves herself deep inside his heart.

He’ll do anything for his wife. Protect her with his dying breath.

But being part of the Mafia isn’t easy. With enemies at every corner it’s hard to know where the threat is coming from.

When Holly’s taken, Romero shows the world what happens when someone takes what’s his.

Now he’s racing against the clock to find her before it’s too late.

I fell in love with the Gallagher’s from the very first book. Then the Bianchi’s stole my heart. Realizing meek, quiet Holly isn’t so innocent and experiencing Romero falling in love was everything. This story will keep you on the edge of your seat.

🥀 arranged marriage mafia romance
🥀 OW drama
🥀 fantastic world building

An unconventional marriage set in motion through the forging of alliances. Makenna Gallagher, Head of the Irish Mafia for the Eastern Seaboard and Holly's aunt, married Dante Bianchi, the Head of the Italian Mafia in New York. Families united through marriage are strengthening their power through sibling marriages. That meant that Dante's younger brother, Romero, was placed into an arranged marriage to fortify the Irish-Italian bonds.

Holly is the daughter of the Head of the Irish Mafia in Ireland, granddaughter to the Head of the Irish Mafia in New York, and great-granddaughter to the Leader of all the Irish Clanns. She is also the money person for the entire organization. To say she is one of the most powerful people, who doesn't get her hands bloody, is a gross understatement. When I glimpsed Holly in the last two books she came across as a docile demure woman who was bookworm smart. I never expected the spitfire with a 'killer right hook' that we're treated to in Fragile Union. Holly didn't take crap from anyone, especially Alessio. And the things she does to her brother-in-law are HILARIOUS!! The magazines in particular had me wondering if his level of upset wasn't related to him potentially being bi-sexual but only time will tell on that one. Especially after some facts we learn in this book.

Romero was portrayed as a cold hearted killer in Bloody Union. We saw someone who mirrored Kenna in darkness and who's demons spoke to hers. I was pleasantly surprised to see that he wasn't as relenting or unforgiving as I thought, especially once married. He may not have actively admitted to loving Holly but his actions spoke volumes. The way he felt hurt when she hurt. His inherent need to protect her. His protectiveness and possessiveness. They were the actions of a man who cared deeply. Watch what he does, not what he says with this one. There was not one minute I second guessed Romero. Okay, well maybe one tiny minute when he gets that text at the beginning of the story. But after that NOPE.

And no story would be complete without an antagonist to the story. That role was willingly filled by the ever despicable Georgina who gave me some serious flashbacks to a girl with the same name from Gossip Girl. I mean talk about a BITCH who doesn't know her place and is seriously delusional!! I must admit I'm quite pleased with how her demise played out.

The side characters are what always intrigue me with this series and keep me coming back for more. We are finally introduced to the family that's in charge of the Midwest expansion, the Contis of Chicago. Should be interesting to see how they integrate with the Irish in the future. Yet it was Denis' personal life that had me scratching my head. His wife Zoe, Holly's mother, makes me cringe and want to crawl into the book to strangle her!! And after the family revelations dropped last book, I'm not surprised that Denis has chosen to finally put himself first. It's his choice in companions that has my mouth hanging open. Shattered Union is going to be a ride and I'm prepared for a peek into the Irish operating in Ireland.

If you haven't gathered by now...this is NOT a standalone. You must read the series in order.

I enjoyed this book.
I need to get that out there since this review comes across as more negative than intended. It’s just… there was a lot I didn’t like. A lot that annoyed me so to come away liking this book is a big thing.

My first issue was Romero calling his wife Doll face. I cringed every time and we’re talking 88 times. That’s a lot of cringing for one book. It drove me crazy. Yes I know I should be more understanding, I should roll with it and not let it bother me. I tried, I really did but it drove me nuts.

….”It's either babe, baby, or doll face."

I blink. "Doll face?"

His grin widens. "Your skin is so fucking pale and soft it reminds me of those fine china dolls my mom used to have."

My second issue was all the time I spent listening to Rome telling me how badass he was. It all seemed a bit juvenile to be honest. I want to say it was all talk and no show. It that isn’t true there’s a lot of violence here as well.

The writing and the story were a little all over the place at times. I don’t want to put spoilers but there was one particular scene where they’re seeking retribution. It wasn’t funny but I laughed anyway because it was just so crazy. As a reader we knew by this point who was responsible but they drove off to kill loads of people without a shred of evidence or even any thought or discussion as to why.

Some of the characters seemed almost cartoon like with their OTT villain behaviour.

So this review seems more negative than I intended. Although I did warn you there was a lot I didn’t like here. And while it’s true the writing isn’t going to win any awards I did ultimately enjoy it. I won’t be continuing on with the series or even going back to catch up with the previous ones. But I did enjoy this despite the cringing and that says a lot.

One good thing is the strength of the main female characters. They were more than I expected and a big part of why I enjoyed this book.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley.

After reading this beauty of a book by the incredibly talented Brooke Summers I am honestly in shock and awe of her. This series just keeps shocking and throwing me at every turn and I just can’t get enough. You can see the passion that Brooke has for writing as it shines through every word written down. I love how you can get so swept up into the story that it feels like you’re actually part of the families, Brooke did a really great job at making that happen.
There’s always so much excitement with these books, that you can’t help but feel like you’re on a rollercoaster, but no matter what Brooke throws at you it’s always worth it.
I was really intrigued in both Holly and Romero from the get go, they’re both so quiet, but they also seem so different from the other characters. You have Holly who is pretty much innocent and she tends to build up walls so that no one can get in or see what lies beneath the surface. And then with Romero you’ve the one that follows orders, is willing to overthink on some of the choices that get made but also he is pretty much cold and shows no emotion. They are both so important parts oftheir families, and it’s great getting to see how things are from their point of view. You can’t help but feel for Holly as she does her best to keep out of the world the rest of her family are in, but she only dabbles in it a little enough to keep everyone safe, but in a way she is the brunt of the family and you can’t help but adore her.
I honestly think that Brooke’s writing improves as each book goes on and I’m suer excited to see what happens next as I have a feeling that they’re just going to get even more epic and explosive.
If you’ve not read any of the books in this series, I’d honestly rectify it as they are just to gooood.

Holly always knew that at some point down the line she was going to be married off to someone, mainly due to making connections and gaining strength within the world that they all live in. So when it became known she would be marrying Romero she can’t help but feel that he hates her considering he’s always so cold to her. All she’s ever wanted in life is to be loved properly and to have that connection with someone who will always be there for her, but it becomes apparent to her that she’ll never get that considering Romero doesn’t do love.
Things are testy between the two of them, but when one of Romero’s flings comes back to try and worm her way into his life, it only makes the two of them stronger.
Will his ex-fling leave him alone or is she set to keep causing trouble for the two of them??
Romero is tested and has his life altered when it’s known that Holly is now a target, will he finally see through his eyes that there may be room in his life for love??
Will they figure out who’s behind the war that’s about to begin???

I really enjoyed reading Holly and Romero's story. Romero we got to know a little from book 1 but even then he's a very closed off character. He's all about his mafia life, his brothers and having no attachments. All in all, he's lethal. Holly is a sweet woman but she also shows that she has a backbone, so she more or less ends up being a perfect mix for Romero. The family is huge so there's always a lot going on, not to mention they're mafia leaders but in this book we see all the action continuing. Holly and Romero don't really know each other before their arranged marriage but we spend a lot of time getting to know them both individually and as a couple. I was really happy with how they ended up being with each other, it wasn't a love at first sight kind of situation and they fought for what they had. The steamy scenes in this are nicely done and really added to their intimacy and how they connect as a couple. The action in the book really keeps everything going along quickly and I love all the interwoven stories from the other family members. I'm excited for Shattered Union next!

Holly and Rome have an arranged marriage. They learn a lot about each other, and themselves. The suspense and danger is riveting. Some of the violence is... creative. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Y'all I have been waiting for this book for like FOREVER. The made series is amazing and I love Brooke Summers writing. I swear to GAWD that she always makes me cry. I will say that there is violence and blood so if you have triggers read at your own risk. So we finally get Romero and Holly's story. Oh man this is just as good as the others. So we know that Romero did not have it easy growing up given who his dad is. People see him as a monster but don't actually see who he is. The people who see him is a select few. So we know that he accepted the contract to marry Holly and become the underboss. He sees this as it is and does not expect to fall in love. I mean even the hardest of men fall to love right? Now Holly she is a sweet heart. She does play a role in the mafia but nothing violent. She is more behind the scenes and smart to boot. She knows the life and what it all entails. She also has a fierce streak too and can handle her own. Once you get to know her though, you get to see the protective side of her. Now she knows that Romero will not love her but she will love them enough for both right? Well I can honestly say that I felt as though I was sitting on pins and needles several times throughout the book. Many times did I want to yell at Romero and Alessio. So what will it take to for Romero to realize that he can love someone. There is a lot of tragedy that occurs in this book and was in tears a couple of times. Will love prevail for these two? They have a lot of ups and downs in a short amount of time. I will say the wait was totally worth it. I love this series and cannot wait for what is next.

loved loved loved it.
This book takes up the story of Holly and Romero. And it sure does pack a punch with plenty of action. We still have all our favourite characters involved. Settling into married life is all not what it seems. Holly has fallen hard for Romero, but it's not reciprocated as he doesn't know how to love. In time things start to happen well what do you expect it's the mafia after all, what with kidnaps, beating, killings, shootouts , life never runs smoothly. This is definitely a page turner. I love this series.

Fragile Union; where to even begin?!? Holly & Romero and their story was different and when I say different if you're a fan of this series; after you finishing reading this book you'll know what I mean. Just a whole new vibe that I was 150% here for. There is so much that happens in this read; at times honestly I felt like I was holding my breath. From the dynamics between these two (trust me you are going to want to shake Holly & junk punch Romero A LOT in this book!) the drama and all the evil breadcrumbs of what's to come that Brooke Summers sprinkles throughout her books and you've got yourself quite the read. SO GOOD! I'm obsessed with this series and these characters and I cannot wait for what's next!

Keeping this review short and sweet as it's late but the further I got into the book, the more I couldn't put it down. I'll sleep when I'm dead.
Plus I also don't want to ruin anything, as there was non stop action from cover to cover.
The author will wring every emotion out of you with this book, was very cleverly done, had me going back and making sure I read that right.
Yet another amazing addition to this amazing series.
Can't wait to see what happens next.

Wow! Just wow! Poor Rome not knowing or ever experiencing that emotion, than Holly being the quiet yet vindictive type, match made in heaven. This book was fantastic, but did you have to end it there???? Seriously?!?!? It's not a cliff hanger guys, all good but jeez. I recommend reading the books close together as I got a hit lost in whom was whom but apart from that, great story! Very hard to put down.

This book was awesome! Holly is badass in her own way. Don’t mess with these women! Romero (Rome) thinks he’s a monster and maybe he is but he protects his family his wife at all cost! Him finally realizing he loves Holly makes my heart sing! I was so sad at one point but honestly I thought it was gonna happen in Bloody Union. Kenna and Lissa are scary separately but together watch out! I hate Zoe I wish I could kill her!

This series is Dynamite...and each book is as good as the previous one.
This is book three and is the story of Holly Gallagher and Romero Bianchi. If you are a lover of all things mafia/mob/bratva like myself you will absolutely love this series and the kickass, strong female characters which are unlike any typical female mafia character you have read. This starts off as an arranged marriage trope but you get so much more than that - the action, and the drama are non stop.
Looking forward to book four.

I CANT EVEN EXPLAIN HOW EXCITED I HAVE BEEN FOR THIS BOOK!!!

And let me say Brooke Summers, this book, might be my favorite from this series so far. The relationship between these two main characters, their chemistry is off the charts. There was so much action, bloodshed and cameos from some of my favorite other MC’s. I won’t post any spoilers, READ THIS BOOK. I seriously cannot get enough of these books!!

Fragile Union is book three in the Made series by Brooke Summers and is Holly and Romero's book. This book makes book one and two look like child's play. There are graphic scenes that might be too much for some, so read at your own risk. This book is intense and full of family dysfunction. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I absolutely loved the first two books in this series so eagerly started reading this third book and I can assure you—it did not disappoint me in any way, shape, or form. This story is fantastic!

I thoroughly enjoyed both lead characters, Holly and Romero, who were upfront and honest with each other… well to a degree… Holly’s temper was an awakening for him. 😆 This couple was so good together with their explosive passion and depth of care.

As you would expect in a mafia-based story there were heaps of nail-biting action that kept you on the edge of your seat with anticipation and at times abject fear. There’s plenty of drama, mainly family-based, to liven things up too. 😉

This is a fast-paced story and one that is hard to put down. My only complaint now is… I need the next book now, Shattered.

I have received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I definitely freaked the freak out after getting accepted to dive into Fragile Union. This entire series has been a chaotic roller coaster and I've loved every second of it. Even though each one had it's one predictability throughout it, I've still found some thing to be excited over. Plus I've been patiently waiting to dive into Romero and Holly's book. There was just something about these two that made me super excited to read about their love.

So it's safe to assume that this didn't disappoint. I think it's probably because each mafia family just adds a whole new level of craziness to this book. I feel like at one point I'm going to forget who is apart of which mafia due to all the marriages being formed. I'll still find a way to enjoy it all though and that's what really matters - right?

Other than that, the desperate villain in this one was a nice touch. From the very first moment of meeting her, I hated the girl. Loathed her entirely. I wanted her head on a pike just to make me happy. Yet, everyone just teased me until the end.

Then there's the ending, ugh, that damn cliffhanger. I'm not sad or emotional over it because it was bound to happen but I just want to know who did it. So I can give them a high five or something.

I have read this series from the beginning, and even though it's missing a really great editor/proofreader, there's just something about it that keeps you coming back. There's no doubt that these books are set within a mafia setting. The Irish are working with the Italians, the Russians might have beef, etc. However, underneath all of it are the family dynamics that weave the story. It's like a soap opera, but you don't need a score card. The best part is though that the women do not have traditional roles as you would see in some other books. They are just as formidable as the men in their own way.

From the beginning, it was determined that Romero Bianchi would marry Holly Gallagher. He's the second son of the previous don, so there's no advancement for him unless he becomes an Underboss to the Irish. In order to cement that alliance, he has to show loyalty and strength through marriage. Holly wouldn't have been the one that he would have chosen, but it's not a terrible thing either. There's something about her that brings out his protective side. When she becomes a pawn in a kidnapping plot, Romero will stop at nothing to make sure she's safe. He just doesn't realize that what he thinks is just loyalty to his wife might actually be real feelings towards her.

Wow Romero and Holly definitely do not have a conventional start to a relationship at all. An arranged marriage that could actually work out for both parties, and not only in business, I believe these two found the perfect match in each other. She's innocent and not as naive as she may seem to be, he is anything but innocent, but somehow these two together give me butterflies in my Belly they are that perfect for each other. Loved this read filled with everything I want, drama, death, love mystery and I little twist I wasn't expecting

Romero & Holly are paired together in an arranged marriage. Holly has always understood her role within the family but she's not the weak one, as others think. Romero has always been solid and is known as the "monster" throughout their world.
When enemies come calling its difficult to find who is their target and where the threat is coming from. Plenty of action within the book.
I can't wait to read the next book "Shattered Union".

Holly always knew that she’d marry one day for “the family “, but Romero, the new Underboss of the combined Italian/Irish mafia, seems to hate her. Their union is for the good of the family but they argue about everything and only seem to spend time together at night (steamy times aplenty in this book) so how can this marriage ever work? But soon Holly and Romero realize there’s more to marriage than the politics and through some exciting and dramatic terms their relationship develops into something more. This is book three in the Made series. Romero’s cockiness is not exactly endearing but he soon begins to grow on you as you learn more of his backstory, and Holly seems to hide her strength at first although she does start to evolve as well. While you do not need to read the books in the series I highly recommend that you do for greater enjoyment. This book has a good blend of steaminess, action and intrigue and I can’t wait for book four. 4 stars. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review.

Just telling you that this is another great book to add to the series. Holly is awesome , she comes off as meek and quite but don't cross her because she can be feisty. She loves so deep and is very loyal. She is as crazy as the other girls. Love her!! Romero ... where to start.... he is crazy crazy crazy and so strong. Now this story is messed up with triggers and I mean triggers so remember that when going in. I loved that the characters from the other books were in this and yes all the crazy women get together. I can't wait to get the next one !!!

ARC provided by NetGalley for an Honest Review
I think my expectations were a bit high for this one. After meeting McKenna in book one in all her fem fatale badassness I keep hoping for more heroines like her without acknowledging she’s one of a kind. The heroine here Holly may be McKennas niece and involved in the family business but she’s not a crucial part of it and has no place making decisions. She has a much more demure spirit when compared to her aunt. I did like seeing her come to bat when needed and I only wish it wasn’t just every time Rome’s crazy ex showed up. There is a bunch of OW drama with a psycho chick who can’t take no for an answer. I will say I did enjoy the book and watching Holly and Romero adapt in their forced marriage. It’s all business and Holly accepts her fate as does Rome who only agrees so he can become an underboss in the organization. Neither plan for love nor do they have any romantic entanglements before marrying. It took time for them to grow together and learn to know one another-more than just their bodies. In this respect the book felt a little rushed for me to believe these two are suddenly so deep in love. Much of the time we see them together is when their having sex and I really wish I felt they got out of the lust phase and actually fell in love. There are quite a few time jumps but personally I feel like that’s where a lot of the development could have taken place and without it I felt like I was teetering a bit. Sure I can believe them being in love happens over time but it just felt out of nowhere on her part and a little maddening on his as he was so adamant against being able to love it was beyond frustrating. Not to mention it only took two attempts on her life and being kidnapped for him to realize what she meant to him. I think I just never warmed to Rome after his shitty attitude, cruel words and harsh nature. While he was obsessed with Holly and extremely possessive, it didn’t come off as sexy like the previous two heroes behaviors and words did. For a bit of time early on Holly became a shell of herself being treated like a thing rather than his wife. Sure he had respect for her and really did want to protect her but to be two different men to her depending on if there were others present is pretty unacceptable to me. Is it odd that I finally started liking him when that non feeling killer inside of him came out to seek vengeance? I mean in my defense everyone talked about how scary he was, I just wanted a demonstration. (If I’m being honest, he’s harsh but damn if McKenna and Melissa weren’t the real crazies here. Note: mess with their family & prepare to quite literally be scalped 😵😵
There was a decent amount of action in the book and sadly some characters do die. What’s this series without one, two or even three shootouts? I feel like it’s been long enough since I read the last two books that these deaths didn’t affect me as deeply as they normally would have as I was disconnected from the characters and didn’t really remember them. Not to prepare yourself if you’re binging these….
This time around the end (I’m hoping) set up two or even possibly three future storylines and I’m living for them all. First is Holly’s father who is very unhappily married to a demon spawn that makes everyone’s lives miserable. We learn she’s only been allowed to remain alive because of some leverage she holds over his head. She persists in being an utter piece of shit throughout the book and when I finally heard holly's dad had a girlfriend and was happy I should have known this B would mess it up. I smell heartbreak, drama and a story I need. Hollys cousin Jade is also thrown in prison for manslaughter for a crime she may or may not have even committed. All I know is the little I learned about her the more I wanted…. Lastly was Dante and Romero’s brother Alessio who I really kinda hated on throughout the book. I’m still not sure where I stand on his character. Hearing about him being in love with a Russian assassin who he cheated on with a skank and caused her to run has me feeling a whole lot of ways including vindictive as I can only imagine the pain she will inflict on him, what can I say I’m here for it. This story was good but I’m definitely looking forward to whoever and whatever’s next for this crazy cast of characters.

Fragile Union is book 3 in the Made series and is even better than the previous book. This is Holly and Romero’s story. Their marriage is a Union forged through business. The Italian and Irish mafia families will be even more bonded and protected. Although Holly falls In love with Romero early on, she knows he will never love her. He doesn’t believe in it, but vows to make the marriage work.
I loved their partnership and strong friendship they had from the beginning. It was great to see that grow throughout the story. The villains in fragile Union are very nasty and I rooted for their comeuppance in a big way. This book is very well written and a fabulous read. Highly recommended

Holly and Romero’s story was amazing!

This is the third book in the Made Series. I have to say, I’ve loved each and every one of these books. I’m definitely adding them to my re-read pile.

Holly and Rome make quite a pair. Their story was full of drama, action, suspense and emotional moments. Even though it’s an arranged marriage, I thought they were made for each other. I knew Rome was badass, but Holly was something else. Her antics had me laughing so hard.

3STARS.
This is the 3rd book in the series and can be read as a standalone, but I think it is better if it is read in order because I read this one first and during the initial part the story is very fast-paced, I think a little intro has been given in the other books before this.
The plot was interesting, with females holding high positions in the mafia which is contrary to the cliche. Also, I liked the character of Kenna, so I'm definitely going to read her book.
One thing that didn't sit well with me was that one day, holly is all sweet and shy and the next day she is all badass, which was definitely fun to read but there was no back story, hoping to find one when I read the other books.
