Don’t come looking for trouble… because it will find you
Maddy has been called a rebel and a troublemaker her entire life. Struggling to find her way in life under the watchful eyes of the domineering men in her family, she's known for taking risks.
Lou is back from twenty years of active duty. It left visible and invisible scars but honed his skills and sharpened his ingrained instinct to protect the weaker. On his return, he's prepared for Peaceful to be changed but he isn't prepared to meet his childhood best friend or how she makes his cock harden and his palm itch. His baby girl will rebel against him at every turn, but he's determined to keep her safe, well-satiated and her bottom thoroughly blistered so she has no choice but to accept him as her Daddy Dom.
Don't miss this friends-to-lovers small-town romance with a swoon-worthy Daddy Dom in uniform and a doctor who fought for her independence all her life. Although Finding Trouble is a complete romance novel we advise starting this series by reading Delving Deep first.
Karen Nappa is an Amazon bestselling author of Seasoned BDSM romance with HEA. Her books are available at the popular retailers and include series such as the Club Indigo series and The Quinn Quartet.
Immersed in the D/s lifestyle herself, she writes realistic albeit romantic stories. When not dominated by her cats or her Master (in that order—even if it earns her a spanking!), she loves going places to discover the stories waiting to be written.
She resides in the Netherlands with her dominant husband, two adult-ish sons—and whoever they might drag home with them—and, of course, her two Chausie cats. If she isn’t writing or texting with friends, she’s probably reading, running, or listening to heavy metal.
Welcome back to Peaceful, where life is véry interesting. More than you’d expect from a small town like that, but with a family like the Quinn’s living there,it’s bound to be! This time,it’s Maddy’s story. The little troublemaker of the family. When asked, she’s going to deny it,but it ís a fact that she seems to attract trouble wherever she goes.... But Lou,her friend ever since they were kids,is determined to make sure she’s going to be a good girl. More to the point,he plans to make her his good little girl. Only with everything that’s happening in Peaceful,it’s going to be a challenge, that’s for sure! Not to mention her overprotective brothers, that are determined to keep them apart.... Good thing this Daddy knows how to convince his little girl they were meant to be together. He is the one person that can keep her out of trouble, and cherish her. Making sure she doesn’t run off to investigate problems on her own. It helps that he is Peaceful’s deputy....With trouble brewing, and people’s health at stake, they’re going to have their hands full!
I love how Lou coaxes out Maddy’s little! How he even manages to convince her overbearing brothers that he is the man for their little sister. And i love how Maddy stands up for herself towards them, showing them she is the one to determine how to live her life! How she trusts Lou to care for her little.
I dó worry about what’s going on in Peaceful, and i hope to learn more in Standing Fast....
Book two in the series brings Maddy and Lou's story. The author brings strong characters and a second chance romance. Best friends in childhood and now twenty years later they have a second chance at the happiness together that they were denied in the past. She does a great job building the story and keeping you guessing with the on going mystery. It's well written ,moves fluidly and is a great read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

I voluntarily reviewed Finding Trouble (The Quinn Quartet) by Karen Nappa after receiving a free ARC. I have read the prequel book 0.5 Healing Jacob’s Heart (short read), book one Delving Deep, book 1.5 Lou’s Discovery (short read) and then of course book two Finding Trouble. Each book is a segue into the next book so if you’re not one for cliffhangers then this series is not for you. Although, I will say that you are absolutely depriving yourself of some great reads like The Quinn Quartet series. I most definitely anxiously await the remaining two books left in the series and everything in between. I just love that Mrs. Nappa provides us with golden nugget short stories of other characters that are presented in-between books. Karen Nappa does not disappoint and you won’t regret reading the series. What’s most important that I feel I must add, Nappa provides you with an in-depth education on BDSM by way of her exceptional storytelling that leaves you with your mouth dropping in shock, curiosity, intrigue, understanding, and ultimate respect.
I was a bit perplexed by the favored sexual role play of Maddie and Lou which was a bit unappealing to me. I held my judgement because I hadn’t read book 1.5 Lou’s Discovery and I wished I had prior to diving into book 2 Finding Trouble. Lou’s Discovery explained his BDSM journey, variety, and sexual preference in a careful but soft approach that brings clarity and understanding thereby eliminating negative judgement. Don’t jump ahead like I did or you too will find yourself in the same predicament.
Maddie is a doctor who has taken over her fathers medical clinic. She is rambunctious, sassy, has 3 over-protective older brothers, a people pleaser, and always seeking approval from her family. Lou is a retired military alpha-male who is affectionate, devoted, caring, loving and who longs to find a companion with equal desires to share a beautiful connection with. Lou wants nothing more than to explore his long time feelings for Maddie who was his childhood best friend until he left for the military. Maddie can no longer ignore the magnetic sexual pull and deep seated feelings she has for Lou. Together they share a passionate and intimate connection that binds them as one.
I have rated this book a 4.0 stars and HIGHLY RECOMMEND–MUST READ!!!
This latest installment of the Quinn family saga picks up very close to where the last one left off. This time Madeline, the youngest Quinn sibling, is our focus along with her relationship with her childhood best friend, Lou. I loved seeing this pair rediscover their friendship after so long apart. Because this pair had been holy terrors together as children, it was easy to see the connection between them, and believe in the deepening feelings they have for one another. I also really enjoyed the slow, gentle way Lou introduced Maddie to the aspects of the Lifestyle he preferred, and that “ahah!” moment as it clicked together in Maddie’s head that this might be the missing piece to allow her to share her burdens. I wasn’t a fan of the final punishment scene shown in the book but that’s more on me than anything in the story. Maddie is reminded that she has a safeword and she didn’t feel the need to use it, so, as I said, it’s all my own baggage. Maddie and Lou are able to uncover another piece of the mystery surrounding Peaceful, but we still don’t have the full picture of the puzzle. Now, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book to find out more. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the authors through StoryOrigin.
I received an ARC of this book and am excited to share this review with you. I am a serious fan of Karen Nappa. Somehow I missed the first book in this series. That being said this was a great read and the characters were well developed and the relationships were all engaging the believable...even if frustrating to each other. The sub plots within this novel were threaded in ways that only enhanced the overall read. My only caution, which would thus far be true for any of Karen Nappa's books, is that if relationships with a defined power exchange are not your desired genre give this a pass. I for one am excited for the next book and only wish it was out now. Being the realist I am I will wait as I appreciate the talent and time it must take for a book this good to be laid out and written before the publisher and then ARC readers like myself get to see it. I hope folks enjoy this couple as much as I did. A lot can be said for the Alpha brothers too.
This author has quickly become a favourite of mine for good quality, enjoyable stories. While this is officially book 2 in the Quinn Quartet, there have been a couple of short stories and prequels for some of the characters, so it feels like we're already deeply involved in their lives. I liked that the progression didn't follow the siblings by age order - life is rarely that orderly. This is Maddie's story. I really enjoyed the characters of Maddie and Lou but I have to admit to being a little underwhelmed by their chemistry. I just didn't pick up on it like I wanted to. Also, the book is probably novella length and considering the overarching story arc of the series, and the need for this couple to have their own HEA, it felt like things were crammed in to make it fit novella length. I probably would have enjoyed it more if it was allowed to be longer and a bit more relaxed.
Another Quinn! Maddy has been fighting for independence, and, running what was her father’s practice, she should not need as much hovering as she gets. Lou has been part of her life for a long time, and he’s going to make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid – or she’ll pay his price for it. Could Lou be Daddy to Maddy’s Little, with all that means? There’s a lot of heat, there’s quite a lot of fun, and we revisit that poisoned water … This is a great next story, and it is more meaningful if you’re familiar with the other Quinn stories, but they’re not essential. I didn’t want to put it down once I’d started.
Another Quinn Quartet story and this time it's Maddy's story. She stayed in Peaceful and took over for her dad. Her best friend Lou left. Now after 20 years, he's back. He's the Sheriff now and their relationship is heading in an entirely different direction than it left off. Lou has come into his own and is a Daddy Dom. Maddy doesn't realize it, but he has decided that she is his baby girl and he will love, protect and correct her from now on. Maddy's a middle aged doctor, not a little girl, right? I love these stories which started with Maddy's parents. An interracial couple in a very small town. So good.
Finding trouble is the second in Karen Nappa's Quinn Quartet, about a group of siblings with interests in BDSM falling in love in a small town.
The romance between former childhood friends Maddy and Lou seems to flow better and is much more organic than the awkward relationship between Delilah and Ross in the previous novel, but like the first one, this book suffers from pacing issues. There are definite places that could use further elaboration. Plus, the mystery storyline seems rushed and not as well integrated into the rest of the book. It's not bad, but it could have been so much better.
The second book in the Quinn Quartet was a joy to read as Madeline reunites with her childhood friend Lou Davis for after being separated for decades.. In this second chance at love, Lou a Daddy Dom gently encourages Madeline’s little to come out to the surface, but when the pressures of family threatening to keep them apart and there also never seems to be a dull moment in Peaceful with the mysterious goings that have yet to be solved, but with two more Quinn siblings to go I know I can’t wait to read the next book.
Maddie gets her HEA with Lou, after being apart for the last 20 years. Best friends growing up, her three older brothers never approved of Lou, but now they can finally see how much he loves her. The mystery that surfaced in Delving Deep is still unsolved, so while this book can stand alone, it will be better enjoyed reading the series in order.
A great book. Continues the storyline from book one with something sinister going on in town. But this time we get to see things from the perspective of Lou and Maddy and watch their romance bloom. This is becoming an interesting series to follow. I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my voluntary and honest opinion.

Small Town Submission is a four-book series, with a story arc that spreads over all the books, but each book contains a HEA for the main characters. While I’m not a huge fan of cliffhangers, I do enjoy returning to Peaceful, Ohio, and getting updates on the characters that have become dear to me.
Now to Small Town Daddy (previously Finding Trouble): First, this is an interracial relationship and contains BDSM role play — specifically age play — and it might not be your kind of book. Small Town Daddy has a friends-to-lovers trope.
Personally, I enjoyed how the romance between Madeline and Lou blossomed and the stubborn but respectful way Lou pursued Maddy. I also liked that Madeline didn’t wait for her older brothers to fall in love but ‘skipped ahead’ 😂.
As I’ve come to expect from Karen Nappa her hero and heroine are seasoned and react and act mature (well, unless of course Maddy is letting her inner child loose but that’s a given).
Meanwhile, the ongoing mystery Delilah (from Small Town Master) is trying to uncover is dragging Madeline’s friend Sapphira into Peaceful, which leads to the next installment in Small Town Submission. Time to binge-read!

This is the story of Maddy, the only Quinn daughter and Lou, her childhood friend who's come home after serving in the military for decades. Protecting his country is not all he's learned: He has also found his calling as a Daddy Dom and when Maddy's life is threatended by her investigation of mysterious illnesses among her patients, he will do anything and everything to keep her from harm. And if that includes some discipline - well. she will just have to learn to take it! Like the first book, this is page-turner and a keeper. I especially like the fact that this series obviously delves into various aspects of BDSM and look forward to finding out what kinks make the other brothers Quinn tick! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Book 2 in the Quinn Quartet finds us following the "Little Sister" Maddy. She is a strong, well educated woman who has buried herself in her career. The re-appearance of her childhood best friend is the catalyst for Maddy's personal growth. There is an underlying mystery in this series that touches all of the Quinns and their close circle of relatives and friends. While we find some closure here, we don't get all the answers....(which is a good thing!) I found the time line of this story a little jumpy. I would also have liked a little (pun intended) more of Maddy and Lou's relationship dynamics, but overall this is a good 2nd book for a planned 4 book series.
Further investigation 4.5 This is the story of Lou and Maddy, Ross's sister (from the first book of the series). There is always the BDSM touch, in initiation, while keeping a tender romance in a story that always takes place in a corner of America a bit misogynist and racist, which complicates the exercise of Maddy who is a doctor, and who discovers disturbing disorders with her patients, while attacks continue in this usually calm town. The association of Lou, who is the sheriff and Maddy the doctor, reopens the investigation in this second volume. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I’ll be really honest, there are several elements within this book that left me very uncomfortable BUT I can admit that that is due to my own preferences, not the authors’ skill.
The story was dual POV, well written, and handled the complex nature of multiple carry over elements deftly. I enjoyed how the characters were satisfied with their relationship and what they were creating. I also enjoyed how the overarching plot is being built and look forward to the next instalment of that.
I received an advanced reader copy and this is my honest review.
Madeline and Lou were friends when they were young. Now, 20 years later, Lou is determined that they will be together this time. Madeline has spent her life being a people pleaser, now Lou wants to put her first. Maddy has trouble with the concept, but she wants the love that he can give her. We also continue the mystery of the what and who is poisoning the people of Peaceful. I enjoyed this next installment of the Quinn Quartet and the sneak peek into the next book which features one of the twins. I highly recommend this story.
As I started reading the Quinn Quartet with the latest book, I liked the book so much that I delved happily into Finding Trouble and I was not disappointed.
This book is about childhood friends meeting again after two decades. Lou is back from duty and intends to stay. When Maddy and Lou meet again I felt the chemistry was combustive. It is a couple that is simply made for each other and I am so happy that they got their HEA. I was so engrossed in the wonderfully written book that I read it in one sitting. Love this series!

The Plot Thinkens… This is Madeline and her childhood friend Lou Davis’ story. There’s new nuances to the intriguing situation going on in Peaceful, but the focus of this story is on Maddie and Lou’s Daddy Dom - little girl relationship. There’s definitely plenty of hurtles, but all well that ends well. As the plot thickens, the books keep up the heat!
The Daddy Dom theme is not really a story I would normally follow, but the series grabbed my interest with the first book and I wanted to know more about the characters. The author did a good job explaining the lifestyle, developing the romance, but keeping the "Little" aspect to a minimum.
Each book focuses on a different couple, but the backstory of illegal mining is continued in Finding Trouble. I don't believe having not read the first book would take away from keeping up with the story.
Finding Trouble is the second novella in The Quinn Quartet but when you buy the paperback, you get Lou’s Discovery (the Quinn Quartet 1.5), which is a prequel to this book. While not necessary to read to understand Finding Trouble or the overall story arc, it gives more insight into Lou’s personality and I enjoyed him more for it. My full review will be on my Wix blog.
