I really enjoyed With This Click, I Thee Wed! It’s a unique take and different from the typical romance story, yet it still has great romance and a wonderful happily ever after. I would love to read more in this series.

My friend, De'Siree chose this book to read and I loved the cover, so I decided to read it. It was an adorable book! A modern-day mail order bride. (If I had ever answered one of these ads I would have found myself a guest of a 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre.' ) But for Rachel it's a sweet, hot guy in the woods.
Poor Rachel is fleeing from terrible parents, jerky ex and a crappy home town. Every time she dealt with her parents I just shook my head.
Anyway, cute wee story, but I would have liked a bit more character development for Logan. 😊

Really terrible. I would describe this as a novella instead of a full book (also, I read this on my Nook and there is no ISBN in the copy so I'm not bothering to make a new edition). The story proper started on page 5, and ended on page 120 with a ridiculous epilogue that was completely unnecessary and tries to set up the next book in the series.

The characters are shallow and poorly drawn: the protagonists are very, very good and the villains are horrid. Rachel has zero spine, having recently (?) divorced her emotionally/mentally abusive cheating husband, and she moved in with her parents who are also emotionally and mentally abusive to her. They belittle her as a person, provide her no emotional support, and end up . Rachel is apparently a professional organizer, though we don't see her do much of that until she gets to Logan's place. How in the world did her clients wait around for her while she wallowed at her parents' house? I don't have any sense of who Rachel is as a person, only who she is as defined by her parents' treatment of her and her image of herself in reaction to her ex-husband.

Logan is even more opaque as a character. He is currently a rancher, trying to keep his inheritance up and running, but it's not what he originally chose. We are never shown much about the ranch itself: does he have cattle? Are there crops? We know there are pigs, because he finds them under Rachel's Jeep. So what does he spend all damn day doing outside, for months?

Their relationship frustrated the hell out of me as well, because they just didn't talk to each other. I understand you are strangers, but both of you though that marrying a stranger through the internet was a good idea, so maybe you could try to make a go of it? Talk to each other? Logan, maybe you could come inside from the barn and talk to your damn wife? Rachel, stop making assumptions and cringing, and stand in front of him for a conversation.

The fact that I spent this much time on this review tells you how much it bothered me.

A great story but not quite finished....

I really liked the premise of this book. The storyline was intriguing and unique, and while I enjoyed the book as a whole, I felt like there could have been so much more to it. I felt like the plot was rushed along with not much build-up. Although I enjoyed the end, there were things left a bit incomplete. I guess as a reader I wanted more depth to this story. Still a good read though!!

I guess I'm in the minority here but I actually found this book to be really depressing. I didn't think there was any chemistry between the main characters. No wonder they were ready to give up. Add to that, Rachel has a very dysfunctional, completely unlikeable family. As a series beginning, it gave me no desire to read any following stories.

This is the first in a new series and it puts a contemporary spin on the idea of a mail order bride. Feeling very alone and tipsy on New Year's Eve, Rachel mistakenly agrees to marry a complete stranger over the internet while spending money she doesn't have to do so. The next morning she not only realizes what she has done but also that the only way to get her money back is to complete the steps and ask for a refund in 6 months. So she packs up and heads to Washington to live on a ranch with her new husband. I can only imagine what other couples may find one another in this series but I'm looking forward to more.

1 star. Frankly, this book was pretty awful- like reading fan fiction for that reality show Married at First Sight. I have seen that show, and find it alternately amusing and horrifying so since this was a free kindle book, and I wanted something fluffy, I gave it a shot. The biggest issue with this book beyond the lack of character development was the strange and vague backstory of the main character's divorce and the implausible premise that some random dude from a small town in Ohio who cheated on his wife could somehow turn a town against his wife. And her family being so awful also felt randomly phony. The writer seems to forget that plot points and character motivation should MAKE SENSE, or the story falls flat. If she just wanted to write a storyy about online arranged marriages, she should have left out the ridiculous back story. I finished the book, and I have read worse things, but truly, this was bad writing all around. Like what I'd expect to read from a high schooler in a creative writing class. My expectations for chick lit are low to begin with, but this book failed to meet even those. Not recommended.

All alone on New Year's Eve--and after drinking too much wine--Rachel sees an ad for a website promising instant commitment. Fairly recently divorced and constantly berated by the parents she lives with, she figures she has nothing to lose. The next morning, she learns that she is now married and expected to move across the country to meet her new husband. Deciding to embrace this new adventure (and not wanting to lose her $2000 deposit), she does just that.

There is definitely an audience for this book. Sadly, that audience is not me.

The first one-third of this book was promising. Despite the occasional eye roll, I was able to suspend my disbelief. But once Rachel met her new husband Logan, everything fell flat. My literary analysis training kicked in and I started to question everything. Logan lives alone on a ranch in a home filled with clutter. He desperately needs someone to cook and clean for him. It's a good thing he now has a wife willing to do just that! This book would not stand up to a feminist reading, since Rachel immediately adopts the stereotypical housewife role without resistance. When she tries to ask if she can help with things around the ranch, Logan turns her down and she accepts it without question.

This wasn't my main issue with the book, though. For two people willing to use a website that promises immediate marriage, Rachel and Logan don't even seem interested in dating. They spend little time getting to know each other--at least on a deep level. If they can't learn to communicate in even a boyfriend/girlfriend way, how do they expect to communicate as husband and wife? A good marriage needs good communication and I fear the marriage in this book is doomed. The second two-thirds of the book really dragged for me as I waited for this couple to do or say something meaningful. They never really did, despite the perfect ending tied with a neat little bow.

I was determined to finish it, though, and managed to do so without my eyes permanently rolling out of my head. I'm glad I didn't pay for the book. I don't plan to finish the series, even if Amazon offers it to me for free.

(End parenthetical note: for an author who sells so many books, I think she may want to consider hiring a proofreader in the future. I'm willing to let proofreading errors slide in a debut, self-published novel, but not when the author also has dozens of books on the market.)

How cute this was. The concept was adorable and the chemistry was light hearted and sweet! Although the writing leaves a little something to be desired, I find that I want to read more of these! I also would have just loved it if the story was a tad bit longer, it was just far too cute

This was more of a 3.5 star read for me, but one that wasn't worth 4 stars. After reading a preview of it, I was eager to read more of the story, but it was a bit of a let down. There really isn't much of a romance here, in fact the hero and heroine spend much of their time apart! It is only through the tasks of the service that they had participated in that they got to know each other at any great depth. It was definitely a sweet story, but short and ultimately unfulfilling.

I really wanted to like this book as the premise is cute but it was so frustratingly bad that I wanted to vent. The characters had no depth and no time was spent developing any sense of chemistry between Rachel and Logan. When she arrived he basically dismisses her up to the house where she takes it upon herself to clean and cook for him. In the following weeks they basically ignore each other but she stays at home cooking, cleaning and 'organising'. The boring aspects of Rachel's day to day are described in depth, but odd attempt to have them interact is given with such fleeting detail that the romance storyline gets lost. Rachel spends all day moping about how lonely she is but she and Logan barely manage basic civilities, let alone have enough conversation to fall in love. Yet she manages to suddenly declare she has fallen for him. This is a little baffling. As is the fact that Rachel was a pathetic mess living with her parents after her divorce, then suddenly becomes an organising guru with clients emailing her work. Where were these clients in the 6 months she was moping at home struggling to get together the $3000 she spent on an online marriage and travel to new husband? What kind of empowering fresh start is it to essentially become the housekeeper for a man who barely talks to you? Why is she so intent to please him when he is barely civil to her? How are the readers supposed to get any satisfaction out of a romance where there is no romance and the characters are unlikeable? Where is the chemistry, the development of love- or even friendship!- between the characters, a sense of fun in the story? These are the questions I found myself focusing on instead of enjoying the book so I had to give up before the end. Based on the number of good reviews I wonder if the story redeems itself but I can't bring myself to finish.

Rachel is living in the Ohio small town she grew up in, divorced from rising politician Derek, and living with her parents, who at best regard her as then unwanted, unexpected third child they never intended to have. Because Derek is making this a choice between him and her, for everyone, everyone is dropping her, including her hairdresser.

But lonely and drinking on New Year's Eve, she sees an ad for a website, "ClickandWed.com," and decides to give it a try. The survey is easy and fun, and she is offered two possible matches, and chooses one... Before she realizes it, she's committed herself, clicked "I do," and spent a couple thousand dollars she doesn't really have. And the only way to get that money back is to head off to Idaho, stick it out six months, and complete the tasks assigned by the website.

Logan is a rancher, or rather, he has inherited his parents' ranch, and decided he's going to make it work and become a paying operation. He's lonely too, and he also finds the website and succumbs to its fun initial approach, and finds himself accepting Rachel when she picks him from the two matches she's offered.

But neither of them really made a sober, well-thought-out decision to do this, and they're both confused and flailing a bit. They both have debts they have to pay off or lose everything. They're both afraid of getting attached and then getting hurt if the other one isn't equally attached.

Rachel is a professional organizer, who is able to do a lot of her work remotely. Because we meet her on New Year's Eve, we don't see her at work until she's in Idaho, on Logan's ranch, and in his house filled with the antiques and collectibles his hoarder-inclined parents left behind when they died in a car crash.

Because they're both so cautious, having been burned in the past, Rachel and Logan don't start to really get to know each other until they start doing the tasks the ClickandWed service sets for them.

This is light, and fun, and I enjoyed it.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, and am reviewing it voluntarily.

Interesting premise

It started with a fun idea: a woman who gets married online because it's an escape from her present life but oh, the characters were just horrid!

I liked Logan. He was a sweet guy. And most of the time I liked Rachel too. I wished she had a little more backbone and had done more to stand up for herself against her parents, her ex and everyone in her hometown.

When she finally stood up for herself, I felt like it wasn't enough. I felt like there needed to have been more of a confrontation. Still, I have to admit the story kept my attention because I had to read it to see how it ended.

I believe this is my first read by Bonnie Sweets.

This boxset is a lot of fun and a fairly quick read, mostly because I didn't want to put it down. I wanted to find out what happened with the couples next.

These are all arranged real marriages, but kind with a fake marriage feel at the beginning because the couples meet as strangers.

I enjoyed all three of the stories, but Alex's might be my favorite.

Despite all these couples being married, all that's shared between them are a few swoony kisses. A clean read.

Oh, dear

I loved the premise and I liked the characters well enough*, but the work was so sloppily executed, I can't recomend it to anyone. From the grammar, punctuation and word-choice errors to the weak storytelling, the book screamed either "didn't try" or "lacked the skill".

If I had to guess, I'd say that the author had a really great idea in her head, but she failed to translate that to the page.

*SHE started off really weak and annoying, but one thing the author conveyed clearly was her growth. HE was seen only through HER eyes, but he had few obvious flaws.

I have a new addiction. The ClickandWed.com series is unusual, quirky, entertaining and full of heart and emotion.

Bonnie R. Paulson is a new-to-me author and the first book I purchased was via BN a while ago, but I didn’t read it right away. I have to warn you that they now can only be found and read via a Kindle. This is the first time I’ve appreciated the fact that I bought a Kindle because this series is AMAZING! I really want other romance readers to be able to relish the simple joy of reading not only, With This Click, I Thee Wed, but all of them. I wanted to make sure you knew where to find them.

This first book is an awesome setup for the whole series. The author grabbed me by the heartstrings when I met Rachel. Do you remember that feeling of empathy you had for Cinderella because the stepmother doted on her own daughters and derided and denigrated Cinderella? Everything she did, even if it was right, even when she tried her hardest, would never, ever be correct or perfect in the eyes of her stepfamily? That is how I felt about Rachel. I hurt for her. She was a wonderful heroine who had a bad marriage with a real stinker of a fellow. Then there are her parents. The only thing I’m going to say about them is that they make the wicked stepmother in Cinderella look like she’s a cranky sourpuss. What they do and say and finally what is revealed about the depths and lengths of their unparent-like behavior truly astounded me. Ms. Paulson made me gape like a fish when Rachel discovered the facts. This is one of the most effective conflicts a story could have.

Now for the good stuff. The romance. Of course, it was rocky in the beginning. Again, I reference Cinderella. But, wait for it because Logan, though a bit scattered in the beginning, turns out to be a handsome prince of a guy. He has a dream, he has hopes and he’s lonely too. He loved his parents, and he misses them. They were taken away too soon but they left him a goal, a gorgeous ranch and a house full of stuff. He’s a hard worker, and he’s respectful and supportive of Rachel. The way the author describes their interactions, dialogue and how they look at each other was perfect for building their friendship, their relationship and what will lead to their falling in true love. What helps everything along is all the steps that they have to do through the ClickandWed app. It’s a serious business and it forces the two to work together to learn about each other as they grow as a couple. It’s really a clever plot technique and the author applied it effectively and successfully.

Oh, I forgot to mention that this story is told from Rachel’s point of view. The author handled it well and it never felt awkward nor were there any mistakes or info dumps. I enjoyed the whole tale. Well, except for the stress parts of emotional drama. Again, that refers to her snake of an ex and what new tricks he was trying to pull. It of course, caused some serious bumps in the fledgling relationship but I also appreciated the skill the author applied in making sure this story didn’t get tripped up with its drama. It propelled the relationship to grow, mature and tested their commitment to each other. I think that’s another reason why I liked this story so much. Any time I felt it was falling into a trope trap, the author surprised me with the perfect resolution and solution. I never felt anything was contrived. It felt natural and engaging.

I know I’m not doing this book justice. The book is sweet and heartfelt, it’s very character driven with a hero and heroine I really liked. I enjoyed watching Rachel find her wings and fly, and Logan was right there with her. And when I say Rachel comes into her own, I’m downplaying just how marvelously clever it all came about. I had so much fun reading about it!

The epilogue is a tiny story in itself, a perfect hook. Colin Davis is the creator of ClickandWed and she already has identified the next client who needs a happy ever after. Just the way it was written guaranteed that I would want it too, and that means I need to read the next book.

With This Click, I Thee Wed is simply wonderful. It gives a reader a well-rounded romance where the couple is the focus. There’s gentle humor, tender emotion and a boatload of reasons why this story gave me the ‘feels’ especially when Rachel and Logan get everything they thought they’d never have – love.

Great clean story!

Fantastic story that's clean of sex and swearing!

I like the premise of email order bride. The author does a good job setting up why Rachel has to escape, but I'm unclear as to why Logan (attractive, kind, hard working) can't find his own bride.

This author gets depression. Rachel is in it, deep, at the beginning of the book, and works throughout the book to get rid of detrimental thinking patterns. She has years ahead of her to overcome what her parents and Derek have subjected her to, but she's on her way.

Usually I like history with my characters, but Rachel didn't need much because we got to watch her parents interact with her. As soon as she moves away from that town, she starts becoming her own person. I don't understand what her business was, why she couldn't do it after her divorce, and why she had continuing clients while in Idaho.

Logan is a flat character. He has very little history, we have no idea what he was doing professionally before moving home, and he has no struggles or growth in the story. The story is all told from Rachel's point of view.

Overall, I enjoyed the story.

Do I need to read books before this one: no
Would I read more of the series: yes!
Cliffhanger: no

This isn't a great story but I still enjoyed it. Guilty pleasure? It doesn't seem terribly plausible. I think perhaps I have had a sheltered life but I just can't imagine having a family that horrible to begin with but why would you turn to that family in your time of greatest trauma? She knows her family doesn't love her, has never been able to rely on them, they are not supportive and are in fact abusive. Why would you trust them to handle your legal situation instead of getting the professional help you need. And how could her abusive, lying, cheating, ex manage to turn an entire town against her? So many things that just don't make sense to me.

I liked the main characters though, trying to make the best of the hand they've been dealt. They don't handle it well but try anyway. They could have made their lives easier by communicating with each other. I mean if you marry someone you don't know, why wouldn't you try to get to know each other? Just talk to each other already.

Sometimes I don't really like books with multiple points of view but this time I was frustrated that I wasn't getting Logan's point of view at all. I would have loved to know what was going on with him. I wished we could spend more time with him then we actually got to.

Even though I found some aspects frustrating I still enjoyed the story. I hope the writing will improve with other books in the series.

If you are feeling down, this is not the book for you. If you are feeling depressed, after reading chapter 1, you will be feeling so bad, so very bad, you will be feeling suicidal. I had this on talking book and the reader was awful and droned on making it even more awfully depressing. I'm surprised the main character didn't at least cry every minute and buy sleeping pills in case she wanted to finish the story early.

This promised a fun book and it wasn't. It had a good concept which just wasn't delivered. Our hero girl was a complainer and her high priority was a dish washer and pancake mix as she had no idea how to make pancakes with flour and eggs. Logan the Hero was a strange, shut-in with a weird sense of humour - he kept winking? And was frightened to talk to his new wife, yet had previously had a high powered job in the city? He was greatly judgemental when she omitted parts of her previous life, and didn't bother to help her, or ask, when she was getting sued by her ex. I think the author had no idea who our Hero was and hadn't bothered to think beyond the fact he was good looking. Our Hero is weak, and not there for most of the story, which is so disappointing. There is no sex either. Well, how could there be if he's not home for most of the story.

I hope that the author listens, takes the feedback onboard and fixes the problems in the next books, especially as the story had a lot of potential.

It was eh. So this review will contain spoilers. My biggest problem overall was it was all from 1 POV. It got boring fast. There were many times throughout the story I wanted to know Logan's POV, it would have fit in perfectly, it got really boring just having Rachels POV. My other problem was, now i liked the concept but the questionnaire. All they get is a name and picture? i think realistically it should provide more information, because while this is the characters interacting, your also providing information to the reader, which lets be fair in this case was very little.. But anyway Lets start with Rachel the character in general was ok, but the characters surrounding her was not. Her parents hated her and her ex had everyone in town choosing a side? That was just ridiculous. Especially since they all chose him. What the story needed was a best friend to get drunk with to do all the wedding stuff with, it REALLY lacked that. My biggest issue was the whole parents betrayal at the end it just didn't make sense and was stupid.
My biggest problem with Logan was he sounded like a kid. I kept trying to picture him and i just kept thinking of some kid just out of school, Im not sure if this was deliberate. it didn't give ages but yeah he was very sweet/cute and almost perfect but just a kid.

I thought this book was a rom/com and while there are a few funny lines it is a very well-written story of mistakes, betrayal and finding true love. Rachel is the black sheep of her family and after her divorce from the town asshat, she becomes a pariah in her small town. A drunken one click on New Year's Eve send her into an internet marriage to a man halfway across the country. Logan is a hunky rancher, who is trying desperately to save his family ranch, and their story is unique. I like the premise of this series and want to read or listen to more.
Each client has six months to be married to their chosen match. Tasks must be completed along the way. If they follow the rules and it doesn't work out their money is returned. Sounds easy, right? For Logan and Rachel, not so much. Ms. Paulson does a great job of pulling out Rachel's emotions and fears. When she realizes that she has six months to make or break this marriage, she tries to protect her heart but falls for her husband. However, when she finds how deep the betrayal of her husband goes and to what lengths he'll go to ruin her life, she fights back. This is a quick, sweet read with an HEA and I'd love to read more by this author.

Too fast paced for me. The romance aspect seemed very forced and unnatural. There was no chemistry between the couple. Also I would like to see our female lead having a final conversation with her ex as a catharsis. It would be really satisfying, but we never got it. We also never learn much about our MC's secret and why the MC's parents treat her so badly. Is there a specific reason? Did something happen during her childhood years?
Generally the book seems at times plotless, there are a lot of gaps and questions left unanswered. Also, the end was not very satisfying for me. As I already said it seemed too rushed, the book could have been at least 30-50 pages longer. Usually in these books the male lead is the one I really really like. In this case, there were not many things to like, because there was not enough time for his character to evolve. Again many questions left unanswered and not enough information to grasp what's going on. I mean how did they go from just meeting to falling in love in only a few months??? There were no intimate scenes, kisses, sentimentalities whatsoever. It was a really bad romance, in my opinion.
Overall, it is a good and light book to read and pass time, but not something amazing. I would call it an ordinary, average book!

This is a clean and sweet contemporary comedy. I giggled through out the story. Rachel is a young woman who feels like life has just beaten her up in so many ways. She makes a funny mistake one News Years Eve. But she is the type of lady who will follow through on her word. So, she heads to Idaho to meet her new husband sight unseen. Logan is a man who is lonely and decides to put his name in the Click and Wed website. He is working on his parents farm trying to make a go of it. He is a sexy man that is oblivious to it. This makes for a lot of giggles reading how Rachel reacts to seeing him a couple of times with his shirt off. Giggle. Things are a bit bumpy at first, then the bumps get bigger. At times I just wanted to shake Rachel and tell her to “just go talk to Logan” but all of this provided lots of giggles and fun. She has a gift that she uses to help Logan out. And her parents are just a sad piece of “work”. This is a fun short story that you will enjoy. Come read and see how these two help each other in their new marriage. Oh and the ending is just a big “AWWWWWW” I loved it and look forward to reading book 2
