A bit outdated but I like Jeff’s style a lot. Also, it is never bad to learn about the evolution of routing protocols and the insights of somebody who was right there.

If you just want to pass the exam as soon as possible with minimal effort, look elsewhere.

Excellent case studies! Only request would be to put RFC numbers at the back of each chapter for reference rather then in the reading. Also I would like if all the talk of what is to come in other chapters is just left out. I feel like it just fills space and overwhelms the reader.
Thanks Jeff!

I was working on a project using OSPF extensions and source code changes to Zebra (linux routing application): chapter 8 is where I found all the background I needed on the protocol.

Good companion for surviving my entry level network job in the past. Can't recommend enough official Cisco materials for the aspiring network professionals out there.

Great reference to regarding IGPs. Took off 1 star because the examples use an old version of IOS (11.3) and there is some focus on old protocols like IGRP. However still recommend it as a resource for protocol theory.
