It Started with Oranges
This was definitely a cute, feel good, easy read. Sam and Maeve have known each other for a while. Circumstances have allowed a shift in their relationship. I love how they let go when they finally cross the line.
I do prefer on-screen private times but the fade out worked. I look forward to reading more of the connected characters. 😘

Short, fun, sexy and cute little novella about two bar owners in London.
Maeve was a supporting character in a previous book (which I haven't read yet). She was also the co-owner, now sole owner of The Magpie. Sam is a friend of her previous partner of The Magpie. They've been only friends since he was a taken man and totally off limits. But their friendship is easy breezy and they just get each other. When they both end up at the same event, they are set up next to each other and they make a deal to be each other's dates for a few events they both have coming up.
Lauren Blakely proves that she can write novellas and still make you invested in the characters. I kind of wish we got a little more since these two had a fun and easy chemistry. It felt like we were just getting started. But this book definitely sets up Maeve's friend's story and I'll be interested to see where that one goes.
For a fast read that would be a good palate cleanser in between reads, this book has some flirty and fun banter that hits the right notes. Just wish we had more.

Three Dates with You is a short story by Lauren Blakely. You can read it as standalone or read it after A Guy Walks into My Bar. That is where I met Maeve (Dean’s best friend/business partner) and Sam (Dean’s American friend). I loved these two in Dean and Fitz’s book and I was so happy that they got their own story! They are both busy bar owners and have been around each other over the years but Sam was the unavailable hottie. He has now been divorced for months but they are still so busy running their businesses. Neither of them knew if the other was even interested but when an even comes up, it’s clear with their flirting that there is something brewing between them! Yum!!
Thank you, Lauren for giving us more! These two are so much fun, flirty, and dirty.

Super short story. Cute and no angst…

Although it is a short novella, It was extremely confusing because all the characters were part of other book that i have not read. Because of it, it was super hard following up with the characters and there wasn't any part of the story that made me happy or excited for what it was coming. Unfortunately, the whole plot was boring and predictable.

A short novella that needs more character development and some work on the spices that are definitely lacking in the bedroom. Paint a picture, don't leave it blank for the reader to figure out! A little more passion in the sexual suspense would have gone a long way toward holding my interest too. I will say that the story is cute, but definitely not hot.

It was okay. Not really much to it...other than sex. Two people who had been friends for a while. He had been married, recently divorced. She had been dating all the wrong men. Meet up for a date, then two and...then immediately fall into bed. Ends in them dating.

My rating: 3 stars, simply because I wanted to know if the romance survived long-term. The story ended soon after they got together.
I liked Maeve and Sam, and thought they were good together. I just wanted to know if their relationship lasted, since the story just had a happy for now ending.
My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

Short, sweet, and sexy, Three Dates With You is a truly fun little read. Lauren Blakely shows that no matter the length of a story, she's able to draw you in right from the very first lines with witty banter and smart characters. A friends-to-more novella, Maeve is someone we met in A Guy Walks Into My Bar as she is now the sole owner of The Magpie since Dean moved to the U.S. to be with the love of his life, Fitz. Overworked but loving every minute, her time is precious but even she can take a break or 3 when her good friend Sam seems to be over his recent divorce and ready to take that chance with this wonderful bar owner.
Their time together is touching and playful but you can most definitely feel the heat between them with every turn of the page. The way they look at one another is enough to make any e-reader combust and I was very happy they took the chance to get to know each other in a more intimate way.
As a set-up for a future book featuring Maeve's bestie, this was a great respite from more involved reads but was no less compelling.
4 solid stars!

3 Dates With You
is a quick short Friends to Lovers novella about Maeve and Sam, told solely through Maeve’s perspective.
This short and sweet fast paced story follows two bar owners based in London, Maeve and Sam, whose friendship slowly begins to change during the period of them being in each other’s presence. Whether it be due to work or helping one another out by being there for the other as a date for events. It leads to the progress of their feelings into much more, ultimately resulting in Maeve and Sam falling for one another, all over the course of 3 dates.
Whilst I did enjoy the story overall, I did wish it had been longer to see their relationship fully develop in deeper depth with seeing whether it would've lasted long enough to have a proper and real HEA they deserved.
Other than that, I still enjoyed it. So if you are looking for a quick read, that is cute, sweet and sexy then look no further because 3 Dates With You by Lauren Blakely is it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Novella by Lauren Blakely. There was a lot of past information afforded in this short novella. Three dates is all it takes when the dates are with a man you’ve had a crush on for several years. He was off the market and is suddenly back on again. After making mistakes men she gets involved with, the h had decided to finally take a chance on love. The H seems to fit everything the h wants in her man. Need to read the book to get info on both H & h. I would actually recommend this book to anyone looking for a sensual book to read, as well as the build up to love. As part of a series, surely we will learn other back story. The book was well written. I didn’t notice any grammatical errors that caused a break in the flow of the reading. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

A very fast paced read staring Maeve the now owner of the Magpie bar that she once co owned with Dean one of the stars of "A Guy Walks Into My Bar. Maeve is also friends with Sam the owner of Sticks and Stones another bar. She knows him through Dean. Well Sam seems to be interested in Maeve and the three decide to be each others plus one to events they each have coming up. The attraction is quick and with in three dates both seem to come to the same conclusion. What they have is worth taking their friendship to the next level. I loved how Dean made an appearance via text and phone when catching up with Maeve. We also get to see an appearance from Sierra the sister of Grant from the Men Of Summer Trilogy. A fun read packed into the perfect novella.

They strike up a close friendship and come to find there’s quite a lot they have in common.
Given the brevity of the book, it’s moved along by their established friendship and the belief that it doesn’t the have to be complicated to go from friends to lovers.
So, if you’re looking for a palette cleanser and want a confirmed HEA, this is definitely the novella for you.

This is a cute novella about two friends. The guy is now divorced so is free. They both own bars. If course she is always being hit on and is really good at getting rid of them. When her friend walks into her bar he is flirting with her--but they are just friends aren't they? It takes a bit but he does not give up. She just can't make up her mind------even though everything about him tells her to go for it--she holds back. Then come the dates which aren't really dates---

This is a beautiful love story! I was super excited to see Lauren has come out with a novella. It's about friends turn into lovers. Maeve is a amazing woman! Sam is such a sweetheart! I love these two together.The book is a quick read but it give you all the feels! The writing was done beautifully as always from Lauren. When I finished reading this I did not want it to end! Good easy read

An Enjoyable Read
A cute story. Short but perfectly formed. Shorts often leave me feeling short changed, so to speak but in this we got to know the characters and their emotions and see their relationship develop quickly.
