Jameson Force Security #10

Code Name: Revenge

Rate this book
When Kynan McGrath approached me about joining Jameson Force Security, I jumped at the chance. Just call me Dozer Burney, one half of the genius duo who keeps the team at the forefront of security technology. The move from NASA to Jameson also put me back on the east coast, closer to those who mean the most to me.

Jessica Anderson has been my best friend since college. A single mom who found herself mixed up with a dangerous man years ago, she’s been living a safe, quiet life in Miami after helping police put him behind bars. We both knew her safety, and that of her daughter, was reliant on him staying locked up. So when I see an alert that he’s escaped from his maximum security prison, I know where he’s heading to exact his revenge.

Now it’s a race against time to get to Jessica before he does.

Protecting her with my life is easy, because there’s one thing I’ve never admitted to anyone, not even myself—I have been in love with Jessica Anderson since the day I met her. And if we both make it out alive, I’ll make sure she knows it every day for the rest of our lives.

Another exciting + adorable suspense love story in this great series!
We've been waiting to hear Dozer's story and here it is.
He's always been in love with Jessica - even back when she dated the father of her daughter. Now could finally be the time to tell her about his feelings. But they have more important things to do - like trying to stay alive.
I really enjoyed reading it. It wasn't a very long book, but it had everything we need in a great romantic suspense story: romance, danger, a cute kid, great co-workers and friends... I loved that Dozer got close to his dad again - he was a fun character. I wouldn't mind getting a spin-off series for him and whatever it is that he does to make money!

And now we can't wait to get the final story... Kellen and his dog Omega! GIMME!

This could be a really great TV Show! Come get it Netflix!

One thing bothered me a tiny bit - or rather it might bother readers who haven't read other books in this series. The first chapter is just Dozer at a wedding of a previous books' couple telling us about all the other couples in the series - how they met or what their status is et cetera. And I think it should've been an epilogue in the previous book or ... no idea. But it didn't really belong here.

CODE NAME: REVENGE was another adorable + dangerous + cute + sweet + exciting romantic suspense love story in this great series! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Dozer - this one is mine!

With her latest novel, Sawyer Bennett delivers a hooking tale served up to readers on a beautiful friends to lovers silver platter with an ample side of suspense.

When Dozer learns that a particularly dangerous convicted murderer has escaped, he’s immediately on the move to get to his best friend and the woman who helped put said felon behind bars. Dozer knows said felon is out for revenge against the woman he’s been in love with since the day he met her. But can they survive and seize the opportunity they’ve been given?

This is another incredible romantic suspense by Sawyer! I was hooked and on the edge of my seat from start to finish with Dozer and JJ’s story. Their story was unputdownable, reading it in a single sitting.

I love these full throttle stories in Sawyer’s Jameson Force Security series. Code Name: Revenge is fast paced regarding the overall plot, and just right in regards to the romance between Dozer and Jessica.

Jessica and Dozer have known each other and have been best friends since college. Jessica is a smart, sweet and caring single mother who’s always cared for Dozer. Dozer is not just a genius, he’s loyal, brave and would do anything to protect Jessica and her daughter.

Sawyer skillfully builds the tension between them in this taut suspense. I was racing through the pages, desperate to know what would happen.

Code Name: Revenge is book #9 of the Jameson Force Security series by author Sawyer Bennett. This can be perfectly read as a standalone. It is told from both points of view with a happy ending. Genre: contemporary romance, romantic suspense. Tropes: friends to lovers | single parent | ex-NASA | soulmates

I am loving this series and Dozer and Jess were a fabulous addition! I love a romantic suspense, and this certainly checked off all the boxes for me. This couple has been friends since college he has played an intricate part of her life and her daughters. When a man that Jess sent to prison with her testimony escapes, he knows that her life is in danger. Using his background and inside knowledge with the security force he wastes no time saving his girls!
Jess is living a quiet life with her daughter when Dozer shows up on her doorstep and takes matters into his own hands. She has always had a soft spot in heart for her friend and always wanted more but it never seemed like the right time. Now as they hit the road the constant togetherness may reignite more than that old friendship! Get ready for mystery, suspense, action and that slow burn between friends to take you on an adventure.

I freakin loved Dozer and Jessica, and her little girl Thea, together. Their story was a perfect Romantic Suspense, Best Friends to Lovers read which I devoured in a day.

Dozer and Jessica met in college and had a great friendship for many years, he's even Godfather to her daughter and he'd do just about anything for these two. So when he gets notification that a Russian Mobster that Jess helped lock up escaped from prison Dozer knows that he's heading to Miami to exact his revenge on her. So Dozer needs to get to JJ before anything happens...and let me tell you things get crazy once he's there.

Dozer is uber smart, like ridiculously smart, one thing he is not, is a field agent so buckle up and enjoy the ride because this HAWT NERD is going to get the girl and keep her safe from the bad guys and we have a front row seat to it all!

I absolutely loved this book and I have to say it's my favorite of the series so far and that's saying something because I have enjoyed them all. But there was just something about Dozer and JJ and her little girl Thea that grabbed my heart, I also loved his dad, James, and her mom, Claire, who played big parts in this story as well. I'd be a fool not to mention all of the Jameson Force Security team was on hand to help as well as the new guy in town Kellan who will be the next one to get his own story in CODE NAME: OMEGA
Sawyer, if you happen to read this review can I request a story about James, even if it's just a novella. Dozer's dad is an intriguing character and I think I speak for everyone who reads this book...we want to know more about him and what he does!

I would recommend this book to everyone that enjoys Steamy Romantic Suspense, Best Friends to Lovers, Single Parent Romances, or if you like HAWT Brainaics this one if for you too!

Happy Reading!!!

Heated friends to lovers romance…

Oh, this story was hot! And made me so heart-happy! Kynan and Jessica were friends. Such good friends! They were beyond comfortable with each other with her daughter loving him almost as much as she did. Did she want more? Did he? When danger knocked, they were going to put everything on the line, win or lose…

And that gamble made for a tension-filled story that ticked all the boxes. The friends to lovers angle was perfect. Inching slowly but surely towards the finishing line, with everyone winning in the end. Danger stalked them and family – both blood and work-related – stepped in, in a stunning show of support. I love the closeness of the Jameson family and it was on full display here, as they moved heaven and earth for them all.

A great series, and this is my new favourite! ~Diane, 4.5 stars

The storyline captured my interest from the first few pages, I was hooked and didn't want to put the book down.

I loved Dozer and Jessica's story. It's well written, entertaining, passionate and watching these long time friends finally give into their feelings made me one very happy reader.

Code Name: Revenge was the ninth book in the Jameson Force series by Sawyer Bennett. Although totally enjoyable, the series does not have to be read in order.

Dozier Burney was one of two masterminds within Jameson Force Security. He wasn’t trained in the field but he could hold his own and the field agents were much better off because his genius mind was at work to support them through security and technology. But when his best friend forever was in danger, he would do whatever it took to keep them safe even if it meant his life.

Jessica Anderson was a single mom and her daughter, Thea, meant the world to her. She had no idea she had gotten involved with a Russian Mafia leader. She thought he was a respected businessman until the night she overheard a phone call and realized the murders he had orchestrated. Thankfully he was safely tucked away in prison for a long time….until he wasn’t and her BFF and longtime crush showed up at her doorstep to protect her.

I totally enjoyed both characters. It was the quintessential not wanting to risk a friendship friends to lovers theme. And from that perspective, I appreciated Bennett not trying to draw it out but cut right to the chase on the relationship while simultaneously providing a suspenseful and action filled plot. I could have used more depth with the details on the suspense but was still completely entertained. And of course as expected, all of our Jameson Force team members were front and center making it even more enjoyable. Newly hired Kellen McCord is up next in Code Name: Omega!

5 star Review Code Name Revenge (Jameson Force Security #9) by Sawyer Bennett

I have always been intrigued by Dozer Burney from the first time he was introduced to the series. His story was everything I was hoping for and so much more. I knew that the woman who would tame the computer genius would need to be special and that is exactly what single mother Jessica Anderson is.

They have been best friends for years and when Dozer learns that their lives are in danger after a prisoner has escaped from prison he fears for their safety. Dozer has been in love with Jess for years, although he has never admitted it and will do what ever it takes to protect Jess and Thea.

I was on the edge of my seat whilst reading. I really loved these characters and was captivated as Sawyer Bennett wove her story; in fact I didn’t want it to end. The romance and suspense are well balanced and this was an exciting and intriguing read.

It was great to see some familiar characters make and appearance as well as the introduction of a new member of the Jameson Force Security team, Kellen and his K9 partner Omega.  I loved Thea, what a wonderful character she is and she almost stole the book from Dozer and Jess.

This book was well written, exciting to read, emotional and at times intense as Dozer is in for the fight of his life.

I think I fall in love more with each new book that comes out in this series. In each book, we still get the other characters and that makes my heart happy but there are new characters too.
Dozer is the other half of the genius duo behind the computers for Jameson Force but in this book, he is out in the field because he feels it is the only way he can protect Jessica.
Jessica and Dozer met in college and have been best friends since. He has been in love with her since he met her but he has kept that to himself. Now that her life is in danger he will tell her how he feels, that is if he survives.
When Jessica finds out the plan that Dozer has in mind, she goes off on him. It takes a lot for him to explain why he is doing what he is doing. Will she accept that he wants to protect and keep her, her daughter, and her mother safe? Will there be a future for Dozer and Jessica?
I loved Dozer, Jessica, and Thea (Jessica's daughter). They were the best of friends that could laugh together, have fun, and love as a family. But when it was time to get serious, the team at Jameson Force was behind Dozer to help because it was someone he loved even though no one knew her. That is how it works with this group and that is what I love most. I can not wait for Code Name: Omega.

Although Dozer may be more comfortable behind the computer when Jessica, his best friend and the woman he has secretly loved for years, is being threatened there is nothing he won’t do to keep her safe even if that means becoming a target.

Jessica hasn’t always made the best choices when it comes to the men in her life and her choice to do the right thing has placed her in jeopardy. She didn’t know that the man she was casually dating was actually Russian and part of the mafia and he has now escaped from jail and he wants his revenge.

Both Jessica and Dozer have been denying their feelings for each other as they don’t want to destroy the relationship that means so much to them. The threat as well as their friends and families have forced them to face their feelings for each other as they take us on a romantic and suspenseful journey.

I think of this one as a fast paced read on an afternoon. I just didn't vibe with it 100%. Felt like Dozer and Jessica got involved too fast and Granted Dozer and Jessica previously knew each other but I feel like a lot of story was missing overall because it was more telling in a conversation with other people. I'm still going on with this series.

Narrators Sean Crisden (I loved his narration), Adenrele Ojo (a few times she seemed to over due it for me, but overall good).

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I have been (impatiently) waiting for Dozer’s book, and it did not disappoint. Friends to lovers with the Russian mafia after you…what could be better? Okay, probably a lot in real life, but this book couldn’t have been better! I loved the main characters, beloved and new side characters who I fell in love with too, and edge of my seat suspense too! This series is just *chef’s kiss* perfection!

This was the book I have been waiting for and I wasn’t disappointed in Dozer’s story in fact it was everything I expected and more. If you love romantic suspense you will love Dozer and Jess’s friends to lovers journey.
Dozer and Jess have been friends for years but he believed they could never be anything more than friends. This all changed when the father of Jess’s daughter passed away but will Dozer be brave enough to risk their friendship by crossing the line.
When Jess’s life is put in danger by an escaped prisoner it’s Dozer who comes to the rescue, he is prepared to do what ever is needed to protect single mum Jess and her daughter Thea.
Sean Crisden and Adenrele Ojo are fairly new narrators to me but they did a fantastic job bring Dozer, Ness and their story to life. Looking forward to listing more from this talented duo.
It was always going to take a very special lady to tame this man and right from the first meeting, you knew Jess could be that woman. This is a captivating, sitting on the edge of your seat read, it has wonderful characters, it’s full of love, passion, danger and suspense but it was the wonderful Thea that stole the show for me. This is a wonderful read will certainly appeal to a wide range of audiences.

M/F Friends-to-Lovers Romance

Dozer is one of those men who you know is just built to protect. He has a way about him – his friends and family know that he will protect them with everything he has and is. When he finds out that his best friend from back home is in danger, he goes full tilt to make sure she and her daughter are safe. Dozer loves both Jessica and her daughter and has since he met them. But he's only ever been Jessica's friend and confidant. While he knows that he loves her more than a friend, he's never wanted to change their relationship or ruin it.

Jessica is fun, smart, dedicated, and loyal. She has known Dozer for years and her daughter has the best godfather around. Even though she knows that she helped put someone bad away, when Dozer is at her doorstep in the middle of the night, she can't help but see him as her friend and protector. She's never let herself go there because she didn't want to ruin their relationship. Dozer is too important to her.

As Dozer and Jessica navigate the danger coming for them, both will have to decide if life together might just be what they both want and need. The suspense and romance are well balanced in this story. You won't be disappointed. I have loved each of these books and I can't wait for more from Bennett.

This is the ninth book in the series, and they just are such good reads – I do recommend that you read them in order, as there are underlying plots which you might otherwise miss, but should you start here, I can bet that you will go back and enjoy the goodness anyway!

We know that Dozer is a standup guy, and he definitely deserves to get the girl – and the only girl he ever wanted, Jessica, got taken by his best friend first. But since she became a widow, he has stepped in and helped out with her daughter, Thea, and whilst they live at a distance, there is nothing he wouldn't do for them.

This story takes Dozer out of his comfort zone work-wise as he is on the team out in the field, rather than safe in his computer haven, and that adds to the tension for sure – but he does not disappoint with his heroics. After all, saving his one true love from an escaped felon is more important than his safety.

I loved the drama, the intensity, and yet also, the fun with Thea. Great shades of light and dark, moments of great passion, and then the guilt at being happy. Once Dozer and Jess had the courage to speak with each other, they recognised that their love was mutual and their dreams converged – but as two independent souls, it certainly took some dramatic change in events to get them to that point!

Another fabulous story with fun catchups with the group as a whole – such a big, accepting family, what is not to love?

Review by Trinette Dungee

Dozer Burney has been in love with Jessica Anderson since they met back in college, but when his best friend beats him to the girl, he takes a back seat. With his friend now gone and Jessica raising their daughter on her own, Dozer stepped in as her best friend and little daughter’s dotting godfather. Now Jessica’s life is in danger and it’s up to Dozer and the rest of the Jameson Force to protect her. It’s also time for Dozer to let his feelings be known.

From the moment Kylan McGrath has started building his Pittsburgh Team, we’ve known Dozer. He’s always been there in the background, but on everyone’s radar. Finally, this guy gets his story. It’s a story I’ve been waiting for, for a very long time.

I was so curious as to where Dozer’s story would go because in this series either the hero or heroine was an agent or spy, and an assignment was involved. Dozer nor Jessica is either. Dozer’s a computer-science guy, albeit a super smart NASA computer-science guy, but a computer-science guy non the less. However, Dozer made an assignment and he made it his assignment.

This was a fast-paced friend’s-to-lovers story and it worked perfectly. It didn’t need to be this long-drawn-out story of a man who lived the life of a loner and discovered he could love. Nope, we already knew Dozer had a big heart. What we didn’t know was he already had his family and his happily-ever-after was right there, he just needed the courage to go after it. He didn’t turn into this “super-saviour”. He was still Dozer. He was still the “nerdy guy”. He just happened to have a few skills and size on his side that worked when he needed to use them.

I absolutely adore Dozer. I love the way he was written. I love that even though he had an athletic background, his primary personality was that techy guy. Because of the way he’d been described in previous books, I thought it might be hard for me to picture him in a romantic setting, but it wasn’t. While he might have been a big burly type of man, he was something of a teddy bear. Other than the fear that Jessica might not return his feelings toward her, he wasn’t afraid to show his feelings when he needed to. Although he wasn’t a trained special ops guys, he had a little
knowledge, and he wasn’t afraid to use it.

I didn’t like Jessica as much as I wanted to. While I could appreciate her feeling responsible for Dozer and the Jameson crew being put in the position they were in and her desire to be by Dozer's side, I felt like she was a bit selfish. For a woman who had a little girl to think about, some of her actions were a bit to rash. I think the two of them had amazing chemistry though.

As usual the Jameson crew rallies around their own and it was great to read/see familiar characters again and see where some of them have progressed in their lives. I really liked the Dozer/Bebe relationship in this book as well. Bebe is still a firecracker and she was there for her best friend without thinking twice. I even appreciated her slight jealousy/annoyance over not being made aware of Jessica’s place in Dozer’s life prior to the danger Jess was in.

In this book we also get Dozer’s backstory and his relationship with his mom who passed away and his dad, James and Jess’s mom, Claire and of course Jess’s daughter Thea who is the light of Dozer’s life. Like Jess, I wasn’t really a fan of James. I definitely did not appreciate the way he put Dozer and Jess on the spot when it came to them facing their feelings for each other. I mean, yeah it had to be done, but I didn’t like him doing it.

As I mentioned before, I love the way Dozer was written. I will admit I was a little worried, as in the writing world there’s been so much scrutiny on how black characters are portrayed when written by white authors. I love Sawyer a hundred times more for the way she wrote these characters. There was none of the “stereotypical” language/attitude that is so often used. Other than her physical description of the characters in the beginning you could imagine them to be or look however you want.

As always, we are introduced to new characters as the stories progress and in Dozer’s story, we are introduced to Kellan McCord. There are certain authors where I don’t read the blurbs/synopsis of their upcoming works if it’s a part of a series. I just know I’ve met the character at some point and often than my interest was piqued, and they’ll have a storyline. I just wait and enjoy the ride when I get their story in my hands. However, for Kellan it was mentioned that he has a girlfriend, so naturally I’m more than a little curious as to how his story’s going to go. Will he find out she’s involved in some nefarious acts? Will she leave him, and a new love interest will surface? Or does she suffer a horrible fate? Can’t wait to see where his story goes.

4.25 stars--CODE NAME: REVENGE is the ninth instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult JAMESON FORCE SECURITY erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Jameson Force Security. This is thirty one year old, single mother Jessica Anderson, and IT specialist James ‘Dozer’ Burney’s story line. CODE NAME; REVENGE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Dozer and Jessica) CODE NAME: REVENGE follows the friends to lovers relationship between single mother Jessica Anderson, and IT specialist James ‘Dozer’ Burney. Dozer, Jessica and Chase met at the University of Miami, and Dozer found himself the proverbial third wheel when Jessica and Chase started dating. A surprise pregnancy found Jessica a single mother but her friendship with Dozer never strayed but a relationship with a member of the Russian Mafia placed Jessica in the direct line of fire when our heroine became an informant against the man she was seeing. Fast forward to present day wherein said Russian has escaped prison, and has set his sights on our story line heroine. Notified of the escape, Dozer calls in the team at Jameson Force Security to protect the woman he has always loved. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Dozer and Jessica, and the potential fall-out as Dozer becomes the bait to draw out the man hoping to take down our story line heroine.

The relationship between Jessica and Dozer is a friends to lovers, friends who have loved one another from afar but never crossing the invisible line between friendship and more. Having watched his university friends brings another life into the world, Dozer never expected to find himself guardian and protector of the woman that called to his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including several of the Jameson Force Security members: Kynan and Joslyn McGrath, Bebe and Griff, Jackson, Cage, and Malik; new member Kellen McCord, as well as Jessica’s mother Claire; her daughter Thea; Russian mobster Ivan Borovsky, and Dozer’s father James Burney, a man with a questionable connection to underworld crime. Kellen’s story line is next in CODE NAME: OMEGA.

CODE NAME: REVENGE is a story of power and struggle; second chances and acceptance; family and friendships, relationships and love. The fast paced, character driven premise is intriguing and engaging; the characters are dynamic and charismatic; the romance is seductive and fated.

ARC received for an honest review

It's time for another round at Jameson Force Security.

I really have liked Dozer throughout this series, and his story did not disappoint.

One case of raging unrequited love (or is it???) has Dozer crossing country to protect his girls - swoooon.

Could this finally be the chance he has always wanted with Jess? Can he protect those he loves? Is this his HEA?d Gah, you need to read it to find out.

I loved seeing the progression of the relationships of all the Jameson "family", and there is a little heartbreaker in training in this story. Uncle Dozer doesn't stand a chance!

Whilst I am sad that this series is coming to an end with the next installment, I hope that we get more of Dozer's dad in the future. I am very intrigued to find out what her really does haha

Bring on Kellen and his pupper!!

Dozer is the computer genius behind a lot of the technology Jameson Force Security uses in their day to day operations, though he has been picking up some of the training opportunities that come from working in private security. When his best friend becomes the target of an escaped fugitive with Russian mafia ties, he rushes to Florida to protect her and her young daughter. He has been in love with her for years, but has never taken the chance to let her know how he feels, preferring to keep her in his life than risk losing her forever.

Jessica loves her life in Florida with her daughter and living close to her mom. She helped put away a member of the Russian mafia, but until he escapes from prison, she hasn’t given much thought to him since the day he went away. Now she finds herself in danger and Dozer swoops in to help. Returning to Pittsburgh with him is a temporary fix, but how long will she be able to keep secret that she has long harbored feelings for her best friend?

This was a case of hidden feelings and best friends to lovers. The danger of the situation forced both Dozer and Jessica to confront the feelings they have been hiding for so long. As they maneuvered through planning the mission to bring Jessica’s ex out of hiding, the danger of the situation really caused them to look deep.

Both of these characters were strong personalities with a lot going on in their lives. I loved Dozer from the beginning and was intrigued by his relationship with his dad. (I still have a few questions about his dad, but loved how they addressed some of the tension that had always run between them.) Jessica was smart, caring, and loyal, but there were a few times the degree to which she expressed her concern had me shaking my head at her recklessness.

This was a fun addition to the Jameson world and I loved getting to see Bebe and Griff more, as well as the rest of the team. There is a new member of the team who helps out quite a bit here and I can’t wait to see what is in store for him!

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the ninth book in the series, and they just are such good reads - I do recommend that you read them in order, as there are underlying plots which you might otherwise miss, but should you start here, I can bet that you will go back and enjoy the goodness anyway!

We know that Dozer is a standup guy, and he definitely deserves to get the girl - and the only girl he ever wanted, Jessica, got taken by his best friend first. But since she became a widow, he has stepped in and helped out with her daughter Thea and whilst they live at a distance, there is nothing he wouldn't do for them.

This story takes Dozer out of his comfort zone work-wise as he is on the team out in the field, rather than safe in his computer haven, and that adds to the tension for sure - but he does not disappoint with his heroics. After all, saving his one true love from an escaped felon is more important than his safety.

I loved the drama, the intensity, and yet also the fun with Thea. Great shades of light and dark, moments of great passion, and then the guilt at being happy. Once Dozer and Jess had the courage to speak with each other, they recognised that their love was mutual and their dreams converged - but as two independent souls, it certainly took some dramatic change in events to get them to that point!

Another fabulous story with fun catchups with the group as a whole - such a big, accepting family, what is not to love?

Dozer has always intrigued me, not a surprise since I do have a soft spot for the ‘nerds/geeks’ of the world. I also have a thing for not only the whole friends to lovers trope, but the single parent one as well. So I was all kinds of excited to dive in and see how everything played out, especially after how Disavowed ended, and I wasn’t disappointed. There was just so much goodness that my bookish heart is happy and wants more.

I loved and adored Dozer and JJ. Both of them are good, hard working people with huge hearts and genuine souls. But what I really liked about both of them was how comfortable with themselves they were. They owned who they were, the good and bad, and rolled with it.

Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun to watch. It was easy to see how much they cared about each other, and add Thea into the mix and there was no doubt in my mind that if they both just took that next step, they could be so much more. Of course, the situation they find themselves in isn’t necessarily ideal for declarations of love, but with a little(big) nudge from a friend, they take the leap and I loved how it all worked out for them in the end.

This was a great read and addition to the series. The suspense side of things was well written and kept me on my toes. But it was getting to catch up with the JSC crew that kicked this baby up a notch for me. I loved watching how they rallied around Dozer, JJ, Claire and Thea and just how all of their relationships in general have evolved. I’m definitely curious about Kellen and cannot wait to get my hands on his book!

Dozer Burney works at Jameson Force Security within the team that develops and runs their security technology. Alongside Bebe Grimshaw, Dozer has helped to elevate Jameson with their state of the art hi tech. His computer science degree and work in AI at NASA made him quite the attractive nerd for the Jameson family.

Jessica Anderson had been Dozer’s best friend since college, with Chase making up their group of 3. Jessica and Chase had always been an item, until they weren’t, but Dozer had quietly sat on the sidelines admiring her from afar, never making his feelings known. He’d been more than content to be godfather to their 7 year old daughter, Thea.

Jessica had dated an unassuming American called Alex Smith, who was a little more into her than she was him. Alex turned out to not be the person she thought he was, and circumstances had her helping the police to put him in prison.

Moving to the current day, Dozer sees an alert to say Alex, otherwise known as Ivan Borovsky, had escaped prison and was heading her way. Dozer made it his mission to get to Jessica and her daughter before Ivan did, with or without the Jameson backup.

I enjoyed the latest offering in this series, continuing the romance & suspense in the right measure. I’m comforted by the appearance of various members of the Jameson family that we’ve met previously, and have been looking forward to Dozer’s turn.

Dozer and Jess have been friends for years. I thought it was sad that Chase was part of the friend group and he took the lead in having a romantic relationship with Jess. So much so they had a daughter. Unfortunately he would not marry Jess, and he ended up getting killed in a motorcycle accident. It got worse as Jess unknowingly got mixed up with someone in the Russian mafia. Jess ends up going to the police and the Russian ends up in prison.

Dozer is extremely smart and works with Bebe at Jameson in the lab creating new security tools. Dozer and Bebe were best friends and she is hurt when she finds out about Jess and that he has feelings for her. When Dozer finds out the Russian broke out of prison, he told Kynan about Jess and how he needs to get to her in Miami to help her. Luckily he gets there just in time as two goons approached them as they were leaving her house. I was surprised who Dozer’s father was and happy that he could help his son. I know it was weird for Jess, her daughter and mother to be stuck in Pittsburgh at a small room at the Pittsburg headquarters to keep them safe. Dozer and Jess have unresolved feelings they has to come to terms with. The FBI and Jameson Security come up with an idea to pull the Russian out to catch him. When Jess finds out, she freaks out. Everything gets exciting and suspenseful. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

Code Name: Revenge is the ninth book in Sawyer Bennett’s Jameson Force Security Series. I have been looking forward to Dozer's story since he was introduced as Bebe's sidekick and his story did not disappoint. This is a steamy, friends to lovers, romantic suspense story that I devoured in one sitting.

Dozer is the computer tech genius at Jameson Force Security, and is passionate about his work. He is loyal and protective. The moment he learns his best friend, Jessica and her daughter, Thea are in danger he does not hesitate to jump into the field to do whatever he has to, to keep them safe. Dozer has been in love with Jess for many years, although he would never admit it as their timing just did not seem to match up. However seeing the danger that Jess is in, has put things into perspective for him. Jess is a devoted single mom. She is strong and brave and she did not hesitate to jump into the line of fire if it meant keeping herself, and her daughter safe.

As with every book in this series, I really enjoy the cohesiveness of the Jameson team have with one another. They are a family through and through. I love how they never hesitate to come together as team when needed. I really loved seeing more of Dozer and Bebe’s friendship in this book. They truly have each other’s backs, no questions asked.

I loved the introduction of newcomer, Kellen and his K9 Omega. I am looking forward to his story next.

Finally we have Dozer’s long awaited story and you start out at the edge of your seat - and stay there throughout! There is so much action in his story, that I thoroughly enjoyed. Give me all the extra heart beats and fast reading to find out what happens next!

With this best friends to lovers romantic suspense, we get some background into Dozer’s past that makes us understand why he’s become the man he is today. And that in fact, he is not a ladies man like we all thought. He goes to Florida to visit his best friend Jessica and her daughter Thea.

So when Jessica’s life becomes in perilous danger since Ivan Borovsky escaped prison, Dozer jumps into action. He will do anything to protect his JJ and her little girl. He might not be a field agent, he’s more the brains of the operations at Jameson with Bebe Grimshaw, but he knows how to throw down too.

There were a few times where Jess or Dozer’s dad, James, demanded to be involved, even though they would’ve been more of a hinderance than a help. But I also understand that when it’s someone you love, you don’t hold back no matter what is happening.

You won’t be disappointed in Dozer and Jess’ story, when they finally have the much needed chat and create a beautiful future and family together.

Finally getting to know Dozer and his story! Throughout the other books, Dozer has been somewhat of a mystery while being a desk agent, but that all changes when his past is threatened. His best friend Jessica dated a man and when she found out all the bad, he had done, she reported it, and in turn he tried to have her killed. After his conviction, both her and Dozer thought everything was fine, until he escapes from prison and Dozer knows he is going after her. Rescuing her in the nick of time, they retrieve her mother and her daughter, who she shares with Dozer’s other best friend, and he brings them to Pittsburgh to put together a game plan while also keeping them safe. Jessica won’t go down without a fight, and is determined to help Dozer see this through, and in the process, they are able to address the feelings they both have for each other and their past and why they didn’t initially end up together. This was another hit from Sawyer – I am obsessed with her books and can’t get enough of her Pittsburgh books. I can’t wait to see what comes next for these characters!

Dozer and Jess have been friends for years, best friends really. When someone from Jess’s past escapes prison and puts her life in danger he doesn’t hesitate to do whatever is in his power to protect her and her daughter.

I love Dozer! You would think he is all muscles, which there is no denying he has them, but the man is insanely smart and really working the tech side of things is his passion. I love his protectiveness when it comes to Jess and Thea. They are truly the most important people in his life and he will not hesitate to do anything he can to make sure they are safe. I also loved Jess. She was strong and wasn’t going to just run and hide from everything going on.

Dozer and Jess have always been friends, but they have both also had feelings for each other. It was really one of those situations of not wanting to admit their true feelings with the fear of changing everything. Especially after the loss of their friend Chase, who also is Jess’s ex and Thea’s father. But the chemistry between these two is amazing. Their friendship is natural and I love how well they balance each other out.

If you’re looking for a single mom, friends to lovers, romantic suspense story this is one to read.

M/F Friends to lovers romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Dozer is one of those men who you know if just built to protect. He has a way about him - his friends and family know that he will protect them with everything he has and is. When he finds out that his best friend from back home is in danger, he goes full tilt to make sure she and her daughter are safe. Dozer loves both Jessica and her daughter and has since he met them. But, he's only ever been Jessica's friend and confidant. While he knows that he loves her more than a friend, he's never wanted to change their relationship or ruin it.

Jessica is fun, smart, dedicated and loyal.
