First, I hit him with my car. Then I hit him with an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Annabelle
My father really outdid himself this time. If he wasn’t already the worst, his newest demand surely gave him that title—if I wanted to take over the family company, I needed to get married.

Within the next six months.

He thought he had me right where he wanted me…that I’d marry one of his lackeys. A man who’d keep me in line with Dad’s vision for both me and Parker Industries.

Well, dear old Dad had another thing coming. I was no pushover, bowing to the whims of him or any man. I had a plan. And that plan’s name was Ryder Perry.

Ryder
Red River, Texas was worse than I thought it was going to be when I moved here with my brothers to renovate the old ranch home we inherited from a distant relative. Mosquitos, flies, and the lung-clogging humidity were making me miserable, and that misery was only compounded when a spoiled rotten princess slammed into my truck and had the audacity to blame me.

The next time I saw her, she offered me two things—an apology for her behavior and a million dollars…to marry her.

I thought she was drunk. Or crazy. Or maybe a little bit of both. I wasn’t sure.

But one thing was for sure—my time in Red River just got a lot more interesting.

This is a standalone romance with lots of spice and snarky humor. It is book one in a series of standalones featuring four hot brothers finding love in a small town. HEA guaranteed!

I was super excited to read this book. I loved the Milestone Mischief series and this one lived up to my expectations and then exceeded them. Annabelle and Ryder's story was amazing. Piper kept me guessing at every turn, and made me wonder what was going to happen next. The way that she portrayed their relationship... it was everything. I love that he wanted to protect her no matter what was going to happen. Annabelle might be one of my new favorite heroines.

I love Piper james Milestone Mischief series and this book is no exception. I put a spin on fake fiance trope. Annabelle is strong independent woman that enlist the help of a stranger to get what she needs. Ryder is playful and protective of Annabelle and it makes my heart completely melt. The chemistry between them cannot be missed it's just a perfect how they are together. This must read you wont want to put down. On side note i never want to punch a fiction charter more then i want to punch Jaxson face. This 18+

This is definitely my favorite Piper James book so far! It's so clever and turns the billionaire "marriage of convenience" trope on its head. I loved Ryder and Annabelle and thought their chemistry was sizzling and loved the way she seduced him. He father was such a misogynist a-hole that I wanted to reach through the pages and strangle him. I am so excited to see what else is in store for the Perry Brothers and what else Piper James has planned for Red River!

At twenty-eight, Annabelle Parker is finding out how big of a misogynistic A-hole her father, Jaxson Parker truly is. Because she arrived in his office to a line-up of men introduced as “eligible” bachelors. Her father told her with them present, that he’d set up a series of dates for her with each of them. Dates! Not meetings. Dates.

Not happening is all she ground out between her teeth, as she stomped toward the door. He yells her name and the men file out. She doesn't face her father, she keeps her back to him, and she is grinding her teeth so hard they should be turning to dust. Once the men are out of the office she whips around with her hands on her hips, “How could you do this to me? Do you not see how demeaning that was to and for me?” Her father basically tells her that they are all highly intelligent, and competent men. All of them would make great husbands, and they are also savvy businessmen, too. HUSBANDS!

What are you talking about, husband? He tells her she should be married, and states she should be having children by now, that will someday inherit his empire. She was so angry because she stayed, and had been putting up with her dad because she, wanted Parker Industries. Her older twin brothers refused to put up with his antics, her older brother, Marshall had already given him a grandchild. His twin, Max was married with a baby on the way. He’d burned those bridges, to the point where they’d cut him out of their lives. Moving halfway across the country. She tells her dad she doesn't need a husband and that she has plenty of time for kids. That is when he starts to tell her, she’s a decent-looking woman, she’s a wealthy heiress who could be with any man she wanted, yet she’s still alone.

He wants to know why. She tells him she doesn't need a man. She’s very happy with her life the way it is. But, he’s not playing he wants her married in six months. Or she’s fired and he’s selling the business piece by piece. An accident brings her in contact with a man from L.A. She knows a man who is perfect to hire to be her fake husband. He is infuriating enough, that they would never be attracted to each other. Since he looks like he could use the cash, paying for doing the job should make it a no-brainer. So, she seeks out the sexier than sin, Ryder Perry. However, she shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.

What she didn't know was he and his brothers had inherited a dilapidated ranch in, East Texas last year. Their great-uncle had passed away and left it to them. Noah, Chase, Ethan, and, Ryder were his only heirs. And as an equal partner in, Perry Brothers Construction, he was outvoted, three-to-one. You see, Perry Construction is VERY lucrative in, Los Angeles so much so that none of the guys would ever have to work another day in their lives. Ever. This is a Very good book! Love the chemistry that, Ryder and, Belle has.

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 Steamy & Entertaining!

It Started with a Bang
Red River Romps, Book 1
By: Piper James
Narrated by: Melissa Green & Jarman Day

This is a fantastic small town romance and a banging start to Piper James’ “Red River Romps” series, a series of standalone novels with each book featuring a different Perry brother. The first book is Ryder Perry’s and Annabelle Parker’s story, a story that grabs your attention right from the start and holds it captive the entire time. Ryder and his brothers moved to Red River, Texas, to renovate the old house they inherited, and while Ryder was picking up lunch for them, his truck gets rear-ended by a snarky, rude, uppity driver who tries putting the blame on him, even though his truck was not moving. Annabelle was not having a good day and was not at her best when she went off on Ryder and texted him an apology later. She works for her father and hopes to take over running his company when he retires. Despite all the hard work she has done, he added a stipulation, a marriage clause, in order to take over the company she needs to be married in six months and started arranging dates for her. Not liking his choices, she said she’d find her own husband and after running into Ryder again, she comes up with a plan and it includes him and a proposition. These two jumped to their own conclusion on what the other was really like and the reason Ryder said yes to her offer, but stuck it out with her for another. I enjoyed this multilayered story and how it all plays out with a balance of drama, angst, witty snark and dialogue, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Piper James, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Melissa Green and Jarman Day did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life and delivering a perfect portrayal of each. Green nailed it as Annabelle, grasping all aspects of her personality and demeanor, from her fierceness to her vulnerabilities and all in between, also handled her angst and snarky dialogue effortlessly. Day was just as fabulous as Ryder and showcasing his personality and demeanor perfectly, as the swoon worthy character he was. Both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters, giving each their own voice and personality, making it easy to follow along and tell who was who. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance takes the story to another level.

I absolutely loved Annabelle and Ryder’s story in Piper James’ newest series, Red River Romps, which is a very loose spinoff of sorts to her Milestone Mischief series as Annabelle is Max and Marshall’s younger sister. It’s not necessary to read Milestone Mischief before reading Red River Romps, but it adds to the overall universe Ms. James has created if you do. Plus, just like this one, they’re great—funny and romantic with little bits of miscommunication thrown in to keep the characters on their toes and the reader rooting for everything to work out.

Annabelle is a strong, smart, and bold woman who has worked hard her whole life to prove to her father she’s good enough to take over Parker Industries when he retires. There’s only one problem. He’s a giant a-hole who belittles her worth simply because she’s female. There’s no way she could run the company without the aid of a man, specifically one of his choosing, and so he gives her an ultimatum: get married within six months or forfeit the opportunity to take over the company.

Enter Ryder, new in town and recent victim to Annabelle’s distracted driving. To say he and Annabelle get off on the wrong foot is an understatement, which makes him the perfect candidate for a fake marriage. He gets a million dollars, and she gets the company. What can go wrong? He doesn’t like her and she doesn’t like him, so there should be no chance of anyone catching feelings, right?

I really enjoyed this story and watching (since it played like a Lifetime/Hallmark movie—with added steamy bits—in my head) Annabelle and Ryder get to know each other. He’s not what she imagined, and she’s not what he imagined. Yet they just might be what each one of them needs.

I can’t wait to read what Ms. James writes next.

I was hoping for more

This book has left me feeling blah. It’s your typical fake marriage between two millionaires book. Here’s a quick re-cap and my two cents.

Quick re-cap:

Belle wants to take over Parker Industries, her father’s company. But her father is a sexist pig and won’t let her do it unless she marries someone. Belle runs into Ryder and decides to ask him to fake marry her. Thinking he can have fun with this princess heiress, Ryder accepts.

My two cents:

This book is a very traditional fake marriage book. There wasn’t anything crazy or imaginative about it.

I was curious if there were books out there for Belle’s twin brothers. Their stories seemed interesting. Maybe I’ll look for them.

I was super mad that the climax happened mainly due to lack of communication and that was it.

I wanted to know what happened to Belle’s Dad in the end. What does he do with his company? What happens to him? I was hoping to find out in the epilogue, but it didn’t mention anything.

The sex scenes were pretty good. So, if you’re reading just for that, then definitely read this!

I haven’t decided if I’ll read more in this series. I like a little something extra in the books I read and I wasn’t feeling it with this. Feel free to try this one. It’s perfectly decent and most people will enjoy it. Happy reading y’all!!

While there's nothing wrong with the book, it just reminded me why I tend to stay away from contemporary romances. This book has very marshmallow and cupcake vibes - the couple first meets after Belle hits Ryder's car and they exchange phone numbers (but don't call the police, which is stupid of both of these rich people). Later, Belle sees Ryder at a bar and propositions him - one million dollars in exchange for his hand in marriage. They get married and everything is going great until "oh, no, a misunderstanding that you can't possibly talk about like adults." That would be too much of an emotionally mature response.

I despise the misunderstanding and miscommunication trope, I'm tired of everyone in every contemporary book being ultrarich (like their companies can't be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, which is still a hefty sum of money, but has to be worth millions or billions), the "villain" is one-dimensional, i.e. he's sexist. Why is he like that, why is his relationship with her brothers estranged if he is sexiest, because it seems to me that he would favor them, and I don't particularly like the fluffy quality of contemporary books - it's literally everything will be perfectly okay until the very end.

I realize this is a me problem, because I have read some contemporary romances that I enjoyed, but this one was pretty boring.

It Started with a Bang
Red River Romps, Book 1
By: Piper James
Narrated by: Melissa Green, Jarman Day

Well hello Perry brothers. I am so happy to meet them, but especially Ryder. When he accidentally is hit by Annabelle, he is propositioned with an offer he can't refuse. Annabelle needs to be married to take over the family business and when Belle gives him the price she is willing to pay, he takes her up on it. But is that the reason he does it? This is a fun, instant chemistry, fake marriage listen that had rooting for the couple from the start. Belle is a fantastic character, full of ideas and compassion for those around her. Her feelings are genuine and she is easy to read. Ryder is quite a man. He is loyal and right there with Belle as things get messy. But will they be able to pull the wool over Belle's father's eyes? Fun! Fun! Fun! This is a great beginning to the series and has left me wanting more! I can't wait for the next one.

Melissa Green, what a great voice! She comes in full barrel as Belle. She is a strong personality with a hint of vulnerability that grows as Ryder gets to know her. I love the way Green portrays her with all the emotions. Jarman Day is so smooth and sweet, it's impossible not to fall for Ryder. He finds this man's Achilles heel and let's all the feels come through. Loved this combination and their narration.

Piper James has won my heart! I'm so happy to revisit some of the characters from her Milestone Mischief series and looking forward to all the new characters in what is sure to be a fabulous new series.

I've wanted to hear Belle's story since she first appeared in the Milestone books. I wasn't eager to see her dad again, what a putz, but I wanted to see the story about such a strong and independent woman. I was definitely impressed with how her story went. She took control of her own life and I love that in a female character. Especially one faced with such open sexism and misogyny as Belle was.

When it comes to Ryder, I feel like he was the perfect match for Belle. He was strong and independent in his own right, but not at all threatened by a strong woman. In fact, I love how he celebrated in her victories and honestly wanted the best for her. And their chemistry was off the charts!

James has a talent for writing romance that romance lovers want and need! I can't wait to see more from the Red River Romps series. If you're a fan of contemporary romance with just the right amount of spice and characters that are truly relatable, Piper James is the author for you!

Piper James has done it again!
If you’re like me and instantly fell in love with Piper James’s Milestone Mischief series, then you will want to read her new book. It is the first book of her new series Red River Romps. This book is exactly what we all wanted, bringing us Annabelle Parker’s story.
Annabelle is in somewhat of a predicament but comes up with a plan after literally running into Ryder Perry. They strike a deal, he will act as her fake husband, and she will pay him one million dollars. Even though Ryder doesn’t need her money, he still agrees to help Belle, for reasons he’s still unsure of.
They start off as somewhat enemies after a horrible first impression on Belle’s part. Soon Ryder discovers Belle isn’t at all like she first appeared to be. They build a friendship that quickly turns into a fiery passionate relationship. They try to convince themselves that after the agreed time is over that they’ll be able to go their separate ways, but soon realize they’re in too deep and the feelings have grown too strong to just walk away.
The chemistry they share is off the charts and make this book a page turner. You will not be able to put it down once you start. I gave this book the five star review it rightfully earned.

So, I loved that even though this isn't directly tied to the Milestone Mischief series, that it has subtle nods to it with mentions of the characters being tied to the main characters in this book.

Annabelle Parker is a force to be reckoned with. She is strong, fierce, capable, great at her job, has a heart of gold, and a wild streak that she doesn't discover until she meets Ryder.
Ryder Perry is a good guy with a great head on his shoulders, a successful remodeling business based in LA, and has recently relocated to Red River, TX to gut and renovate an old family home alongside his three brothers, and his nephew.

Jaxson Parker...that man is the devil. I mean, Satan incarnate. Like a goddamn dementor. He sucks the life out of you and uses your worst fears and weaknesses to destroy you at your weakest moment. He's an effing tool. But villains are necessary right? They give the hero a chance to save the girl, even if she doesn't need saving, because she can take care of herself. It's the chivalry for me!

I absolutely loved the storyline in this one. And the wild left turns that Piper James took with these characters. Who doesn't love a good happy ending, amirite? I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the Red River Romps series!!!

Clueless about business

Essentially, the premise of this book is nonsensical.
1. The HQ of a billion dollar company is in a small town: this just isn't possible, unless there's a large town really close, which is never implied. Instead, we're given the impression this town had a population under 20k people, which would mean something like 50% of the employable population is working there and that wouldn't leave enough workers to do other businesses.
2. We're told Jaxon is the CEO for his company, which makes sense for the size of the company, but never is the required board of directors mentioned or considered. CEOs only exist if the company is publicly traded. If it is, they make decisions on how the CEO runs the company and who the CEO is. He couldn't validly threaten to dismantle the company as the board and other shareholders wouldn't allow it. They also were likely not to approve what seems to be his whim of who the next CEO would be. There may be some leeway in this if he's a majority shareholder, but that's not likely given the size of the company.
If you ignore reality and pretend the premise makes sense, it's not a bad read, so I gave it more than a star. i don't plan to read anything else by this author.

After seeing book three in the Red River Romps series by Piper James all over BookTok, I decided to start the series at book one! I'm a sucker for steamy small town romances and this did not disappoint!

This fast paced and PACKED with undeniable chemistry, It Started With A Bang is the perfect start to a series.
My notes I wrote about 60% through were:
HOT HOT HOT 🔥🔥🔥
Ryder is freaking YUMMY

Leads I loved instantly and a ‘villain’ I loved to hate, right off the bat. What’s not to like?!

Ultimately a really fun read—though the writing could be a bit stronger at times. For example, several chapters in, after I’d obviously been along for all that unfolded, suddenly the ENTIRE BOOK so far, was recapped. That was both insulting and painfully boring. Things like this didn’t happen a ton though, and outside of them, this was a great read!

Also, dangling modifiers. For example, “Picking up her whiskey sour, she drained it…”. This is a continuity issue, she couldn’t be drinking and picking up said drink at the same time. 😉

Sexism.
Enemies-to-lovers.
Fake relationship.
B0dy shaming.
Paparazzi.
Scheming.
Secret millionaire.
Billionaire x heiress female lead.
Sizzling chemistry.
Fun banter.

Overall:
While predictable, this did still basically grip me right away because the characters are likeable, there was a parent I loved to hate from the very start, and the plot, though very overused, was executed in a fun way.

Super cute, and mostly fun. Based on this read, would I read more from this author? Yes.

3.5 stars.

🎧 Audio:
Two absolutely fantastic performances! Both narrators sound incredible and the overall sound is flawless. 5 stars. 🦩

In this book we get to know Belle Parker, sister of Mitchell and Marshall Parker from the ‘Milestone Mischief’ series and, unfortunately, get more of the HORRID Jaxon Parker. Belle wants nothing more than to take the reigns of Parker industries, but jack a$$ Jaxon doesn’t think a woman can do the job and tells her she must marry for him to hand over the company. Belle meets Ryder Perry and offers him $1 million to marry her.

The author’s world building is great as usual. She creates strong three dimensional characters with real reactions to the situations they are thrust into. Not to mention that there is some SPICE in these pages! You can feel the sexual tension between the characters and the eventual explosion leaves the reader panting. Reading as Belle and Ryder go from their initial misconceptions of each other, to liking each other to loving each other was quite enjoyable.

The Perry brothers, who are featured in this new series, are great. I can’t wait to get to know them better.

It Started With A Bang by Piper James
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🔥🔥🔥🔥

It Started With a Bang is a second chance romance. This is Annabelle and Ryder story. We meet Annabelle in Milestone Mischief. She is Max and Marshall sister but she can stand on her. She is strong, smart, caring and patience. But due to the demands of her father’s she must get marry in 6 months. So she goes out and founds someone when she bumps into Ryder. Ryder is in town because his brother and him inherited a ranch that they are now having to renovation. You can see the chemistry between them. Ryder doesn’t like how Jaxson treats his daughter. You can see how they fall in love each. Their journey is incredible with up and down. But in the end they get their HEA.

It Started With a Bang has great characters. Like with Milestone Mischief this series Piper James is wonderful. She gives us a fantastic storyline. I definitely can’t wait to read next book in the series.

Once again I’m totally blow away with Piper James. I receive this book a TBR for month of November in TikTok. I read book 2,3,4 and love it and wanted to go back and read book 1. Let just say yessss was fantastic the characters the story perfection.

Anabella work for her father billion dollar company. After belle forced by marry in order to take over her dad company. Her father was a very really ( ass ). She comes up with a very wild idea and plan. A proposal a fake marriage to a stranger she just met. But the big problem from they met her hitting his car she doesn’t like him.

Ryder was so relax sitting in his truck . Until all sudden someone hit him for the back. He walk to the car and saw a beautiful woman. Until she turn all snappy. Her call her Princesse. Until she come up front him gives him a proposal of a fake marriage.

Their love chemistry between the two characters were hot and funny as well. Love everything beside me. Jaxson Parker. I recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed when you read this series . Thank you once again Piper. Love it ❤️

Decent read

This was a decent read. The fake marriage trope is OK. We have Annabelle, a woman who works for a major sexist, her father. When he gives her an ultimatum: get married in six months to get my company, or I will sell it off piece by piece, she decides to propose a fake marriage to the guy she rear ended with her car. Then there's Ryder. He works with his brother's renovating properties, then selling, etc. He's the guy she hit. He's rich as well.

Granted, it's a fake marriage. They decide to get to know each other. Annabelle is pretty open with him. Ryder agrees to it so he can be a jerk and embarrass her cause he thinks she's a spoiled rich princess, then realizes she's not. But he doesn't tell her he is rich and doesn't need her money.

The plot was missing some finishing details. No real development with her father and what happens to company business, etc. That storyline just abruptly ends. Forgiveness is to quick and simple. Needed more.

It Started With a Bang is the first book in the Red River Romps series. This book is about Ryder and Annabelle and is told from both of their points of view.

Ryder and Annabelle meet when Annabelle hits his car. She comes off as a princess, and he treats her like one. When Annabelle goes to him and asks him to marry her for money so she can take over her father's company, he says yes.

However, during their fake relationship, he finds out there is more to Annabelle than he originally realized. They start to have real feelings for each other.

Something happens that could rip their relationship apart. What happens when her father finds out? Will she get the company for which she's worked so hard? Will their relationship survive everything that is thrown at them? Or will a betrayal rip them apart for good?

I enjoyed this book, and can't wait to read/listen to one of Ryder's brothers' books next!

This is book 1 in James' Red River Romps series and is a great intro to a new series. Our book focus on main characters Ryder and Annabelle. A marriage of convenience storyline. I really enjoyed the dual narration and the southern accent by Green was great to hear for Annabelle's character, it was just so fitting. I loved how quickly these two became smitten with each other and Ryder's family is amazing as is Annabelle's support team. Our villain happens to be non-other than Annabelle's misogynistic father and while we don't see what ends up happening to him one would like to think he withers away in loneliness after alienating everyone around him. I'm definitely looking forward to more from James and this series as I found it to be both sweet and steamy with wonderful family ties and a great HEA!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.

Simple minded drivel

The title says it all. Simple minded, worthless drivel. The characters are one dimensional. The storyline exists for only one purpose... to publish soft core porn. The 'bad guy' was way over the top bad. No rhyme or reason, just heinously bad. The bad guy's supposed motivation didn't ring true. The author probably didn't have any other way to create tension in the plot, the little of it that didn't involve sex. Oh, and how many times must the author reiterate that the marriage was supposed to be a sham? On almost every single page the reader is reminded that the marriage was not going to be a real marriage. The constant repetition soon became unacceptably annoying. I finished the book only to wonder how many IQ points I had sacrificed. This author will be enshrined on my DNR list.

Annabelle and Ryder both make quick assumptions when they meet with a bang. Annabelle is strong and appears to have everything anyone could ever need. Annabelle's father is a sexist uncaring individual who plays a big role in their story. Ryder has a great support system with his brother's and nephew. I definitely want to see more of them. Annabelle has the best friend group; a friend who will stand behind your decisions and agree with you at all costs, one who will give you a different perspective if they think you're wrong and one what is a happy medium! Annabelle's one goal was to make a difference in her community and Ryder helps her find a different path to do just that. These two are prefect for each other and I couldn't love them more! Get ready for a great story with characters you'd want to go out for drinks with!

Fun, steamy, charming, rom-com
4 stars overall, 4 stars story, 4 stars narration

This is a very good rom-com set in Texas with very good dual narration. I enjoyed the accents, pacing, and charming voices of the narrators. The twist on a modern marriage of convenience was refreshing and well written. I liked both main characters and their friends and siblings. The heroine’s father was a really crafty villain who added good tension to the plot. The couple had a happy ending, but I noticed a loose plot thread that hopefully will be tied up in the next book. After the pair got married, the number of bedroom scenes was so many that it got on my nerves a bit.
I requested and received a free audio copy via the publisher, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review. #PFPAudio #PinkFlamingoProductions #TheFlockVIPReviewTeam

Awesome book just like her others in the series. They are great to read lone or you can read em all. Annabelle has worked hard in her fathers company. Her brothers disowned him cause he is a misogynistic ass and toxic. She stayed cause she wants the company. She can do good things with it. welll ofc her father doesnt trust a woman to run the company. So she has 6 months to get married or she doesnt get the company. She is so mad that she accidently runs her car into a guy truck. When she goes to apologize she offers him 1 mill to marry her. This story is great! You will not be disappointed in what happens trust me!
I love all of pipers books. They are soo good i read them in one night cause i cant put them down.

A really good book

Enjoyed reading the love story between Ryder and Annabelle. What a story it was too. Annabelle came from rich but dysfunctional family, well it really isn't the family that's dysfunctional it's her father. Her brothers bailed out of their fathers way but she stayed because she loved the business they ran. It was her understanding she'd be taking over when the steps down. It was never his plan. You'll highly dislike that jerk (he's neither a man or father). Ryder is the man. He goes a long with her plans for taking over the business but everything back fires. It all blows up in their faces. Read what happens. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Written by Cindy :)

This was really cute. I love a good marriage of convenience and combined with their not so meet cute, Ryder and Belle had such a fun story. I really enjoyed all of the characters (minus her twhat of a father) especially her friends and his brothers.

There's a bit of a miscommunication trope, but it was actually well done. This was truly a misunderstanding Ryder attempted to thwart but missed and poor Belle was just all of in her head... I really loved how this one ended though and how Belle persevered despite her father.

This was a great listen. I loved Melissa Green's accent and thought both her and Jarman Day did a wonderful job narrating these characters.

Thank you Pink Flamingo for the advanced listen!

What a cute enemies to lovers story with a fake marriage thrown in. Annabelle is the heir apparent to her daddy’s billion dollar company, but he doesn’t see it that way because he’s a sexist jerk. His intention is to make her marry someone that makes her a more “legitimate” business woman. Of course all her dad’s choices for her are men just like him and she’s having none of that. Enter Ryder; sexy, smart and nothing like the men her dad would pick for her.

This is the beginning of a spin off series from the Milestone Mischief series. Just like those, this is a steamy rom-com that’s fun to read.

What a great book! I was so excited to see this was a spin off from the Milestone series. This is Annabelle’s story - Max and Marshall’s sister from Texas, and the next in line for her fathers billion dollar company. After Belle is forced to marry in order to take over in her dads place (because her dad is a total a-hole), she comes up with a wild plan and proposed a fake marriage to a stranger she just met. Now - I have a thing for construction workers. I see that fluorescent yellow and I’m done for. So when she meets Ryder, a handsome construction business owner, I couldn’t put this book down. This is a must read if you like 18+ romantic love stories with a HEA.

Brilliant narration from Melissa Green and Jarman Day

This book is full of humour, chemistry and great characters. You will fall in love with them both,

After Ryder is accidentally hit by Annabelle, she buts propositioned to him. Marriage. Annabelle needs to be married to take over the family business and Ryder says yes. These two have instant chemistry and a fake marriage only makes it feel more heated. With Annabelle’s father looking at them very closely it could all go wrong.
This book has humour, chemistry, heat and the right amount of steam., you will swoon and laugh out loud.

Enjoy.
