A Bit Of Sass

Rate this book
He is the perfect lover. Six feet plus of perfectly sculpted masculinity. Talented in bed. Amusing out of it. Jacob is everything Sass has always dreamed of. The one man who can make her abandon her inhibitions and embrace the sheer joy of being a woman. And he is hers for as long as she can keep things free and easy. As long as she can deny the love she feels, because no matter how sexy Jacob is, Sass can't see him as the family man her children need, and she won't risk her heart or theirs on anything less. She is the perfect woman. Passionate, practical, and hotter than a firecracker. Sass Miller affects him like no woman ever has, marking Jacob with her nails and her emotions until dreams he thought long dead reawaken, and he is once again left wanting to be part of a family. But this time he isn't a helpless kid wishing on a star. He's a man who knows exactly what he wants for Christmas—Sass as his wife and her kids as his own. All he needs to do is convince her he's worth the risk.

(1)romance author

Sarah has traveled extensively throughout her life, living in other cultures, sometimes in areas where electricity was a concept awaiting fruition and a book was an extreme luxury. While she could easily adjust to the lack of electricity, living without the comfort of a good book was intolerable. To fill the void, she bought pencil and paper and sketched out her own story. In the process, Sarah discovered the joy of writing.

Sarah writes what she loves to read; fast paced stories with vivid dialogue, intense emotion and well developed characters. Her attention to detail in her stories has earned her multiple awards and a reserved spot on Keeper shelves everywhere.

Sarah writes for Ellora's Cave, Harlequin HQN, Harlequin SPICE, Berkley HEAT and Berkley SENSATION.

What a wonderful man! Jacob definately knows how to make a woman feel good about herself! He is a hero that was not only sexy and smart, but he was definately good for Sass's ego.

Sass has some self-esteem issues. Having had two beautiful children, she has a low opinion of her body and is not as adventurous as she would like to be. She is a wonderful single mother and has sacrificed her happiness for her children. She is a hard worker and a heroine deserving of finding her happiness. That happiness is Jacob.
Sass has been in love with Jacob for over a year. When they met online, she didn't know he would stimulate more than her mind, but her body and soul too. They have been meeting once a month, on the sly now for some time. Knowing she can't keep their relationship much longer she decides to end it before her heart can't recover.

She is more than shocked when Jacob proposes marriage. She turns him down. Not thinking he is very serious and marriage/father material, she believes the issue is closed until stubborn Jacob moves in next door.

I loved Jacob. In fear of repeating myself, there is nothing sexier than a man who knows what he wants and doesn't give up until he gets it! Whew!

The interaction between all the charcters was great. Jacob and the children will definately keep Sass busy for many years to come!

Loved this book, and hated for it to end.

If you are offended by a sexy hero, hot sex and explicit language this book is not for you. Otherwise, have a cold drink and enjoy this wild ride...I really did!

"A Bit of Sass" is a great read by Sarah McCarty. From lovers, to friends with benefits, to two people IN love...the story of Jacob and Sass will have you laughing and tearing up a bit at what people in love are willing to do to prove their love and devotion.

Sass is a single mother who considers her time with Jacob a treat for herself. She's loved him for a while now, but he's a free spirit and she knows you just can't count on a man like that. So she immerses herself and her feelings in their weekend escapes and banks the memories for when they're no longer together and now that time has come. He's becoming too important and she needs to cut herself off now before the pain overshadows the pleasure. When Jacob surprises her with a proposal, she's shocked...and dismayed. Because really, he's been a swinging bachelor for so long, he doesn't have a clue about what life is like with kids! Little does she know that Jacob has made up his mind, and he's just as stubborn as she is.

Fun, hot, and sweet...all at the same time. Watching their relationship progress to the next level was all of the previous. For such a short story, Sarah McCarty did a fabulous job of providing not only a good feeling for the background for both of her characters, but also their reasons and motivations for the changes they're both looking for without realizing it. If you've wanted to try one of McCarty's stories, this one is a peach!

Sass is divorced with two children. Once amonth she meets Jacob for hot sex. When Jacob proposes to her she panics. She feels he is not father material and turns him down. Jacob decides to move into the house next door to her. He finally gets to meet the children and they are a handful. I loved his interaction with the children and how they in turn manipulated him. Wonderful love story with steamy sex.

Could have been higher if there was more "story" within the story.
I like that the protagonists are mature in terms of age (41 & 35) and their outlook on life.

The love scenes are lengthy and hot. Come to think of it, if I read this 10 years ago, I would have been even more "impressed".

Will seek out more from this author, definitely.

Sass is an up and coming author who met Jacob, an already successful author online. They get together, to have a bit of fun, but it's more than that for both parties. Sass has two children, and she needs a father for the children, and she doesn't believe Jacob is up for it.

The story was hot. But I didn't like how Sass and Jacob had already met and had a history by the time the story starts. And we jump right into the heat...no build up. And that was the main scene, even though it was super long. And I didn't like how Sass sets Jacob up for failure instead of letting him prove himself like he wanted to. She didn't let him make up for his previous comments, of course until the end. And then we have another shorter heated scene.

It was decent, and I guess all you can really expect out of a novella.

I will start with I love Sarah McCarthy, she writes erotic romance and it not for the faint of heart. If you can't handle dirty raw sex you may want to pass, but I'm telling you it's a good read!!!! Her characters are always well developed as well as a interesting storyline the dirty sex is just a bonus. This book is a short story so if you love this one you should try a full length novel. Go forth and enjoy this good read.

The scene post 'first time babysitting' for Jacob, alone, was worth the read! I laughed myself to tears!!

A bit of ruckus, a bit of stupidness, a little bit of hard-to-get, and a LOT of steamy scenes, then you'll get a nice package of sexiness for a few minutes.
