A really great intro to Python that goes beyond the usual "hello world" and arithmetic problems to solutions that are regularly utilized and is presented in a way that is easily accessible. While just doing a straight-through reading isn't bad, it's definitely enhanced if coding along as you read.
One thing I really liked it that it doesn't assume knowledge and leave out important details someone would need to know to complete any of the exercises, but doesn't go into unnecessary detail that would bog down more experienced coders.
There is two previous guides for beginners that go over the basic. This book focuses on common uses of python and how to code it. I picked up this manual for Image Processing for Pattern Detection chapter. I was looking to write a code that can detect a particular image on a webpage. The chapter was about applying filters so it was a little disappointing ngl.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The ultimate step by step guide to data science using python was an educational read. Be warned that it assumes prior knowledge in several areas, ranging from programming, python, data analytics, machine learning, etc. However, the book provides some worked-through examples of applications of data science and shows a handful of useful real world use cases.
