That’s me. I was bitten, forced into this life against my will. Worse still, my wolf is an alpha female, meant to rule. But existing pack prejudices mean that every battle is fought uphill.
Then there’s the fact that alpha females take on five mates. FIVE!
I’ve never even had a serious boyfriend, and now everyone expects me to manage five? I have to find myself and my fated mates, all while navigating a dark academy with haunted halls and vicious spirits. Add in being separated from the only family I have left to all of that and life basically can’t get any worse.
…Except when my inner wolf disappears and I have to face the evil spirits to get her back.
While this book started OK it went downhill for me pretty much until the end. A lot has to do with my having read the book via audio of the book and the ridiculousness of the male narrator. Let me start by saying - OH MY GOD, on the regular I let my iPhone read to me in a jilted computerized Siri voice but somehow whoever the male narrator is, his actual voice and inflection was immediately annoying and grating to listen to. Since I bought the audio book set I was stuck and determined to see it through and while I did I can't say I enjoyed a lot of the books. For some reason the story line and delivery just came off as very amateur and the abrupt chapter ends made for a really awkwardly paced read. Plus I'm still mad that the heroine is changed and has her life completely altered and flipped upside down because one of her men wanted to save her after meeting her one night in his wolf form while she was on a bender. Smh moment for sure! Then book two introduces the lamest villain and I was not a fan of how that played out or how weak it made everyone appear. There was nothing to really make me care about the characters and unfortunately the overall plot was just not exciting or gripping enough for me.
This trilogy is a-fantastic! The world-building was amazing, the progress was very smooth and the suspense— I tell you, it’s worth it! In the first part I was like “COME ON WE NEED ANSWERS” in a good way. Some books really drag on with the mystery and suspense to the point that readers lose patience and skip things, but this book? Nope.
I already loved the book from the beginning, with all these questions and mysterious incidents and POVs (multiple POVs, but Raven dominates the others because she’s the main character, duh), I was HOOKED! The suspense was killing me but damn it it was a good feeling.
I read it at midnight and got chills (Raven could talk to spirits and ghosts etc) because of the Academy. The setting for the Academy was superb, too! Basically, we were treated to a Hogwarts kinda atmosphere, only to find out that… it wasn’t. SO. FASCINATING!
The dynamic between Raven and her men was smooth and not at all cringey! Everyone had their role to play and I super duper love the way Raven eased up to them slowly, not instantly “YES GIVE ME ALL THE DICKS!!!!!” —okay, I think that could be Joan (Raven’s wolf)— but she took time to think things through (even if she was only 18, ugh, who made wise decisions at 18, not me).
OHHHHHH JOAN. Joan was THE IT. She was the one who made this trilogy fun! I love all the interactions between her and Raven. She was a horny bitch but not to the point that it was annoying.
As for the men, I realised their initials are ABCDE.
Adler Brayden Carter Draco Everett
Adler: my favourite guy. He’s big and bulky, a changeling (lower Fae) who’s soft and the nurturer of the group. Brayden calls him Daddy for the fun of it (no M/M in this book).
Brayden: second favourite. He’s a psychotic bitch but a smartass through and through. He has this darkness around him that Raven could compete well with. He’s so annoying but ugh I like him. I think he’s bi and um, there’s this undertone that he might be attracted to his own twin IDK I JUST GOT THAT VIBE FROM HIM 😭
Carter: the scholar of the group. Soft-hearted and you know what they say… it’s always the quiet ones. He’s portrayed as kinky but there was something rushed and forced from that particular scene, although it was good. Okay he could be second or third favourite.
Draco: Brayden’s twin. He’s the enemies-to-lovers one with Raven. He was very sus and annoying in the beginning but he turned out to be… psycho as well. He’s so similar to Brayden. They’re identical in more ways than one it’s creepy. Also got the vibe he’s attracted to Brayden pls 😩
Everett: HMMMMMMMMMM. I don’t know what he’s supposed to contribute in this group of harem. We have Adler the nurturer, Brayden the mysterious psycho, Carter the scholar, Draco the dramatic emo boi… but Everett? He’s kind of a redundant. He’s also plain boring. It would be nice if he were an asshole who made his way up to Raven’s circle. He’s my least favourite, and… boring.
There are some characters at the end from the Blood Mafia series (haven’t read them, on my way though) that I’m curious about! I think there’s no book yet on these two characters and PLEASE, MA’AM RORY MILES I NEED BLAZE AND EVELYN’S BOOK 🥺
The last book of the series and it was great, filled with twists and turns, darkness, and revelations. Oh, I should mention, this seems to follow after the Blood Mafia series. You can read it as a standalone, but it may get a little confusing when those characters show up.
Love Joan!
The world and character build are strong, and the plot kept me guessing...I was wrong on so many guesses until I was close to their revelation. I think I would have loved the MMCs more if it wasn't for the narrator. He managed to make the steamy parts sound like a question...or monotone enough the passion exited to the left and tried again when it was the female narrators turn. Please redo this with duel narrators or a better male narrator. He made the guys sound like they were Scottish, then English mid sentences and one sounded so nasally it was like he stereotyped him as a nasally kid who's voice just broke and he loves books, instead of the gorgeous surfer looking and sounding book loving guy the character is.
Ignoring the narrator and you will love this RH, FMC bad ass, discovery of self and power, shifters, demons, Faie, vamps, hunters, and more, darkish paranormal steamy academy series. That smex was hot (when ignoring the male narrator)
Be warned their are triggers. You should read the list on the authors site. they include addiction, self-harm, depression, and more
I really liked book one, I could barely put it down to sleep. My problems started with book 2. I wish there was more development between the couples 1 on 1 before we just jump into 1 on 5 . . . Like she barely knows them at all, hardly likes or trusts them and they’re just banging. Book two was also slow and idk if it was me but the clues were not giving me enough to even formulate a theory about what was going on. The Luna connection is suppose to be strong but she spends more time with Bea than the guys. I didn’t like that she was forced to drink and that the wolf just kind of fixes it. It was really weird to me. By book 3 I’d lost interest. Not really even sure what’s going on in book 3 to be honest.
I really enjoyed this series, if you’re into reverse harem PNR this series is for you.
The FMC is a strong character, completely developed, and I absolutely loved her. Her vulnerability balanced with her total badassery is perfect. With all the MMC’s you get a little bit of everything.
The steamy bits are extremely saucy. 🔥
My only two somewhat negative points are that I feel like the end is a bit abrupt, but maybe that’s because I wasn’t ready to walk away from this world.
The only other criticism I have is we only get the bonding ritual for the entire group scene. Maybe an ending one would have helped the book feel more complete.
I'm glad I read the bundled version because the cliffhangers at the end of sections would have been really annoying.
Also the sex scenes were pretty cringe but fortunately there weren't a ton of them and they were short enough to skip easily.
I enjoyed the relationship between Raven and her wolf Joan, and the whole thing caught my attention enough for me to stay engaged but didn't require a lot from me mentally or emotionally. (My last book was A LOT so this was a really nice break.) I'm likely to keep reading more until I don't want to anymore 🤷
It was ok. I liked that it was a complete RH series. Most answers were answered in the end. I thought it was an ok story. I like shifter stories but this was a little different with dealth and the underworld as a factor. It lost me at times. I liked the main character and her wolf who was very funny. All of the guys were good too. It was enjoyable however, I don’t think I’d remember it next week.
Woo what a good story!!! I just love Raven!!! And joan is the best!! This is full of surprises suspense and twists and turns!!! I couldn't put it down!!! Can't wait to see what's instoreSo many more twists and turns in this book!!! Woo I just love raven even more!!!! Defintley another 5 star reivewOh man what a great ending to a great story!!!! I couldn't put it down, it was that good!!!!! 5 stars for sure!!!
4 stars only because I didn't feel the emotion inside me.. Not a bad series. I struggled at the start to get Into it but, once there it is a really good read. Didn't like the ending as I want to know what happened to mazi and the death brothers rising etc. I mean are they in another book after this series?? A little write up at the end would have been nice. I am going to read the next series blood owned I think it is as I'm hoping it's in there lol.
Raven is a human turned shifter. When she is turned, she becomes a Luna. An Alpha female, who has a harem. She is also part witch who can do Necromancy. All kinds of bad things are happening at Bad Moon Academy, which is where new shifters are taken. Can Raven and her Harem save the remaining shifters from dying? Are they able to save the school? Read and find out.
Werewolves, vampires, fae, demons, ghosts, and humans; Ohhhh my!! This is a turned werewolves series with a strong fmc! She has 5 mates. There is a little smut, but there is more story than smutty scenes. The main characters are all atleast 18. There’s a lot of action. It is a slow burn so don’t expect anybody to fall in love within the first couple of pages. There is a very interesting dynamic, but I will let you figure all about that when you read it!!
This was a great series, twists and turns aplenty, The villans down right crazy the good guys flawed but doing there best. There was such a bitter sweetness running through this book that tells you nomatter what darkness is in you or what you have done you deserve happiness and you can be forgiven if you make amends.🥰🥰
Okay at first I had a hard time getting through this complete series. But once I really got what was happening with the necromancy, shifters, the demon, the phantom, a Fae, Death and even vampires,it started to come together and it’s a great read.
Nothing is as it seems but all will be revealed as you read. I promise you it’s worth it!
I liked Raven. She’s spunky even after being dealt a hard life. So I like the concept of the story. But what am I missing? What’s the story with Blaze and all of them? The conclusions to the story issues were a little underwhelming. And what about Mazz? She’s still out there.
Love this series! This is the complete series for Raven and her guys at Bad Moon Academy. Raven and her wolf have some great convos that will make you chuckle for sure. Jinx. Crazy rollercoaster of a series but I definitely recommend it if you love wolves, RH, ghost/mediums, etc.
Joan is so sassy I love it. Five hot guys that want nothing but to be your group tasty.this has a bit of everything magic death sadness job kick butt personalities. Fun for all
This was my first time reading books by this author and again I am not surprised by how good it was. Definitely worth reading. I will be checking out more books by this author Definitely.
This series was all over the place, sometimes I loved it other times I got tired of it.. I really hope there will be more of raven an her guys running the school because it feels like that's where their story should officially start...
This book was amazing start to finish! I loved the character development and progression along with the back stories! 10 of ten recommend to anyone who likes these type of stories! Would totally read it again!
Oh wow, what a wonderfully detailed and entertaining story about Raven and her harem, Everett, Carter, Draco, Brayden, and Adler. Draco and Brayden are twins. They are all changed wolves except Adler. There is a lot going on in this story and I really enjoyed it!
I wanted to love this, I was really into it until it started to become repetitive and redundant. I even fell asleep while trying my hardest to finish it. The characters were prefect but the execution of the plot left it so dull.
Raven and her guys will hold your attention throughout the entire series. Sparky shifters, hilarious antics, sad moments, and crazy stunts keep you enthralled in the story. Highly recommend reading this series.
I loved, loved, loved Joan!! She made me giggle, Raven wasn't bad either. Wolves, reapers, vampires and death himself and a fae, this book has it all,and its a good reaxe!
Absolutely riveting loved it, could not stop reading it. Raven was a breath of fresh air and sunshine for everyone and she has balls bigger than half of the men lol
