Ahhh this was adorable!! I never knew I really needed this book but damn I had so much fun reading it!

The whole book was refreshing to read 𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙉 𝙏𝙃𝙊𝙐𝙂𝙃 it was such a cliche. Idk it’s been a minute since I read a simple sports romance and I couldn’t stop the excitement. It really brought me out of this weird reading slump 🤷🏻‍♀️

There were so many scenes I loved to bits. The little things they’d do for each other were so freaking cute! 🤭💕

Daisy was actually relatable and not annoying which I’m so grateful for. It was so funny watching her at the start fumbling over her words and being awkward. But It was nice to see her grow and become more confident.

Jordan was honestly so lovable! 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙚𝙩-𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙚? 𝗜’𝗠 𝗦𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗩 𝗢𝗙 𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗦𝗢 𝗗𝗔𝗠𝗡 𝗖𝗨𝗧𝗘 𝗣𝗟𝗦. Why did no one tell me that he was gonna be so freaking sweet??!! And the grovelling was so thoughtful too 🥲

(And he had tattoos so it’s all his fault I’m fawning over him 🙃)

The writing was kind of meh at the start but it got a lot better as I read on. Maybe I got used to it? Idk but I liked it eventually.

4.25 ⭐️ THE WAY I DEVOURED THIS??? it was so fcking cute and fluffy 😭

i wanted a little ✨palate cleanser✨ and this gave what i needed it to. Daisy & Jordan were adorable!!! their friendship, the slow development, the tropes!!! i honestly couldn’t get enough.

the third act conflict however.. very unnecessary? i didn’t feel like the characters would’ve actually reacted that way. it was just so silly. but it’s fine because it led to that iconic ending.

i’ll be running to the next one because Violet & Gavin? i’m ready 🏃🏻‍♀️

“i want to be the guy that shows up for you. tonight, tomorrow, everyday.” <3

2.5 stars. Lots of mixed feelings with this one, but I ultimately don't think this book was for me. TBH, I was expecting to enjoy this more than I did - but there were some things that really irritated me that I couldn't ignore. I really did like a few books by this author in the past, so I'm sad to be leaving such a generally negative review.

I mostly knew what to expect going into this book - the manwhore/inexperienced girl match up. I expected to be annoyed by the hero's (Jordan) past but I fully expected it to be a minor thing based off of reviews I read. However, it was mentioned REALLY frequently, and just the level of his manwhore-ness was too much for me. The hero spends ~5 days a week hooking up with randoms. That to me is just not easy to overlook or ignore. Then, the author tried to rationalize his actions as being somehow deeper than they were. The hero's friend died and he decided to live his life having "all the fun" that his friend could no longer have. Ok fine, but does getting herpes and liver disease somehow give him a fulfilling life? I NEVER felt like the hero actually regretted any of his actions or truly chose to be different. He really only changed because he liked hanging out with Daisy (the heroine) more and kinda just went along with what she wanted to do.

Here's what I really couldn't get over... the heroine is a smart girl who desperately wants to "be popular" and get invited to parties. She has only ever been with two guys in her life (and no surprise: the sex wasn't good with either of them). She's kind of portrayed as a little pathetic tbh, because of how much she wishes she was included with the "cool kids". But why is SHE the one who somehow makes sense with this hero? Why does this girl who has always been discerning with her choices in the past somehow end up tied for life to the biggest player on campus? He literally shows the tiniest bit of interest in her and she's instantly all over him. She forgets her crush on the guy she liked for two years and throws herself at the hero - willing to take any scraps he's willing to give. She even expected him to still be sleeping with OW all the time that they were hanging out and texting, and she was fine with just ignoring it and pretending it wasn't happening. Their relationship to me should have ended in a short fling before she found someone more similar to herself. I'm all for women having fun and exploring their sexuality - but this wasn't it. This is yet another book that sends the message that men can stick their dick in anything and nbd, while the woman needs to be near-virginal or virginal to get the guy. Why wouldn't this hero end up with someone like his ex-fuck buddy - who also sleeps around? I've said it before and I'll say it again, but these match-ups are sexist and extremely overused.

Maybe Ms. Jenshak should ask herself why this heroine couldn't have AT LEAST had GOOD sex with her two ex-boyfriends? Why did it have to be so bad with both of them? She didn't even know how to give a HAND JOB FFS. Can we please level the playing fields and stop writing books that make it seem like virginity in women is a virtue? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Overall, this book did have some good parts. I did enjoy the side characters - Daisy's friends and Jordan's friends. I'm a little unsure about the setup for the next book (seems like it will be Violet and Gavin) but I'm hoping he didn't actually cheat, and the story won't be some coming back from cheating BS. I also did like some portions of the storyline, but I'm afraid that my personal preferences against this match-up made it hard for me to fully enjoy anything or become invested in this couple.

One last thing, the ending has a separation that I felt was kinda stupid and overly dramatic. However, instead of the hero truly fighting to get the heroine back, he spends a lot of time drinking and partying. He really doesn't even plan to go after her until he randomly runs into her and realizes maybe she still has feelings for him. I can't help but think that if he REALLY wanted her, he would have behaved differently and tried to show her that he had changed. That he wanted to be a better person, and not just him immediately going back to his old ways. There's a HEA ending but tbh, I didn't really believe in these two being happy long-term.

Safety; Hero major manwhore, heroine not a virgin but has had bad sex with two guys, she's been celibate for a while, OW drama from hero's fuck buddy, he turns her down once after meeting the heroine, then she hits on him while the heroine is with him - which doesn't cause too much drama, the part that bothered me the most was that the hero was drunk at a party during their separation and I got the feeling that if his friend hadn't stopped him, he might not have stopped something happening with her in his drunken state. I don't think we ever got the confirmation that he was celibate during the separation either- he did go out drinking and partying A LOT. There's OM drama because the heroine initially liked the hero's best friend, and the hero assumes she still likes OM much longer than she did. There are no scenes with OM/OW, and hero claims to have stopped sleeping around once he started hanging out with the heroine. No cheating. I would call this one SWE just because it did irritate me how often his past was mentioned. It would have been better if *manwhore* hadn't been a core personality trait for the hero.

⭑𓂃 ⌗ opening thoughts

this book deserves like...an award for being one of the cringiest books in the history of literature. i'm not even gonna waste more words for it, i'll just show you the quotes to prove my point.

⭑𓂃 ⌗ quotes

⊹ "her friends are wearing similar things, and they all look great. totally fuckable by just about any guy I know standards."

"it's a sexy dress, and cybil has a banging body."

"I can't get your mouth right."
"oh yeah? maybe you need to better inspect it."

"if I kissed you every time I wanted to, I'd walk around permanently attached to your lips."

"I get hard every time I think about you playing dress up in those big, poofy dresses. the number of times I've looked at the pic of you in the red dress basically makes it porn."

and now a special shoutout to what has to be the worst love confession ever:

"I love you, daisy. in a sexy red dress, in white cotton panties, and everything in between." ៹࣪

⭑𓂃 ⌗ closing thoughts

so yeah, I wouldn't recommend this book to even my worst enemy. I suffered so you don't have to.

DNF @ 79%

I know! I added this to my DNF shelf so late! Why not finish it?! It was a cheese-fest tbh. I didn’t really feel their connection past friendship and they lacked any chemistry to make up for it! It got to the point where the h feels betrayed (🙄🙄🙄) and I just couldn’t continue with her OTT reaction and what I’m guessing will be their separation. It felt stupid. Bummer because the college athlete/opposites attract themes are some of my faves!

Maybe because it was more obvious this time, or maybe because I had an epiphany, but I finally understood why this author is so good at writing college romances. It’s because her characters are exactly between childhood and adulthood–they’re making decisions for their future, facing difficult choices, but their reactions and actions sometimes are still that of kids. So it works! So well.

This time, the story is about shy Daisy and playboy Jordan, but it could have been so different. In fact, at the beginning, Daisy has a crush on Liam, the polite and proper jock in her lab class. Jordan is just Liam’s bad boy friend and teammate. It just happens that Jordan is intrigued by the pretty wallflower and tries to keep them apart by asking her to tutor him. Romance ensues.

I simply loved how they slowly learn about each other and change their opinion about each other. No instalove here–though there was some quick attraction, mostly due to a certain dress, you’ll see. They spend time together, and get to know each other.

It was absolutely delightful to see Jordan the player let the shy girl take the initiative, despite his strong urges. Never the one to restrain himself, he nonetheless lets her take the lead so he doesn’t rush her. It showed his sensible side so evidently, I couldn’t help but fall for him. Like Daisy.

Daisy is the quiet and reserved kind of girl. She’s pretty, she’s smart, but she’s also very shy and doesn’t want to make a fuss. Ever. But she secretly wants to be noticed, just not by everybody. She’s happy with her gang of wallflowers, watching romantic movies and dressing up. And watching the popular jocks from afar. I liked her well enough, but I thought she was too hard on Jordan later on. Oh well.

They’re opposite in all the ways, which brings some sexy moments between the passionate player and his tentative and less experienced girl. This book may be one of the sexiest for this author. And as usual, you get a feel of the full college experience. Classes, parties, dorms, sports events, college hierarchy… There wasn’t much sports here, but the action wasn’t on the ice anyway.

You like college sports romance? This is the book for you

Oh shit. I went and fell for the wrong guy.

If you want mature and well communicating mc’s, this is not for you. This is 20 year olds in college, trying to figure life out and making questionable choices along the way. This was so fluffy and sweet. She’s his tutor. He falls first. He tries to divert the fmc’s attention from her crush(his best friend). He calls her ”Sweet Daisy”

This is a very cliché, stereotypical hockey romance. I’m not usually a fan of those, but I quite enjoyed this one.

“Nah. I can do this on my own.”
“Then why am I here?”
Because I can’t get enough of you.

This was light, cute, fun. I loved Daisy’s friends!(the other wallflowers)

The mmc did sleep around a lot prior to where the book started, but he does not sleep with anyone else after meeting the fmc. I was also skeptical about the fmc having a crush on someone not beeing the mmc, but it all worked out well and the fmc did not do anything with anyone other than the mmc. They do run into and old hookup of his, but she causes no real problems.

I would have rated this slightly higher if it wasn’t for the third act break up. It was stupid as shit. Way too dramatic. There really was no need for a break up, it just seemed like a way to add pages.

I wonder, what would it take for a campus wallflower to climb the fence and be seen?

Daisy and Jordan are the absolute sweetest pairing I have read in a long time. Daisy is a “wallflower” always just on the outside of the “cool” people having fun, and Jordan is the party. You can call this opposites attract all you want, but I’m calling it “the one you didn’t see coming” trope because neither of these two had their eye on each other for different reasons, but they are truly perfect for each other and such a great compliment to one another’s personalities. Reading these two getting to know each other and finding there’s more to them than what they see at the surface. They just click even when they have tension, so it was just a fun read.

There is a dash of angst in this one, but overall it’s super sweet with the perfect dash of heat. Once again Ms. Jenshak has given us a group of friends that you’re going to want more of, at least I do, so I can’t wait to see if we get more stories from this crew!

This book was so sweet and refreshing! Reading it felt like a soft summer breeze lol. It was just so lighthearted and adorable with a tad bit of spice. I just loved it soooooo much!!

Daisy and Jordan‘s relationship just felt so natural and easygoing! There was barely any drama and they just fit so perfectly together! I just love how there wasn’t any deep heartbreaking background and they were still able to be interesting characters and have an intriguing relationship.

It wasn’t anything mind-blowing though. Their relationship was just cute and endearing! Exactly what I was looking for.

I honestly love reading college romances as a way for me to romanticise going to college this year and this book just hit the spot! It made me also want to find myself a cute college hockey player who used to be a player but settles down for me. This book literally had me daydreaming!!

What I also loved is how their relationship developed! It was just executed in a way that made me love them even more. As already mentioned, it just felt natural with these two and kinda even “realistic” but in a cute way? If that makes sense lol.

I just LOVE Jordan!! It was so cute how he was already crushing on her from the beginning and was already pretty possessive over her when she still had a crush on his best friend. He pretty much only wanted her for himself and I loved that!

He was also so freaking sweet to her on so many different occasions. Literally had me melting and giggling so hard!! The way he also thinks about her and talks to her had me deceased!! I just love how he is with her! He’s what I’m looking for in a real life boyfriend, exactly like him.

I also like Daisy. She was such a cutie but I didn’t like how she kinda overreacting at the ending. It just felt so out of character and like the author just wanted to create some unnecessary third act conflict… but that’s nothing new for romance books so I wasn’t surprised lol.

I also liked the side characters and cannot wait to read their books! I’m so excited for Violet and Gavin’s book!! What kinda annoyed me though was how Violet projected her bad experience with “jocks” onto her friends. Kinda toxic ngl. But I hope that’ll be resolved in her book.

Overall, this book was just EXACTLY what I needed and I can’t wait to continue with this series!! If you love the off-campus and briar-u series or college romances in general, I highly recommend this book!

4.25⭐️ This book was just a quick, cute, sweet little sports college romance! The characters weren’t irritating for the most part and I got through it relatively fast. I will say the 3rd act conflict irked me ALOT (there was a whole load of overreacting in my opinion) but the way it resolved was cute. Overall good little read, a perfect pallet cleanser😌

Wasted my five hours reading this. Should have known the moment my eye twitches after reading the first chapter, I shall stop.

This is another wattpad-level book with the blandest calculated writing and dialogues. The girl is just a pick me, the guy is so unredeemable.

I don't know if I expected too much or this book is just meh

Tutoring the Player is not as good as I expected from Miss Jenshak. The story is immature with a very dragging back and forth between Daisy and Jordan. I wish Miss Jenshak putting more twist instead.

The whole story is sweet and vanila. Sport romance with minimum on the romance. Not entirely enjoy the story.

4.5⭐️ This book was so freaking cute. I could not put it down because of how obsessed I was with it. I was giddy and smiling so big throughout the whole story (except for during the third act breakup which just didn’t make sense to me because it seemed out of character for them to end things over that issue).

Daisy and Jordan literally have my heart. Their chemistry was off the charts and I love how vulnerable they were with each other. Also this story set the next book up so well. I am so excited to read Gavin and Violet’s story next and for Gavin to get his redemption arc!

This was cute and fluffy! It definitely felt a little bit too cliché with all the NA tropes thrown in—which made me think the book was older than it was—but the romance was so sweet, and the characters were pretty great! I loved Jordan and how attentive and loving he was towards (sweet) Daisy, and I loved Daisy’s character as well. She was such a sweetheart. The side characters were all pretty ehh, especially Violet, Daisy’s cousin and the FMC in the next book. So if the side characters were less annoying and the ending didn’t drag so much probably with the third act break up I probably would have given this a 4, but this was still a fun read. Very basic and simple but a nice palate cleanser.

4.5 🌟

It kinda gave me “the deal” vibes. This book was adorable honestly. It had perfect amount of cute and spicy moments. I loved the names of the main characters <3
Daisy is an introvert, lives off campus with her cousin and friends (which I believe will be getting their own books), is physics and art major.
Jordan is this popular hockey “jock” (looks like Shawn mended btw 😍) and is civil engineering major.
So basically, Daisy and Jordan are paired up for physics lab along with Jordan’s best friend, Liam, who happens to be Daisy’s crush. Along the way Jordan starts noticing Daisy and falls for her (YESSS ITS A BOOK WHERE THE GUY FALLS FIRST 😉).
I really enjoyed reading this, my first from the author and definitely look forward to continue reading the series. ❤️

I didn’t love that the male MC’s name was Jordan bc it was my ex boyfriend’s name 🤣🤣🤣🤣 but this Jordan was so in love & his groveling was top tier 🤩

The beginning of the book was great and I could really feel the tension between the main couple, which made me excited about reading forward.

But somewhere along the middle the tempo kind of dropped, the story lost it's direction and became only good. I still liked the couple, but wasn't really as connected to them later on as in the beginning 🤷

dnf at 55%. okay so this wasnt entirely horrible, i have to at least say that, but it definitely was not for me. idk how many times daisy can say that she is just SO shy and introverted or childlike and tiny. like please just spare me atp.

as well as i dont really understand what the point of her tutoring him is. like what? he just doesnt want his friend to date her bc he wants to fuck her? after seeing her in all of her “cute little dresses” because she’s just so small and “childlike you would think she was younger than she really is!” (yes, the book actually says that)?? sounds like you just wanna fuck a kid. NOT TO MENTION THE TREEHOUSE?! just say you’re trying to make a supposed college aged adult more childlike.

really the only part i actually cared about was what was going on with the liam guy the fmc had a crush on to begin with who like i said is the mmc friend. kinda curious whats going on with him but i actually dont care enough anymore to finish this book or this series.

next.

I want to be the guy that shows up for you. Tonight. Tomorrow. Every day.

4.25 stars!

I love a well-executed good girl/bad boy romance, and Rebecca Jenshak writes a sweet yet sexy romance so easily. Jordan was a great hero--confident yet vulnerable and sweet--but I wish we would have gotten more depth out of Daisy. I feel like her entire character arc revolved around boys--first Liam then Jordan. Her friends had other interests that took up their time, while Daisy came off as this shy, boy-crazy heroine. Jordan absolutely slayed in his apology/grovel after The Misunderstanding; he had me swooning! Overall, this was another enjoyable sports romance by one of my top authors, and I'm excited to read the next books in this series! ♡

Tutoring The Player is the first book in a new series written by Rebecca Jenshak, it was a nice, humorous, steamy, definitely a great start to the series.

Daisy is a shy and studious girl, when she's added to Jordan group in class she already knew his reputation of ladies man, but soon she also finds out that it's easy to talk to him and to be comfortable with him.

Daisy and Jordan have opposites personalities, for them and their friends they don't make any sense together but maybe they only needed a little push to know each other better to make desire spark.

I loved this couple. I empathized with Daisy during her journey, I could understand her bashfulness and her fear to show her feelings. Jordan was a surprise, he is swoon worthy and funny and a very nice guy. I adored to see them slowly and easily gravitate next to each other and be the best choice for their happiness.

I'm here already looking forward to next story in the series because I also enjoyed the support characters and I'm curious to know them better.

↬ I don't have a good quote sorry to disappoint yall😔

↬ But this book was really gooddd. To be honest it's this book is kind of a blur in my head (that's why you shouldn't wait so long to write the review).

↬ JORDAN ASKING THAT LIAM TO ASK HER OUT WAS SO WEIRDDDDD. And than when Daisy wanted to ask him he made sure it didn't happen (lowkey really happy about that). But still the sort of love triangle between them was mad weird BUT THAN LIAM HAD TO COME WITH THAT OTHER PLOTTWIST (I was really happy for him, so don't think I didn't like that.)

Tutoring the Player is seriously the most adorable Rebecca Jenshak book EVER!! I can not stop grinning ear to ear at just how sweet and swoony this couple is. It's tender, it's sincere, it's charming- and it's hella fun. This is the kind of story that makes you giddy and leaves your heart fully and belly full of butterflies- what a delightful and charismatic reminder of just how special falling in love, even if its with your opposite.

This book was so good - sweet and steamy, lovable characters, relatable heroine - just an overall feel good romance.

I do generally prefer a bit more angst and grit with my books but this was a great book for that need a happy, emotionally easy read.
